Hey y'all welcome back to my channel, it's olivia joy here and if you would like to see how i achieve this style, keep watching this video in today's video i'm going to be doing a flexi rod set on my relaxed hair. Yes, i do get relaxers and obviously need a touch up, but we're not going to talk about that before i do any parting or flexi rotting of any sort. I use a good amount of leave-in conditioner to moisturize and strengthen my hair, so i'm going to go ahead and part my hair down the middle. Just to you know, honestly, there's actually no particular reason. I want to part my hair down the middle. I just want to go ahead and do that. So that's what i'm going to do, i'm obviously not perfect at parting and honestly, 95 of the time it takes me. A few tries just to get a nice crisp part so yeah if you're anything like me. It'S okay, don't feel bad. I do it too alrighty! So next, i'm going to use some heat protectant because i'm going to end up blow drying just to help my hair mold to the rods faster. I would air dry, but that takes forever and i'm going to end up sleeping with the rods in any way. So it's cool to make me feel like this won't take as long as it usually does. I part my hair into four sections and work section by section and i usually don't worry about the parts being perfect just because it really won't matter in the end for this style, i'm using foaming mousse so that the curls will last longer and five packs of Flexi rods, because your girl has a lot of hair because my hair is kind of dry, i'm going to spray some water on it just to help loosen it up for the rods. I'Ve tried to do flexi rods on dry hair before and let's just say that that did not end well and i ended up looking like a lion when i'm taking different sections. I just part with my finger because again the parts won't matter in the end and then i'm going to use some mousse and take the smallest size, flexi rods. I have to use for the back and sides of my head because, for me those areas tend to be shorter than the rest of my hair, then for the outer portion of my head, i'm going to use the next size up and just to note when rolling, I personally like to go opposite directions just because i don't want all the curls to form together when separating them towards the end. For me, the middle of my head is where my hair is the thickest, so i'm going to use the gray rods for this section, and i feel it's very important to note that if you want looser curls, then you have to spread the hair out when rolling. Okay, so we're finished with the most tedious step of the style, to protect my hair, i'm going to wear a bonnet and allow these to sit overnight just to ensure they are completely molded and dry before taking them out and we're back the next day to unravel All the rods and style throughout this video, you probably noticed that i changed shirts like four times it's just because i was being indecisive about what to wear. It happens to me all the time and here's the finished product, no, i'm just kidding before separating the curls. I'M going to add some oil to my hair for moisturization and shine, and then i'm going to break up the curls as much as i see fit and tore my finger around them to further emphasize each curl. You could stop it right here if you want, but i prefer to take it one step further and pick my hair to add volume to the overall look. I personally like to swoop these edges to finish off the look and, of course, make sure they're on fleek. There are also a few different styles. You can do with these curls as well, so i'm just going to go through and show you guys three of my faves today i was really feeling the fro, so you know what we're just gon na keep it cute and simple. I really hope you guys enjoyed this video and that it was helpful for anyone watching who wants to try different protective styles on natural or relaxed hair.
