Everyone Kayleigh - you are friendly, neighborhood here stylists here and today we're gon na do some straight hair hairstyles. Now I've been getting a lot of requests for this, I'm assuming because I like to curl my hair before I do any of my tutorials. It'S really really ingrained habit for me, and I understand that it would be nice to get to see some of these hairstyles on straight hair, whether you prefer to wear your hair straight or your hair is more naturally straight. So I thought I would make this video today, but of course remember that these are sales are gon na look good on any hair texture or whether your hair is curly wavy, whether you've curled your hair or left it straight whatever. These are cute, they're, easy and have excited to show you so, let's get into it. Okay, so let's get started so far of my hair. All I've done is to shampoo and condition it with the Brio gob gentle be kind big surprise. It'S my favorite shampoo and conditioner, and then I was testing out a new product from dry bar on my hair. It'S a leave-in conditioner, slash, heat, protectant and so far I'm liking it. But this is like my second time using it. So I'm not totally sure yet. Then I just blow-dried it, and this is what we've got so, let's actually get started on the hairstyles, I'm gon na start with a really simple one. I feel like hair trends in general are getting a little bit more minimal, which is a lot of fun, especially if you want a really quick hairstyle. So, let's start with something very, very fast got a little half updo, so I'm gon na start by parting. My hair at the center and then I'm gon na pull some up into a half updo, but I'm not gon na literally pull half of it up. Err. It'S gon na leave out these little tendrils bits right here. You could leave out bangs if you have them at this step and then once I hit my temples just right here, like eyebrow height, I'm just gon na go straight up to where I want my ponytail to sit watch your fingers meet in the middle. You just pick up all the hair, that's over and that's your section and, of course, we're gon na smooth it out. You want to brush the hair. Obviously it's going into the ponytail, but when it's half up you also want to brush the hair underneath it to make sure it's all laying down that way. You get less little snarls and tangles. When you put the elastic in, you really cannot rush your hair enough going into a ponytail always help there. We go. Let'S hit that with a little bit of hairspray, I'm almost out of this stuff again use it so much boom. And then I'm gon na grab a bobby, pin and wrap a small piece of hair around the elastic and we're gon na be done as a bonus step, I'm grabbing a little bit of hair, color powder and filling in my hairline. This is something I'm doing more, because I'm doing this hairstyle for the internet yeah. There is just a difference between when you're trying to make it look like it's the best version of itself and when you're trying to get out the door see a bump old. Please, where is she she's right there? Not today, that's the hairstyle seriously easy adorable a little bit of clueless vibes and I'm into it. So that's how to do it on short hair. Now, Anna Laura hello, it's time to do it on long hair. Yes, ayo now Laura's feeling brave and wants to try something new in today's video. If we don't try anything do what's exciting. This is the Bumble and Bumble and visible oil. Soft texture, finishing spray, they're invisible oil is like it's a very shine, enhancing moisturizing thing. So I think they just kind of blended that with a hair spray for the finishing spray, did you hear all the instructions I'm gon na be honest. I was working in there on photo editing photos not really all right. Well, let me give you the instructions, so this is gon na be really similar to the short hair style except miss anna laura has really long layers in the front like this is her shortest layer. It just means that the tendrils are not like little short dudes, they're, they're gon na be all the way down here. So if you guys have long hair, but you have shorter face trimming layers, you can do what I did. But if you have the longer layers, I would say instead of what I did was to kind of separate out a chunk in the front and leave that down we're not doing that, because that will not look you right, I would say: do you have really thin Parting along your hairline, just picking up the stuff in the front here: okay and let that be down and that's all read: you're gon na be broken a little bit, because that happens to everybody and that way you end up with, like a shorter, more tenderly. Looking tendril, okay, but then you follow the rest of the steps like I did. Rush the hair into the ponytail yeah hair elastic, wrap the elastic, and then you get to play with your new hairspray ooh, like definitely enhanced shine for sure yeah, okay! Well, that's the long version and now for our next hairstyle. I think it's time to braid, but not just a three strand braid. No, no! No, let's do a rope, braid, so quick, a little refresher on what a rope braid is. You have two sections one and two to create the rope you twist, the hair in one direction and then it wraps in the other. So if you're new to this, it helps to kind of get a few twists done like so, and then wrap it a few times, and then you can twist some more and wrap some more or if you get a little bit more advanced, you can rotate your Hands and twist once and then wrap and then twist and then wrap once you get the hang of the twist and wrap at the same time it is much easier, but you know if you get started with the twisting a section and then wrapping that section. That'S good too. Okay, now that we've had our little refresher course, let's put it in the hair, already we're actually gon na. Do a Dutch rope braid stay with me: it's not that hard gon na start with a big section of hair from the crown split it into two twists and wrap once or twice, and now, let's make it into a Dutch rope braid. All you have to do is add more hair into each section, so you're gon na sweep some back on each side, put it with a section and then continue twisting and wrapping two more times and now for the short hair. I'M just going to repeat that one more time now I have to do is secure it with an elastic. Now, at this point you can be done, the hairstyle is beautiful, as is or you can add, in a little bit more accessories, maybe you've wrapped the elastic with some hair. Maybe you put a scrunchie in it. Maybe you put a little clip over it. Maybe you take some inspiration from Kristin s because I saw Kristin s put a pearl and Lucy Hales hair the other day, and now I want to put a pearl in my hair. So I'm gon na use this to cover up the elastic, just pin it up into the braid, so that is the Shorthair version. Let'S bring Ana Laura in for the long hair she looks nervous. Have you done a rope braid before I think I have done one like coming off of like a kid's ponytail one okay, so like the most basic of basic rope, braids that as someone who struggles with our rights, unless I'm a little nervous? Oh No! Do you want to try one before you do the Dutch braid yeah? Okay? This is the part where you guys get to see the hairstylist help the non hairstylist. The only thing that I would suggest that will help you when you turn it into a Dutch braid. Is that you want to hold it slightly closer to where the twisting is happening? So the difference with the long hair? Is that you're going to do the Dutch rope braid until all the hair is incorporated into the Dutch rope braid and then you're putting it into a ponytail? Okay, there you go. How is that you can pull out whatever you want around your face? I'M a brunette! Not there's anything wrong unless you don't want to be yeah unless you are trying to be blonde all right, so I forgot to give you guys this instruction with the short hair, so I'm gon na show you with the long hair you're just gon na pull it Apart and you do that by taking little pieces at a time - and the reason for that is that you want to fluff it apart, but you don't want to loosen up this part of the braid too much so you're almost treating it like a bubble. Ponytail kind of like pulling at it, trying to bubble out the pieces a bit and then just cause your hair is real thick. I'M just sticking a couple bobby pins up and into the braid, mostly to help it hold throughout the day. Also alrighty. I think I'm gon na finish this thing out by wrapping some hair on the elastic for you wow. I love it. I think the only thing I want to do here is because the ponytail is straight, it's a little slimmer, so I just want to backcomb through it just to kind of fluff it out. So I'm going underneath and I'm just like rotating the brush up towards your head and then I'm gon na split it in half cuz. That really only gets the bottom half of the hair do the same thing on the underside of the top half and once that's in there you can kind of like mess around with it and then, if it looks particularly fuzzy in any areas, you just lightly graze. It with the bristles of the brush, I'm gon na try to get some focused volume right here, underneath the elastic as well alright and then for my final trick. I'M just gon na hold this out and spray a little bit of the texturizing spray. Just to add it in I'll use a little bit of this just in case it holds better. So there's the long hair version. It definitely looks like an intricate hairstyle, but it really just is a braid into a ponytail and if the rope braid sounds a little daunting, do it with the Dutch braid, it will still be super and now back on to our next hairstyle, another quick kind of Minimal one for this, we have a half up bun for the short hair and a bun for long hair. So, let's start with this part here, which obviously all of these short hair modifications can be done on long hair. If you like, the half-up version better, throw it out there, but for me I'm gon na grab my hair and pull it into a half up, ponytail kind of just the way that I normally like to do it, which is leaving hair down around my face and Pulling pieces back if you prefer to pull back less hair more hair, if you prefer it to be slicked, if you prefer to be loose, you can do whatever you want and if you don't know what you want. This is a really good time to just sit in the mirror and just play around. Let me show you what I mean like. I don't like stuff pulled straight back, but if that's your thing, you can try pulling pulling so straight back and seeing how that looks on you, you can try different partings and see how it looks just you know like move stuff around just figure it out and Whatever you like is what you should go with, and just that day you know you don't have to have like a signature thing that you do every day. You might end up there if you have a favorite, but it's a good time to play around cuz. It doesn't take a lot of time to try a different stuff and it can just help. You feel a little bit more confident and like into your hairstyle. This is how I'm gon na pull my hair back and I'm going to secure that with an elastic okay and now we're gon na create the button. Of course, if you do whatever kind of bun you want, but here's one that you can do on shorter hair, that makes it look nice and dimensional. I'M going to split the ponytail into two pieces. I'M gon na wrap those pieces around each other a few times. Basically, until I run out of room, then we wrap the hair into a bun and pin it in place and now comes the fun part. You grab the teeny, tiny pieces of hair and start pulling apart to create a little bit more messiness and texture alrighty and then you're, just gon na add in your accessory of choice. I have some pearl bobby pins, but I'm gon na stick in and I'm just gon na put those in. However, I feel like it. Obviously you could do this with whatever hair accessory you're feeling you've got snap clips. You'Ve got acrylic Clips scrunchies, so many trends right now use whatever you are and there's another quick option that you can use. I love a bun. I love a half updo and I love finding different ways to play with accessories so that you can make the hairstyle just a little bit more your own each day, all right! That'S the Shorthair version. Let'S move on to the long hair, so basically you're just gon na create a little messy bun. Did you hear how I did the bun on myself before it's like? She has an actual job that she does so I'm gon na say for the long hair, you're gon na pull your hair back into a low or middle ponytail, depending on what you like best part, your hair, how you want it slick it back, leave it loose. Whatever makes you feel great, obviously anybody will work, but what I did was to split the hair into two and just wrap the two pieces around each other til. I got to the end of the hair: okay wrap that into a bun pin it, and then you pull it apart little pieces at a time until it looks what you want it to coming in for emergency extra fluff, don't mind me and here in the middle, Because I can I kind of want to change the way that this is flowing, because we've got this nice little circle going here. That'S very clear. I think, if we kind of disrupted this, it will help the whole thing look Messier. So I'm just gon na mess with it for a second, so I'm also loosening it up up here and again, it's like you're pulling it tendrils, you're, not like chunking it and taking it all the way from the scalp, it's just the floating pieces. What accessories do you want sis, oh she's, going for the bling I'll put them in, for you yeah all right! Just keep it in mind. You can do this with like snap clips and it's everyday or I was just so smart and I decided to give you guys a formal option and with all these everyday options every way you want to interpret it cuz. These are kind of heavy. It does help to put the pin in down that way the weight is going down and into the pin. So it's again we're structurally sound and then like on these little ones where the weight doesn't matter as much. You can just stick it in, however, is gon na be easy to hide, and this is where I stop and there's the final version on long hair. Obviously we take this a little more formal, but it can be casual, everyday or dress up a bowl just depending on what accessories you pair with it, and everything else that you're wearing for our final hairstyle. Let'S go with something just to the max we're gon na twist we're gon na braid and we're gon na make it all work on straight hair watch me. First, we have my so you're gon na start by taking back two sections of hair and when I say sections I mean you're going to pick up a section, it's kind of like a square and you're gon na pull that back. If you try to sweep this whole thing back, it's not gon na work, a Wella secure that with an elastic and now we're gon na create a twist by literally flipping the ponytail over. So we're gon na kind of pretend like the ponytail is a basketball and the space between the elastic in the head is whoo. I'M just gon na and that's all. I know about basketball and now you're going to take your thumb and index finger and pull it. Teeny tiny bits to fluff the braid out and now we're gon na repeat that with two more sections on each side of the elastic we just created so you're gon na pick up, one pick up to bring comes together, shoot the basketball into the hoop and fluff. It apart and that's the twisting all righty now that we have the twist and I'm going to wrap that one visible elastic with a little bit of hair and then we're gon na move on to the polder braid. So now, at this point we have two ponytails. We have the one from the first twist and the one from the second twist and we're gon na use that to create our pull-through braid. I'Ve done a full tutorial on pull through braids, which I will link above. But let's just do a quick little recap as I create this month. So first things first on the top ponytail you're going to put an elastic in about two inches down from our last one that we wrapped with hair. Then you're gon na split the hair between the elastics open and pull the back ponytail through now. My first ponytail was not very thick, so I'm actually gon na pick up a little bit of extra hair. When I do that too, just to make it a little fuller, then I'm going to gently pull apart the new bubble that has formed - and we start over, put an elastic about two inches down split. It open pull the back ponytail through and it can help during this process to clip the hair. That'S not part of the pull-through braid out of the way, so you don't get those annoying hanger-on hairs. They get all tangled and cause a mess. We don't want that and with that this hairstyle is complete, see. Even if you have shoulder length hair, you can still rock a pull-through braid and now it's time for the long, hair, yellow, you're. Exposing me you're. Exposing me you don't love all braid they're, all my children. I like the look of a pull-through braid process of doing that. It'S not my favorite! Oh I know, but hey you picked the hairstyle, so yeah. Now I'm nervous about actually doing it, because you might have a point that this is difficult, so see. Ok! Well, for the long hair, it's not too different. I think one thing is that for the short hair I really focused on starting higher up, so I gave myself as much space as possible. You don't have to worry about that. So, instead of being up here, we're like eyebrow height, almost you could be closer to ear height at the beginning, doesn't really matter just throwing that out there and then obviously you have a lot more room to do a pull-through braid. So you can do more than three bubbles: okay, yeah, a lot more elastic exactly but other than that. It'S pretty similar. All right says: how do you feel I feel good glad you maybe put a pull-through braid in this video less excited about it than when I was about to do the braid. It was challenging there. You go. That'S the pull-through braid on long hair, it's very similar, but at least you get the effect of what it looks like when your hair is a little longer. I love bubble, braid, I'm so glad you love Bubble braids. I would like to never do it on myself. Again, though, hahaha I think bubble, braids are something you should grab a friend and do cuz. They are not hard at all to do on someone else, but doing them on yourself. That was quite a challenge mm-hmm. So those are my final thoughts on bubble. Read. So we're gon na call them bestie braids. For me, yeah, exaggerating and there you guys go. Those are some straight hairstyles whether your hair is naturally straight or you like to wear it straight. We'Ve got you covered, also keep in mind. A lot of my hairstyles can be done on straight hair, even if my hair is curled in the video just so you guys know in the future. That'S there for you. I love that these, at least for me, we're all heatless hairstyles, I'm trying to incorporate that. It'S been very hard for me, but I'm working on it, but that being said, I hope you guys enjoyed today's video. If you did don't forget to hit the like button to help support my channel if you're new here, you can click that subscribe button to join the breda holic family here on Kaley Melissa and all y'all can hit that Bell icon to be notified every time I Post a new video, but that is it today, whether you're, old or you're, new or you're, a casual lurker. I think we should call this video pulling at teeny tiny bits. My first demonetized video they party out, I'm just glad that I got basketball in hoop right.

IceQueen975: I haven't even watched this yet but FINALLY! It literally takes me 3 hours to curl my hair... and then it falls out in less then an hour because it's so thick and heavy. Curling literally is not viable for me.

Raeley Barchers: I have naturally straight hair and I'm always looking for ways to spice it up!

Aix, MD: Thank you for this video! I haven’t “mastered” curling my hair with a curling iron so I always end up with just my normal “unstyled” hair (blow dried or straightened with a flat iron) when I go to formal events. This just gave me ideas on what I could possibly to do my hair. VIDEO REQUEST: Please feature Kristin Ess’ new 2” curling iron...? I feel like it’s going to work so Anna Laura’s hair beautifully! Thank you! ❤️

Mrs Gump: My hair has gotten super fine n thin since I got sick years ago with an autoimmune disease (it falls out bad when I'm in a flare), so most of these are no good on my hair, but I LOVE to watch these vids anyway. Both you ladies seem really lovely n are both gorgeous :)

Cacoa Dentry: Omg I've been waiting for this for so long!!!! Btw I love your vids, you taught me how to braid and basically do every hairstyle I do!!!!!

Andthatsthestory: Love following you because we have similar hair types (fine & straight) so you’ve made me realize that I can do more than just have my hair down or up in a pony/bun! Thank you! ❤️

Missy Wolf: Where did you get those pearl pins? Also, when I try to pull my hair back, leaving a part, I ALWAYS get weird bumps towards the end of the part, any suggestions would be much appreciated! (Am I the wonky one with that problem?)

NerdyKat19: I have straight and layered hair so I'm always trying to figure out hairstyles that I can do with it that don't require curls cause my hair will NOT hold curls lol. I decided to grow it out cause I miss being able to do braids correctly with it lmao

Cultivating Beauty: Yaaasss, Queen Kayley!! I have been needing this from you, and I am LOVING seeing a video of multiple tutorials. They are my FAVE! I get in hair ruts, and your videos always help me kick them to the curb!

Ana Maeve: Yay! I loved the rope braid the most! Please make this a series! Curling my hair is for special occasions only. It's so thick that I have to section it into 12 sections and it takes an hour to curl it! :(

Julia Willsie: I love that you're giving us long, straight-haired girls a tutorial! :)

Veronica: Thank you! I have combination of straight and curly identity-crisis hair so I usually just straighten with a flat iron. These are styles I'll try

Emily Garcia: Prefect! Just in time when I go into my spring semester of college!

donna brown: Thank you!! I love this, because my hair is super straight regardless of what I do to it.

Mandy Trout: After binge watching you girls I actually am doing things with my hair again and not just putting it in a bun every day.... Thanks for the inspo!

fksongbird28: Yay! My hair is straight and curling takes forever! I would love more of these videos!

demi: it's so nice to see easy hairstyles i can learn for when i go into work ! thank youuu

Amanda Kirby: So I have just recently cut my hair and it’s about the length of yours...and extremely thick! I tried all of these hairstyles and just couldn’t make them work-I’m sure with some practice thought I can! But during the trial and error part I stumbled across a hybrid of a couple of these hairstyles that worked perfectly and looked super cute! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!

Coco Puff: YAY!!! I love watching your videos! I was wondering if you could do a video on straight, medium length hairstyles for thick hair?

oooh19: 1) I love your purple sweater 2) I have long hair so its great seeing these styles on your sister 3) I have straight hair so its nice straight hair is getting some love (again. honestly its like wavy hair is seen as better in recent years but some of my friends spent hours straigtening theirs w/ a flat iron. but its great to see the styles on different textures)

Alana Marie: Can you do tiny curls in your hair Kayley? I would love to see your hair so full:) I absolutely love your tutorials!

AndreaRenata Gomez: Cute cute cute!!! I have a hard time not cutting my hair again every time I watch one of your videos but other than that I love the inspo!

Michelle Martinez: Thank you for this! My hair is stick straight. I started watching youtube videos back in 2012 to learn how to hold a curl and thats how i found you lol. Thanks again!

Kiki Dainton Piacente: Yay!!! Thank you for straight hair/heatless hairstyles!!!

Anna Chase: The long hair version of the second hairstyle looks like an amazon warrior braid

Pilar Garcia: Thanks for making comprehensive videos on hair styling for both hair lengths!

Anna Stadnikiewicz: I’ve been waiting for this video for sooooo long because I cannot curl my hair at all and I’m always paranoid that I will burn them if I try

Rachel Frumkin: That prep and prime spray from Dry Bar is so good. I use after every wash so like 3 times a week, it leaves my hair smooth and soft for days! Days Kayley! I hope that is the product is the one you speak of.

Brina F: Thank you! I have straight hair and I got a haircut very similar to yours about a month ago... let's just say my hair is already complaining because I really like to wave it... I need to cut it some slack

Libby Williams: Thank you so much for this! Was excited for your natural texture video bc I thought you had naturally straight hair like me and was disappointed (and jealous) to see your lovely natural waves

Cindy Witty: Love the hairstyles ~ ❤️ Did you put an elastic around your hair prior to putting it in a bun in the short hair version? Thanks ~

McKenna Harmony: so cute! love all of these hairstyles

Ashley Tutor: I cannot get over how pretty you two are

Ally W Han: Anna Laura’s far away “helloooooo!” Was so cute haha

Elizabeth Yates: Loved it!!! I always look forward to my fridays with Kayley and Analaura

Shopitybop: Hey there! Could you please review some blow dryers? My hair texture is similar to yours, basically naturally straight just super thick. So I normally let it air dry except it takes like half a century to dry. Also, I love all the braid hairstyles you’ve done over the years and these new short/long, straight hairstyles. Thank you for giving us new ideas!

Rachel Dee: As a newish young mom with straight, flat, fine, thin hair, I appreciate these styles so much. REQUEST: A thorough comparison of hot rollers (including the Caruso steam ones that were in the KKW x Mario photos). YouTube is lacking a current quality tutorial/review by an actual hair stylist for that blowout/hot roller look. I want to make the switch because it's less heat damage, more time efficient, and drop dead gorgeous.

Keapix: Yay, I’m so excited for this, as my hair won’t hold a curl!

haalloondricka: I really appreciate that you show the hairstyles on both long and short hair!

JulesLyn96: everyday makeup tutorial? love the warm tone eyeshadow!!!

Ann Christian: Thank you for this video, my hair is very similar to AL's very long and thick mines got some natural waves to it but can hold curls or a straight blow out, mines also a lot darker in color lol.. anyway I love watching you ive learned so much to do w my hair when I watch you and when I watch you perform on your sissy, so thank you for this vid.. I love it. Take care girlie girls.. you ladies are awesome

Davis Family: I’ve been growing my hair out for the past 5 years with the intention of donating. Now that my hair is long, it’s not as healthy as I would like but I’m kind of attached to it. I’m not sure if I should do the big chop or not. :/

Looloos Hair: Amazing video as always! Love your blue jumper too

Kakapo: Please do more, especially for work styles, maybe like formal work events, so just to keep out of face.

Bella Lima: Just what i needed. Love it❤

Janie Tyrell: Whenever I try to do a bun without curling my hair and pull it apart it looks like a little flat disk stuck to the back of my head that has no bulk whatsoever

Dorissa Claire: I can’t for the life of me understand how people get rope braids to stay in their hair! Whenever I try, they just entirely unravel. Is my hair just wildly more thin than thin/ slick than most people’s?!

Laura Knaus: It makes me so happy that you seem so much happier now.

Hanna H: Kayley could you please do a tutorial for Grease-hairstyles??? I've looked EVERYWHERE for "sweet Sandy"-hair, and you have such a good video on how to do her curly hair but I'd love one for her lightly curled good-girl half-updo!! Maybe a vid with all the Pink Ladies' hairstyles?

Deni: Thank you thank you thank you :-* more of this please :D

Margaret Mayer: Can you do a video of the new Revlon hair dryer vs the pink one you have? Today I went to target and was so confused. The pink one was $35, while the new blue color is $60.
