I Tried Sock Curls On My Natural Hair! How To Achieve Heatless Curls

Hey y'all, it's your girl harrison back with another video, so i know i'm looking kind of silly right now with some socks in my hair, but i actually wanted to try something different like i've been trying to challenge myself with doing different things, to create great content. For you guys, i really hope this video actually turns out. Well, if it don't, i am going to still post it actually trying to create some curls with some socks, so i actually looked on youtube. I actually did run across a few now. I did not run across anyone with natural hair doing this, so i actually want to see how this turns out. I started off with my hair already i had washed my hair and then i had blow dried it. So it's already stretched out which makes my drying process more easier. What we're going to do is what you are going to need you're going to need some main socks. You can get any size, but preferably i prefer men's socks because it is thicker as well and the the curl that i'm trying to create i'm not trying to create small curls, i'm trying to create kind of like a more voluminous big curls. So i feel like the main size will work well only because they are thick as well. So these are the socks. I don't know if you can see it well, because it is white on white. I got these from walmart, so i got 12 pair and yeah yeah they're they're socks. I'Ve done the back off camera only because it was kind of a struggle, because this is my first time actually doing something. Silly like this so yeah, i put four on this side and four on this side, so i'm gon na go ahead and show y'all how this works. Okay, so for this part we're gon na actually create some sections. I don't really. I can actually create more than i don't really know how many i'm gon na create. I could probably make maybe two or three out of this. I might do three. So what i'm doing here - i just split this right here: okay and i'm just going to clip this part out of the way. So now what i'm going to be doing is i'm going to uh go ahead and uh. You want to make sure your hair is thoroughly detangled before i actually put rolling or you know putting the socks on your hair. So you want to make sure it's thoroughly detangled. So i'm over here got my detangle brushes, really actually detangled, because i did stretch it out. Oh look at that lens though yes hold up, hey, hey. I have a length goal y'all, so i really hope i achieve it in in due time, but you know that that's a process, i'm using the afro sheen crown defining curl cream. This is my first time actually using this so far, so good i've applied it on the back part and i didn't have any problems. So i'm just going to apply a little amount on this section here. I'Ve got like this much and i'm just going to start with my ends and i'm not going to apply too much because i don't want my hair to revert, but i just want it to be enough where it can. Actually, you know help define my curls a little so after i apply that product on there, i'm just going to be brushing in the product. So that way my products can settle in and get every strand that i might have been missing so now. This is the tricky part. Okay. So now i got my sock. Okay, you got your side, you want a long sock too, so you get your sock right. Then you take it. You put it right here. You, you kind of like hold up. You kind of like gather your hair. First, you take your sock and kind of like you're doing a flexi rod set so you're just going to wrap it around one time. Okay, again, i had some practice on. This was a little difficult, so just wrap it around. One time after you wrap around that one time just kind of keep wrapping it and you want to take your timer because it is like. I said it's a little bit challenging so yeah, i'm just wrapping it around. Actually, it's a little more easier in the front than the back. I'M glad i kind of got the back out the way so just wrap it rap bit brown it keep on wrapping. When i get to the ends of my hair. As you see, you want to hold that because you don't really have no weight to secure your ends. That'S why i'm holding it so after you wrap it around. What you're going to do is still hold on to it. You'Re going to take it and you're going to just basically tie a knot, but you still want to make sure that you're holding your ends, because you do not want your ends to come. Undone or you know loose, so i'm kind of like still holding it. As i'm pulling and tugging just making sure that my ends actually secure within the sock, so it's still in there, okay and i'm just gon na pull it tight. So after i do that this is how it should look kind of like a donut in a sense, but this is how it look. So i tied it one time and we're just gon na go ahead and tie it again. So my ends are, i guess, they're secure within my site. I don't know some people might be wondering like it's a site, isn't it gon na cause, freeze and all that honestly, i don't know what it's about to do to my head until i actually take it out. But of course you're gon na have some frizz frizz is natural, and i know it's not satin, but you know it's a side. You already know what's up so after i do that one. I'M just gon na take this right here and i'm just gon na actually create two out of this, so i'm gon na just do so. It looks like i did eight total in the back and i look like i'm gon na - do six total in the front. It all depends on what you want, how big you wan na, how small you want it so again, we're just gon na keep repeating the same process so so now i have all of these socks in my head. I kind of look very silly. I hope y'all ain't, you know, i hope y'all, don't laugh at me or pick on me. I'M just trying to show y'all some things, some things you know some different things but um, i'm pretty sure. If it comes out bomb. You know what i'm saying. Then you know: what's up, i have a total of 14 socks in my hair, so you can have an option of uh sitting under your hooded, dryer or sleeping in these overnight. Now it might be a little more difficult to sleep in this, because i mean you would think because there are socks, but i did tie a knot so it does. You know i could tell that it might hurt a little bit. It won't hurt as bad as like flexi rods and perm rods only because they are socks, so it does provide a little more cushion in your hair. I'M gon na go ahead and get off of this video, but i'm going to be sleeping in these overnight. So i will come back in like two seconds just to show y'all the takedown. So for me this is the next day the next morning. What time it is, i think it's like 12. 30. So i've had these socks in my hair, i don't have any socks on my hair. Let'S see about, i had these socks in my hair for about 24 hours. So now it is time to reveal the results. I don't know what i'm about to see y'all. So i parade that it all is good. Well, i would kind of clip these out the way because i i do not want to mess this up. Y'All. Oh, look! I got a little makeup on there, but it's all good, so i'm gon na go ahead and i'm going to untie and we're gon na see what this is about. So this is the very first one that i kind of was having trouble with y'all. Like i said, i did this off camera, but anyways. Let'S see how this goes. Okay, so you just want to you know unravel the socks unravel unravel them. Rather, we go our first curl. It is looking good, it's looking good, so just unravel the socks. As you see okay, oh now, this curl is very pretty y'all. Okay, what i've decided to do is use this luster's, pink glosser and it's supposed to add shine, eliminate your frizz and also it for natural last hair. So i felt like this would be. I feel like this is great when it actually comes down to separating your curls, because you do not want a lot of frizz. I mean frizz is okay. I know i honestly don't even care about frizz, but i still want my hair to look like. I did something to it. You know so i'm gon na actually be using this luscious pink glasses. So what i'm gon na do? I'M gon na go ahead and spray it on my hands. Oh snap, i'm gon na get my camera. Ah, it's kind of dripping so be careful, so i just sprayed it on my hands and i'm rubbing it. I rubbed it together. So all i'm going to do is just take my curls and then i'm just going to start separating wherever it naturally separates separate separate, see like i said, the ends are a little bit a little bit. You know a little bit jagged. I guess you could say what do you expect when you're using socks? You know so i just separated all of my curls as you see um. This is how my hair, looking i'm, actually loving. The results like i said the ends are just a little bit frizzy because i didn't have it. I don't know. I guess i don't know. If i put enough, i didn't put enough product on their ears just because it's the socks and the ends is the oldest part of my hair, so it will become more freezing, which is okay, because it doesn't look too bad. So i'm actually right now is going to take my pick and i'm going to be picking at my roots just to give my hair some volume, i don't want to disturb the curls, so i'm only focusing on the roots of my hair. So, as you see, my hair is actually lifting and i think i might go a little crazy with the picking i don't know. I think i'm done with all of the picking all of the separating. So this is the final look y'all. This is socks. I created these curls off of using socks if you like this video go ahead and give me a thumbs up.
