Protective Style | Ponytail | Relaxed Hair

Hi everyone welcome to my channel, i'm jody janelle. Today, i'm going to be doing a hair tutorial video on this super easy protective style that i do when i'm stretching my relaxer or whenever i just want to give my hair a break. This is one of my favorite protective styles to do just because it's so easy and it makes my hair look so sleek. So if you would like to see how i do this easy protective hairstyle keep watching, so i'm going to start out with using my wild growth here, oil just to moisturize my scalp and i really enjoy using this product because of how it makes my scalp feel So clean and nourished shout out to my mom for putting me on this product thanks mom and after i apply my growth oil. I like using my shampoo brush in a circular motion to massage the oil into my scalp. Now i'm going to go in with the as i am so much moisture, leave-in conditioner, as well as the argon hair oil, to make sure my hair is nice and moisturized for this protective style. So, as you can see guys, i'm just putting my hair in a slick ponytail before i work on my edges and i'm going to be using the smooth and shine hair gel along with my little edge brush here. To lay my edges down and i'm going to add some more leave-in conditioner to my ends to make sure they're, nice and moisturized as well before i put it in a little bun do so after my hair is nice and slick down? Just how i like it. I go in with my satin scarf here just to keep everything in place, while my hair dries so for this look, i'm going to be using the 42 inch expression braiding here um. I really like this color. I love the highlights and the little ombre effect that it has at the end, so i'm going to use two bundles out of this pack, so i just want to prep the bundles i'm going to comb. It out make sure it's nice and detangled, and i'm also going to keep those rubber bands that come with the braiding hair, i'm going to keep those on while i prep it so using those two rubber bands that are still connected to the braiding here. I use that to connect it to my bun and that's going to help make the foundation for my ponytail after i slip it right on top of my hair. What i do i separate the bundles and i slide one bundle of the hair right. On top of my bun, while keeping the other bundle of hair right below my bun, so i just take my time play with the hair maneuver it to make sure that my hair is centered in between those two bundles and that my natural hair is not peeking. Through and once the hair is nice and centered, what i do i just take out a little piece of the braiding hair, so i can wrap it around the base of my ponytail just to make it look neat and hide any edges and also secure it. To my bun as well now i'm going to hold that piece. I just wrapped in place with a few bobby pins just to make sure it's nice and secure, make sure nothing moves and then i'm going to repeat that process on the other side of the ponytail. I'M going to grab another section of here, but now i'm going to wrap it in the opposite direction and then again secure it with a few more bobby pins do and i'm going to add a couple more bobby pins right on top of those pieces of hair. That i wrapped around the base of my ponytail just to make sure that that hair doesn't slip down, it doesn't unravel and it just stays nice and intact. And i'm going to end this look by using my cantu hairspray to give my hair a nice shine. So that's it guys for this protective style. I really hope you enjoyed watching this video.
