Defined Braidout On Relaxed Hair

Hey loves! In this video I demonstrate how I do my super defined braid outs while stretching my relaxer. In this video I'm 11/12 weeks post relaxer. Braidouts are my favourite low manipulation style to do while stretching and they are super easy to do! I'll typically do my braidouts on air dried hair after my mid week wash day routine i.e. Thursday. I'll rock my braid out until the next wash day i.e. Sunday.

To preserve my style for 3-4 days, I do the "Pineapple Method" where I gather my hair into a high ponytail, instead I do a secure top bun and wrap my hairline with my satin scarf. I also moisturize daily but using a tiny amount of my Leave-in Hair Milk and I'll scrunch the product into my hair/ends, fluff and go!

COMMENT BELOW if you are a fan of Braidouts too!

Hey guys in this video I'll be sharing with you exactly how I do my braid outs. Braid outs are honestly one of my favorite low manipulation hairstyles to do while stretching my relaxers, because it's simple it blends in perfectly with my new growth and it's low maintenance. So right now I'm just sectioning off my hair. I don't do any parts and I'm gon na add in my leave-in conditioner, just a couple drops of this and then I'm going to moisturize my hair from root to tip. So I like using hair milks because I find it they lock in moisture really well, especially when doing a braid out. They also provide great definition and it prevents frizz as well. So now I'm gon na take my foam lotion, which provides a nice soft hold and it really prolongs the hairstyle. I just do one pump per section and I just kind of work that, through in my strands and then I'm going to begin braiding. So, as I mentioned before, braids out to one of my favorite go-to styles, especially when I'm stretching my relaxer and I've done it both ways on wet hair and on dry hair, and I find that when I do it on dry hair, my hair remains moist. For a longer period of time I get less frizz and the definition is pretty much equal. So braid outs are my go-to, especially on dry hair right now, I'm just gon na braid all the way down to the ends and then I'm gon na add in my perm rod. So now, I'm gon na add a perm rod to the end of my braid. So I just wrap my hair around the rod and secure it at a length that I'm comfortable with. So I typically like to have my braid out sitting on my shoulders. That way, it looks fuller. So I'm just gon na wrap continue wrapping the rod around and then I'm going to secure it and repeat the exact same steps all throughout my hair. Until I'm done so, I find that the perm rods adds a really nice curl definition to the style and it gives a nice texture to my braid outs. Okay, so I finished braiding in my entire head and I have a total of seven sections. So now I just like to wrap my hair or just the front of my hair with my satin scarf this way it preserves the front and it makes it look nice and neat. I don't cover my hair with a satin bonnet. That way, my braids can dry completely throughout the night yeah. I know I just pretty much sleep in like one position, so it's not gon na get frizzy or messy, and I'm all done guys. So I'm gon na go off to bed and I'll, see you in the morning. Okay, so my braids are dry and now it's time to remove the perm rods. So now I just lightly unravel the perm rod from my braids. I try not to disturb the braids too much as it could create frizz and I just removed them gently from each and every braid. So now I'm going to use my shine mist and this helps to increase shine and prevent frizz. So I'm just going to lightly mist each braid. So before I unravel my braids, I like to miss my fingers with a little bit of the shine miss spray. This is kind of like a silicon-based spray, so this will prevent any frizz while I'm unraveling the braids. So the moisture from my fingers won't interact with the curl pattern. So now I'm gon na separate each section without disturbing the curl pattern too much. I find that the more you separate, the bigger the style gets and I'd really love it. When my braid outs are big, and typically the first day when you're doing your braid outs, it's not as big but as you wear your braid out day 1 day 2 day 3, it gets bigger and bigger, which I love. So I'm gon na use my wide tooth comb to just fluff the roots and add volume. This also helps to remove the parts that way it looks fuller and just beautiful. I just love bright outs, it's like my favorite and yeah. So I just continue to separate and fluff, and I'm done it's so soft and moist. I love it and I easily get day 3 day 4 hair with this style comment below if you're a fan of braid outs. Thank you guys so much for watching. Don'T forget to Like and subscribe bye

Lilmisskandi: Damn! #TeamRelaxedGirls winning out in these streets

Ashlie B: Just relaxed my hair for the first time since 2014 and I am very happy. I have always experienced breakage and my hair never growing past my shoulders but I feel with my hair being relaxed now, it shall be easier to maintain and treat! Praying my journey goes well! So glad I came across your page!

Kya Mya: I love this!! I haven’t had a touch up in a while with everything being closed due to the pandemic and my stylist still isn’t seeing clients, so this style will be perfect and easy

Valencia Robinson: New to your channel and I am so inspired to grow my relaxed hair! How do you maintain your braid out? Do you re-braid each night? Thanks so much!!

Toby Ham: I discovered braidouts about 3 years ago and was re-born! LOL. I just love your video - folks, it really is that easy. Just follow the over-night, pineapple instructions and it will last at least 3 days. If I do it on freshly washed, air dried hair - I can make it last for 4! Curls without heat is the way to go.

Ina: Sheltering in place and haven’t been to the salon so this was very helpful. I didn’t think I could do it but my daughter and hair stylist said I did a pretty good job! Thank you

Bait Alhail: My hair in transitional phase from relax to curly and this procedure is so helpful to fix it to have natural look. Thank you sister for your help. Love from Kuwait.❤

Rnjones2011: Beautiful. I’m 10 months post but missing my relaxed hair terribly. My braid outs look trash so far on my transitioning hair. Still now sold on fully transitioning may just end up being a super long stretch

Nah: Super cute. Would live to see 2nd and 3rd day hair from this routine!

Max Germain: O! M! G! I love this style!! Absolutely gorgeous! How long did you let your hair air dry before doing the braidout? I'm not sure if my hair should be dried completely or still a little damp. Thanks for another great tutorial!
