So, if you're watching this video - and you have hair like this - you let it air dry and your like ... worry, not my friend.. We can make this look like something., I'm David Lopez and I'm going to do an enhanced, naturally wavy, hair transformation.. Before you see my hair transformation subscribe below., So I originally came to New York City to be an actor., And I got tired of bartending. LOL.. So I went to beauty school and it was a really crazy journey.. It was a struggle, especially getting celebrity hair.. I assisted., I was sleeping on couches for the better part of a year., And you know what I made that dream come true. Now work with people like Ashley, Graham Haley Bieber.. It'S been a really fun ride., So the hair transformation we have chosen today is enhanced. Naturally, wavy routine.: Let's take away the language not trying to control we're trying to enhance. It's really about embracing, whatever texture already lives on your hair. And we're going to enhance it with some techniques and products and maybe a hair extension or two. Okay. So before we get started, I'm going to go ahead and put on this hair.. That needs a little bit a little bit of an enhancing, and then we are gon na get started on our enhanced wave, transformation. BRB. And we're back with long hair that needs some help.. So the first thing I'm gon na do is go-ahead and wet this hair.. I just want you to see the texture before, so you can kind of recognize what it looks like. And I'm going to go ahead and pretend that I showered.. So I am gon na get this hair really nice and wet, because that is where this starts., How you detangle in the shower. That'S going to set you up for success. Rinse, your conditioner. Use a wide tooth, comb. I'll, be right, back.! Okay! So we are back from our shower.. What I'm going to do is apply a cream.. I suggest creams for hair like this, that tend to have a lil frizz and a squeeze just a nice amount into the palm of my hand.. Here'S. What I want to do for even product distribution., I'm going to glide over the surface glide like this and then squeeze in. Squeeze in.. I just want to make sure you really squeeze.. You want to hear that little bit of a scrunch in there.. Give your head a shake. Attractive. And keep squeezing that product in., While the hair is still wet like this, take a detangling brush or a paddle brush or a vent brush like this with the product in it evenly distribute.. If you see frizz, when it's wet you're going to see frizz when it's dry. Remember that., I discovered my passion for hair god, I feel like I was born with the passion for hair.. I had very vivid memories of instantly being obsessed with My Little Ponies, except I would hold them backwards and play with the ponytail instead of the actual My Little Pony., And then that transformed into doing my mom's hair doing my sister's hair., I'm Puerto Rican.. It'S a part of our culture to be obsessed with beauty in general.. It'S been a point of contention cause. I would struggle with my own hair, but also to express myself and bring confidence to others. Now to really amp it up we're going to take a microfiber towel, and I'm just going to lean over like this and we'll really give that hair a squeeze just like That., Regular cotton towels terry cloth, towels. They catch on those little frizzy hairs that happen around what I call the halo of your head.. So once you catch those it's kind of hard to go back from there.. So a microfiber towel is just a much smoother surface for the hair to not catch on to.. It'S all about just encouraging., You kind of have it remember what it's meant to do.. I do want to get a little bit of height here at my roots.. So what I'm going to do is take these creaseless clips put the clip in so it holds up that lift there., I'm just kind of pinching up grabbing and sliding in.. These creaseless clips are so helpful for so many things.. Okay. So now that we have the clips in holding it in place, you can do a couple of things. If you're home and you're not going anywhere. You can just let your hair air dry., But no touching, no touching, while it's drying. Or, alternatively, you can use your dryer and your diffuser.. So this is the T-3 Micro Cura, with a diffuser attachment.. What you're gon na do is start encouraging. Frizz. Look how much curls already happening.! Oh my god. Use your diffuser to mimic air drying., So just hold it around like this.. Once it's about like 60 to 70 percent dry, you can start encouraging the pattern., But let's go ahead, turn on the diffuser and get started. So now that it's pretty dry, what you're going to feel depending what kind of products you use you'll feel what I call The product cast, meaning that you'll feel it's maybe a little bit of crispiness., That's okay., You want that. And now what I'm going to do is take the diffuser, I'm gon na start scrunching and encouraging that wave pattern even more.. One thing that I am going to do with the dryer is turn the speed down, keep the heat the same, but just turn the speed down. So there's not as much airflow flowing out of the diffuser. Again, I don't want to encourage frizz.. I just want to dry it. Notice how I'm not touching the hair a lot as it's drying.. One of the keys to this look is that it stays purposeful.. If you start messing with it too much and you start kind of scrunching it as it's drying. You'Re going to break up that product cast. And then you're going to get that frizzy halo effect, which.. it ain't cute.. It looks like you just didn't know how you were doing your hair that day., While everyone's been at home, I've gotten a ton of questions on social media about you know, ``. I want to have a change.'' And I get the mentality of wanting to do that., But my number one advice for anyone wanting to do a big hair change at home during this time is to not., Please don't. You're going to create a lot of mess for Your stylist, that is patiently waiting for you. Just keep up with the hair treatments., Learn some new styles., Perfect any sort of styling techniques that you kind of always struggled with. Like you can master your curling iron master, your flat iron master, an updo master, a ponytail.. You can really master a lot of fun styles. While you are home., I cannot believe how much curl I'm getting.. This is what I'm always telling you guys.. Whenever you tell me, my hair doesn't curl it's just frizzy, I'm like listen, frizz is just a curl or a wave waiting to happen. So living proof right, here., Okay, so my hair is mostly dry now.. What I'm going to do is go ahead and take out these clips. Let these sections start to relax a little bit.. It'S still a little bit damp here in the roots. So what I'm going to do is pick up the hair, like this very gently and then use my diffuser to keep drying the roots. Hair. To me, it's everything from self-expression artistic expression to a political statement.. It'S confidence. We're in the business of giving people confidence. And when you have confidence, you're, better able to communicate your thoughts, your ideas and your feelings. People immediately assume that hair is such a. You know: it's just hair, it's just beauty., But it's so much more.. It really does hold so much depth and meaning for so many people., And so I'm just so lucky and so proud to work with this industry every single day., As if it couldn't get any better. I have another trick up my sleeve.. So if you are that person that has clip-in hair extensions sitting in your closet, looking crusty and dusty, pull them out girl., You don't need your clip-in hair extensions. Just to make your hair long., You can actually utilize your natural wave of your clip-in extensions.. These are amazing, amazing, clip-in extensions.. They have really thin little wefts that you can see, look just like that. And the wave pattern is amazing. And the quality of the hair is incredible.. So let's go ahead and put these in right. Now. You're gon na have your base, one, which is a base of three., And what I'm going to do is just separate from behind my ear. And then I'm gon na go from just under the top of my ear and I'm going to connect the two pieces Together in the back. And I'm going to lift gently this hair away., Typically what I would do if it was straight, I would tease it., But because this hair has texture in it, I don't need to do that.. I'M gon na put that clip in right in the center. Bam bam. Boom.. Now the next section up just above that. We're going to go—, you feel the top of your ear.. You feel that clip. You're going to go about two finger widths up from there. Connect on either side.. Another thing you can do too, which I love to do on my clients, like especially with Ashley, Graham we put in the extensions first and then we do this whole thing so that the extensions really start to twist and blend in with your own hair. Perfect.. And then the next one is going to be a five-piece.. It'S going to go across the widest part of your head., It's like this.! So we're going to go right there to that big, wide part where the head juts up the most.. So what I like to do on the sides is, I will actually put in the extensions in at an angle. It just blends so much better., So I'm just gon na go right from the temples straight back to the top of my ear. Perfect., Throw it back., Then last piece to really connect these front faming pieces we're going to put right in here., Just like that. To get the hair to blend a little bit more, even though it already has a natural texture, I'm going to spray a spray called Sugar Beach spray.. It'S a texturizing spray., I'm going to just spray it onto my hair and then I'm going to start scrunching that into the ends.. So those ends start playing together. Now with our diffuser we're going to keep on drying.. So you see how it looks like you can see a little bit crispy.. I don't want to see that., I don't want 1999 crispy curls.. I want 2020 soft waves.. So when you want to break up that product cast come from underneath and there's some little bit of dampness here., I'm gon na squeeze out. Make sure it completely dries.. I'M just gon na keep squeezing and enhancing. Breaking up that cast'cause. I want as much volume.. Oh, my god, is this not ...? Once you have finished your style, you can take a nice lightweight, hair oil, I'm gon na put about like two or three pumps., Not much., Just in this crown to make sure we keep that definition. Any sort of frizzy pieces. Just run your fingers over., Oh my god., You guys are going to die.. Oh my god.. This is my actual dream hair. And it is as easy as I thought. Remember what I said. Frizz is just a curl waiting to happen.. So if you think that your hair can't do this trust and believe baby, because there are no straight lines in nature., All hair has some type of body some type of movement to it., So see what your hair can do. Use. Some of these techniques. Use. Some of these tips and tricks because I feel amazing., You can't tell me nothing. And thank you so much for watching..
