Heatless Curls Test! Mousse Vs Setting Lotion Spoolies Roller-Set On Natural Hair

Thumbs UP for affordable hair care tutorials!

I decided to buy some Lottabody Products to see how they work, get to know what different products do and see how my hair responds. I really wanted to compare the Mousse and setting lotion to see if there was a difference, but they are practically the same. These products are usually under $4 a piece at Walmart, but they didn't carry everything, so I went shopping online.

Hi you guys it's Lulu and welcome back to my channel in today's video. I want to share with you guys a comparison between setting lotion and mousse or forming wrap lotion. So I'm using my lotta body product line and, as you can see, to the left side of the screen, I have like all my products out there, but this is not a sponsored video. I actually bought all of these products with my own money and I'm starting by rinsing my hair out. I always do this before I shampoo, so I can like separate my strands and it's easy for me to shampoo and condition my hair. So the shampoo that I'm using is the hydrate me moisturizing shampoo, it's supposed to moisturize and deeply cleanse your hair, strengthen and help prevent breakage detangle and add shine. It'S a pretty good shampoo and I use a squeeze bottle all the time when I apply shampoo to my hair, but here I am just working the product through and making sure my scalp is really clean. I actually added some or rs shampoo to the mixture, but I did not show that that's why my hair is lathering so much so I'm also using my vanity planet. Scalp massaging shampoo brush. I love this brush because it actually gets in there and gives me that deep cleanse and it just helps me get my scalp nice and clean. So I'm happy - and I know my hair is clean from root to tip, so I just make sure I go in there all over around the perimeter get my edges, the back kitchen, everything and I went ahead and rinsed out my shampoo make sure you rinse your Shampoo out thoroughly everything you use, rinse it out thoroughly because sometimes not doing that will create an environment where your hair is itching a lot. So now, I'm just using my conditioner, also buy a lot of body to just conditioned my hair. Before I shower. I always rinse out my conditioner after I'm done showering so now that I'm done I'm using my lot of body. Five and one leap in treatment actually use this before when I did hair samples and I'm just going to go ahead and separate my hair in half one half is going to have the setting lotion in it. The other half is going to have the mousse in it, and I always put product in my hair before I start separating my hair, because my hair is really dry and hard. Sometimes so, after that, I went ahead and continued with a five and one leave-in treatment and just did smaller sections of hair because it is a detangler. So it helps this angle and condition your hair, prevent split, ends, add moisture and shine. It'S great for heat protection and it takes frizz. So what I did was I went ahead and applied some of the treatments to my hair and then after working the treatment through my hair, I went ahead and grabbed some olive oil and applied back to my hair. As well so that way, I could have nice lightweight products in my hair to help me detangle, my hair, the olive oil was for slip, and I also used the olive oil to massage my scalp, because I have itchy dry scalp issues. So the next thing I did was finger detangle, my hair, and this takes a long time. It takes about 45 minutes for me to do my whole head, but it's so worth it. When I finger detangle my hair, I get rid of shed hairs, but when I comb it without finger detangling, I end up breaking some hair, so I always finger detangle, then comb, my hair. So that way I have the least amount of shedding, but my hair is perfectly detangled. Now I am going to go ahead and use my lot of body moisturize me curl and style milk, I'm putting this throughout my hair. It defines curls, tames frizz, adds moisture and brilliant shine, and now I'm Bonsu knotting my - and this is what I do to set my hair before using the styling products that I want to compare. So I'm Barnes nodding my hair, I'm gon na do this throughout my entire head and now I am ready to start my test so starting on the right side. I am using my lot of body wrapped me, foaming mousse and I'm just getting small sections of hair and using my schoolies hair curlers, the pink ones cuz. I haven't use them in a while and they're really good for testing products to see if they work like. If they don't work with fuli's they're, not gon na work at all, so I'm just wrapping the mousse filled hair around my spoolie, I'm very generous with how much product I use, because sometimes you just have to be really generous with product. I am done with one side and I'm ready to move on to the next side, using the setting lotion, which is actually supposed to have a stronger hold, but it's difficult to use and I actually spilt it on the carpet. Well, I actually have something on the carpet to prevent spills, but I spilled it down there. So definitely be careful when you use it and be generous, as you can see, I keep pouring and using and pouring and using and pouring and using so you really want your hair to be soaking with when you use this product. So again, I'm using small sections of hair and I'm just wrapping the hair around one of my spool ease. These are the smaller spool ease and playful pink or glow-in-the-dark white. They do take awhile like a little bit over an hour to do the entire head, but you know it's worth it. So this is the next day my hair was dry and I was removing the rollers. I did not notice any difference at all between the setting lotion and the mousse. The setting lotion is supposed to have a stronger hold than the mousse. I didn't really notice any difference in hold in texture. No side felt harder than the other no side felt like it didn't dry adequately. So for me, both products are amazing. I prefer the mousse, because the mousse actually has a pump and I prefer a pump over having to pour liquid all over my hands. I'M not really proficient in using setting lotion. So for me I will be pouring my texturizing setting lotion into my foaming mousse bottle and using it that way and the products are affordable, they're, all under $ 4, so really you're not losing with this product line. Again, like I said previously, this is not a sponsored video. I always say it in my description box. If it is sponsored or not, but I will let you know where I got the products from and what products I used in the order that I use them. But this is my hair and I'm just stretching it out a little bit. I do not know what to do with my hair, so I just kept it short and that's all there is for this video you guys. Thank you so much for watching. As always, I will come back with more tutorials with a lot of body products because they do have a lot more products, and I will talk to you in the next one. Please don't forget to subscribe. Give me a big thumbs up and comment down below and bye.

Andreea J: Hi, I haven't used setting lotion in a long time so the formula could be different now. But back in the day you were supposed to dilute the setting lotion 1 part lotion to 1 part water. Caution to the twist out-ers out there. Please read the bottle before using the lotion, you may need to dilute it.

buzzard eggs: Thanks for this video! It is the year 2020 and this is the EXACT topic that I was searching for!

Sharmz McKenz: I usually put my setting lotion in an empty foaming mousse bottle. I love the shoe collection btw... :)

Charisee Phillips: Thank goodness I found your channel! I was discouraged from buying spoolies after seeing so many negative reviews on YouTube. Then I saw your videos and you made me a believer! They need to sponsor you ASAP. I love your personality, how clear and to the point you are and the time stamps you provide in the descriptions. Thank you!

Dawatha Brown: It came out beautiful. .. I gotta try those rollers. . and with the setting lotion i use a spray bottle...makes it easier to use

Deon Gillespie: I am so happy I stumbled onto this video today. It is fantastic. My hair is heat damaged, and I’ve been transitioning for about a year. I only just stopped flat iron in recently. I see so many videos of youtubers using both Lottabody products, and I see now that it’s not necessary. I found some spoolies on eBay last year for 99 cents, but not anymore. Where do you get yours? They seem very overpriced.

Y Serwaa: I am such a fan of yours, I tried a style you did in another video and it went so well. keep it up, thanks.

Diamond Lanier: Those are the craziest looking rollers- but clearly effective. You hair stretched A LOT just with the Bantu Knots. Very nicely done.

Lynette Hall: Your hair looked so pretty when finished!

KIA duffin: I like the lotta body setting lotion and I put mine in a bottle with a mist to it. Your hair turned out beautiful.

GOD BE THE GLORY!!! and shout out to everyone in the comments. Going to go get the setting foam as soon as I get off of work.

pepi everage: I like how you just got to the point some other channels they talk and talk you got right to do it I like that

Sola Olaniyi: Hi again, continuing from my first post below, you listed about four styling creams, so Q3- Were they all needed or wouldn’t the two from Walmart have sufficed? Also Q4-Am puzzles, wouldn’t Bantu knot-out have been sufficient or is the tension from- (what’s spoolie?)BK and Spoolie?(Maybe I should watch again) we don’t have it in Uk

Sue Richards: Your hair came out really good with the curlers you used, love your shoes collection too.

Godscreation02: Also, you need to pour the setting lotion into a spray bottle.

D D: Hehe she said 45 mins was a long time. It sounds wonderful compared to 6 hours doing extensions/braids!

Emeth: The best way to use setting lotions is to spray it on. Beautiful curls.

cheryl the black Army mom: I think they're the same product the difference is the pump what I did when I ran out of the blue so I exchanged the pump on the setting lotion and it Foams up just like the boosted and I use it just like that

Sola Olaniyi: Hiiii, thanks so much for these as I was considering very same products here in uk for my economy budget! Please is your hair Hi Porosity or Low and did you consider that in these products? 2. Did you use ALL the listed products? Is that why it’s so curly? (Am so glad our 4c hair can also be curly like this. (I loooove our natural hair in all forms plssss) cos many yrs ago I thought I had to relax my hair to get it curl up like this . Thanks again!

Lavette Green: This looks really nice! I'm gonna try this on my hair...

Missybeelondon: Ur hair is lush Hun. Shrinkage is real, thanks for the tip to finger detangle hair, it's so true about less breakage. Lotta body is on my list of products to try. Thanks for sharing hun

Star Baby: Have you ever thought of washing your hair in sections? It helps lessen tangles

Ginataylor Wms: Beautiful results!

Ebony White: It came out beautiful

naturalnaynay61: Thank you for the tips. I'm getting ready to try them now. Happy New Year

Myah Myah: I love the end result. Beautiful hair

Electra Rain: Came out so pretty

EH CBunny: Lottabody setting lotion is concentrated and I remember stylists using it diluted in a spray bottle when setting hair.

CinnamonComplex: Try using black soap shampoo and a good deep conditioner to moisturize your hair. It may be able to combat dry itchy scalp and dry strands. Also try Shea butter mixed with some other oils such as coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, or castor oil to seal in moisture. My last recommendation would be use aloe Vera gel from the plant instead of a deep conditioner if you have time to blend it. Good luck on your hair journey.

Am sure the small hair size also counts. ( Too small for Bantu right? ) Please let’s know how long this lasts you and how you maintain for bedtime /following morning. Thank you! So much
