About my hair...

I have fine, chemical-free hair. Chemical free means no relaxer...no color...no nothing. :) I mainly wear my fine, natural hair in TWIST OUT styles. For me, twist outs are a protective style that have allowed me to retain length while enjoying wearing my hair 'out.'

I also love for my fine natural hair to have lots of bounce, curls and volume!

Can we just talk about these mini twists? Real, quick, hey friends, it's Regina! Thank you so much for tuning in to my channel, so I am rocking some mini twists today and I love them um. These are just just shy of a week old. They are. These twists are five days old today, as a matter of fact, and if you're looking at my hair and you're underwhelmed, that's okay! But if you know you've seen better twists, don't understand the struggle of having fine hair, but wanting to put your hair in mini twists, and these some people may say these aren't even really many. But again, when you have fine hair, you just have to to be strategic, and this is not a mini twist tutorial. Video at all, I will be talking. I'Ve just learned a few tips and tricks just things to do. To give me a more flattering, mini twist style on my fine, natural hair and I'll talk to you about what to do a few things not to do and then some products that I like and just how I've I've kind of been maintaining them. So. But if you would like to see how I install my mini twists in general, I have two videos and I'll link them or put them in the cards up top just in case. You want to go and check those out at a later time, but mini twists are really easy. They'Re, just really very small, two strand twists. So let's talk about products that I like. Oh real, quick before I talk about the products. I just want to say my hair is not perfect at all, but this is by far the best twist out. I'Ve ever done, and some of the twists in the front have started to unravel. I mean hey, it's been five days, but just a few of them have started to unravel, and you know what part of that is, because I intentionally did not twist all the way down on some of my. I don't want to call them stringier pieces, but finer pieces or some of my smaller twists. Maybe that's the best way to describe it. I intentionally didn't twist all the way down, because I didn't want my hair to just get kind of tangled up. So I thought about retwisting them for the video, but I think they add character and my hair, as it is, has so much body. It'S really really soft. Like I said, this is the best uh set of mini twists that I've done so far and they're very versatile. I have um like a I've, been wearing wearing it flipped over to the side, actually to either side this side or this side. I'Ve been wearing a ponytail, I pulled it back for church, I just pulled it back into a ponytail, so that was sleek and then I've done like a high like a high ponytail situation, so very, very versatile and then of course, the middle part like I'm wearing It right now, but I am having so much fun with these twists and I'm just so glad that I did them now the products now having fine hair. You don't want to go in with a thick heavy Styler. It will just weigh your hair down and your hair will look like it has little anchors on the end, just weighing it down, so look for or find some lightweight quality products that will make your twists kind of plump and fluffy. So I'm just going to show you what I use for this set of twist outs I went from. I went in first with thirsty curls, which is a leave-in from Uncle funky's daughter just to prep my hair and keep it help, keep it moisturized for the style. On top of the Thirsty curl after I applied it, I used super curl, which is a miracle moisture cream. Both of these are very lightweight products, and I knew that my hair was going to be right because, as I was putting the mini twists in you know what I started over here. Oh no, no, I started in the back and then did section by section, but as I started as my hair started to dry, my twists were Plumping up and I knew I was going to have a really great style. Well, I didn't know, but I was pretty sure that I would have a pretty great style, so that goes for any stylers. If they are too heavy, your hair will just hang there and you may have to play around with some different stylers and try some products until you find what works for you, but have fun in the process all right for your finer, thinning, hair. You cannot go wrong using a foam or a mousse. I think any foam or mousse in general will definitely get the job done, but they are not all created. Equally. I'Ve had some sticky ones that just made my fingers practically glue themselves together, but I do have two that I really like, and I just want to show these to you. The first one is by allocate Naturals and it's the lemongrass styling mousse. I love this one. So much it smells really good. I'Ve never smelled anything like this before. I guess I never smelled lemongrass before, but it has a nice nice gentle scent and the amount of moisture that this put into my hair was just insane so allocate Naturals, lemongrass setting mousse styling moves and then the crazy sexy curl honey, setting foam. This is by the Dew. I discovered the do just a few months ago, loved it and with this particular setting foam, I did several styles with it um I feel like with using a mousse or foam in general um you're, going to get frizz free, mini twists. You'Re going to get smooth mini twists and they're going to be very soft. I like the way that these products just made my hair so light and kind of like Airy. I love it and that's what you want on your fine hair, nothing that will weigh your hair down and, of course, look. I'M not a scientist, and I hope this next statement even comes out right, but I feel like when products have like air bubbles in them. That means that they're light and Airy - I don't know, but products like this - will give you that fluffiness that you want on your hair and that can be really important if you are a fine natural or if you just have fine hair period, and you want it To look like it has a little bit more bulk. Okay, I do want to share a few do's and don'ts with you and it's not a huge long list. My first do is take your time with your parting. I recommend that you make two solid side parts, and I recommend you do this, because this will give you that flexibility of doing some swoops wait. What am I trying to say? Yes, um side, hairstyles or swoops y'all. I can't find my words today, but I can do it this way and then I can also flip it on the other side so by establishing those two main side Parts. It just gives me flexibility with my hair. Also, I made one main part in the center, so I can always Rock the center part and if you are parting, your hair in rows, which is how I did mine in the back. I just did rows rows on top of rose and on the side. I did Rose as well stagger your mini twists, and this is hard for me to explain. But if you look at a brick wall, the bricks are not just brick on top of brick on top of brick they're, not in a grid, they're kind of staggered on on each other to create that pattern. So do that with your mini twists, so that if you have a row of many twists the row above it the twist, The Twist will fall within the parts on the row below it hope that makes sense. Let me know in the comments if that makes sense, but just take your time with your parts, you won't regret it and you'll just give yourself more flexibility with your style. All right and my second do is put product on the entire length of your hair. I know sometimes most of us will start we'll put product on our hair and we'll put it on at the root, and maybe you know we think we're smoothing it all the way down. But by the time we get down to the end. Maybe we've there's no more product left on our fingers, so just be sure to put products on the entire length of your hair. That way, you'll get definitely a more uniform look on your mini twist. My third and final do protect your hair at night. Tie it up or wrap it up or do something to it just to keep it looking neat for as long as you can, my nighttime routine is really easy. All I do is put my hair up in a satin scrunchie. I bought like a seven pack of satin scrunchies from TJ Maxx or Ross very inexpensive. I just put my hair up in a satin scrunchie and put my bonded on so use your scarf. Your Bonnet use something, but my it just keeps your your edges. Looking neat. It keeps your twists looking neat overall, just preserve your style, because if you take the time to put in mini twists, this is not a 15 or 20 or 30 minute job. I can't remember exactly how long it took me to put these in, but I took my time so it was probably an hour and a half. It was probably an hour and a half that may be slow to some people. But it's you know, that's just how long it took me, but the time that you spent to put these twists in, especially if you're, using them as a protective Style. You just just cover your hair up at night, wrap it up and preserve your style and get some more wear out of it all right. I have some dunks. I want to share with you and to me the don'ts are even more important than the do's super short list, because in general, mini twists are easy to maintain um. I just want to call out a few things that you definitely should not do number one on. My don't list don't leave your mini twists in on your fine or thin hair for longer than two weeks. No ma'am, no sir, because, depending on how fine and thin your hair is, it might start to tangle upon itself or mat up or even lock. I made that mistake. I think it might have been my second set of mini twists because they came out better than the first set of mini twists that I did so. I kept the second set in longer uh, probably about three weeks. I think, and I had a really hard time with some of my mini twists in the back of my head. So the crown my crown area is my most um uh, my my thickest hair and the most the strongest hair and then the sides and then the back. Well, my hair at my nape area is so fine and so thin. My hair started to like lock up back here. It was summertime, I was sweating and this hair back here was just covered. I don't think it was breathing, it was getting in the air. Rather, I don't think it was getting in the air. I was just putting my Bonnet on at night, letting it down in the day and neglecting to even take a look at the back, but let me just show you: I have three mini twists back here, one one two and this one has completely come loose. One. Two and then three, it took me probably ten minutes just to do those three little mini twists, because I had to make sure my parts weren't too small, or that I wasn't making them too small and I twisted very Loosely, which is why that one in the Middle came apart, but I recommend every every other day do an inspection of your mini twist check for any unraveling. If that's important to you and just check your hair in those specific areas where you know it may have a tendency to mat up at the root and take care of it immediately. Like I said you, you put these mini twists in possibly as a protective style, and you don't want to damage your hair from a protective style. That is not the goal. So, no more than two weeks my recommendation, my next don't is absolutely Twist from the root, but don't twist too tight do not put a lot of tension on your hair when you're installing your mini twist, you don't want to snap off the little the little fine Hair or thin hair at the root before it even has a chance to sprout out so just be gentle with your hair, show it some love and um. I don't recommend using like an edge control. I know some people use Edge controls not even just on their edges, but if they're doing individual twists like this to define the parts and make their hair look nice and fresh, that's fine, but when you do that on fine or thinning hair, you just draw attention To the parts you don't want that scalpy look, so I didn't put anything on my roots except the product and my hair. Yes, it's not it's not all out to here and and my twists aren't they aren't. They aren't looking like ropes, like some people with thick hair, like how their mini twists look, but you can't see a lot of scalp. I think if y'all a little 360 either you can't see a lot of scalp and that's that's what you want. That'S what you want out of your mini Twist on your fine and thin hair. Another! Don'T don't rush! Just take your time! This is not a style that you can do in 5, 10. 15. 20. 25 minutes. If you can then you're the bomb, but I don't remember exactly how long it took me to put my twists in, but I would say it was probably an hour and a half on fine hair. But I took my time and I got them the way that I wanted them, and here is we're coming up on a week with these, and the only reason I am going to take them out in a few days is because of what I just mentioned. I don't want them. I don't want my hair to to get matted and even though it's winter time I sweat in my head like back here, so I just think for me. It'S best that I take them out in a few days and not try to extend the style. So that's it. Those are my product recommendations, my do's and my don'ts, of having many twists. The only other thing I do to my hair. If you know my scalp starts itching grease, it grab your favorite oil, do whatever you normally do to keep your scalp feeling good and and healthy. I have a scalp and hair Elixir by Uncle funky's daughter that I've been using. I um rub it in my hands and then just kind of press it into my twists. That'S what I do to my hair itself and then I put some on my fingertips and rub it in into my scalp, but I'm loving my mini twist. Let me know if you have ever: have you ever worn many twists and if so, how long do you keep them in and how do you maintain them um yeah, so I hope that this video was helpful to anyone wearing many twists or, if you are thinking Of putting your hair in many twists, I am obsessed, I'm obsessed with mini twists and then I'm like. I have fine hair, so mine will look different than somebody else who has super thick, coarse hair, but that's okay too. This is what was given to me and I'm working with it all right. Friends. Thank you so much for tuning in to my video until next time keep it. Naturally corporate
