About Us!

If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.

The Chase Begins

We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

Hi guys I'm Annette and I'm one of the faces behind taste for adventure. I am so excited to be showing you guys this video today, because when hypsi headbands originally asked me to do this, video, I was terrified mostly because I didn't know how to do any hairstyles, and I was just so excited to be able to partner with my Favorite headband company that I was like absolutely yes, when I really actually didn't know what I was doing, but I have taken the time to learn, and today I actually have 5, maybe 6 air styles that are completely heatless using hypsi headbands, which are the best most Adjustable headbands that I have ever used in my life long story short: I went through a really tough period in my life that my anxiety and depression was causing my hair to literally fall out battling a lot of self-consciousness and lack of confidence. I went looking for the best headband I can find. I had tried everything that you could find at Walmart and Target that wasn't working for me. I went on amazon.com and that's when I found hypsi and literally that happened two years ago and I had been a faithful user of their headbands to this day so much so that when I was in Bangkok, one of my headbands have melted. I contacted hypsi knowing that they were probably not going to be able to ship to my location, because at the time I was in Thailand and it's hard when you're traveling full-time, to be able to give someone a shipping address when it changes every week. Well, they were more than willing to help and they even designed this headband just for us a chaser adventure, so it makes my heart so happy to be sharing this video with you guys hope you guys like it for all of these hairstyles you're gon na need A few bobby pins, a headband, a hairbrush and just a little bit of patience, go ahead and brush all of the hair to the back of the head. Almost like you're gon na put it into a ponytail. Now you're gon na grab the headband and put it on one of the looser settings so that it sits comfortably on the crown of your head tuck all of the hair behind the ears and use a couple of bobby pins to secure the headband to your hair. That way, it kind of stays in place as you're trying to loop all of the hair through the headbands make sure it's nice and still now, you're going to use your left hand to grab a one-inch section of hair, use the thumb and pointer finger from that Left hand to separate the headband and use the pointer finger on the right hand to hook the hair through the headband you're, going to do the same thing with the left side. Now you're going to do this one time on each side and after that you're going to separate it slightly so that you can make more space for some more loops. This is what's gon na keep that hairstyle tight once you've done that a few more times, you're gon na be left with one chunk of hair that you're just gon na fold over and then tuck into all of the hair that you just put through the headband. Now, grab some bobby pins and secure the rest of the hair in place, and that's gon na make sure that you can go on it with your own fabulous self, and your hairstyle will stay right where it goes. Remove the bobby pins - and you are all done this next hairstyle II - one of my favorites - for whenever we're doing some really action E Day. This is actually what we use to climb Mount Fuji. The first thing you're gon na do is you're gon na grab a small section of hair at the front. You can pick either side that you like and you're gon na put that into a Dutch braid. I would explain this to you, but I'm actually pretty about it, explaining how to do a Dutch braid so go ahead and click the link above. If you want to learn how, at the end of the day, it is gon na take some practice and you'll see that even I tried fanning out the braid and it did not work out for me. My fingers and Braden connection we're just not happening today once you've made it to the bottom of the Dutch braid grab, one of the hair clips and just secure it in place. That'S what's gon na. Let you to work on the other parts of the hairstyle without having to worry about that braid falling out you're, going to go ahead and grab the headband and have it sit just behind that Dutch braid, because the braid is going to go over the headband. A little later, tuck, all of the hair to the back and now you're gon na start working on doing a French braid on the back of your hair divide, your hair into three sections and then you're going to French braid it and after each braid that you Do you're just gon na add a small section of hair. That'S what's gon na make sure that it looks nice and cohesive and you're grabbing all the chunks of hair toward the end of the braid. Once you've made it to the nape of your neck you're going to grab the braid that you had just done and bring it closest to the section of hair, that's closest to that side. So, for example, I did my braid on the left. I'M gon na add that braid to the left, chunk of hair to French braid and now you're, just gon na add it into the braid, like you would any other section of hair grab a scrunchie and tie it you're gon na notice there's a little bit of Separation between the Dutch braid and the braid itself, so just secure it with a bobby pin as close to the main braid as you can. That way. It all just looks nice and cohesive and you're all done now. You can go hike, mountains and jump into waterfalls and do some really awesome things? I'M sorry, I've got to admit. I was cheating a little bit. This is a really easy hairstyle, but this headband is so soft and lovely. It'S part of the hip C flex, and it's just so comfortable and soft. This hairstyle is just a play up of a classic fun, except I use my hip C headband as a bracelet, so go ahead and put your hair up in a bun in any way that you find familiar for me. I put it into a high ponytail. First, grab a scrunchie and then start working on the braid. My hair was a little frizzy, so please ignore the super cute breezes after you put it into a high ponytail, go ahead and start twisting that ponytail and once it starts getting tight, you'll notice that it's gon na want to fall into that bun shape. So just let it I use one hand to secure it and the other one to twist. That just gives me a lot of control, I'm looking for a scrunchie. I always use two scrunchies, because it just makes sure that that hair bun is not gon na go anywhere. You'Re gon na grab the headband and put it on the tightest setting. This may vary depending on how thick your hair is. For me, my hair is pretty thin, so I just put it on the tightest setting measure around your bun to make sure that it fits. Maybe your hair is a little thicker. You might have to make it a little, looser grab a bobby, pin and secure it to one end of the headbands. That'S what you're gon na use to clasp them together until it looks like a bracelet now you're, just gon na wrap it around the bun and test that bobby, pin and use another bobby pin to secure any hair. That'S loose around and you're done. This hairstyle is very similar to that first one. So, just like you did with the first one put the adjustment on the hip C headband to whatever is most comfortable around the crown of your head. As you can see, I think I put it too tight. So I went ahead and ingested it. It'S important that it's comfortable, so you don't get a headache midway through the day, just like you did with the first one use tooth bobby pins to secure the headband on either side and tuck, all of the hair to the back ahead and again grab a one-inch Section of hair just be mindful at this time it's gon na be a little thinner because you're only doing it to half of your hair use a pointer finger as a hook and tuck that hair in and repeat on the other side. Admittedly, when I was doing this hairstyle, I forgot to pull the hair away from each other to continue making space, so it didn't come out as clean as I wanted it to. But rest assured, if you do this hairstyle, just like you did the first one. It'S gon na come out just as beautiful and you're a babe. This is what we waited for for this hairstyle. It'S actually one of my favorites that I wear all the time brush all of the hair to make sure that you have no knots in it. Make sure that you have the hair clips and the headband? This is the one that they design for us. Okay, all right, okay, ready, go ahead and do a Dutch braid, just like you did with that first hairstyle, that we did again not the best explaining Dutch braids, but make sure that you click that link. It'S the way that I learned and honestly it's gon na. Take a little bit of practice and some coordination, cuz you'll, feel in the beginning of the braid that the hair is like almost too thin the brain, but that's what's gon na make it almost like a gradient of hair of sorts. It'S gon na really blend it into the rest of hair, especially as you make the braid thicker, also something to know make sure that you put the headband around your neck first you'll notice in a second I made that mistake and have me no apologize for it. It just makes it easier so that you don't mess up the braid there. You go because now I'm having them to coordinate to not mess up the braid on the way. I didn't much better. Now that you did the first braid go ahead and start working on the second one: braid braid braid, braid, braid, hair, clip secure it in place and now you're going to grab the headband and put what my husband lovingly call is my aunt antennas through the headband You'Ll have to make it a little loose to do this, that you don't mess it up, put it through the headband and have it sit just behind the braids, since you made it loose, you're gon na want to tighten the headband back so that it doesn't move While you're doing the hairstyle now that you've done that go ahead and start French braiding, the back of your hair, just like you did the first time this time, instead of braiding all the way down, you're gon na stop at the nape of your neck and once You'Ve gotten there use one end to hold it in place and the other hand to bring both braids that you just did to the back of your hair to join that ponytail. This is where the hairstyle becomes a 2 a 1 remove those hair clips, and here you can put a scrunchie smooth out the braids that you just did and have it just be a cute little low ponytail. But for 1 days when it's super hot in Thailand. I always put this one into a low bun, so I do that. I tighten it so I can fluff up the ponytail and again you could stop here, or you can now start to twist that low ponytail, like you did with that top bun, and just put it around that first scrunchie use one hand to hold it the other Hand to twist - and I always secure it with two scrunchies cuz - that just makes my life infinitely easier and gives me the peace of mind that my hairstyle is not gon na move throughout the day, no matter what I do and you're done.
