Roller Set On Dry Relaxed Hair | Relaxed Hair Styling- Heatless Curls | Sacha Bloom

Do thumbs up this video and if you are new here consider subscribing today i did a dry roller set, meaning a roller set without using any product on my hair. So if you would like to see how i get my clothes please keep watching, i am so pleased to report that my ends are doing a-okay so so much better since i started doing the baggy method and i'm just so thrilled because listen, i have come a Really really long way, so let's do a close-up, so you can really see what we're working with here. Hey. My ends are really coming along really nicely so yeah. If you haven't yet do try the baggy method in a separate video, i'm going to show you exactly what i'm using when i do my bagging method and the two techniques that i have found that work really well for preserving my ends so yeah. This is really really working really well for me for my roller set today, i am using regular rulers in two different sizes and i'm using two sizes so as to increase my volume. The fact that i'm not using any product on my hair today makes my roller set a little bit more tricky because usually using a foam, wrap or setting lotion helps to really give you a more defined curl. However, since there is very little product in my hair um and since i am not going to be using any sort of foam wrap or setting lotion, it would be a bit more difficult to get a super defined curl, especially one that lasts so um to maximize The curl effect i am using very small separations and i'm using two different sizes of rulers, and i am alternating them, so i'm using this medium one and a slightly larger one. So my clothes will not be super tight, but they won't be um extraordinarily loose either. So i'm putting the small ruler in the back on smaller medium medium. The medium row line the back and the larger one on top and then i'm going to alternate, i considered using the what is it called? What is it called the self grip rollers, but i was not about to play russian roulette with my hair. I don't know something about that. Just scares me so so much i feel like my hair is going to stick to the ruler and when i try to remove it, i'm going to lose a ton of hair. So i don't know, have you tried it? Have you tried the russian roulette rollers, i'm kidding, i mean they're self gripping rulers. Doesn'T it look scary um if you've tried it and had success with it? Please let me know your experience below comment and let me know, but for today i am playing it safe and i'm using the regular plastic rulers. I do have these in various sizes and in various colors, so i did not have to go far to get what i needed um. I already had it on hand. These have worked really well for me in the past, so that too made it an easy choice. Um, i do have a couple of roller set videos that i'm going to link here in the event that you want to check these out. The first one i did was a wet set using similar rollers, and i did a similar pattern of alternating my sets um. The clothes came out so so beautifully, so i will link that video here. I have also done a couple of hot roller sets. These are um unmatched, really they are unmatched in terms of the results. So i'm going to link those as well, so you can go check those out if you so desire imperative that you detangle your hair before starting. I did not show that part of the process beforehand, but um i'm starting with freshly detangled hair that makes the process so much easier. Also, you want to use a wide tooth comb having already detangled your hair. It should be easy to use a wide tooth comb to detangle. Alternatively, if you were to finger separate your hair, then um that would work even better than you would have to do less manipulating and your sections do not have to be perfectly straight because, if you're going to go in after your set to um, either comb, your Hair out brush it out or finger finger, um separate your curls, then the separations really don't matter so for less manipulation. You may want to consider separating your hair with your fingers without using any specific tools before starting my hair journey. Two years ago i considered roller setting to be prehistoric. I thought it was something that all the women did and um to me because of how i saw it won. I thought that it was just not fashionable, but now having started my relaxed journey, i'm realizing that roller sets are a missed, because it is imperative that you come up with hairstyles that work that allow you to get volume and versatility without using direct heat on your Hair and roller setting is one of the ways to achieve that. Also, i have found that fashion is about personal taste and personal style. So if you choose to wear your roller set styles um like they look like you, just took off your rulers and left it that way, then that would be your personal choice, your personal preference, but i personally think that um, the curls look best when they've been Finger combed, so usually that is how i wear mine, so i would comb out the curls after i removed my rulers using only my fingers um in today's video. I am also going to show you what they look like when they've been combed out or brushed out, but usually when i wear my clothes, i only finger comb them to me that way it looks best. I do, however, like the versatility of roller sets, because you can wear it. You can wear your hair as an updo, a partial updo or just down on your shoulders on your back and um yeah. That makes it super super attractive to me. The fact that it is a heatless style provided you're, not using hot rollers and the fact that you can add so much volume and bounce to your hair and you have options in terms of how you wear it. What'S better than that. Please comment below and let me know how you wear your curls once you've done a ruler set. Do you keep the curl pattern from the rulers? Do you finger comb? Do you brush it out? How do you wear it this week to help with my relaxer stretching? I did a silk press so when i started this roller set, i started it with hair that was freshly, silk pressed and so to maintain my press for the next two weeks. I plan to keep my hair this way for three weeks so to maintain it. I plan to roller set and rod set my hair in addition to moisturizing and the sealing, and i'm already so excited, because i know that this is going to work so well. For me, in terms of keeping my hands out of my hair and keeping my hair heat free preserve the life of my clothes, i plan to wear my hair in a bun on top of my head at night and um on the nights that i do. My greenhouse effect, then my hair would be under a shower cap. However, on the other nights i plan to either roller set or rod's flexi rod set, and then i'm going to put my hair back up in a bun on top of my head. That way. The following day, i can just remove my scrunchie and allow my clothes to fall in any particular direction or continue to style it in a bun. On top of my head. That way, i preserve both my curls and my heat press. It must be said that one of the main disadvantages of not using any products when you roll a set your hair, is that your clothes do not last as long so. I found that with this particular roller set by the end of the day, the curls were extremely loose and most of them had fallen. So if that is your intention to get quite a bit of volume, but without a super defined curl, then this is the way to go. Alternatively, you could have used even less rollers and done wider sections or use more rollers and then smaller sections. I guess it would depend on your preference and the type of look you're going for, but um yeah once you don't use any product in your hair, then um your curls will not last as long. I left these in for the rest of the day and when i was getting ready for bed in the evening, i tied my hair with my satin scarf and then put on my bonnet over the scarf. That way, my rulers stay in place. Nothing pops off during the night, and i sleep better. I have found that sleeping with rollers can be a bit difficult, so the technique that i use is to make sure that when i tie my head with this scarf that i do so tightly enough that the rulers stay locked in place that way, there's no movement. The discomfort comes from the rollers moving around as you, i guess, turn from one side to the other, so yeah, once the rollers are held in place tightly enough with a scarf before putting on your opponent, then there's less movement and less discomfort throughout the night. Hey this so wow, so so at this point i am going to add a little bit of sheen to my hair and um. Then i'm going to comb it out, come out the clothes so that you can see what it looks like when it has been combed through or brushed through, but i personally do not wear my hair this way, i am doing it or need to show you what It would look like if it was done.
