Hello, everybody uh welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel. My name is ashley and today's video i'm going to be showing you guys how to properly detangle your natural hair for hair growth and length retention, because you know, if you don't detangle your hair right, it can break off and we don't want that. So first thing we're gon na do is grab your hot water. I have mine in my spray bottle and then i'm gon na start by sectioning off my hair into four sections. I just put the other one in one big one. So, as you can see, my hair is pretty uh tangled, so i'm gon na drench this section in hot water. I can't show you guys, like um the whole thing, but i soaked my hair in that hot water and now i'm going to use my just a cheap conditioner, my swab conditioner, i'm going to apply it to the whole section and smooth it in really well make Sure i get all my strands and then i'm going to slightly finger detangle, my hair, just to take apart the bigger tangles. So when i do go in with the brush it'll be easier. Now i'm going to split this section into two um because, as you can see, my hair is really thick, so i want to make sure i'm thoroughly detangling. Now i'm going to apply even more water to it and the water activates the conditioner more so it gives it more slip and then i'm going to start finger detangling taking out the bigger tangles with my fingers. So it's easier to go in with the brush, and now i kept the detangling part with the brush in real time. I'M going to take my time gently starting at the ends and, as you can see, i'm not forcing the brush through my hair, like if i come across a tangle, i pick the brush up. I don't like drag it through my hair. I pick it up and gently calm out the tangle. I don't rip through my hair. I gently comb it out every time you feel a knot, pick the brush up and comb. It out don't force the brush through it, because that's only going to break off your hair and i'm basically just going to keep on doing that for the whole length of my hair um. This um subsection took about uh two minutes to do so. Um. It was relatively quick so as long as you're patient and you don't rush through the detangling process, it's not going to hurt it's not going to take that much time. Max time it will take is about 30 minutes. What i've learned from doing my natural hair is, if you rush it, if you rush like this, is like so ironic, if you rush through detangling your hair, it's going to take even longer, because it's going to be even harder, y'all get what i'm saying like when You rush through stuff. It doesn't go right, so it takes you even longer like in the end. But if you actually take your time and do it correctly and do it gently you'll realize it doesn't really take that much time and it's like way easier and in turn you'll see your length retention. You will see the growth that you are having and you can have long flourishing hair. So just take your time, don't be frustrated, just go through it. Gently like put on some music or whatever and just just go with the flow. Take your time, don't rush, you don't need to all right. After i'm finished, um detangling the whole section. I go ahead and braid it up and just put it to the side and as y'all can see it's a lot of conditioner. That'S why i use a cheap conditioner to do this because it doesn't really matter if you're wasting it, because that's what you're essentially doing because a lot of it is going to waste. But it's just for the slip, so you can properly detangle. So don't you don't have to worry about wasting conditioner because it's a cheap conditioner? So now i'm gon na go ahead and show you guys the um back section of detangling, my hair. So i'm just going to do the same thing. Grab my hot water drench, the whole section split it in two and then um. Oh wait: grab my conditioner put the conditioner on the whole section, then split it into and apply more water and finger detangle and then detangle with the brush, and that is all all right right here. I want to say again that this is fed up. So this is not actually how fast i'm going. This is um. This is 1.5. The next clip is 2.5 um speed, so just letting y'all know. This is not how fast i'm actually going. So i showed y'all real time um earlier in the video, but this is sped up because i just realized this video is long and i don't need it to be that long. So i sped this part up so just want to say it again. This is not real time. This is sped up, so yes, foreign, so oh foreign, all right now i am finally finished. Yes, i had a whole bunch of conditioner on my hands, so i just applied that to my scalp, because i'm going to be washing my hair anyways. This is kind of like my pre-poo. I already have a video on my pre-poo. It'S basically the same as this, but i'm just going into more depth on how to actually detangle your hair so that your hair is not breaking off and you can see her length retention. So i feel like this is like the most important step, besides protective styling, because you can break your hair off detangling and you can break your hair off protective styling. But as y'all can see, i had a whole bunch of conditioner everywhere and on the floor and right here, i'm showing y'all my shade here at first. I thought it was a lot, but then i'm looking at it and i'm like it's not my hair is just um very dense and thick. So it looks. It looks like a lot, but it's actually not and i'm just playing being stupid, like i had a whole mustache
