Some guys say we have another easy protective style. I'Ve got that 1950s kind of rockabilly swoop. You got our Africana inspired, hair accessories to braids. I'Ve been braids. I was literally about to just throw in twist and I was like nope. I have to practice my braids. I'M really bad at braids and I feel like it breaks more of my hair off. I like to do twists better, but I really forced myself and I just I love the way that this whole style came out. I think it's just so cute. It looks so put together, I'm showing you a couple of ways to wear it. Just in case you work at a more formal work environment where you wouldn't really wear like pigtails yeah. I had a really fun time making this hairstyle, I'm so excited that I get to wear this style for the rest of the week. Hey. I hope that you guys enjoyed this video. I hope you give it a try, alright, guys so I'll. Let'S cue, the video starting out unstretched detangled and moisturized hair, I'm gon na make a clean, angled side part and continue that down the back of my head, and that should be about 1/3 of your hair overall, I'm gon na twist that up and clip it out Of the way, and now we're gon na repeat on the other side - and we want this part to be the same equal distance. So I'm measuring using my eyebrows as a reference and we're gon na make it hit it about the same point and then angle that part backwards. Creating a nice clean part again all the way down the back. So it should equal about another third of hair, twisting it up and clipping it out of the way, and now we have our last section in the middle. We'Re gon na make a part straight across at the crown of the head, then clip the front out of the way and, lastly, make a part straight down the middle and then just add that leftover hair to each of their corresponding sections on the sides of your Head so now we should have three sections and now breathe easy whoo. The hardest part is over parting can be such a pain, but we did it working one side at a time: release the section we're gon na remoisturize to prep the hair for long term styling and use whatever you like. I'M grabbing the main choice, three-in-one leave-in. First to remoisturize - and this will actually remoisturize your hair without having to add like separate water, which is awesome, because then the hair won't revert completely. And now I feel all the moisture in using my DIY mango buttercream link in the description working that in from ends to roots next. We want this to look nice and neat so grabbing a light hold gel. This is the passion, fruit, control, gel and applying it all over. My parts and at my edges brushing that down to make it look nice and sleek and don't worry this brush is super gentle and doesn't rip my hair. I got it at Sally's, okay, so now that prep work is done and all we do is cornrow the section back now, if you don't know how to corn braid, I'm gon na place a link for my detailed tutorial in the description box. Like I mentioned before, I'm not the best at this either, but practice makes perfect or if you're just not into it, you can always flat twist the sides instead, all right, so I braid as neatly as possible all the way down to the end twist and twirl That last bit of hair to lock it in place - and you can leave it like this or if you want extra protection for your ends - grab a gentle and no breakage elastic fold. Your ends upwards, so they aren't rubbing against your clothing, getting dry and then secure a place with the elastic. This method is totally optional, but it just adds a little bit more protection for your ends, all right, release that second side and repeat the same process. Remoisturize. The hair and seal that moisture in smooth your parts and edges with a light holding gel gently brush that product in to make it look nice and sleek, and then gently Kwan row, braid your hair down from roots ends and be sure to take your time. With this, so it looks nice and neat when you reach the very end, give it a twist and twirl to lock that braid in place, and this is optional, but you can fold your ends upwards, for additional protection. Securing them in place with a gentle elastic. All right now, the easy part release that top section the hair and we're just gon na part. The hair with our fingers going horizontally across. It doesn't need to look neat you're, not gon na see those parts we'll be making a total of three large sections and with each section we're just splitting the hair in half holding the hair vertically up and then two strand twisting the hair down and on these Sections I'm adding my moisturizers and sealants to the ends. Only. Why? Because I don't want my roots, reverting and then I also don't want the product weighing down the hair. We need those roots to stay nice and light and poofy. Now let that twist go and allow to fluff up and get nice and chunky. While you grab the second section across and repeat moisturize the ends split, the section in half and two strand twist. All the way down to the ends now release the twist to let it pouf up and get chunky. While we twist up that very last section now, all three sections on top are twisted. They look nice and moisturized just grab all three twists vertically bring them forward and wrap them around into a twisted asymmetrical bouffant. I think that's the word. Bouffant tuck, all the ends into the middle and bobby pin the hair in place. So now I'm just cleaning up my edges a bit and that's it a super, easy protective style, it's clean and structured, but still fun and youthful, so whose cornrow braids aren't formal enough for your work environment. All you have to do is pull the braids towards the back, pull in opposite directions and bobby pin in place, and now you have an instantly sophisticated, formal, updo, perfect for any work environment, but wait just one more option. You want to add a little bit more interest, a little bit more pizzazz, adding some fun accessories like these little golden cuffs, that you can find that most beauty, supply stories and here's how the gold cuffs look when the braids are worn down. So I hope you enjoyed this easy protective style perfect for work or weekend, alright guys. I really hope this helps and I'll see you in the next one give me down you wouldn't. If I ever get me

Naptural85: Hey guys! I've missed you!! ❤️ Here's a simple natural hair protective style that easily converts from weekend casual to professional updo in seconds! I hope you enjoy! XO! Nap

Cristin Lorraine: Wow, I know how I'm styling my hair this weekend! Such a cute and simple hairstyle! Thank you, Naptural85!

Jordan Monroe: I love this protective style! Unfortunately, I got scissor happy and cut my hair in January It's almost shoulder length but not long enough for this style. I will definitely save this style for the future

Kourτ Jεfε: Girl, I'm still working on getting my Flat twist so fresh and so clean from the last vid on protective styling... Kudos to your diversity and mixing it up. Love your gorgeous mane, girl!

Natural Neelah: I love this!! I was ready to take out this other protective style that I'm wearing and do something different and you just saved me!

Lizzette I: Thanks for the protective style idea! Definitely will be trying this one this weekend, since it's getting chilly here!

BabyBeyonce09: You know I’m about to do my hair like this Sunday!!! I love it!

ShaunieBNaturalista: Super cute. I like the unadorned all-up version the best! Simple, professional, and really attractive.

Mothernature 247: Simply beautiful! Definitely a must try

Pamela Shorter: I've been wearing one of your protective styles for a while now. You've helped me not to do wash and gos all the time. I'm gonna play with this one. Thank you.

Jessica Jessica Jessica: Come on Whitney you almost at 1mill So ready to see the person who inspired me to go natural, take care of my natural hair, and love my natural hair to reach 1 million subscribers

Royale Clay: I love this look! It is so pretty

Vi: Ooo this looks reaally nice. I still suck at cornrowing my own hair so this is gonna be one heck of a twisted hair do, for me

shanitha33: Your hair looks gorgeous no matter how you style it! Keep inspiring!!!

Jeannine Hooks: I love this! Yes, it took me 3 years to find and watch this… Also, I’m sure someone has commented this by now, but I think the word you wanted was pompadour. Bouffant is that puffy, flipped, and hair sprayed pageboy style that so many women wore in the 60’s and early 70’s.

Melanie Santana-Sanchez: at this point you could literally just make a video of you simply combing your hair and id watch with so much focus lol

Rivera Family: My hair became way more healthy when I started watching your videos, keep up the good work

Laur-Edine Pierre: This style is very cute! I might try it this weekend.

VerNeshia L: Wow I so did this 3 week ago on pre-stretch hair. It was so easy to manage! I like your version it is longer

shortandstuff C: This hairstyle is so perfect for me

ckelly: I'm always looking for easy protective styles and this one might be one of my favorites.

Shirkera Welch: I love this style!! I wish I knew how to cornrow. I just can't get it together

Naturalle Drea: I love it, such a cute style!

Tina L: I like what you did with your ends. I use elastic on my ends too, but never thought to fold the ends up. That's genius girlie! Thanks booski

MamaT815: Whitney, I think you do a great job at braiding! VERY cute!

KreativeColette: I like this style. Seems pretty easy. Gonna try it next week :-)

Dionne Minus: Girl you are just too magical for me sometimes. I can't wait to wear this

Veronica: Love the formal updo! Waiting for my hair to get this long lol.

Jasmine Wash: I love Whitney’s style. I love that she does more than the usual twist out/braid out. That’s why I continue watch it even though I know I will never do half of these styles... unfortunately I don’t have as much hair as Whitney but if I did you better believe I would try them. Also, I liked the style either way but I really liked the second version of this style better.

Kerri D: can you do a makeup routine on this look? it's so natural and pretty.

Nikkis Hair Care Reviews: I have nowhere near the amount of hair you do but a girl can dream! Love ya Whitney!

Jason Williams: You’re hair looks fantastic

Nadine Modé: I love it. Going to try it for this weekend

zaisheiya pyner: yesss do more protective styles!!! i love it

Ivanna Alpizar: I love your videos, I really wait with excitement for them <3 but it makes me very sad they are so short. I still love your content!

alison hilaire: My hair is short yet i'm super excited by the style lol. I really like the middle part, it's like a twisted pompadour :-) unfortunately, I've realized lately that I can't do flat twist or cornrows unless my hair is blow-dried :-/. On unaltered hair, it causes a lot of breakage and gives me headaches too!

Rhonda Iris: Love this style! Will definitely try it....

kinky Crown: It is protective style season and this was cute! When I braid it looks so bad but I could do a twist

Allison on YouTube: Very nice. Great job on the braids.

The Love Supreme Queen: Yesssss Whitney, this is cute!! I'll have to pull this out at work.

DAREN TV: Awesome work Whitney love the hair, also looks like a warrior hairstyle!

Tessy D’Aquino: Great hairstyle love it ❤️❤️

Jazzerlat45: I love this style with the braids pinned up. I think it would look so cute if you were to go to a dinner or some other fancy event. I think one would look classy and chic with this hairstyle (again, with the braids pinned up).

Richiey H: I really like the formal professional option. I may try this next week. TY!

Dean Senecharles: Great too see you lady! YOUR HAIR has grown out nicely

MsNola N: Love it!!! Saves alot of time.

Ruth Foxe: I love the style but unfortunately I have fine hair and my braids would require weave and I don’t like having to do that. Synthetic hair cuts my fingers and my natural hair. Now with all that being said I am going to give it a try and maybe it will look a lot better than I think. Keep your fingers crossed. Have a blessed day and keep the videos coming.

Ali B: Really nice style!

cherrynellieperiod: This was an awesome video thank you so much!!!

Livin'WithLysa: Love your videos always!!!❤
