Overnight Heatless Robe Curls! | Will They Last At A Wedding?!

Hello friends, it's laura from cool mom and collected, and today i am teaching you how to do heatless robe curls. I don't really have a lot of room to screw this up, because my beautiful sister-in-law is actually getting married tomorrow and that's why i'm doing this? I'Ve actually done this hairstyle two different times before i'm gon na share some of the mistakes that i made with you the first time. If you look right here, i actually did a really good job. However, i made the mistake of doing it on extremely wet hair. I didn't realize that coming out of the shower, brushing your hair and doing the thing would not make the curls last, even though i was shocked at how beautiful the curls came out next time, i really needed to not have my hair sopping wet so the second Time i learned from that mistake, but i made a different one. I actually wrapped my hair way too tight around the robe. If you wrap it way tight around the robe you're going to have very, very tight curls if you wrap it looser like i did. The first time you're going to have beautiful, wavy curls, so you really want to ask yourself before you do this: what kind of curls do you want really really tight or really really wavy? I really need to find a beautiful middle ground and i'm going to spray. It with hairspray at the end so that it will hopefully last all night, if you guys, like this video, don't forget to like it and subscribe because it super super helps. My channel grow super super and i would just really really appreciate it. Let'S get into it right now. The first thing that you guys are gon na do is get a brush and brush out your hair. So you get all the knots out. You can do this heatless wave style on freshly, clean hair, dirty hair, straightened, hair or even just naturally, air dried hair. Next, you want to take a water bottle and evenly spray, your hair, so it's not fully wet but just slightly damp, where the curls, as they dry, are going to dry into place. Now, if you spray your hair too much like, i did the first time as you saw, the curls will not last they're going to fall out real quick, whoops babe uh. No, but i'm putting that in oh straight up putting that in deal next you're going to get your robe belt, ready the wider, the belt, the looser the wave and the thinner the rove belt, the tighter the waves fold that thing in half find the center. I like to part my hair, the way i'll be wearing it, and then i part down the back of the center of my head. The best that i can doesn't have to be perfect. I then place the center of the rope in the middle of my head and tie one half of my hair to the rope to help keep it in place. When i do this hairstyle, i make sure that i am not pulling my hair down, but that i'm lifting it up that way more volume can occur as i'm wrapping it around the belt. So you'll grab a piece of hair and wrap it around your belt and, as you come around, the belt grab an additional piece of hair to add in and bring it around again you're going to repeat this process over and over as you go down the belt. Each time you wrap around the belt you're going to continue to add another piece of hair to wrap around the belt. Each time remember during the process. Don'T wrap crazy tight if you don't want crazy, tight curls, wrap it relaxed and loose and you'll get loose curls when you have no more hair to add and your hair is just in your hands as one amount, then you just continue winding it around and around Until you wrap it to the bottom of your hair, you can then grab a hairband and secure the robe in place around the bottom of your hair and then you're going to twist your hair in the direction of the curl, so that you feel the slight tightness. We want to tighten the curl, not loosen it and then wrap the hair into a princess, leia bun around itself. I like to use the end of my robe to kind of protect the hair in a way so that it's you know not getting frizzy against my bed. When i'm sleeping you can grab a large scrunchie, but i'm using my daughter's headband. It just happens to be the most comfortable for me and i'm going to be wrapping that around the hair. I find that a thicker scrunchie or headband. It won't dent the hair or make unnecessary tension on your head next you're, going to do the same thing on the other side, try to make it as even as possible just to keep the curls on both sides somewhat similar, and there we are. This is definitely a hairstyle that i feel i can easily do once a week, and it lasts for a few days, which i just love. It'S actually really comfortable to sleep on which is always kind of like the struggle i have with these heatless hairstyles that i've tried in the past. I love that it doesn't. Oh okay, how you doing there! I love that i don't get any headaches with this hairstyle since i'm doing such loose waves, it's pretty pretty comfortable. So i'm a fan notice that the part is not tapered down, i'm not pulling down on my head. Instead, i'm actually lifting up as i'm twisting, which is giving me additional volume - hey i'm going to do a little turn for you guys, so you can see a full 360.. I feel good about it. I think it'll be fine, so we just got a princess leia for the night and i will see you guys in the morning for the reveal bye good morning, everyone, so i actually woke up with my hair being a little damper than i wanted guys. I think this is just trial and error. You'Ll learn how much wetness you need to put on your hair for this hairstyle, but worst comes to worse. You can always use a hair dryer for those desperate situations. Okay, here we go i'm using some hairspray this time, because i'm super super nervous and i really want to make sure that this hair turns out good for the wedding i have today, because there is just no turning back so we're gon na start to take the Hair out, i never used any hairspray before by the way, but i'm just a little nervous, so we're just gon na make sure we have nothing to worry about today for this wedding uh, but hairspray is optional. So, let's see what this looks like: okay, i'm so nervous! We got this. We got this here. We go well a little bit more hairspray. What could it hurt? We'Ll just get that all over, as you can see, i'm starting to really freak out, because it's just so nerve-wracking when you're doing this for an event, but we're gon na take it out and see how it looks a moment of truth. Oh see a little bit of curl formation there. Okay, i see you bouncy curl still a little wet, but i think this time around or maybe it was being down south the humidity. Whatever reason, i think that my hair didn't quite dry as much as i wanted. It to in time for the wedding, but that is the reason that i believe that there's frizz here, you're not gon na find frizz. If you look at my second time, i did it my second video there was literally no frizz because it was so ridiculously dry. Just to let you guys know, i rather you learn from my mistake: that's what we're aiming for to wake up with extremely dry hair, but i mean look at that bounce, not bad. We can savor this. We can work with this. Let'S do more hairspray. I did not realize that i was brave. I was spraying this much, but i i was clearly nervous. Okay check out the bounce yep there we are check out the bounce. I know we're looking a little george washington here, but we are going to work that out. So do not worry, i'm just showing you guys what it might look like at first then, when you work your fingers through it you're going to see a huge difference and that's really when the curls come alive. So not bad right. I agree not bad, not bad. At all, we are oh yeah, all right, that's attractive! Here'S, my vitamin c, as you guys can see. I definitely got sick after the wedding, even with the vitamin c and elderberry, and check out this adorable suit. My little boy is gon na wear all right here. We go moment of truth shaking these curls out now just check it check how they're coming to life. Let'S get this little rascal out of here and i'm going to start to very gently part, my hair, the way i normally do so that you guys can see how these curls are looking - and i don't know about you, but to me it just it looks like Somebody took a wand to my hair, but did they? No? What did i do? I slept this is such an easy, easy thing and just to let you guys know the wedding actually went great. I ended up doing a half up half down style. I think it just gave me a little more confidence that the curls wouldn't fall out and they really didn't they actually lasted all night. I had several people tell me that they thought i actually got my hair done professionally, so that was definitely nice to hear, but i was super happy with it and i would do it again. What would i do differently and make sure that my hair is dry by morning so check the humidity make sure i don't dampen my hair too much and yeah here is a picture of me on the wedding day with my curls. Here is, after the wedding. Still looking good - and here is the next day, i was surprised that i could steal rocks with this all right guys. So that is the finished look.
