I Just Discovered The Best Way To Use Flexi Rods! | Gorgeous Heatless Curls

So I think I just discovered the best technique to use flexi-rods! It was a struggle at the beginning but the end results were stunning. Perfect if you're trying to lay off using heat for a bit.

I actually completely forgot to say how I prepped my hair before doing this in the video. It was freshly washed, moisturised and blowdried, then I applied Creme of Nature Argan Oil mousse to each section before rolling.

You don't NEED to blow dry your hair before doing this! It's optional.

Moment of truth, oh my god, that's so cool, so i've been getting really tired of straightening, my hair, because obviously you guys know i'm transitioning and i have two textures at the moment and i just normally have my hair straight and i've been liking. It i've been enjoying it. My hair still feels fine, but in the same breath i think like i want to like lay off the straighteners a little bit and try and do some more heatless hairstyles. Obviously i'm so new to this. I don't know what to do so. I'Ve been doing my own scrolling on youtube and i found like a few videos of girls using flexi rods to like get their hair, nice and curly, which i think looks like the perfect heatless hairstyle. So i just thought: it'd be really fun today, just to follow a tutorial. I don't know if this is gon na work, because my hair is like half natural half relaxed, but i'm gon na try it anyway, okay. Well, i failed at the first hurdle because she said 30 rods and i only have 20. so she uses mousse and a styling cream. I don't have a styling cream, so i'm just going to use the mousse and hope. That'S enough roll your hair around the flexi rod, which directions remember to twist. Let me try that again. Oh this is so hard. Okay, guys, i'm getting frustrated. I can already tell mine is not tight enough on the root, but i don't know what to do about that. Oh i know i'm gon na. Do oh my gosh. Oh that's! So secure! Okay, forget the tutorial, no offense, but i think i've just found a much better technique, especially if you don't have enough rollers, i get the section which you can see is pretty big get the mousse again, so you get the hair and you twist it a little Bit so that it's nice and tight on the on your head, then you get the blender on you put at the base of your head right at the root and then you just start bending and twisting it around the bendy roller. And as i twist i kind of twist again like that same like what she did, i'm gon na get some more moves put at the ends and then bend the bendy roller over over that now. I do this part last and i start to twist it again. Just to make sure it's really tight and then i put the bendy roller over that perfect, so i actually want to redo some of these now i've got a better technique, but i also feel like i can't be bothered, so i might just leave it. Oh, i hope this works, i'm gon na be so sad if it doesn't one more time i twist it around to get a nice tight start. So it's flat on my head and i get the bendy roller and i let the longer end point down. So i put it like that and the longer end is down here then i twist it around the bendy roller and then, if you see my wrist twists every time it goes back around it and then that should be tight in place. And then you have the little bit that hangs out moving that down and then wherever the end is that's where you want to squeeze it so there. So i'm going to push it up then twist the whole thing round again until it's really tight at the root and then i'm just going to bend that over now this one is coming off. I'M going to redo that one. I think that's a mistake i made. I wasn't bending it over the end, so that's where the tip ends, so i need to bend it up to cover it. Otherwise, it's going to come off then twist the whole thing around again until it's tight at the top and then bend that over okay. So i've finished there and because i have five more i'm in two minds. I think i might just like do one of these again and i split it out and yeah. I'M gon na go to bed now and wake up in the morning and then we can see how it turns out. Okay, so it's the next day and these actually stayed in place. I'M really quite shocked, so i did put them in quite securely and it wasn't actually that difficult to sleep on um. I think because i've done it in a way, that's quite flat to my head. It was quite comfortable. There was no real issues. I did end up separating these two out, like i said i had all those additional bendy rollers moment of truth. Oh, my god, that's so cool, so that definitely worked wow and you can see it's like twisted right from the root, so i think twisting it before you put the bendy roller. Definitely works. Look at that! Okay! Let me just start taking all the rest off now. Okay, so that's all of them off and now i'm just going to start unraveling them and just separating it out and making it look a little less crazy. I have my hair oil, i'm just going to put it on my scalp first, because my scalp needs some hydration. Now, i'm just going to get some oil on my hands and i'm going to use that to separate the hair out. Okay, i'm just gon na twist. It around my finger and that already looks better okay. Now, let's do this all the rest, it's nice! It really is, but i still feel like it looks a little bit wiry, so i'm going to separate them out a little bit more okay. I'Ve started to rake the comb through it because i just feel like, even though i'm separating it, it still looks really like ringlets, i'm not enjoying the wrinkle thing. That looks so much nicer to me anyway. I'M doing this really gently because i don't want to like make the hair too frizzy okay. So now i like it and you can't really tell the difference between the relaxed and natural hair, which i think is great. So i think this is a really good alternative to using straighteners drop a comment down below. aanays: This came out so cute. Do you find it's easier to style your hair starting off with blow dried hair rather than wet hair? This style came out so sleek and smooth. I love it

V’Dezdra _: You did really good!! You are doing well with transitioning.. your hair looks strong and healthy.

roxylovingly: Looks awesome and the tip is so helpful! I often struggle making them secure at the root as well

Yannie So: The result is super gorgeous! :) I rarely use hair products, and I'm not sure if my soft and fine hair needs the mousse? May I ask what is it for? I have the problem of securing the ends cause my hair is simply too fine to stay put, perhaps using mousse can help with that? Thanks!! :)

ilobokeme Eromosele: Giiiiirrrrlll this lewk!!!!! ✨✨ also... it’s the consistency for me! I love how your videos keep getting better and better!. Finally I can use my bendy rollers! ✨

Tashia BBE: That is sooo cute! Turned out so well!

OkayestMomEver: Did you just do this on blowdried hair or hair that was already flat ironed and needed a refresh? Also how long did the style last? Did you re-wrap it in the curlers at night?

Yasmin Keita: Oh yes!! This looks so good !!

Jasmine Mayhew: Can't even lie you look stunning!!!

Taomie Okpara: Wow

Nthabeey: ❤️

Sloan the Beast: how long were you able to wear this style for?

Nomfundo Molefe: Are you still interested in natural hair though, i kinda feel like you're more into straight, processed hair. There's no shame in having relaxed hair. Your journey is just a bit confusing to follow.

Jenny: but i have short layered hair
