Hey everyone Kayley your friendly neighborhood, hair stylist here and today we're answering the question: why won't my hair hold a curl.? I have lived that hard-to-curl hair life and even though my hair is a lot easier to curl now I still have a lot of tips to help you guys out with., So I'm excited to get into it. If you're excited about the topic of today's video consider hitting the like button to help support my channel and if you're new here, you can subscribe and join the braid-aholic family here on Kayley and Melissa. And before we get into it. I want to point out that I did a video on how hot should your curling iron be, and I think that would be very helpful for this topic, so instead of reprising that entire video, I will just link it above and below.. I'Ve also done a video on my fine-hair journey and the tips and tricks that have resulted from that, and I will link that above and below as well, because I think, if you're coming here for answers on curling your hair, those two videos would help you as Well. So that being said, let's jump into the actual subject of the video how to get your curls to last.. One reason your curls might not last is that your hair is just too healthy.. That'S most likely the case. If you haven't colored your hair, a lot. If your hair doesn't to through a lot of heat styling and if it's naturally a smoother sleeker texture. And when your hair is in that really healthy state, especially if it's virgin hair, that means that its outer shield, the cuticle layer, is super-duper strong.. You have to get in through the shield to be able to curl the hair., But basically you have an extra wall of security that those of us with very bleached hair might not have.. So what's the answer to that? Well, I mean the first easy answer. Is that you could damage your hair a little bit.? So if you wanted to do some highlights some balayage play with color just know, it would help your hair to hold a curl better., Not necessarily a reason to do it. But if you need more reason to go for that, color changing you've been thinking about. There'S one. Anna, just yelled from across the room :'' Go into the salon to change your color.''. We don't need you ending up in a Brad, Mondo video. I agree. Go into the salon, if you're thinking about changing your color., But if you wan na keep up with the super healthy hair, but you wan na be able to curl it as well. I think the tips that I'm gon na give you are gon na help you with that, because I had virgin hair through the first like year, two years of my channel and I curled my hair and I made it work. And I'll. Tell you guys how to do that.? So if you think you might be in that category, just go ahead and file that away as we go through the rest of the tips.. The next reason your hair might not hold a curl. Is that you're using too much moisture on your hair.? What moisture is good for your hair.? Yes, it actually is, but if you hair is resistant to holding a curl, then things like oils on your hair are actually going to weigh it down and make it harder to curl.. So, depending on healthy, your hair, is you can kind of back off the oil.? If your hair is a little bit less healthy like mine, then you can still moisturize your hair in the shower and stuff, but I wouldn't necessarily go through putting an oil on your hair. You use maybe a light-weight leave-in conditioner to none at all.. If you're hair is resiliently healthy, just so healthy, it goes boing back to straight. As soon as you try to curl it, then you could start cutting back the moisture, even more., So maybe just a very light rinse with the conditioner in the shower and then nothing else until you heat style, it. And you might be wondering wait - is that bad For my hair and the thing is you always have to take into consideration that hair that you're, starting with, because what could be bad for some people's hair might not be bad for your hair.. If your hair is really that healthy and you've got the double-walled security, then yeah you can cut out the conditioner and your hair will be totally fine.. If you had somebody like me with super-porous hair, and I did that weekly or daily, that would not go well.. So again, categorize yourself use the information there.. On the other hand, you could be neglecting some products that would really help you and those are products that add hold.. Now I know when we think of products that add hold, we all automatically think of hairspray.. If you're in the fine-hair category, then lots and lots of hairspray espy lots and lots of super-hold hairspray is just gon na, create a massive sticky mat and we don't want that., Raise your hand in the comments. If you've been personally victimized by extra-hold hairspray., I don't have enough hands. Let'S put a foot up there.. Not only do I know that Anna Lar was victimized by super-hold hairspray. She was victimized by gel a fine-toothed comb and then super-hold hairspray.. I was not joking with her gymnastics bun., I'm both proud and aghast.. So, okay, hairspray, might not be the answer. What is.? I love utilizing, products that are activated by heat and those are typically ones that you're supposed to put in when your hair is wet.. Now, if you put them in when you're hair is wet, and then your hair is dried either by the air or through a blow dryer. The product's still on your hair and it's still gon na be activated even more by your hot tools. And the even better thing about those products is that they're typically meant to be super-duper, touchable and easy to work with.. So I picked out some favorite's from my hair closet. Apologies. A lot of these are salon. I need to get into the drug store and try out some new stuff. It'S been too long., But if you have a favorite drug store product within this realm, let me know in the comments'cause. Obviously I need to try some new ones out.. So the first category of kind of wet-to-style products that I like are mousses and most mousses add hold. That's kind of their purpose., So you can pick just a basic mousse like the SGX One or you can pick something that does something like adding volume.. If you need it, maybe your hair is damaged and still a little hard to curl.. You could use something that adds a little bit of shine, maybe just a little bit of volume.. It kind of lets you customize what you want a little bit more.. I do find mousses give a little bit of a hairspray texture to the hair in the sense that it will feel a little bit more produdct-y and a little bit more like faux hold-y. I don't know if that makes any sense., I might have just been using products for too long., But it's also very, very effective.. The next product that I love in the wet-to-dry category are blow-dry balms.. Now these can come in all shapes and forms. You definitely have to read the back and see what they offer because some add hold some. Don'T you want one that adds hold. And again if your hair is really hard to curl, you definitely don't want to pick one. That'S super-smoothing'cause, it's gon na be adding all the moisture in., But the balms can be really nice'cause their just a little more touchable they're, also a little softer.. So if you really need that intense hold, then go with the mousse, but if you like, really soft touchable play-with-able hair, the balms., The one I used today is this Kerastase L'incroyable Blowdry.. I think they actually sell this in a spray and in this kind of like jelly-serum consistency., I really like it. My hair looks really nice and smooth and pretty, and it holds a lot better when I use this. Another one. That would be good for those of you guys with more smooth silky hair. Naturally, is the Bumble & Bumble, Thickening Great Body, Blow Dry Creme.. This one adds a little bit of roughness as in enough to make your hair more normal and volume and a great amount of hold.. So I would recommend this if you're in the super super-shiny healthy category. And of course there are heat protectives out there. That are meant to add in hold.. A favorite of mine is the Ouai Memory Mist., But there are a lot of others out there that are equally as good.. The next reason your hair might not be holding a curl is that you are not utilizing the heating to cooling process.. Now I talked about this a lot in my how hot should your curling iron be video, so I'm just gon na go ahead and recommend you watch that if you want more information. But to surmise your curl actually forms when your hair cools down from being hot., Your hydrogen bonds temporarily break when your hair gets hot and they reform when your hair cools., They actually do the same thing when your hair goes from wet to dry.. So it's not a scary process. It'S not an inherently bad thing., But that's also why, if you go to bed with your hair wet and you wake up and it's dry in the morning, it's probably in some funny shapes.. So the way to use that, for your advantage, to make sure that your hair holds a curl is to let it cool in its shape.. You can do that either by not touching your hair whatsoever after it comes off the iron and giving it that chance to set, or you can go the extra mile and take your curl up right after it comes off the iron and clip it up to cool.. That way, gravity can't get to it, you're not tempted to run your fingers through it and then, when you take it back down it's much more robust., So I actually did a little experience to be able to show you guys the difference.. On one side, I clipped my hair up. On the other side, I ran my fingers through my hair to kind of mimic, my hair being harder to curl than it is, and this is the difference.. I just want you guys to be able to see that pining. Your hair up to cool can do so much., It's working with the natural chemistry of your hair and it's not taking a lot of extra work, but it can give you much stronger results.. Another reason why your hair might not be holding a curl is that you're using the wrong iron size. For me, if I were to use a one-and-a-half inch, iron or anything larger, my hair would definitely be straight by the next day, if not the end of the Day. With a two-inch iron, it would be straight immediately like no question., And I wanted to point that out, because a lot of you have talked about how your hair is hard to curl how it goes back to straight so quickly.. I don't know what curling-iron size you're working with, but it's very easy to assume that if you are working with like a one-and-a-quarter inch iron or a one-and-a-half inch iron and your hair's hard to curl yeah, it would absolutely go back to straight super-duper quickly.. So if your hair is hard to curl, I would start with a one-inch iron and maybe even go smaller from there'cause a three-and-quarter inch. Iron was my jam for a really long time when I had virgin hair. So going a little bit smaller helps because your hair is then going to loosen up and it's going to loosen up to the size, you're actually going for.. It'S kind of annoying that you have to cheat the system, but you can cheat the system and that's a really easy way to do. It. Piggy backing off going with a smaller curling iron. If your hair is really hard to curl, really healthy or really long, you might just need to reset your expectations., And I don't mean that you have to completely throw having some movement and body out the window. But I am saying that maybe you're not gon na have perfect ringlets all day every day for three days, straight. Honestly, my hair can't do that. Right now. The result of you putting a curling iron through your hair might be waves.. I'M sur. Those waves can still be really really beautiful as something you that you can still create great hairstyles with.. But I think the biggest thing is not to give up to keep trying figure out what works with you. But understand that most likely if you're hair is hard to curl. It'S going to loosen up at least a little bit from where you're working. And that's okay. That doesn't mean that it's gone back to straight or that all of the work that you put in wasn't worth it. It absolutely is because you've got something going on it. Just might not be what you see on Instagram. And honestly. What you see on Instagram is often taken right after the curls were done, not three days later., So I just want us all to like you know what our hair is great. Our skills are great you're doing great. A funny tip that I have learned in my own experience of doing bridesmaids, hair ,'cause. I'Ve had a lot of bridesmaids who have long thin virgin hair and have to have it curled for a wedding. That'S happening like five hours. After I'm doing their hair., The second pass through meaning going through and re-curling either a couple of sections or like half the hair really makes a big difference.. So if I have somebody sitting in my chair that has really long really virgin hair, I'm gon na do all the tips I just gave. You. I'm gon na be puttin' in product., I'm gon na be curling with a smaller iron.. I'M gon na clip it up. I'M gon na let it cool. I'm gon na, send her away to go chat with her friends. While I do somebody else's hair before I take it down., But then she's gon na come back over. I'M gon na take the clips out and more likely than not it's not gon na look quite the way I wanted it to.. So what I do is I go back through and I re-curl any pieces that look like they need it.. It might be a few pieces it might be up to like half the hair. Really depends on the girl.. But what I will say is, after that second time through it's there and I see the pictures from the wedding later and they're still there.. So it's a lot of work. It might be more than you wan na do, but if you're in that position, where you've tried all the other stuff and you're still a little meh, try doing a second pass and see if it helps.. Your hair might also not be holding a curl. Because you need some more practice. - And I know that's probably not the most fun thing to hear but think about the first time you applied mascara. Or even the 10th time you applied mascara or did your brows or trying to wing eyeliner or anything else. That was once hard for you and you can now do in the morning without coffee.. I can't do a winged-eyeliner without coffee, but everything else, I've got., It's a new skill that you're learning and you're gon na have a few times where it's not right.. So if you've tried it, you know three four five times and it hasn't worked out perfectly. That just means that you're still learning your hair. You're, both learning the skill of moving your curling iron through your hair and the skill of working with your own hair type.. I wan na give you as many tools that you can to really hone your own skills, but the thing I can't do for you is be there and practice and mess with it and troubleshoot whenever things aren't going right.. But I do hope that this video really helps you to figure out where you could tweak things to maybe get a better result. And there you go. Those are my tips and tricks to making your curls last longer.. Now again, if you haven't seen my fine-hair tips and you have fine hair, I recommend going and watching that'cause. I think some of those will help with this whole thing as well., But I do hope this video helped., If you guys, have any tips that I didn't talk about. Tell me in the comments below, because I'd love to hear. Or maybe there's a new tip that you learned about in today's video, tell me that in the comments'cause I'd love to know that as well.. So that being said, I hope that you enjoyed today's video.. If you did, you can hit that like button to help support my channel. If you're new, here you can click that subscribe button to join the braid-aholic family here on Kayley and Melissa and all of y'all can hit that bell like on to be notified every time. I post a new video., But that's it for today whether you are old or new or a casual lurker. Thank you for spending time with me and I'll see you in my next video muah bye. Log in to tuse. I don't even know what that means. ( Blows. Raspberry ) ( speaks gibberish. ) Read that one second buffering ( speaks gibberish ). My brain feels very full. I just said a whole lot of words. I need to go sit still for a while.

zoe allen: I naturally have very straight hair and since you mentioned using mousse a few videos back it has honestly been such a game changer, my hair can now hold curls/waves for up to 4 days! Thank you Kayley

Shelby White: Could you please do a video about making heatless curls last in the heat? Also, I love your sparkly personality and wonderful videos

Suzana Nanushi: THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED MY CURLS LAST FOR LEGIT MAX AN HOUR THANK YOU SO MUCH

Amelia Thomas: This video was super helpful! Also, I really love the colour of your background because it's not bright white and distracting, and it's not a bright colour that also distracts, and it's not too dark, and the colour always looks good with whatever you're wearing!

Emily Hartman: A tip I've discovered from years of experience trying to curl my straight, fine, healthy hair is that it will only hold curl if I curl it a certain way. Curling iron, flat iron, or flat wand curls fall out so quickly on me even with good product...but if I hold the hair and wrap around the wand, the hair twists as you wrap and the twist actually helps the curl to hold. So I guess the moral of the story is this: if your curls aren't working with one curling method, try another one!

TheGreatHusingi: Can 100% vouch for the smaller curling iron. I had a 1" barrel for years and my hair NEVER held the curl. I switched to a 1"-3/4" taper barrel and now my curls last for days!

xLouMe: YES i couldnt hold a curl for years bc my hair was way too healthy. Damaging my hair was really the answer to my prayers and i’m so annoyed no one told me sooner!

Hi Bye: I’ve been looking for a video like this for a long time! Thanks! Also, I think it would be cool to see some Stranger Things inspired hairstyles. :)

Emilija Marjanović: Great video! I have fine, never dyed and naturally very straight hair. I've struggled for a long time with curling it. I practise almost every tip that you've mentioned and it works. I just wanna to recommend a product that has helped me and it's from drugstore : Nivea Care & Hold line - the hairspray and especially the mousse.

naslundr7: Hi Kayley! “Long time listener, first time caller” here, haha. (For real, I discovered you in 2011 when I did my own hair for my best friend’s wedding! Your tips and tutorials have been changing my life since then!) I have long, coarse, naturally curly hair and I heat style it about half the time. My favorite style is using my wand to get curls similar to what you’re rocking in this video. Curls hold well for me because of my coarse texture, BUT I find that by day 2-3 my hair is very FLUFFY. Any products I could apply to keep the definition/lose the fluff without weighing the curls down? Thank you for everything you do and share with us!!

ielline: Thank you so much for this! My sister has virgin hair that's so hard to curl (mine is bleached and gets curled just by putting it in a clip ) I've tried everything except the second pass, I'm gonna do that next time

Violeticious: Thank you, Kaley! That video was super educational and I believe it will help me upgrade my curling game! And the color pallette in was joy to my eyes. I love playing with hot tools and I am always investigating new ways to make curls last while feeling silky and looking shiny and you mentioned some hacks I didn't know, so I'll test them. So excited!

Amelianna Ross: Hey Kaylee, I've watched you since your first videos and damn you never disappoint. My hair curls and stays because of all your tips previously but I never pin my curls up because I'm like meh. Thanks for doing that experiment I'm like oh...kaylee was right about pinning them up for more definition haha

Madeline: Anybody else watching this as someone with naturally curly hair that holds curl super easily, but just loves watching Kayley be Kayley for 13 minutes? I can’t be the only one.

Sarah Crawford: I love watching your videos! Your positivity is contagious! And as a fellow stylist I really respect your passion!

Bees & Yarn: Ahhh, my saviour! I’m definitely going to be using some of these tips when I curl my hair later today Ps. I got back from the US a few days ago, and while I was there I got the SGX mousse and the Kristen Ess leave in conditioner...ummmm...life has been changed forever

Laura Pierson: Love these videos where you give tips, tricks, and thing to trouble shoot when learning a new skill. The tips are always so helpful and even though you mention them in other videos it's nice to have one video to go to when i'm about to curl my hair or whatever skill in trying to learn. I'd love to see a video on different products (mousse, gel, balms, etc.) and what they are generally used for because I had no clue that mousse could help with curling hair.

singularity: Iron size is a great tip. My hair is down to my butt and the only way I can get a beachy curl/ wave is a 1 inch iron. It was a game changer. My 1.5 inch iron creates curls that drop after thirty minutes

Chloe Wrigley: I haven’t coloured my hair all that much. I think I’ve done it three times in my life. I would say that my hair is almost completely back to my natural colour. My hair never held curl ever until I started watching your videos and learning new methods and tips. Love your videos! ❤️

Gwendolyn Bois: Just got out of the shower ready to prep my hair for curling it later and saw this video! I’m going to an outdoor wedding and it’s 95 degrees in Massachusetts right now so this video is exactly what I needed today!

Shanon H: Love your videos so much!! They're so informative and helpful!!! =) I have a similar hair type as you, so your tips always help me! Thank you so much Kayley! <3

Jenn Lamb: I have hair that typically does hold a curl pretty well, but I have noticed that if my hair has a lot of product buildup they’ll fall quickly. Usually that’s my indicator that it’s time to do a clarifying wash. Love this video by the way. I learned how to curl my hair from one of your OG (green backdrop) videos and it’s helped so much.

Kassandra DuPont: Whole queen and a half!!! Thank you, I’m terrified to use heat on my hair, and it never really stays in. Love you so much!!!

Aisha Hoque: YES!! My curls never last unless I use a bunch of hair spray. Then its just a crunchy blob!!

im_mac_ulate: I have thin hair and I have found what has been a game changer for me is that after I wash my hair with warm water, I do a cold rise after that. It give my hair more volume as I blow dry it and my curls stay much much longer too! Additionally, I use a 1” iron and clip the sections after I curl until they are cooled in order to hold their shape.

haalloondricka: I always do overnight waves/curls (with braids and buns mostly) and have found that the pH in the water affects my hair. I spend most of the year in one part of the country where my hair holds waves/curls waaaaaay longer than when I'm in the other part of the country - and the only thing that differs is the pH value of the water as well as air humidity.

Susie Landis: My hair is super long and I don't use heat a lot so my hair hair has a really hard time curling but I tried just not using shampoo before I curled it and it lasted a full week and maybe could've lasted longer. I've gone through this whole thing of trying to keep curls and it wasn't working and I finally had a break through and I would just like to encourage those who are still trying to figure it out, don't give up!

Brittany Parmer: I love your videos! You always explain things so well that help me out soooooo much.

Krista Maii: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Just subscribed Love your energy!! P.s. thank you for your tips on curling my hair not sure if I want to change my hair color today but thinking about highlights ☺️ and layering my hair. Only down fall about cutting my hair is I like to tie it up in a high messy bun and I don't like the little hands/antennas that come out . Maybe a video recommendation that could help me out?

Rebecca Blashock: Great video, tips, and editing. Nice notes for us (visual learners)! Thanks! :D

HeyHyaHello: I have virgin, Asian, long, hard-to-curl hair. I can attest to ALL of these tips.

Shanna Wheeler: Try the Living Proof mousse. I'm a big fan and it's my go-to when I use mousse. Not exactly drug store priced, but really good regardless. I actually cut off about 6 inches of hair earlier this week so my curls will hold better. I'm still at bra length hair, but it was almost at the point of being able to get tucked into my belt lol. Amazing video as always! So helpful. I'm about to go pick up a thickening cream right now kthx lol

Rashell Geisler: Thank you so much for this video! Long, virgin, dine hair here! I’ll work on trying to remember to use the mouse I bought and use those clips to keep the curl lasting a little longer. ❤️

ccap3211: Have you noticed that the type of material the iron is made of makes much of a difference? Like ceramic versus titanium?

Eva: Great video, thank you!! Could you talk about how to keep your hairstyle overnight? Maybe you have before and I'm just completely missing the video..my hair is super fine and semi-wavy, but if I sleep on it it's DONE and I can't do anything but messy bun on day 2.

uberkatja: DRY SHAMPOO. My hair is sooo resistant to curls. Like I'll pin it up, use lots of spray, mousse, try it on dirty hair, everything, and it'll fall flat so quickly...like literally 10 mins and it was straight. As soon as I tried using dry shampoo instead of hairspray (and still pinned it, used the right heat setting, etc.), it was a GAME CHANGER. Like, curls lasted all day, and I still had softer waves/loose curls for day 2. I seriously douse my hair in it and then hairspray at the end, but if nothing works for you, I can't recommend it enough!

Juliette Maurer: Loved this video so educational. Thanks again for this amazing content

Sharie Fernandez: Perfect timing since I’m going to a birthday party tomorrow and I have fine hair so I was worried that my curls wouldn’t hold love ya Kayley

Deni: I think it also depends on the tool that you are using. When I bought new curling iron for like middle price, my curls finally started to hold. Before, I finished the curls, my hair was almost straight again. But now, when I use the conic or 3\4 inch it will last for 2 days (sort of). Unfortunately, I love 1 inch curls but they just won’t stay. Even if I pin them up to cool .

Keapix: This was really helpful. Thank you Kayley!

Rachel Thomas: Kayley, you’re videos are so goo!!!! Could you do a video on how to prep your hair for formal hairstyles?

slidewithme: I have super fine, very long, super healthy hair and two drug store products I love are both Garnier: The Root Amp mousse, and the Style Mega Full Thickening Lotion (it's like a less intense gel). I use both together (mousse on the roots, lotion on the length) and the difference it makes is like night and day, AND my hair gets greasy a lot slower. Typically I can't go without at least dry shampoo the day after I wash my hair, but if I use both of those after a shower, I can go the next day with just a brushing in the morning and it's still fine. They don't feel overly sticky or goopy after they dry, and don't brush out. Both are less than $5 on Amazon!

Nichole D: I love how encouraging you are.

🌸 Taija 🌸: Ironically (because I saw your video review on it), the only hot tool that gives me lasting curls is the Tyme Iron . Anything else does not last even with all the tricks in the works being put to use

EmilyRickers: As far as brands that you asked for suggestions, I have been trying Aussie brand, and I'm really liking it! I do have very healthy and thick hair, though, so it might work for you it might not. Thanks for helping me with alot of hair problems!!!

Margo: The very beginning she talks about hair too healthy is me. My hair doesn’t hold curl. My hair only curls if it was wet, then put in cork screw curl formers, and dried that way. That is the only way my hair curls

Viktória Völler: Thank you for this video, I have been looking for a one like this for a long time. :)

Nikoleta Hanakova: Hi Kayley, I would like to thank you very much for thr tip with pinning the curls up for cooling. I used this to style my friends hair for a wedding and after while night of dacing and some sleep afterwards, her hair still hold the curl. Her hair was normally so stubborn, that it would loose the curl quicly, even when she went to a hairdresser. So thanks to your tip my amature skills topped a professional hairdresser :-)

EPF: This video deserves so much more exposure!!!

Jen Drives A Jeep: Kayley ♥️ You are looking happy & beautiful! My one *BIG* tip is to use *SMALLER* sections when curling!

Anna-May Moon: As someone with super long thick virgin hair, I've found that heated rollers are amazing, I think babylis make a set? The thing that works best for me is taking small ish chunks of hair and wrapping them around the hot curler and leaving it for at least 2 hours (my hair takes a good half hour to cool down, and the rollers also take a half hour). Hair spray the crap out of your 1950s housewife do (it won't set on fire) and leave it for 2 hours at least. Take it out 10 mins before you need to go, run your fingers through it, maybe pin a few bits, hair spray again, then off you pop. Tips: - the longer you leave it, the more curled it will be - don't forget about them if you're going to the shops (unless you don't care about stares) - no vacuuming, toilet scrubbing and bake with caution - the roller must be hot when you put it in - practise before you do it for a night out, your head is smaller than you think it is, and how you part your hair makes a difference for roller placement

Andrea Dabovich: Big fan of your channel! I have pretty fine but quite curly hair naturally, any recommendations as to how to get a smooth curled look without having to completely straighten ahead of time?

Yvette Ou: THANK YOU SO MUCH KAYLEY!!! I'm gonna try some of these tips the next time i curl my hair! Also, i was just wondering if it's normal for your hair to smell a bit burnt/smoky after you curl it??

jakub b: I learnt this tip from Chris Appleton when he did JLOs super bowl hair. Curl the hair with a smaller iron to hold the curve and then go over with a larger iron to hold the shape

Mo O: Could you please do a video on how to keep your hair straight overnight/for many days?? I would love that!!

Kristin Whiting: Love Dove dry shampoo! And I’ve tried them all!

juniper moefu: Thanks for this! I have very long, very coarse Virgin hair that refuses to hold a curl even if I wet set. What I didn't understand was how to use mousse with heat tools? Did you mean apply mousse to wet hair, let it dry, and then use an iron?

Amanda L'Heureux: You look super gorgeous in this rosey pink color!!!!

antiviral13: Is it also a good idea to have sort of “dirty” hair? Dry shampoo or some texture spray before curling? I have thick hair that’s healthy but has been colored for almost 20 years. I find some dirtying the hair helps me

Katie Duncan: THE HOLY TRIFECTA OF CURLING VIDEOS FOR PEOPLE WITH STRAIGHT FINE HAIR Thank you Kayley!!!!! ❤❤❤

oooh19: thanks! curls are so pretty and glam. my hair is straight but some ppl envy it; nothing like a nice girly curl! my hair is hard to curl. I often wear buns or braids so it gets a bit wavy then

Marbella Elle: This was so helpful thank you!!! Bless.

Jaime Bellon: I learned a lot from you in this vid - I think the biggest thing was that I just need to play with my hair and be patient!!

Mindaurra: OMG THANK YOU. This is the video I really needed!

MHSchultz: This immediately helped me. I bought a curling rod and was nervous. Got my hair curled but didn’t think it would hold Just recurved a few pieces and damn it was amazing

Julianne: Love the video thank you! I would love to see a vid on fine curly hair tips, cuz I struggle lol

Erin Krening: tip 10: type of curling iron! the best curling iron i have used is the hottools purple tourmaline iron. every other iron gives my hair STATIC and doesn't hold as long. its super weird has something to do with the types of ions used.

Alana Marie: Can you do a tutorial on formal buns or half updos? I'm a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding and need inspo:)

Amy Mandeville: I was personally victimized by the extra hold hairspray (and curling irons) in the 80s

Abbigale Dae: Well that makes sense, when I use a smaller iron it curls amazingly. When I use a big iron that hair is flat in about 10 minutes

Meagan Vogelsang: my hair is backwards, when i let my hair dry in its natural wave pattern the back of my hair waves beautifully and the sides are more less uniform and more straggly. but when i blow dry and curl my hair, the sides curl beautifully and the back falls flat so fast. My own stylist was perplexed by that.

Linda S: Adding a little dry shampoo can also give the hair grip

Becky Wampler: I know this was last year, but I could REALLY use some drugstore product recommendations! I am so overwhelmed by the hair aisle at target. I have been victimized by bad products too many times lol

Caroline Petty: Please do a video on drugstore products for fine hair!

Indy Douma: Okayyyy, so this explains why my hair actually wants to curl after I bleached it blonde. It makes sense now

Minnie Fawcett: You are just so bubbly and positive just the start of your video makes me smile xoxo

Julia Hildebrand: I have naturally curly hair and still ask these questions! My curls slowly start dying like the day after I shower until I shower again

Krystal Morales: That first note makes so much sense why my hair doesnt curl despite having curly hair lol

Supernova: I’ve always been really lucky this way. Heatless curls will fall for me if I don’t use hairspray but if I use heat I’m good until I wash it.

honeyyeyes: this was such an amazing and informative video! I am getting married next month and was wondering what your favourite hair products and hair sprays are for wedding/bridal hair? I will be doing my own hair and it will be curls with no updo. I will need my hair to last all day and in humidity. What are you favourite hair sprays/products? any tips?

McKenna Shae: LOVED this video! How do you feel about beach salt sprays the help hold curls? On wet hair before styling or after on dry hair?

Nobody: I’m about to dye my virgin hair silver ombré. Can you do a video with tips to make sure your hair doesn’t get to dry after bleaching?

picklegirl18: It's always a pleasure to watch your videos!

Jordan Lexa: Bride with virgin hair with a bridesmaid with course straight virgin (Asian) hair here. Thank you!

Grace Bobel: after cutting my hair short, my hair holds a curl so much easier

Katherina Pappas: SUPER helpful, this video. Thanku sooo much. Im going to try these STAT

Claire Cgdashl: My hair is so thin the time it takes to curl a strand the other ones r back to straight Thx so much these tips change my life

Molly Jo: What I do is when I wash my hair I put about half a hand full of mousse on each side of my head and scrunch it a little, then sleep on it, or wait until it dries THEN bruch it out and curl it, it takes a bunch of the crunchies out

Forever a Child: Ahhh thank you I've needed this video for the longest time

Ana Maeve: Kayley, can you go on tour and do hair workshops pleeeeeease? I love you!

Amanda B: Can you PLEASE review the tyme iron????? Looks like magic but pretty sure Normal humans won’t get the results seen in the ad. Your review it’s the only one I’d trust. You’ve always been spot on for me. No bs, a real effort to make a product Ike it should and truth if it’s flawed. Pretty please?

ChampiChar: Loved the video, very helpful! Can you give some tips on how to 'restore/repair' coloured hair?

Alma Garcia: I’m loving all the pink! Especially your nails!

myong2206: ily kayley you have amazing content❤️

Gabriel Hanssens: i have pin straight fine virgin mid back length hair and i stopped using conditioner at every single wash, still couldn't hold a curl to save its life (like i did a wet set with 3/4" wide flexirods and it fell within a few hours), but it's the best decision i've made with my hair recently

Bethany Greiner: Yes!! Please do more drugstore products!!!!! =)

TheLeigha72: Extra-hold hairspray victim no more!❤️

Bansharee Parmar: I want this to work so bad!!

Lydia: Can you please do a video with heatless curls or overnight curls? Don’t know if you have done it but can you then do an updated version??

I H: I'm in this weird category where my virgin hair is super sleek and shiny and healthy and doesn't hold a curl, but if I dont use enough hair care products the strands around my face and any hair below shoulder length start to break
