Today, i'm going to share with you my go-to humidity proof routine. I'M also going to throw in a couple of tips and tricks for getting your hair to last through the humidity, such as ingredients, product types and little techniques that you can use to help your hair. Last i'm delilah from the holistic enchilada and on my channel i share tips, tricks and resources to help you embrace your curls and keep things simple. You can head over to my blog holisticchild.com for lots. More free resources. Follow me on social media at holistic enchilada and subscribe to this channel for more curly hair content. All right, these are the results of my humidity proof routine. This is my go-to routine for the summer months here in central florida. So this is one of the most humid areas in the u.s. Remember that my hair is low to medium porosity, fine and low to medium density. So i don't need a lot of moisture. It'S weighed down very easily, so i have to use really lightweight products and that affects the product choices that i have. Although i give tips for other curl types, the products that i'm using work really well for my curl types. So if you've got like really thick dry, coarse, curly hair, these products may not work for you. I would say, maybe, like the shampoo and conditioner the styling products might be fine, but you would definitely have to tweak things a little bit, but i just kind of want to put a little kind of psa out there about that, so that you kind of understand Why i have chosen the products that i'm using in this routine, all right, let's get to it, so i washed my hair shampooed and conditioned with twists, so i used the hit reset light, clarifying shampoo and the weather or not conditioner. I really love these two products. I'Ve got a review on them in another video, but these are both very lightweight moisture, so they work really well for my fine hair. They have two other lines that have one has more moisture. Another one has like extra ultimate moisture so choose based on what you need, but i like that these are lightweight for me, and this conditioner is called element defined conditioner. It'S got humidity resistant ingredients in it, so it works really well for me now, especially in the summer, so i just put in a towel for now, but my hair is wet and i always like to start off with. If i need some moisture i'll add in a little bit of lightweight moisture, but it's key to pay attention to the ingredients, you don't want anything that has a bunch of humectants in it without humidity resistant ingredients. So if it's got glycerin it's okay, if there are copolymers in there like poly, quads pvp, those kinds of things that add, hold and block out humidity, if it doesn't have those ingredients in it and it has glycerin or honey or other humectants, then i would probably Not use it as a leave-in product, because it's just so humid, where i'm at in other places that might be okay, sometimes i'll, put a little dab of this conditioner. As my leave-in, another good option is the curl smith featherlite protein cream. So i usually like to use something that has cus like a small amount that has a little bit of protein and humidity resistant ingredients, maybe even a little bit of hold, and that is usually enough for my hair. So i'm just going to apply this and i'm going to brush it through, because my hair is very tangled, since i kind of just wrapped it upside down, i didn't detangle in the shower. Okay, the next step is going to be the hold product, the actual main styling product. So my favorite top choice is the we dad stronger hold of the advanced climate control. So it's this red bottle. I like this one better than the white bottle. The white bottle. Doesn'T give me enough hold if it's raining outside it kind of just fluffs and falls flat, but this one's stronger and it works really well. For me, another good option is the twist weather up gel. It'S almost as good as we did. I find it a little less moisturizing, so this can be drying. So if you're using this one, i would definitely layer a little bit more of your leave-in or cream underneath this one's more moisturizing. But people still will say that these can be drying on their hair and that's because of the holding ingredients in there. So you would want to just layer a little more moisture underneath, but these are both really great options. Another good one is the curlsmith hydroflexa jelly that one's got really good humidity resistant ingredients. It'S got really great, hold nice and lightweight. So those are like my three that i cycle through today, i'm going to use the we dab. So i want to make sure my hair is wet enough, so i'm going to wet it and flip over and apply the gel okay, you can see it's dripping, and so that's how i know that i'm good to go so i'm gon na go in with the We dad advanced climate control, gel it's about a dime size and i will go and add a little bit more after okay, i'm going to microflop now and then follow with a little bit extra gel and that's a good way to get some extra hold for the High humidity, my hair is really not that wet, but i find that micro plopping helps to encourage the curl columns to stick together a little better and remove some frizz actually, so that's why i do it, even if my hair is not that wet okay. Now that i have microplumped i'm going to add a little just a small bit of gel so water it down just a little bit, so i can get it to emulsify. Well, i'm just gon na scrunch this in and it's just kind of making sure that i have enough product, especially on the ends that will frizz up first and then. This is also my problem areas. So now i'm going to wait a few minutes and diffuse and come back and show you the results all right. So i diffused and then did my makeup, so it could settle and these are the results. So i've still got a little bit of a cast on some of my ends, but this part is all kind of already fluffed out, so the last step is to seal everything in and this is optional. However, my hair does last longer when i do this. So a lightweight oil or some type of a serum. If you use a silicone serum, if you're not doing curly grill method, then that's great, because any type of silicone is like just a barrier and think of like a raincoat in between like the humidity and your hair, so it will form a barrier. My two favorite options are evolves, wonderbomb and curl smith's bonding oil. I don't like a lot of oils, so that's why i love wonderbomb, because this is not an oil. It is a serum using a silicone alternative. So it's a natural type of a silicone that actually it doesn't build up on the hair, and this has no scent and it lasts. This bottle lasts a really long time. However, it is a very pricey product. So another option is this: curl smith bonding oil. Now this isn't great for every hair type. They also have a shine oil, which would be a better option if your hair doesn't do well with a lot of like protein type ingredients, because this is a protein oil um. This is super lightweight. It'S like really watery. So that's why i like it. I'M gon na use this one for this video, so i just do like one pump, which is not a lot. Actually, a lot came out, so i'm actually going to wipe some of this off. Okay, i wipe some off, so i would maybe go with half a pump. I don't know i feel like normally not that much comes out, so i'm just going to smooth it over my hair and this helps to release the cast and seal everything. In another thing you can do if it's really humid, especially if it's raining, is leave your hair in a cast, because that's going to be the ultimate protection against the humidity, especially if it's raining, i will do that when it's raining, sometimes that way, it doesn't get Ruined immediately and my hair will actually last a couple of days because if it was raining right now - and i went out like this - it wouldn't last very long just because there's really not much that can hold up against like actual rain in the air. So that's just um like an extra insurance policy and then you can always. If you've got some frizzy pieces, you can always get a little bit of the oil or serum and finger coil. I don't think i have any. I see like this is a little bit. Wonky right here, so you can always just toilet and that will bring it back to life, alright, so yep. This is what i'm left with. So you can see. I'Ve got really good definition. A lot of shine, especially with the serum added in at the end um. I'Ve got good volume because i just did my hair, so this will fall a little bit over throughout the day and the next day and all that, but this is, i love this combo right here. My hair will last a couple of days. I would say about three on average, so that's typically how long i go wow. This is really curly. Normally this one doesn't get that curly. Look how short it is compared to the rest, but yeah. This is my humidity proof routine. Let me show you the back. Almost so you can see got some new white hairs coming out here. They'Re super short, so they like stick up so there you go. That'S my humidity proof routine. I will put links to all the products in the description. If you have any questions about this, let me know in the comments. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did please hit that like and subscribe button, and i will see you in the next - you

Liliana Peters: Simple and efficient routine, thank you! I would like to see what your hair looks like after you spent some time outdoors. I have no problems styling after the wash day, the struggle is to get the hair to hold a curl. Unfortunately, with my short, fine, low density hair, wearing a cast all day does not look good on me.

Lita Torres: Great routine, I’ll definitely try the twist gel. I’ll also use a oil and see how it works. Thank you ❤️

Simply Amanda's Homestead Sampler: I love the Twist Weather Up gel! I just tried the Ouidad Advanced Humidity gel today. The dew points have been in the mid 70's! Hopefully I can get 3 days out of it. Beautiful hair! Tfs! Blessings!

just jess asmr: Looks so good! I’ve been loving the Ouidad climate control products lately! I am curious about the curlsmith products

Wavy Jennifer: I really like the Jessicurl Spiralicious because it has polyquat-69, but I have higher porosity hair.

Love 1980 Music: Awesome & helpful video. Thank you.

Tiny Dawg: A bit off topic - do you ever brush your hair when it's dry? Like before you wash? Is it bad for the hair or curls?

Melissa Prado: How can I tell what type of hair I have? My hair is curly and grey. I live in a dry climate. Any suggestions welcomed

Kandy Negus: Is Quidad a clean product?
