Hey guys, let's Mesa destra and I'm sitting here in front of you with damp here and also my five forehead. I am doing this video, so I can show you how I air dry, my hair. Several people have requested this video and it's also one of my favorite ways to dry my hair, because I don't have to use a lot of heat and being that I do do my hair and a lot of protective hairstyles. It'S also better for the hair too. Now the benefits of air drying, one when you're, when you air dry, your hair, it tends to hold moisture better than for you to use heat, because when you do use heat such as using a blow dryer, it does, you know dry out your hair faster. So your hair doesn't have the ability to absorb that moisture. That'S coming off of the product that you have on your hair. Another benefit is that you experienced olestra um dryness. Obviously, you also have thicker looking hair and that's the reason why I love doing this um using this method, in order for me to you, know, have protective hairstyles where everything looks bigger and thicker, and that's some of the other reasons I'm going to put extra reasons At the bottom, I think I missed a few - I'm not sure, but I'm going to put the rest at the bottom. So basically I hope you enjoy the video and I will show you how I air dry, my hair. You can also air dry, your hair, doing huge jumble twist, just pretty much that's what's like this and which it would do is actually let me show you. Okay, for example, go go ahead and twist, I'm just doing this real quickly. Just for you know to show you guys real quick, you know the other ways that you can air dry, your hair, the benefits of doing it. This way, too, is because um, your hair would dry a little bit more quicker that way, because the hair separated in different sections, so you have air, that's able to go in through the scalp to help dry, the hair. So if I took my hair like that and did just pretend everything's in jumbled twist, what I would do is tie scarf on my head just like that, make sure it lays in the front and just kind of like pull it down a little bit. So I could stay in place and that way the top would be flat. So that's it that's another way to do it, but I will be back with results and I'll be like it. So we're about an hour and a half into the air drying process and, as you can see, kind of mount, my hair sticking out just a little bit more than it was so I'm going to do the reveal of what my edges look like and you see How it lays nice and flat - and my hair does have some shine to it. I mean it's not completely straight straight, but it's good enough for me, so I could continue with my protective hairstyle. Let me get a comb. Yep looks good to me yep. It looks good to me, so that's pretty much how I air dry and my next few videos. I should show a video on how I clip my ends. I probably might not do a trim. I know I do need it, but I probably just do like a search-and-destroy method. On my hair, I had been cutting my hair for a while just been clipping my ends, and I've been at BSL for about two years now, just to get rid of the color. That I had that actually damaged my hair and then on top of that post partum shedding. So I'm going to do that video soon and basically, I'm just going to continue letting it grow so yeah. This looks good to me, so I hope you liked the video. I hope it helps someone out there and topless

Lisa Marie: Wow I can see that you are super gentle when handling your hair. Blessings!!

Style Domination: Thanks for this video! I have been air drying my hair for the past few years now and I notice a real difference in the quality of my hair. It feels much better and I've really gained some length!

Sdestra: Hi Skye! I should have mentioned that in the video...and just realized what I did. I am trying the LOC method that a lot of naturals have been talking about. And I figured it wouldn't hurt for myself to try it. It works just as well too. LOC stands for Liquid Oil Cream. Each one seals the other, Oils seals the liquid, the cream seals the oil. Hope that makes sense. Look it up on CurlyNikki. Maybe I should post a blog about it. Thanks so much hun!

Sdestra: You can use both, use the wide first to get some tangles out and then a regular to get the rest of the tangles out. During the air drying process...make sure you smooth your hair going downward. That will help. Or maybe it may be the products that you need that will help a little better. Also, try the twist method. Let me know how you make out :-)

Sdestra: You're welcome sweetie and thank you so much for watching! I'm relaxed...but my hair has some texture to it. So I would say I am between bone straight and texlaxed.

Sdestra: Thanks Wilda! Sometimes the new growth can get unruly. Some times it depends on the style you go for after wards that makes a difference :-)

Sdestra: You're welcome hun and thank you so much for watching! Let me know how you make out :-)

Ms. Jae: Thank you for the info, I shall try this - your hair is beautiful and healthy! This should work for me because my hair is thin and tends to dry fast. Stay Blessed

Sdestra: Thank you so much hun! A wonderful compliment from you :-)

Kay Pierce: Great video. I gave away my blow dryer at the beginning of the year so I air dry every time.

: I'm actually airdrying with a scarf as we speak lol .. Keep the videos coming Sis

Sdestra: LOL! Too funny...I didn't use any heat at all on my head for 6 months and it was fabulous! And your hair game is on point...so I know you're good!

Sdestra: Thanks lovely! Definitely try the jumbo twists too. Sometimes they look like beach waves after you air dry!

Sdestra: Thanks for subbing! That's the way you can do it. It's works for some and doesn't work for some. If it doesn't work for you, you can switch it to LCO, I've heard different ways for both relaxed and natural haired women.

Mariah Shopten: I had stopped  air drying  my hair and I started again. I've been air drying for about a month and already my hair is thicker. My ends seem much better. I'm planning to go heatless until may 2016.

Sdestra: I'm glad it worked for you hun!

Skye525: I like your airdrying method, but I have a question about the EVCO being used prior to the QP Mango butter...Why do you apply the oil prior to the moisturizer? Shouldn't it be the other way around since EVCO is a sealant?

blessedwmnofgod: Great video....gonna try this method next wash! Thanks for sharing.

Sdestra: IHey Seyram...I did mention it in the video, sorry you missed it. I was about 4-5 weeks post relaxer. I will put that info in the description box. Thanks so much for watching the video!

MrsWynter910: great video girlie!! :-) thanks for the tips...are you relaxed or texlaxed? ur hair looks awesome!

Sdestra: Aww, thanks boo! I'm trying :-)

treasure afolabi: Nice one. My hair gets very puffy during air drying. Any suggestions pls

Sdestra: Not sure if I'm answering the question correctly, but when my hair was shorter, I didn't really air dry my hair but did roller sets, blow dry/flat iron or flexi rod sets. But my hair did have body and moved freely even at ear length:-).

mohammad alkulifi: You and your hair look amazing girl continue love ya

candaces2449: Great video! I need to go wash this deep conditioner out of my hair now so I can go air dry. lol

Yolanda G: your hair looks amazing!! .. x

kssnmiss: Great video. Keep them coming.

Tami TKDGal: beautiful hair. I just tried the air dry my relaxed hair and it did not come out nearly as smooth as your hair. I combed with a wide tooth comb while it was wet and used the cantu shea leave in repair cream as my leave in. Then I used a scarf to flatten out my edges but the body of my hair is kinda wavy/kinky not smooth, any advice?

Sdestra: I will soon...about to finally trim it this weekend :-)

Sdestra: Awww, thanks sweetie! I hope I don't disappoint!

Sdestra: How did your air dry process come out?

Wilda: I like air-drying, I just dont like when I am 6 and more weeks post because the roots are never flat... nice video

Sdestra: Awww thanks babe, you're welcome and thanks for watching :-)

Anna Florence: you are such a beautiful person I literally clicked on this vid and saw how beautiful u are and your hair is really nice thanks for the tips

Marta Camarada: you're amazing!! thank you :)

jadana whitley: Just wanted to say i tried this and my hair has never felt better thnks!!!

Sdestra: You can probably purchase it on line and from a beauty supply store. If you live outside the States, then it might be a bit challenging.

firewater365: yay!!! great video! lets see the trim video next!

Happy: You have gorgeous hair!

Rhyannon Sparks: I love AVEDA! Especially the paddle brush!

Sdestra: Thanks sweetie!

Kay Mccall: BEAUTIFUL, LONG, HEALTHY...#GODGIVEN...HAIR!!!!

Sdestra: Awww, thanks love!

Kinah A.: I've been looking for the mango butter for a while now, where can I find it?

gemini _flower: i've tried that , and my ends still came out wavy ...lol.. i want it combed should i use a wide tooth comb or a regular comb better ???...

Annissa Promesse: I've got to try this!

Sdestra: Are you relaxed or natural? What do you think may be the reason?

Sdestra: Thanks sweetheart!

Steph: what hair products do you use?

shanna dupree: My hair gets really kinky after air drying

xsirenflyx: I don't have any leave in conditioners/shampoos and stuff, but I have this 'twisted sista' relaxer cream stuff that you put in damp hair, could I use that? I used to blow dry my hair and it looked perfect, now even after my shower, once it dries it looks all straw-like. Would the relaxer cream stuff be enough? I want my soft silky hair back! :(

Nadia Ford: Love ur videos al

zen girl:

jeneseyquoi: How many weeks post are you at this point?

Saiiya Takagi: I tried it doesn't really work for me my hair is really thick and advice

isobel64: im relaxed, not sure the cause.

Kurly Krissy: Are you Jamaican?

Nadia Ford: Ale

Nyanna Ross: Don't smooth back your hair too much!!!! Your hair line will go back. You should probably try separating it in the middle and smoothing it down on either sides!!!! That's what I did and my hair line came back
