What'S up it's your girl, nikki sparks welcome to my channel. I know i know it's been so long. It'S been months since i posted a video on this channel. I was more active on instagram. So sorry for my um youtube family. Sorry, if i haven't been uploading, if you've been following me on instagram, you should know that i've been a little bit more active on instagram when i wasn't posting here on youtube, but i recently started getting really really active on instagram and i want to start back Making videos on my youtube channel. The reason why i wasn't uploading is that um i reached to a state where i didn't had no ideas for my youtube content, my youtube channel, and i thought that it was getting repetitive like just talking about wash day, routine, etc, etc, etc. So now i'm back and a lot has been happening with my hair. So with my hair and um yeah. Let me just stop rambling and tell you guys what my hair has been up to and give you guys my hair update so yeah. So, to start off my hooded hair dryer it broke down. I stayed couple months without repurchasing another one and i thought that by simply blow drying my hair with a blow dryer, it was going to be enough, even though, like i wasn't doing it, i can do it myself, but i wasn't doing it myself. It was my mom and my mom always been very careful when it comes to blow drying. Our hair, like my little sister, has relaxed hair as well, and my mom didn't know how to dry, but i did and when she would do my hair, i would roll aside my hair per usual, like you guys know like for the ones who don't know that Are new to my channel, i always always roll a set, my hair and dry it under the hooded dryer and then blow dry it if i want to so. My hooded dryer broke down, so my mother was blow drying my hair and everything was going all right. Everything was going perfect um, but i think, due to blow drying my hair every 10 days or once a week blow dry, my wet hair. It causes my ends to thin out and i will be showing you guys uh pictures later on in the video. But overall my hair grew a lot, but i still feel like tea is so much better than coffee. Like i was saying, even though my hair is overall healthy, very usual, not to black, but you know how we stay and my channel is all about healthy hair. I think that i can work more on the thickness of my hair, meaning that instead of waiting three months to relax my hair i'll be stretching four months. So that's one of the first thing that i've changed on my routine, so i'm gon na relax my hair. Every four months and right now, i'm three months: post relaxer and my i'm hitting four months: the 18th of april from the 18th of april, i'm gon na plan, my relaxer date, maybe record it. Maybe i will document it. Let me know down below in the comment section if you want me to show you guys my new relaxer routine, i'm gon na be working on the thickness of my hair, even though, even though i naturally have fine hair, just wanted to be a little bit more Thick, i always used to maintain my hair and neck length or shoulder length, but now this is my new goal to see how far i my hair can grow because i don't know if i've mentioned it before, but i love short hair. I know as a latina afro latina. I know it's very weird to hear a latina saying that she she loves short hair because most of us, especially in the dominican republic, we thrive to have long hair, always every time long, sleek, hair, so yeah. Well, not only in the dominican republic, in the caribbean as well, i'm from saint martin. I was born in saint martin, but my parents are from the dominican republic, so that makes me have dominican as well. So my half dominican have french and if you wonder why, i'm speaking english is because in saint martin, my beautiful island, we also speak english, so yeah, english, french and spanish, and i'm currently living in france, so yeah. That was about it. So back to my hair, routine, my hair update, i don't want to cut my hair anymore. I want to see how far it can grow. While i was on that journey, the back of my hair, like in the middle, i would insert pictures on the screen. My hair's been thinning in the middle, but in back - and i don't know why exactly that's the second time that has happened to me - that's the second thing that i have to trim off my hair cut off my hair for the same reason, and i'm getting tired Of it, so that's why i switch up couple things which i'm going to be mentioning on my new hair care, routine, video that i'm gon na do very very soon and as of my youtube channel, i am going to post, maybe once a month twice a month, Because i'm focusing more on growing my instagram audience that not that you guys don't matter but youtube, it takes a lot a lot of my time. I'M a mother and um instagram is like the content for instagram is a little bit less time consuming than youtube yeah. So right now um. I think i will install some pictures. I am on a brush drop lens and we got a hooded dryer. Well, my mom got a hold of dryer and since i'm always doing my hair by her, so it's stained by her. I am really set in my hair drying, my hair under the hooded dryer per usual, and i'm also not blow drying it. For now i don't want to put the extra heat on my hair, even though i know that i've been doing that for years and years and years and in the dominican republic. That'S just the relaxed hair routine. You go to the saloon. You get your roller set. Then you blow dry, your hair, like with a round brush and the spanish blue, the dominican blue out and my hair have always been healthy. I never had an issue with that, but i just want to now that i'm stretching after to four months two months and a half three months, i'm gon na stop doing the dominican blow out right after my roller set, meaning that i'm not gon na be having My hair down, so i'm always going to be on protective style on something that i never used to really do um i used to keep it very basic and simple, with my hair, always on a bun or on a blowout. That'S about it. So i'm kind of switching off from the bun, and if i do to my bun, do like the braid in the back going up in a bun here, a high bun. I will insert a picture there as well. If you want me to do a tutorial about that, you just have to like this video leave a comment down below and yeah, so my plans for my relaxer this year is like i mentioned, improve the thickness of my hair and the length and avoid my ends Too thin in the back in the same spot is always the same thing, i'm always on schedule. With my three with my trimming, i always on schedule when it comes to anything to my hair and it's still thin out, so i need to find out what is the problem? Another thing i've been having with my hair is my scalp. Oh my god. It'S called being a chin like crazy, but that's another issue. I'Ve been having and i don't know what is causing that, but i will try to find out if it's i'm allergic to something. I don't really don't know, but i will keep you guys posted whenever i find out and something else i've been incorporating into my hair, too, is rosemary oil. I know rosemary oil was very good for the hair. My mom always used to tell me about it, but i never really tried it. I'Ve been starting doing it since january, and i've been having a lot of hair growth due to that, especially here in the middle. I don't know if you guys can would be able to see it. It'S a lot compared to what i'm used that i usually get. When i reached my three months point and i've been incorporating to the red onion. I know i made a video. I will leave the link in the description box and also aloe vera. I know i've mentioned that onion in aloe vera is very, very good for the hair and i've been using it um since i started my youtube, but i wasn't consistent with it. I would do one week, let's say that, one week this month and one week the other month, i wasn't really consistent with it with it. But now i am pre-pooing with my natural stuff, religiously, i'm not missing one day, i'm not missing one beat so yeah guys anything else that i've been experiencing as well. I don't know if you have experience too seasonal shedding, meaning that every time i go from winter to spring, my hair sheds a lot and then, when i go from summer to fall, it sheds a lot as well like twice a year. My hair just go crazy and it sheds. Sometimes i would be wondering how come i still have hair in my hand and my skull if you have experienced that. Let me know in the comment section: if you have found a solution, let me know as well, because i've been having seasonal shedding, since i moved to france nine years ago and it always been happening, so i never really searched for a solution. I just let it be it stopped, then it start back etc. So i never really found a solution for it and since i am working on my on the thickness of my hair and the length and everything i want to avoid shedding forgot to mention that um i make the rosemary oil myself. I have video on my instagram. So you guys can go check it out. It'S not on my feed. It'S on my highlights so on the hair diy highlight. I have the video right there, where i show you guys how i make my own rosemary oil from fresh rosemary leaf. So i'm gon na leave. You guys go check that out on my instagram. I'M gon na leave the instagram username right here, so you guys can go and follow me and check me out over there on instagram. I'M very happy to have you guys here, but it will be even cooler to have you guys on instagram, because i'm way more active over there and i share way more posts way more stuff, interesting things when it comes to relaxed hair, and i rebranded my instagram Completely when it comes to my content, because i was between makeup content and relaxer content, and i realized that i feel my most authentic self, when i am doing relaxed hair content, the numbers don't lie as well. You guys want relaxed hair instead of makeup, and i understand i completely understand because it's way makeup is way way, saturated saturated and at this point in time, i think that almost everyone knows how to do their own makeup. I'M a makeup artist myself, but now i'm gon na be focusing more on my relaxed hair content and not wearing makeup. As often if you've been following me on instagram, you should know by now uh the last time i wore makeup was the 25th of december. We are now at the 31st of march, while i'm recording this video and since the 25th of december. I did my makeup once and today to do this. Video so does also tell you guys that i'm really not into doing my makeup like i used to. I don't know if it's, because i'm almost 30 that now every time i see extravagant makeup every time i see someone wearing like eyeliner like how i used to do and everything i find it so so so tacky like i used to, i would be like. Oh, my god, i can't believe i used to do that myself, but i still love like when i would look back on my pictures. I love it, but in real life like when you watch into real life, it looks packy like i don't like it and anyone that knows about makeup, even though, if you don't know that instagram makeup youtube makeup, when you see it in real life, it's not cute. Yeah this video is a hair update, so no more rambling - and i have two questions that i got from two instagram girls and i was like i'm gon na answer it here on my hair update, because maybe these questions might be something that will help you too. The first question is: why do you wash your hair every week instead of every two weeks, i'm washing my hair every week and that's because a clean, scalp and clean hair helps maintain healthy, scalp and healthy hair, meaning that a clean scalp will absorb all the good Nutrients from the hair treatments from the moisturizers from the oils that you apply in your hair, because if you leave all the product build up in your scalp and on your hair, it will be very, very hard for your hair and scalp to absorb the nutrients that It needs and your hair will get dry, and we all know that dry, hair breaks so haven't right. Here is a big, no avoid that wash my hair in deep condition once a week. For the same reason - and the second question is any tips for plenty hair loss during untangling and wash day so untangling your hair, untangling dry hair leads to breakage, meaning that if you have to moisturize your hair first and then untangle with a white teeth comb. So you take your hair from the ends with a white heat comb and you detangle from your ends, going up to your roots, taking your time being very gentle with your hair and for watch day me personally, i know there's a lot of hair gurus, hair bloggers That say, do not detangle wet hair when you have relaxed hair, but i kind of disagree with that, because i've been relaxed since i was 12 years old, 17 18 years of this relaxed hair lifestyle. Let me tell you: i've always detangled my hair in the shower. With my conditioner or deep conditioner on and in dominican, hair salons as well, we always do that and i've never had any breakage any problem with that. Like the dominican community, we do it because we always roll a set. The tangled hair to do roller set. That'S not gon na work. You'Re gon na have more breakage because we you have to do the roller set with a rattle comb and rattle comb are not good. They'Re awful rattle comb is not the type of comb you would want to be detangling your hair. So we always detangle hair very good before, but if you air dry, you can wait until your hair is like 70 80 percent dry and put on your leave-in conditioner detangle it by sections and then leave it dry off completely to 100. But me personally, i don't think that detangling your hair, while it on wash day while it's wet, will break your hair is just that you need to use the right technique, the right comb in the right conditioner to detangling here. These are my tips, so yeah guys. Thank you guys for watching. I hope that this video was helpful. This is just to kick start. My return to my youtube channel give this video a big thumbs up. Don'T forget to subscribe to my channel, see you on my next one: bye,

Camille Mcleod: The thinning in the middle could be caused by the constant middle parting of the hair. Done for Deep Conditioning, Moisturizing and Sealing, Detangling and Protective Styling. Change up your parting of the hair. What I do is I middle part for Moisturizing and sealing and detangling but for deep Conditioning I part the hair similar to how we roller set so the middle section in done as one. For braid outs I change it up according to how I want to style it. Try that and see if you get the middle to be less thinning. One Love

T Mcdowell: Glad to see you! Your makeup looks classy in this video.

sweetfm2008: Glad to see you back! Beautiful please do the braid up bun protective style!

Luvita Q: Hey Beautiful! I missed you! Sooo.. My hair looks dense but is very fine. I wash my hair once a week as well and air dry. I only do heat on relaxer day, which for me is every two months. However I do experience the same seasonal shedding. I’m trying a new trio this week I was told about called Biotene. The reviews are mixed but hopefully my hair loves it. I also was told to drink more water. Dehydration can lead to more shedding too.
