Everyone Kayleigh your friendly neighborhood hairstylist here and today I'm gon na teach you guys how to blow-dry your hair. Oh, my gosh, okay, so we know there is a big difference between pointing a blow-dryer at your head and what happens when you go to the salon and get your hair blow-dried. It is a world of difference. However, many of us are now home during social isolation, and we have a little bit more time to learn some new skills, and I thought it would be fun to show you guys some new techniques that you can mix into your blow-dry routine. You can either do all of them for a full-on blowout, or you can just mix in a couple here and there for something that feels a lot more doable for me personally, trying new things and doing a bit of self-care has been so key with dealing with My own mental health, while having to be socially isolated, it's not the most fun at the beginning, I'm an introvert. I was thriving, and now I don't know what to do with myself. So, just in case anybody else is in that boat with me, I thought it would be cool to teach you some new stuff and for today's video I am actually going to be using the Dyson super sonic limited edition gift set. This one includes a hot pink hairdryer: hey he's, styling, a smoothing and a diffusing attachment, a lovely anti-slip grip and the round brush and comb I'll be using for my blowout today. Now you don't have to use this specific set to do these tips, but it is what I'm going to be using today, and I wanted to thank Dyson for sponsoring today's video. I want to shout out that Sephora is actually having sale around this time of the year that could help you obtain your own Dyson. Also, I've got a little giveaway going on so make sure you stick around to the end of the video, but with all that said, let's get into it. Let'S talk about the goal. The overall thing we're trying to achieve when we're blow-drying our hair. The cool thing is, you can use your blow-dry to do so much. You can correct cowlicks. You can correct. Like random, frizzy wavy bits, you can add volume shine, smoothness, reduce frizz, add a new kind of shape to the hair, with volume or with waves. Like the list is endless, it's kind of a way to work with your hair, but also get it to like that extra 10 sento perfect that you want it to be. You know so we're gon na talk about techniques that you can use to fix all the different things I just talked about like if you're watching this video and you're like I've got a cowlick here and here and here my hair is wavy right here and I Want volume here, at the end of this video you'll, have the techniques to know how to conquer each of those things and the way I'm gon na go about this is to break it down we're breaking it down. We'Re gon na talk about the stuff that you put on your hair, the tools that you're using and then we'll talk about these techniques. So you can figure out what to use where and then I'm gon na put it all together and show you a blow-dry on my hair. Okay, we're really going through this. This is not like a quick little like stick a chip in your head and all of a sudden, I know kung fu moment this is we're gon na get nitty gritty, and I hope you guys are down for it because we're getting into it. First of all, the products, obviously we're gon na - be talking about how to use your hairbrush and your hair, dryer blah blah blah, but also the products that you put in your hair are important. Example, number one a blow dry balm that can help to add smoothness to your hair, but also add some hold and fight frizz. Now, of course, if you're working with a good drier, hairbrush all that it's gon na help in that endeavor as well, but it doesn't hurt to double up number two. You can use a blow dry accelerator, something that helps your hair to dry faster. Already again, it doesn't have to be the only thing: that's helping your hair dry faster, but it is nice to have and to utilize, especially if you have a ton of hair or if you have to dry your hair quickly. You can use a mousse to add volume and/or hold, depending on the kind of mousse that you get. One way you can think about mousse is that it's hairspray in a different form because it does add similar holes. It does do similar things, but with a much more touchable result, and that can really be useful for you when you're doing your blow-dry. So if you're trying to create a very specific shape, like you really want roundness you're trying to get curls in, you want volume. Mousse is your friend and every time I talk about mousse, I think of mousse anybody else. Mousse is your friend just picturing a mousse, it's my friend. You can also use a hair oil that can help with detangling or adding shine. That will typically also make the hairbrush go more smoothly through your hair and, of course, tame. The frizz add shine, created better overall results and now the tools, obviously I'm using the Dyson super sonic today, I'll tell you a little bit about it, but also I'll tell you a little bit about what to look for in a hair, dryer. First off love the design of this one. I know it looks so different than most other hair dryers. It has the air coming in through here and then out this way, which means that you're not going to end up with hair getting sucked into the hair dryer, while your hair drying love that. I also love that I can hold this. However, while I'm drying my hair, because when I work on clients, I'm a dryer holder, not a hand we'll hold our dryer holder, but what is actually cool about the Dyson super sonic. That makes it all that in a bag of chips, is its ultra fast drying. It'S powerful digital motor, it's heat sensor that reads heat at least 40 times a second to make sure that the heat is always even that helps to prevent extreme heat damage and, in addition to all that, it adds smoothness increases shine and decreases frizz. We love now. This is actually my second of the Dyson super sonic dryers, because I let my younger brother have my first one. He is Korean and his hair is a little harder to style into place. So I was like listen if you promise to use this every day and style, your hair with it, I will let you take it and he was like. Please leave Leslie. I was like okay. I love you that much you can have it, and one of the reasons that I parted with it as easily as I did is because I was not using the attachments. So, let's talk about attachments most her dryers are going to come with a concentrator where you have this little kind of directed airflow that you put onto the hairdryer and it directs the airflow in a little sliver. That way, instead of having a big ole wind tunnel, you have directed airflow now that's important with the supersonic, because it has incredibly powerful airflow and I felt like it was too much for my hair. Looked more like, I have just gone outside in the very windy weather, not exactly the look I was going for and I actually asked Dyson. I was like guys, I feel, like I'm missing something here. This is normally how I blow-dry my hair. What am I doing wrong and they were like? Listen. We hear you, but with this one, because the airflow is that extreme use your concentrator when you're rough drying, your hair and I was like okay and I tried that made all the difference. I just wanted to sort that out there, because if I a hair stylist who should have known better had that problem, maybe somebody else out there did too. I do love that the attachments on this are magnetic, so they very easy to put on and take off and they're, also very easy to turn, which is nice because in some of the stuff we're gon na talk about in a second that can be important. Now, if you are looking for a hair dryer, I think some of the things that are most important to look for our variable speed settings. So you can have really intense air or a little bit less variable heat setting. So you can have it much hotter or much cooler for me. For example, I like to rough dry, my hair with a warmer setting. Then I like to kind of smooth dry, my hair, because when I'm rough drying, my dryers going all over, it is kind of far away when I'm smooth drying it's right there. So I like to have it a little bit lower heat? What I'm doing that and, of course, this little guy does all that now we're the accessories that you can use with your blow dryer. First of all, sectioning clips are key. You must section your hair, while you blow-dry it, don't try to argue with me on this. One, you must section your hair, because you're blowing it all over the place like what are you gon na, do if you're creating this mess of wind tunnel but you're, trying to also smooth it and create a shape, you're gon na get so frustrated and so bothered And you know what all you needed was a clip, so any old sectioning clip use it it'll, make a difference and then brushes. I could do a whole video on brushes. Generally speaking, you need something to detangle your hair before you ever get started, because you don't want to be detangling your hair, while you're trying to Brown brush it. Why would you give yourself extra things to do when that one step when your arm is already up here? Your other arm is over here and you're already getting sore none and ended up detangle first, so you can use a detangling brush for that today. You'Ll be seeing me use this comb that comes in the gift set. This is great, really love this for detangling when you're rough drying, something like a vent brush can be so so helpful if it's got all these little holes in it for the air to pass through, so that you're getting the most air in your hair, because the Rough dry is all about just getting out the extra water. We don't want extra water and the hair when we're trying to round brush it again. We want to make the round brushing process as easy as possible because otherwise you're gon na hate it and you're gon na hate me for making you try to do it. Let'S skip all that, you got a rough dry. A vent brush can be really great. Today, I'm actually using this, it works well too, and then the round brush there are so many brushes out there. I think, generally, you want one with kind of nylon bristles like this one that comes in the kit, they're nice, because they go through the hair. Very very easily, sometimes when you get in with like a boar Brussels or something like that, it's more of an arm, workout, you're, really pulling or in this case, pushing your hair. It'S a lot and it's more than you need. So something like a nylon bristle with either a titanium or ceramic core is what you want now this one that comes with the set. I like the size of this a lot for getting into the root and really taming the root for adding volume. If you want, you can use it to really create shape, whether it's creating a little bump under at the ends or creating a little curl in the hair or whatever it's very handy dandy. However, if you're a newbie, it might also be nice to bring a bigger brush into the spectrum, just because it's a little easier to move through the hair and it can dry a little bit faster. I did just want to throw out there that sometimes when you're, just starting out a really big brush, can be really helpful. Just generally a begin, and now we talk techniques. First of all, the root sounds like a new technology. I'Ll say it's not so I like to tackle the roots starting during the rough dry. Now I've kind of casually mentioned the rough dry a few times. Let me break it down a little bit. You'Ve come out of the shower you've. Probably towel dried, your hair a little bit your hair is very wet right now you are not ready to start running around brush through each little section. It'S too much. You want to go ahead and just kick off like 80 % of the water just right away. Just make it really easy on yourself: roll that hair dryer all over the place, get the water out now, while you're doing that. That is a really good time to start working on your roots. I think, when you're doing it on yourself, it's the easiest way. So, let's start with cowlicks, because those little guys are the worst. So I have two lovely calyx that like to live right here and I have another one that sometimes sets up residents back here now what you can do, while you are rough drying, your hair is to go ahead and direct the roots where you would like them To go so every time I blow dry, my hair, I actually start by grabbing my hair dryer, pointing it forward and brushing my cowlick forward to dry them into place because of my calyx like to go straight back. I don't like that. I don't want so drying them forward and I just do this little number and the other thing you can do not only just dragging straight forward, but you can start doing little X's in the direction that you want it to go that way. You'Re getting in there. You'Re getting every little piece of hair and you're telling the cowlick no not today, for this one, my hair likes to split in the back X out the cowlick, and you want to do that with a brush, because the closer the bristles are together, the more control You have, if you were to do this with, say a big old comb like this. It would be very similar to using your fingers and you just don't have as much control, so you really want to be in there having something. That'S like nope you're, going this way to get everything where it's supposed to be much of the same vein, you can use this for smoothing your hair, while you're doing your rough dry. If your hair has a natural kink or wave in certain areas of your hair or all over for me at certain areas, I have like a fun little kink and waviness right here. I'Ve got some back here. I don't know why. Why can't my hair all be on the same train? I don't know, but you basically end up doing the same thing as you're just drying your hair, you're gon na take your brush and you're gon na brush your hair. The way that you want it to go and you're gon na use your head as almost like the round brush to just flatten your hair down as you're drying it, and you want to keep brushing it doing the little X's back and forth so that you're getting The air in there we're knocking the water out, but we're also smoothing it, and if you have a whole lot of hair, it can be nice to do this in sections. So I take like a horizontal section here: smooth drop a little bit more over smooth, because I really think that getting in there and doing the amount of work that you need to do to pull the hair straight when you're doing a round brush can be really Hard, especially in that first, like half inch on your head, so using the hair brush and just your head is like an ironing board. It just really really helps with that. The opposite is true for volume. So if I know that I want my hair to be laying right here, but I wanted to have the volume then I'm gon na brush it the opposite way that I want it to fall. So you're gon na be smoothing it, but you're gon na be smoothing. It the opposite way and the fun thing is for volume. The smoothness doesn't necessarily matter as much unless you think your hair is gon na go nuts, but if you got the fine flat straight hair that I do this guy is your friend, because you can just brush your hair opposite of where it's falling and it works Perfectly and that's pretty obvious for the sides right like the sides, go up in the opposite direction for the back of the hair from like the ears back, you want to rush it forward. So you know you're gon na take this I'm gon na brush the hair forward to get that volume in there and basically for volume, the more route confusion you create the better and now it's time. For the part, I am most passionate about the hair and by the hair I mean everything, that's not the roots, because there is a very important tip that a lot of people just have not clicked into when it comes to blow-drying your hair, and it is the Difference. Okay, this whole video is really boil down to this one little tip. Thank you for watching everything else. You have to direct the flow of the air and the direction of your hairs. Cuticle, quick refresher, your hair has a cuticle layer goes around the outside and it basically looks like lots of little shingles on top of each other. When those shingles are raised, your hair gets tangled a lot. It gets frizzy, it doesn't have shine, it looks dull. Oh, it also breaks more easily that's fun and one way that you can create frizz on your own hair is blow-drying the cuticle up, because up means fritzsche, basically at any given point when you're directing the flow of air at your hair, you need it to be Flowing from root to end, so if your hair is directed upward and you're directing from root to end you're still right, it just needs to always be flowing from the top to the bottom of the hair. You can kind of think about it like one of those little sequin pillows, where you rub one way and it's one color and then throughout the other way, and it's like pretty sparkly sequins when you are smoothing the cuticle down, it is all pretty sparkly sequins and That'S what we want so, when you're doing the tips from the rough dry, you want to make sure that your hairdryer is pointed in the direction that the rest of the hair is going. So if you are going this way, your dryer is going from the roots to the ends. If you are going this way roots to ends, if you are going this way roots to ends, I made my point clear. Yet it makes a huge difference in the outcome of your blow-dry and the reason I bring it up now is because we're going to talk about using a round brush with a blow dryer fun stuff. So that's what direction to point your hairdryer! Let'S talk about how to use this thing, because this can be so confusing for just one simple little tool. First, things. First, you never want to take a section that is bigger than your brush. Take this brush, stick it on your head. This is as long and as wide as your section can be, so you cannot pick up hair from here to here and try to blow-dry it. No, you lose control. What do you do that you lose results when you have to do that? Some of this is gon na. Try out the way that you want - and some of this is not gon na - do a single darn thing. We want to make sure that we're always taking a section, the size or slightly smaller than our brush like, so you get better results and it is significantly more manageable. So that's rule number one, take the right size section and then to use your brush correctly in the hair. I want you to grab whatever round brush or round brush like thing you have around and we're just gon na practice, spinning it you're gon na. Take your thumb and forefinger and you're gon na spin the brush. Whenever I do this, I think about those old-school lollipops from the 90s, where it just would spin it for you you're, basically that machine right now and once you've got it down like this practice. It in a different direction practice it in a different direction. Practice it in a different direction, because you're gon na be doing that on your hair and once you have this down, you've got like 90 % of it down. I'M gon na be honest, then switch hands and practice it. On the other hand, charge was seeing at the other direction. I am much better with my right hand than with Bella, but I do use both when I blow-dry, because sometimes it's easier and then once you get it in the hair. The reason that we do that twist is to help create tension on the hair. Tension is basically pulling the hair and the reason that we're getting that slight bit of pulling going on is so that we can direct the hair exactly where we want it and we can smooth it with the brush and the direction it's supposed to be. So not only is the air from the blow-dryer making your cuticle nice and sparkly your brushes as well, but it's also helping with getting it dry. So you want to make sure that you're going over your area and you start up at the root and you get the root dry once the root is dry, you can move down further and then a little further and a little further. My kind of easy way of doing that is that at the root I will do my little twisty thing. You might a little lollipop twist, you kind of pull and twist you pull any twist, and I do that because I want the root to be nice and tame, because that's where a lot of flyaways are that's where a little curly bits can be. That'S where cowlicks can be so we want to get that tamed and then in the middle of hair. I take a break. I just glide the hair and the hair dryer in the direction. I want it to go and get it all nice and smooth, and once you get the ends you're gon na twist again, because this is smoothing action, it's also bending the hair. So if you want to bump it under, this is also how you bump it under and you're gon na keep the hair dryer on there until you're ready to take it off, and then I recommend doing just a couple little twists without the hairdryer, because that gives The hair a chance to cool down and then, when you take it off, you've, got a nice, pretty cooled and sleeked dry section. So that is your basic round brush technique twist and the smooth at the root you do what you got to do through the middle twist and smooth at the end. Here are some ways that you can mess with that. If you want you can, if you want some more fullness and volume in the middle of the hair, you can do your twist and spin here, because that's gon na create a little bit more of kind of a bubbly effect and that can be SuperDuper cool. If that's what you want, if you want to create waves - and this is gon na work - much better on longer hair than my hair, but if you want to be able to kind of create waves, you're gon na go down to the end. Do your little twist and spin and then you're gon na roll it up, let it cool hit it with a cool shot button. If you want to and then twist the hair brush in whatever direction you want the curl to go. So for me, away from the base and as the hair comes off, it gets put into a fun little ringlets, whatever you do, don't touch it until it's cool and then you can run your fingers through it and you'll have a nice little wave final thing. I want to teach you guys is direction with the hair. Your normal direction is the direction that your hair lays. So when I've been demonstrating and I've been using this 45 degree angle straight down the way that my hair normally lays that's going with my hair's direction. That'S gon na get you lots of smoothness minimal volume. If you want a lot of volume, you want to use over direction, which basically, that you're going against your hair's natural direction. We'Ve touched on this a little bit. I'M just gon na touch on it again. The height and direction at which you hold your brush impacts the volume of your section. So if I want a ton of volume, I can go up like this. With my hair dryer pointed up - or I could also go forward like this with my hair dryer - pointed forward because anytime, you dry your hair in one direction and then you move it to go the opposite, you're, creating volume. So just keep that in mind. If you want to create volume, the easiest least arm intensive way is to brush the hair forward, but also another really great way is to brush the hair straight up or even completely the opposite direction at like an obtuse angle and go that way. It can be a little harder, but if you're up for it, that will get you the volume and finally, before I show you this all coming together on my hair, two more tips. First of all, whenever you're blow-drying your hair, unless you have it on the cool setting the whole time, it's gon na be at least a little bit warm. If you want to really set the shape that you're trying to make like, if you're, trying to create a wave or a bump under or really really smooth hair, you go through heat it up first and then hit the cool shot button on your hair dryer right Here and you cool it down, and that helps to set everything in place, and it also helps your cuticle to just where it belongs. You get extra extra shine and you set your style in place and, of course, if your hair is a little bit harder to get into the shape that you want, you can put it back up into a curl and let it cool. So if I was trying to get a nice curve here, I could wind the hair back up into a little donut, pin it against my head and let it cool while I'm doing the rest of the blow-dry and that way when you take it down, you've got A nice springy bouncy curl, instead of something that might have fallen a little bit as you've been drying. Okay, so now that I have given you guys all of that information, let me show you how it comes together on my hair and we're gon na cut to wet hair, Kaylee and three two, what all right, but that is my blow-dry routine. Now this is full out for me and I really like it. I lapel swishy it is. I love how voluminous it is. I like that my hair is extra, shiny and soft. I really love using the Dyson. That thing is one powerful tool and it does all the things it says it does, I mean, but I've been really enjoying it. Let me know in the comments below, if you're picking up any new tips from this or let me know if there's any that I should know, because I would like to learn more. So tell me in the comments below thank you to Dyson for sponsoring today's video and now for the giveaway I'm giving away a set, just like the one that I used in today's video. The past couple months have been crazy, absolutely insane and I feel like I want it to go to somebody. That'S been on the front lines. That'S been working really hard, maybe whose life has been super displaced by this whole thing. It'S not the world that doesn't fix everything. You know it's just like a nice thing to be able to do for somebody that has been working so hard for all of us. So in that effort I would like for you guys to nominate someone that you know that would be deserving of a sweet little gift like this. So if you want to you can go to this Instagram picture and tell me about them in the comment section. That is how you can enter full rules down below in the description box. Again, it's not everything, but I want to at least do a little something to help I'm gon na be going through and deeming the winner so be sure to check that out. Obviously, make sure that if you get a DM for something that looks like me, it's actually me. We know how giveaways work and you know if you want, even though it's not the way to enter the giveaway. You can tell me in the comments down below about people that have really been killing it over the past couple of months. I think it's really important to keep celebrating each other and how hard we're all working in our own ways to get through this and finding ways to help people and to give back. I know in my own life I'm fighting as many ways to give back as I can, and I think we all just need to keep thinking about how we're in this together and we're working so hard. So I hope this is one little way that I can be part of that and yes, happy entering I'm really looking forward to hearing people's stories and just one more big. Thank you to Dyson. I super love working with any brands that I really believe in, but also I really appreciate having a sponsor at a time like this, because I obviously want to keep the lights on here. I want to keep paying my employees and being able to work with really great brands that I believe in helps me to be able to do that, and I very much appreciate it that got real deep, but I hope that you guys did enjoy today's video. Oh, I guess I should do a video on how to clean your hair brushes now that we're all stuck at home - and you guys have already cleaned all the normal stuff there is to clean and/or you've invented three new cocktails. There'S two kinds of people in this world:

Zainah Ebrahim: I would actually like a video all about brushes

Arijana Muratovic: Am I the only one that gets a round brush stuck in my hair?

Hannah Dare: I love how your videos have been like full length episodes! I feel like I’m watching “the Kayley Melissa show” every week

Weirdo: I’m only at 1:47 and GIRL. This blue shirt, your eyeshadow, your blowout and hair color, IT IS WORKING FOR YOU ON A WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL Seriously friend, you are beautiful

Jessica Jones: "Eh-smooth!" Totally going to say that when I finally start styling my hair again This video has been SOO helpful, thanks for walking through everything and for the great examples and visuals! I've been without a hair dryer for years and am pretty sure I gave up because I didn't really understand what all I could personally do with it. I'm super excited to give it a fresh try!!

Ana Lorena: Kayley: I could do a whole video on brushes Me: PLEASE DO IT

Laura B: Perfect! I've been trying to learn this, so very helpful video! On my first attempt i got the round brush stuck in my hair. Had to spend like 30 minutes detangling a one inch section lol. So my tip for people who don't do this often is to make sure your brush is pretty clean, remove all of those stray hairs. once I did that it didn't get caught in my hair nearly as easily.

Silvia Pagliari: Never have I seen a more instructive video on how to get a blowdry at home! Thank you Kayley!!! Now it’s all clear for us non-hairstylists

fictionalhuman: Very well made as always, Kayley! I’m sitting here with my naturally curly/wavy hair, wondering how I can get the “sparkle sequins” while using the diffuser to scrunch up my curls while drying though.

Amanda Grace: I loved this video Kayley! Such great tips and tricks. I've been doing blow outs on myself for years (perks of a hairdresser best friend teaching you all of the things + a shit ton of practice!) I wanted to remind everyone it takes A LOT OF PRACTICE. Do not get discouraged, heat can fix anything when you're running out the door until you master this technique. Or just leave it since we are all stuck inside anyhow. Ha! I did like the twist technique and I will be trying that next time! Love it! ❤️

Chelsey Sterling Coaching: Loved this!!! ❤ This is the video I needed when I was first learning at-home blowouts years ago. I'm pretty good at blowing out my hair these days, but I picked up a couple of tips from this video. Thanks, Kayley!! ❤

Jennifer Bryant: I am a cosmologist and have been considering purchasing the pro dryer dyson offers. From a professional stand point, do you feel like it holds up to the wear and tear of daily usage in a salon setting? Really curious to know your thoughts! I love your channel and it has helped me with so many techniques where hair is concerned!

Joanna B.: Hi Kayley :D LOVED this video so much!!! I never really got great results from blow-drying my own hair, and I now realize it was because I was doing several things wrong.... hahaha :) This is the most informative, patient, honest, and genuinely helpful blow-drying video I have EVER watched!!!! Thank you!! :) I already have a Dyson, but my set didn't come with a brush or a comb. Is the wide-toothed brush you are using just called "Dyson Detangling Comb" on their website (I see it available to buy separately)? I love how you used it for rough drying! There is also a new Gentle Air attachment that I really want to try, for those days where I just need a little touch-up dry in certain spots after removing my shower cap! Do you happen to please have links you can post, just to purchase the accessories? I would love to click through your link and send you some love in my own small way! Muah!! :)

Lizzrosee: This was so helpful! I’ve never tried using a round brush properly because I get in a big tangle haha! So now I know what to do... bring on big bouncy blow dry! Xx

Tracy Benson: Great tip I learned for extra volume is to put the Mohawk section on the top in velcro rollers after you dry each section instead of pinning it, that way you keep your root volume while it sets

CatMos: I'm so excited about this video. I never dry my hair because when I try I usually sit there for an hour working on it and walk away with it still looking incredibly damp. I'm old enough it's embarrassing to admit that I don't know what I'm doing.

Celeste Stratton: I squealed when I saw a Wednesday Kayley video!! While I am in my natural habitat with my cats at home, I would like to acknowledge all the parents at home with kids! Having limited activities and locations and not having childcare can be soooooo difficult! Stay strong everyone.

Quotelation: Bless you for giving such a detailed explanation! I've always struggled with blowing my hair dry, and felt like the results weren't worth the time and effort. Maybe with some practice I can make it work for those times when I do want to look a little more polished.

Heidi A.: anyone else been binging kayley during quarantine?

Valeria Zhuravska: Thank you! I haven't been blow-drying my hair during quarantine, so it seems that I've forgotten how it's done. I will definitely rewatch this when the quarantine is over.

Julia Hildebrand: When you have curly hair and air dry and don’t even own a blow dryer but you watch anyway cause you love Kayley ❤️

Abby Cook: YAAAAS thank you! I’ve been waiting for all of this info in one simple tutorial

Suzanne van den Berge: I absolutely loved your tips!! Never knew that you actually damage your hair if you blow dry it from a different direction than roots to the rest. Will definitely make a difference with my hair!! I think your giveaway is awesome, soo great you are doing that for the people who have helped everyone in these times!! Greetings from the Netherlands

Zsófia Nagy: This might be my favourite video so far besides the how to- curl videos. Soooooo educational! Awesome, thank you! ❤️

JudyLovesNaps: Yes to the video on brushes! Also what a great, detailed video Kayley! You're really killin' it with the videos! <33

Nitya Chagti: I first learned how to blowdry my hair from you in 2013 and now I'm learning again ❤️ Thank you!

Amanda L'Heureux: I absolutely love Anna Laura and her beautiful bubbly energy in your videos but I have to say it was really nice getting a pure information video from Kayley again. Your professionalism has always put you a step above other hair channels on YT-- almost like the Lisa Eldridge of hair YouTube. But please don't think I'm insulting your sister because she's lovely!!!!

Cacoa Dentry: THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED!!!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH KAYLEY FOR THIS!!!!! I have hair that is a good inch shorter than yours and it NEVER stays bumped under when it gets blow dried- I get soooo annoyed!!!!!! Thx again

kaitlyn woodward: LOVE these long/in-depth tutorials! Really helpful information!

Lauren Bennett: I just fully dried my hair with a nozzle thingy on the end of my dryer for the first time ever and I can’t believe how smooth my hair is! My dryer is really strong and I usually hate using it because of how tangled my hair gets. I didn’t use a round brush I just used my fingers because I was planning to straighten my hair in the morning before I go to work but I don’t even think I’ll need to do this!!

Violet Rose: I think I learnt how to blow-dry my hair for the first time from your videos back in the days and years later I learned new techniques today from this video Love you, Kayley

Ringlet Reina: This video is fantastic! Just invested in a Dyson and so excited about how quickly I can get a blowout done in the salon now. Especially with these extra tips!

ItsPlums: I’m so happy I’ve just tried giving myself a blowout the other day I was looking for a video this video is everything I needed

tiffany berna: Well I did miss Anna Laura and the great chemistry the two of you have, it was nice to have a more technique driven video with tips and instruction!

Rachel Wacker: Isolation provides the perfect time to do "practice makes perfect" with Kayley's tips and some of her harder hairstyles. They aren't necessarily hard, but I'm a freshman in high school with fairly long somewhat difficult hair and usually don't have time. But, if I need a hairstyle, I turn to Kayley first

Mallen Girl: I'm still in hair therapy about my attempt to wrap hair around the round brush to create curls #nightmare#. Now the only curls in my hair are the result of either a curling wand or flat iron. Loved the video.

Brina F: Thank you! I'm going to try all of this! I would love a video about brushes! It's very sweet of you to do such a give away.❤ Lots of love to you and Pippin! Stay safe!

Britte Vermeulen: Loving this masterclass ♥️

serenitatis507: Hey Kayley!! Thanks for the tips!!! I’ve been following you since forever and LOVE your videos!!

J Abesames: 41 years of my life and this is the first video that has explained blow drying clearly to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Inge: One of my first video's i watch of you. You are so cute, funny and warm hearted!! Thank you for the positive vibes Almost gave up trying to blow dry my hair but im gonna try again :)

Sea Life nails: I was waiting for a video like this. I have these baby hairs in the front of my face that like to "wing" up and it looks ridiculous so this has helped me. Next time I have to blow dry my hair I'm going to try some new things. I have a round brush but I've been scared to use it. Also I have discovered recently that if I use the cool shot button after I blow dry, it leaves me hair less frizzy and shiney. Its definitely useful for living in a humid state like Florida. Thank you for this! Also, yes on the brush video and how to clean the brushes bc I have a brush I like to use but it looks disgusting lol

megan hunter: Thank you for being a lovely light in this crappy time. I've just watched this and the hot tools video whilst I'm recovering from a cheeky bit of Corona. Love all that you do thank you for keeping going

Julia - juliacreativeproject: I was literally searching for a blow dry video last week! And now the queen of hair delivers! Thanks :)

Cristiana Helena: I started to watch beauty videos on YouTube 10 years ago, you were one of the firsts I subscribed, and one of the few I keep watching since then! I've learned so much from you! You are very sweet for doing this giveaway!

Izadora: this is everything i've ever wanted!! thanks for the tips, queen!!!! <3

the may: I love that for the thumbnail, you’re chillin with natural face. Thank you for being real. Love you

Mish: I rarely use my wahl blow dryer because I end up looking like a frizzball. I cannot thank you enough for all these tips because I've been doing it wrong my whole life. Can't wait to try them on my long hair eek!! Who knew you can create waves and shine with a blow dryer??

Nicole Abbott: This is so useful! My hair has two different textures! On the top it’s pin straight and underneath it’s curly!

Zsuzsi László: Tried it once or twice, almost ended up having to shave my hair off because the brush got stuck in it. Been terrified of giving it a blow out eversince. Your tutorial made me want to give it one more shot though... keep your fingers crossed for me

Lisa Stewart: Thank you so much for the awesome tips! I definitely learned some new techniques that I had never heard before!

Marlien DS: I really liked it when you had your friend with curls come in to talk about hair products for curls. My curls could use them tips

Vanessa M: Found your channel through Allana Davison and I’m so glad I did! This is so helpful and I’ve learned a lot! Great video and I’m already a fan!

Cyra de Silva: Thank you. I always get the round brush stuck in my hair so I will try you tips and techniques ❤️

Zsófia Nagy: Also, if you would think about opening a hairdressing school, I would be absolutely down to join! And to clearify, I would fly from Hungary to the USA, to participate ❤️

Elise: Love the tip about curling your hair with the brush. Definitely going to try that out!

Laura Jenkinson: Thanks so much! I know this is an older video, but my husband has got me a Dyson for Christmas (I haven’t opened it yet) so I’m excited to have had a tutorial first

Mary Ann Tjemsland: Roundbrushes are scary. I'm terrified off it getting stuck in my hair. Would love a video about brushes and espesially how to work å round brush and how to not get it stuck ❤

jenna greer: This was SO helpful! Thanks Kayley

Jordan Lexton: My heart stopped when you wrapped your hair all around the round brush. I've had a bad experience, don't wanna talk about it.

Mitz Guerrero: Waiting for the "Cutting my own hair" video from Kayley Melissa. Expectations during quarentine - ir just expectations from a long-term follower

Emi Pellegrino: I'm naturally curly and never blow dry my hair , but I'm just watching cause I'm a Kayley fanatic

Nicole Fernando: Wow that was so helpful, i didn't know i needed this video. Thank you !!!

Seraphina: I would really like a video on how to clean your hair brushes! ❤️

Bri Baker: I absolutely love my Dyson! I learned some new tips that I need to try now.

Rebecca Blashock: Absolutely BEST hair blow out tutorial I have ever seen! Why did no one ever show me these tips in all my years on this planet? Thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart!!! :D

Katy Janelle: Love this!! I love your hair videos because I’m more of a makeup person and always need more tips when it comes to my hair!! I’m thinking about doing a hair routine video on my channel though because people always say my hair is so pretty, but I’m no pro like you are lol

Lakhdeep Jaswal: Kayley blowdrying with the round brush and looking in the camera gives me the same chaotic energy as Andy from BA's test kitchen chopping and looking at the camera

Lindi Engelbrecht: What a lovely gesture in this time. ♡ thank you for the tips, I am off to blowdry my hair :). X

NAIL NERD: I love my Dyson hair dryer! I got it 2 years ago and although it is ridiculously expensive it is worth it.

Lauren Richardson: This video is so helpful!! Thank you.

Emily Snyder: your brother should give us a blow dry tutorial! we've seen anna laura so we obviously already know your family is great :P

Raina Bandekar: love your videos so much. I have a question. What is the best way to pick up sections while blowdrying?

C Tran: I have hair that reaches my hips and a lot of it so I’ve never been able to blow out my hair bc it just tangles in the round brush and I have no patience for blow drying my hair either. I am so curious how long it would take a Dyson dryer. One day I may splurge but not likely soon. You must love your little brother a LOT to give him your dyson LMAO.

theo: I learned so much watching this video thank you!!!

Vale Abarca: Can you do a video on those brush hair dryers, I’ve seen they’ve been super popular lately and I was hoping you could do a video like reviewing it and explaining how to get a good blowout

jerry gai: I LOVE THIS!! IM TRYING IT NOW

jenpre98: Hey Kayley! Could you possibly do some hairstyles that works with glueless wigs? I have alopecia areata and wear a wig whenever I'm going outside and starting to really miss doing fun things with my hair but pretty much everything I try ends up showing the sides of the wig. Love you~

Karelyn LeClair: Wonderful tutorial!

Erica Bertels: With a blowdryer and a brush I can’t do a blowout to save my life i used to just put my head down and just blowdry and then finish it off with my straightener I now have the revlon styling brush thing, saved my life AND less hear so less damaging. Win win but thanks for all the tips

Claudia C: Hey Kaley! Thanks a lot for that video, definately gonna try some of this myself. Please, could you make a video reguarding the type of brushes? Having very fine hair myself, I struggle finding the right brush to style or dry my hair. Thanks :)

Jimmy Cardashian: hey kayley!i love watching blow out tutorial !i know the importance of the direction of air flow.and i recently bought the onestep dryer by revlon and i feel like its wind is coming out radial(dont know is that the right word).and it doesnt smooth the hair in theory.what do u think?

Kiley Dix: I have wavy/ curly hair and a cowlick on the back of my head that make it looks like I have a bald spot. Is there a way to fix that with waves/ curls? Or should I just keep using dark dry shampoo to cover it? lol

oooh19: a few hair related questions: 1) don't extensions damage hair? 2) do some hair products make hair go gray earlier? 3) how come straight hair can frizz as well not just curls? (honestly sometimes curls are much neater and more put together than straight hair. also I never understood the curl hate. I have straight hair and it's not sleek. also straight hair can vary just like curls or waves. I have friends who have thinner and less hair and it can be too silky or oily. I have more hair it appears thick but really just fine hair more strands but it can get dry. waves/curls can be pretty.) 4) why is it easier to straighten hair than to curl it?

Gabriel Hanssens: I saw that exact blowout on late 70s early 80s commercials and I fell immediately in love with it but i thought it was a wet set and i wasn't able to wrap my head around it now i know how i'll wear my hair this Christmas

lorna stone: I want to start off by thanking my fiancee, mum, brother, and some of my closest friends for supporting me emotionally during this time. I didnt cope when I was told to completely shield for 12 weeks due to ulcerative colitis medication. I work for the NHS in an outpatient department and have a background working as a healthcare assistant so I thought ok once my department closes I will volunteer to redeploy and help out on a ward, ICU or a&e. I then recieved a text (11in total) and a letter (4 in total) telling me I'm at a high risk of becoming seriously ill from covid-19 and must remain in my house for the next 12 weeks, no exercise, no food shop, no work just house or garden if I can stay 2 meters away from my neighbours. I felt as if I had let everyone down because I could be helping if it wasn't for some stupid medication. My friends and family have helped me so much to get past those feelings and try to help in otherways. So I am working from home calling my patients to see how they are getting on. Secondly, I have the dyson air wrap and very fine hair but lots of it. It's also very curly/wavy (natural ringlets and waves all at once). I can get the volume done easy with the paddle type attachments but it just becomes a giant fluffy pile on my head and cant get it smooth and straight. Any tips? Finally loving your videos. Just learned how to dutch braid using your star trek trick. Never managed before I saw your video on that.

Iki n: I came to this video after watching your rant about Dyson styling pack so to see Dyson sponsoring you after that video .. you go girl

Thestoragestudio: Great video! And great editing job!

Amy Verrette: With the Dyson, do you use the smoothing nozzle or the styling concentrator for the blow out and which one do you use when you style with the brush?

Sarah Paul: Kayley, you are literally the best. Love ya and your videos!

Anushka Datta: I once got my mom's round brush stuck in my hair as a child and I was scared to tell her so I CHOPPED MY HAIR AROUND IT AND LIED WHEN SHE ASKED ME IF I CUT MY OWN HAIR.

Dani P: Would love to see reviews on blow out creams..low to high end

Tiara O'No: Honestly, I just assumed you couldn't get a full blowout on yourself... guess I was wrong! I'm going to take and use all of your tips! thank you!

Emily Baik: If only December me knew this, before I tried to give myself a blowout with a round brush, and had to cut the brush out of my hair.

MrsNineify: I really had to laugh when you said to use a product so that your hair dries faster.. My hair is so thin it already dries so fast that I cant really do a blowout as it dries fast than I can blowdry :D

Olivia Martin-Pinon: Do a whole video on brushes, girl!!!

Kelly Brinkerhoff: Lotsa great tips! Thank you!

Ringlet Reina: Okay, but the visual of sparkly sequined fabric is FANTASTIC. Going to use that to help explain to my future clients!

Vanessa Andriano: OOO YES DO A VIDEO ON HOW TO CLEAN HAIR BRUSHES!!!!

Ezzie Pt: I love you and your videos because they have helped me a lot
