So i apologize for that. I'M gon na eventually get it right like three four months down the line and be laughing at all this, but you know i'm glad you guys are here with me: okay, so um in today's class i'll be giving you tips on how to grow your hair long And healthy, and so last week i gave some reasons why your hair is not growing this week. It'S the opposite, and while there are many reasons why you may not be retaining length, i will visit those in another class because it's like a whole slew of reasons. That could be the reasons why you're not retaining length, but i just went over a few because i don't want to make these classes really long, because i know you guys, you know, have your lives and you don't want to be up in class. You know for hours on end, okay, so the one thing i like to always tell people is to focus on taking care of your hair, keeping it healthy and the length will come so the length is like, in a sense, a reward. A byproduct of you like practicing um healthy hair care practices, so take care of your hair and do what you're supposed to do and you're going to gain length. So just got to be patient. It'S straight facts. A lot of people make the mistake of focusing on growth. I know a lot of people. They tend to like to do like the um, the fast growth challenges, or they tend to like to take vitamins that promise them an inch a month or they like to do um. I don't know all types of stuff like i've seen people do clothes and rice, water and just all types of things and types of oils to help grow their hair faster. But that shouldn't be the focus, because you can do all those things and neglect your hair and you still want. You still won't gain the length because you're not doing the things that you're supposed to do to get your hair healthy, you're. Just doing the things that you want to do to make your hair real, fast you're, neglecting the whole process of it, so um just be patient with it. So you cannot gain healthy length without proper hair care practices. I don't care how many pills you take or how many sprays you put on your scalp kind of older scalp. You just can't do it. You'Ve got to take care of your hair, so i want to talk about what is length retention, hey everybody! It'S the ability to retain as much of the hair, that's growing in as possible, so whatever grows out of your scalp. If you see your hair growing down some, then that means you're retaining length. Okay, lack of length retention is the main reason why you're not seeing longer limbs and also texture hair takes more tender, loving care and patience, and i'm going to teach you that there's a lot of things, i'm going to teach you in these classes and simple stuff. I mean it doesn't have to be hard. You know doing these things. A lot of people think that you know, hair care has to be like the street part thing i mean it can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be hard. You can actually enjoy it. Okay, so, first of all, i want to tell you a few things. I want you to do a few things. Okay, i want you to stop looking at pictures and comparing and coveting other people's hair. I have seen this time and time again i wish my hair was like, or i wish my hair was look like or stuff like that. You'Ve got to stop doing that. Okay, stop thinking that if you had a different texture, that things will be easier uh. First of all, everyone has hair struggles, everyone every race, everyone has hair struggles, but what it, what the difference is. Is they don't talk about it or they don't talk about it as much as people with texture. Hair does so learn to love the hair. That is going out of your scalp learn to love the hair that god gave you, and things will be a lot better for you, because whenever we like are thinking the grass is green. On the other side, we tend to get upset, we tend to get resentful. We tend to, you know, have animosity, we need to do hate, what's growing out of our scalp things like that, and we we don't want to do that. We want to learn how to love our hair. So i want you to learn what your hair wants and what your hair needs and learn to love and nurture your hair. That'S very important and you'll be surprised what will happen if you finally start taking care of your hair properly, it can make a complete turnaround and i'm not just talking about like you know, years later, you're going to see results when i was in the salon - and I was working with my customers. Most of the time i saw results within about six months, like really good, solid results within about six months, so it just takes a little patience. Okay, so um! Last week we talked about things that keep you from retaining length, such as like a moisture too much heat, mishandling your hair medications and hormones, and not trimming so this week, we're going to talk about the opposite of that. Okay, so, first of all, less is more, so you don't have to do this long, complicated regimen to grow your hair long, your hair, likes consistency, that's very important. Doing the same thing to your hair on a regular basis is very, very, very important. It likes consistency. More than anything else, and so that means consisting shampoos and consistent, deep conditioning treatments and consisting moisturizing. Those are like the three building blocks of um, healthy, hair care, shampoo and deep conditioner hair, no less than once every two weeks. But some people can do it once a week. Some people need to do it once a week, but once every two weeks is generally about the amount of time that you should you know put in between shampoos. Uh, our hair can handle that it's fine, okay, but you can shampoo and deep condition weekly as well, because i have done in the past. It works out just fine and then you got to find a regimen. That'S easy! Um, like finding a regimen, that's easy, with only the basic steps where you'll do better results and have a long regimen with a bunch of complicated, unnecessary steps, because when you do too many things, it wears you out and then you kind of dread um. When it's time for you to go, do your haircare regimen or do your shampoo day, you dread it because you're like oh man, i have 10 steps. Oh man, this is expensive. Oh man, this, and so just try to keep it as simple as possible, find out what your hair likes our hair does like simplicity. We don't have to do all these crazy things to our hair, to get it to thrive and retain length. Okay, so just keep it simple, that's very, very, very important and plus, when you keep it simple. It also keeps you from dreading shampoo day and dreading your routine. If you only have a few steps to perform as compared to like this whole, you know dictionary of lists. You have performed every day and plus it eats into your pocket. The more excuse me, the more steps you perform, the more money you have to spend on products to put on your hair, so just think about that too. Okay, so another thing too, is just because your regimen is simple, doesn't mean it's not going to take three or four hours, it's just that you don't have as many steps to it. So just be mindful of that. You know. Texture. Hair does take a little bit longer because there's the detangling and all that stuff that goes along with, and you want to be gentle and take your time with your hair and, as i always say, if you don't have time to be gentle with your hair. On shampoo and deep conditioned day, you need to postpone it into a day that you can be gentle with your hair. I will always say that it's very important, because on shampoo day you can lose a lot of hair. You can damage your hair on shampoo and deep conditioning day if you rush through it, so just be mindful of that. Okay, another thing i want to say is leave your hair alone. I know a lot of people don't want to, but texture hair likes to be left alone point blank period. Okay, your hair doesn't like to be overhandled, find a style where you don't have to manipulate your hair too much um. It can be something like twists: braids, buns, twist outs, braid outs, ponytails that you something that you leave in for extended periods of time, um, wigs weeds, etc. Things like that, hey guys, uh anything that can get your hair up and like out of the elements, get your ends tucked under or if you want to do semi-protective styles, that gets your hair off of your shoulders or off of your back. That helps in any anytime. You can go into a style where you can go without manipulating combing. Brushing. Excuse me styling your hair for long periods of time. It can be very rewarding. Excuse me so um getting your hair into a style that protects. It not only keeps it out the elements, it keeps you from touching and manipulating your hair all the time, and it also gives your hair a much needed break, allowing it to thrive. Texture hair thrives in protective styles for sure, if you're wearing protective styles, wigs wheeze, braids, wig braids things like that, you know don't keep them in too long. You know take them out after eight weeks, or so you know if you're wearing uh semi-protective styles. Generally generally, like braid outs and twist outs and call outs and flexi rod sets and all that type of stuff. Generally after about a week week and a half or so it's starting to look crazy. So it was going to be about time to um, going ahead and redo that and uh your hair doesn't stay as moisturized when you're in those type of styles, because it's out in the elements, those are semi-protective styles. But when you're in protective styles, where you tuck all of your hair away, those are the most beneficial ones, not saying that you can't retain length with the semi protective styles, but you can. But i feel, like you, go into maximum length retention mode when you use the um, the protective style that took over here away, okay and and save that question for me to the end, i'm going to get to the end and answer questions: okay, okay, so moisturize Your hair, often texture hair, tends to be dry. Y'All know that moisturizer hair in between shampoos and to add back the lost moisture. Okay, so you should be moisturizing while you're in protective styles as well. So, if you're, if you're wearing protective styles, if you have have protective styles for your hair, is covered up completely, where everything's, tucked under two to three times a week, is beneficial. If your hair is in a semi protective style, where you're wearing out like a braid out twist out, call out flexi route set or something like that, you're going to need to moisturize, you know um about the same about every 2-3 days and how you do. It varies differently too, but we'll we'll get into that. Like another time, oh and i'll answer that question too, but pretty much um a protective style is when you tuck your hair away and out of the elements so say, for instance, this is a protective style. I'M wearing my hair in a bun. My ends are tucked under it's moisturized. A bun is a protective style, because i can wear this for a few days and not touch my hair or any style to get your hair up and tucked up. If you want to wear um like a sew-in weave or a lace, front wig, or something like that, anything that can get your hair put away, braid it down and up out of the elements as a protective style. Okay, all alrighty. Okay. Another thing too, is um. If you are wearing any type of chemicals in your hair, whether it be keratin treatments, relaxers or hair, color uh, don't over process your hair um, you got ta stretch out the times in between uh getting those processes if you're wearing relaxers. I know a lot of hairstyles, they recommend you getting relaxed every six, eight weeks or so on and so forth is too often and you're going to want to over process in your hair so stretch those relaxers out to you know i would say 12 weeks or More 16 weeks, if you can go longer, that's fine too stretch out your color. I know a lot of a lot of women out there. They color hair because they want to cover gray or they color their hair because they want their hair a different color. If you stretch those processes out a little bit longer, you'll run into less chance of over processing your hair and plus in between the time of your stretching it'll, give you time to rebuild the hair and nourish the hair and get prepared for the next process. So just be mindful that if you're wearing keratin treatments don't get those done every six to eight weeks. First of all, you're gon na wind up with like um heat damaged here, and your hair is going to wind up being limp and just not the way that it was previous before you got the keratin treatment, so just make sure that you're stretching the character treatments Out doing them on a as negative basis, i would say maybe twice a year at best, but that's me: okay, all righty, if you guys would hold the question to after i finish, the class of classes getting close to the end, and i will go through and Answer the questions: okay, try a regimen with little to no heat um, where and and the no heat regimen would be styles that don't require heat on your natural hair and so that that would be like a braid out twist out. You know things like that, where you can just um braid your hair twist it while it's wet and then unravel it. Try styles like that or either um only use heat on shampoo and deep conditioning day. You know none of that touching up your hair in between uh. You know shampoo day, none of that. You know touching up your edges and all that stuff trying to look polished all the time, because the thing is when you're in the process of uh growing your hair, healthy and long. There'S going to be plenty of days where you don't look polished polish is not necessary, especially in this day and age. When everybody has big hair, you know and natural hair, just not polished, you don't have to be polished, okay, okay, so another thing, too, is: if you are using heat turn your curling iron or your flat iron down. You know between turn it down a lot of people. They want to go straight to the turn it down do in between 350 and 375 that works yeah, okay, so another thing too um your protective styles, when you're taking out your protective styles, you've got to be sure to be super gentle and comb out. All the tangles and shed hair before you shampoo, because if you don't it's going to run you're going to run into matting and tangling and guess what matting and tangling equals damage, which is a no-go okay. So the takedown process is one of the most damaging processes. If you haven't properly taken care of your hair in between your protective style, so if you're wearing a weave or we're wearing a wig or wig braids - and you don't take care of your hair, underneath it's going to be dry, it's going to be parched. If you haven't shampooed and deep condition it then it's going to you know when take down. Comes your hair's going to be drying parts, and so, when you take down, you might wind up with a lot of damage, because there's gon na be hair all over the place, because it's dry, dry, hair breaks, dry hair gets damaged so um when you're doing when You'Re taking out protective styles, if you can't be slow and gentle while doing it, and if you don't have time, maybe you should have somebody help you, maybe a friend or a family member or go to a professional and let them do it because they're experienced at It and they know what to do, and they know how to save your hair. If you've been in a situation where you you wind up, taking like keeping your protective style in too long and your hair is matted, definitely go to professional because they can help you get the mats and tangles out and save your hair. But if you're, not careful. If you don't take care of your hair, while you're protected, while you're in a protective style, taking that style down, can cause a lot of damage breakage and take a lot of your hair with you. So just be mindful of that. Protective styles are great because they give our hair a break and they also um help us to retain length, but they can also backfire. I'Ve seen it time and time and time again, because you don't take care of your hair properly, while the protective style, and so when you take it down, there's a lot of damage and breakage, and you want to have to get your hair cut. Be mindful that all right, okay, so another thing too, is be sure that you are using the correct products for your hair needs. Um, you need products that are softening detangling and highly moisturizing. Those are number one i mean there's other products you need as well, but those will be your key products that you need detangling products to help, get the knots and tangles out of your hair, um softening products that make it easy to comb. You know highly moisturizing products to nourish your hair and make sure their hair is, you know, moisturized and not breaking from dryness, and these products will make your hair regimen so much easier and using the right products nourishes your hair and helps it thrive. That'S very important! You know getting the things that your hair likes, getting the thing that your hair thrives on and sticking with that a lot of people think that they have to try the new next product all the time. You don't have to do that if you're, if products that you know were developed 10 years ago or 20 years ago, working on your hair and your hair's thriving on it, you need to keep using it. You don't have to keep switching because there's always going to be something new. There always is it just is i mean that's the way the world goes, but that doesn't mean you have to jump on every bandwagon that you see, because it could be one of those things where you jump on that bandwagon. It winds up backfiring because your hair hates it and you want to losing hair and having to get cut and then you're off to square one again. So just be mindful of that. Okay, i'll talk about that in a second okay. Last but not least, make sure your body is getting the right nutrients. Okay, healthy hair starts within it. Just does. Okay, if you struggle with healthy eating, get you some supplements, you know and make sure you drink plenty of water too, because water does help moisturize your hair and scalp. Believe it or not. Healthy hair starts from within. So i know a lot of people they struggle with um. You know just eating a lot of fruits and vegetables and and um there's a full enrich of silicones and proteins, and things like that is what are her needs and a lot of people struggle with that. So if you struggle with that, then get you some supplements and we'll i'll talk about supplements in another class. I don't want to like fill the class with too much information, but i'll talk about that type of stuff and the things that your body needs in another class. Okay, so that is all i have so just remember, guys to find out more information to sign up to get notified of the class, and i promise you guys i am going to get this whole thing straight with the streaming go to my link tree and there's All types of information um there in uh it's a link there where you can sign up. So you cannotified about the classes and if you haven't already done it, you can go there. Okay, so that's it, and so we can go ahead and get into the q. A so i'm gon na scroll up to the comments and see the questions, so i can go ahead and answer those and then you guys can go ahead and start typing your comments in so fiona hi. Do you still do cruise videos? That'S how i found your channel. Oh thanks. No, i haven't been on a cruise since 2019. I do not peace and blessings to you. Thank you, yay! I'M glad you guys are so excited. How often should i trim my relaxed hair if i keep it in a protective style? Most of the time, i would say, probably um, every other protective style, so maybe about every four months, would be a good trim schedule. You may be able to go a little bit longer depending on how well you take care of your hair, but about four months is a sweet spot, but the trim is a half an inch or less just be mindful you go on instagram. You see all these people saying trim time and they're cutting off like five inches of hair. That'S not tremendous haircut. A trim is a half an inch or less once you get above that, then we're talking about a haircut okay. What exactly is protective style. I think i already answered that. That'S a style when you get your hair up and out of the elements such as this bun right here or you can wear braids um the single braids. I i would kind of consider that kind of a protective style but uh braiding, your hair down for a weave or a lace wig or something like that protective styles. Any anytime, you get your hair, your hair, tucked under and out of the elements as a protective style. Okay, do you use gel for a wash and go um yeah just make sure that you moisturize your hair really well before you put the gel on, but yes um. If you have texture hair, it's kind of hard to get away from using gel uh with a protective style, it's a must in a sense and jingle your hair too, because you definitely get the definition when you shingle okay, can i just cornrow my whole hair and Wear clipping wigs yeah, you can do that just be mindful of the clips uh, because the clips can cause damage so just be mindful of the type of clip. So if they're snagging and pulling your hair, you want to make sure that you take the clips out and maybe use um elastic bands or bobby pins or something to secure the wig. But yeah you can do that. That'S fine! Okay, hi bernice, okay, hi! I am a black african american woman who had waist length hair. I used a clarifying shampoo and it locked up my hair into hard rocks and i end up losing my hair and having to cut it. Oh, how in the world did that happen? Oh man. This is what zoom is for, so i can hear those stories, but i'm sorry that happened to you that that's crazy, i'm not sure exactly all that went into that, but that that's something else, i'm sorry! You had to cut your hair and it's nothing wrong with clarifying shampoos. That'S why i'm wondering what happened like if you took down a protective style and didn't comb through it. First, if you had some braids in your hair or something that's been up longer than a month or six weeks or something and you took it down and used clarifying shampoo, because clarifying shampoo can be stripping. If that is the case, then your hair would have locked up, because, whenever you take out protective styles, you've got to comb through the hair and get out all the mats and shedding because, if not you're, going to wind up with a matted mess. Okay, are there any safe products to cover my gray hair, really in actuality? Anything with chemicals is not necessarily safe, but i mean great coverage. Is it's kind of hard because i know you know exactly what i'm talking about whenever you get your gray covered, it seems like two three days later, they start popping. They start popping out um yeah. I feel like just as long as you're, not covering your grade too much that you should be fine with whatever you're using. I tend to like to do rinses to cover braids, because they're gentle on the hair as compared to permanent color. But i i would like for people who who cover their gray to uh stretch it out, and i know it's hard because after about two three weeks, you can start seeing the gray come in. But i've seen people be successful with just covering the gray with those wands you can buy with the the wands with the color on there, where you can just kind of brush it onto your hair to kind of stretch it out a little bit. You brush it onto your parts, but just try to not color hair as much because coloring your hair too much can cause issues. Okay, let's see uh clear, bra, professional, advanced gray solution is a semi-permanent color. That is very gentle and effective. Thank you for that. Thank you, for that. Is it best to trim natural hair in its natural state, or should i blow it out first to see all the split ends? I wear my hair natural most of the time. Okay, i suggest, especially since you wear your hair natural. So the time that you get it blown out at least blown out, you don't have to get it straightened, but get it at least blown out. So you can see the damage, because if you can't see the damage on it, you can't cut the damage. If you can't cut the damage, then the damage is going to split up the shaft further and further and further. I find a lot of times that people were that people that wear natural styles and um uh wash and gos, and things like that on a regular basis and never see the ends of the hair, like the style, will look fantastic because it's a natural style. But once you get the hair straight a lot of times, there's more damage that meets the eye, so you have to go in for a check every so often or either. Do it yourself go dry, your hair, you know for a check every so often make sure that your hair is remaining healthy. Whatever reason um on a lot of people's hair natural styles, don't do too well, but it's a lot of people that bust them out and the hair does well. But you just have to just make sure that you stay on the up and up when it comes to uh keeping up with your trends and stuff, because natural hair can give the illusion of it being healthy when actuality the ends are split and chewed up. I'Ve seen that on so many occasions i cannot even oh boy yeah all right. What can help the growth of edges? Oh um get some of the ors uh temple, wait. Let me type in rs temple, fertilizing, temple, fertilizing, bomb, organic root, stimulator and then jamaican black, castor oil combine those two massage your edges. You know on a regular basis and just you know be sure to not put a lot of things around your edges, especially if you're, if you're wearing wigs or night caps or stuff like that, be mindful of that. Put a silk scarf on instead and just be patient, because and if it, unless there's medical or alopecia, or something like that, your eggs should grow back. If you, if you give them some tlc, just keep them moisturized, but those two products right there should um should help out. Okay, hi tamika, you look beautiful how's devin, doing oh he's doing fantastic devin's doing great uh. He is actually a pastor. Now uh yeah and he's been locked up for two years, so his hair is doing really well too thanks for asking okay, i have tried all sorts of oil and i cannot pronounce that ayurvedic herbs to grow my bald spot in the front of my hair, but It'S not grown, do you know of any other methods that can help me grow my edges and the thing of it is. It depends on why your edges have gone bald. Is it because of years of wearing tight braids, wigs weaves and things like that and you've got gotten into traction alopecia or is it a medical reason postpartum shedding uh hormones? What whatever? The reason is, so you have to kind of boil it down. So if there's traction alopecia more than likely, the hair is not going to be able to grow back because the hair follicle is way too damaged for it to grow back i mean you can try, because you just never know it might be a situation where it Does but if it's because of some other reasons like breakage or you know, postpartum shedding or you know, hormones out of whack or something like that by all music can grow back but just be mindful. Edges are very, very um fragile. We we put stuff on our edges, we wash our edges, we put makeup on, we wash it off. You know a lot of people pull their edges. We wear scarfs around our edges. You know we wear the shower cap, just all types of things we have going on and whenever we wear braids wigs, we use the edges get tied up. So we're doing so. Many things our edges and that's one of the most fragile parts of our head of hair. So we have to treat it with kid glove. We have to make sure that we treat that gently and, as a matter of fact, treat it as a different entity, because if we don't they can wind up suffering so just be gentle to them. Massage your edges use the the um auras fertilizing uh temple bomb uh, try that type of stuff vitamin e, all jamaican black, castor. All those type of things rub it in give yourself like edge massages as much as you can and just see what happens. Take your supplements too, because that could help and drink plenty of water that can help too okay uh, we talked about it again. I don't know i use bobby fence wigs. Okay, that's great bobby pins are great. Now, not just any bobby. Pin, though, get the good bobby pins that that the little um the ball part doesn't just come off, you know you got to get the good one where it has a thick ball part. So when you put it through your hair it'll slide instead of snagging, you don't want the bobby pins to snag, because if it snags it's taking hair out so sally beauty, they have those good good, good, bobby pins they're about 10 bucks for like 300 of them, They last a long time get those okay. Me email me at ask me at your personal haircoach.com and i can send you a link to sign up for consultations if you're interested and it is a fee for that it is a fee for the consultations, but we can get into that a little bit more. Anybody who is interested in you can just email me, and i can hook you up with a link for that. I don't have it on me right now and it would take a bit for me to go. Look for it because it's like like in my browser, but if you're interested you can email me uh, so we can do one-on-one consoles. Okay. What would be the best oils to help moisturize my hair and prevent split ends? Oh okay, i'm a i'm a i'm! A oil lover, i love all types of oils. Now a lot of people they'd be like well oil zone oils, don't moisturize! I beg to differ. If the oil follicle is small enough to penetrate the hair shaft, then it moisturizes your hair, that's science, okay and there's a lot of oils out there that do that. I need to pull my list up. Let me see, i don't have too many notes too many notes. Okay, marula oil is a good one. I'M trying to think of oils that are not the the normal oils that people talk about all the time. That'S one of my favorite ones, uh moringa oil. Let me see sesame oil, sweet almond, oil, jojoba oil, those type of things argon, all those oils um help with hydrating the hair and moisturizing, especially if you're, a straight natural or if you're, relaxed, um oils on your hair is going to be beneficial because you're not Going to put wet products on your hair, if you're straightened out to relax it's going to make it a swell up and revert, and you don't want that: okay, which shampoos and conditioners do you recommend want to start using professional products? Oh okay, if you, if you email me, i can send you a link to my um personal product recommendations. Let me see if i can hold up a second do i have it anywhere where i can give it to you guys, so you can have it. I might have a link hold on hold hold on a second. Let me let me go over to my account. I think i can pull this up really quickly and just because you guys, on the call, i can give you a link to this. I hope i hope that i still have it. Ah, let's see, let me see if this is it? Oh, i don't have it, i don't have it, but guess what the product recommendations i'll have it available at another time in another class. But let me let me answer the question still uh. Where am i at i'm sorry? What shampoos and conditioners do you recommend back in the day i used to recommend joyco, uh, moisture recovery products, but they've changed change them and i really haven't had a chance to to really try a whole bunch of new products, but i do like the matrix so Long damage product line, but i'm hearing that one's hard to find too. It'S like all the things i love people they're starting to not sell as much or discontinue them. But if you, if you go down the line where they sell the professional products and if you look at um the like the front of the bottle and if it says for dry and damaged hair check those out because those products are going to be the ones That are going to be really good for textured hair, okay, okay, how often should i get a trim and how much if my hair is fine, bleach blonde and i use heat every week well. First of all, i recommend that you, especially since your bleach blonde, to lay off the heat, if you can, because the thing is that the heat is causing the hair to be even dry and with you being bleached blonde. That means your hair is in the high porosity range and it's going to need more nutrients, but the heat is not helping at all. If you can lay off the heat, you know and not use that as much, then that would be fantastic, but um with you being bleached on you're. Probably gon na have to trim your hair more often, probably about every eight weeks or so, depending on how your hair is responding to the color, because different people's hair responds to the color differently, because some people they get their hair colored and they can do whatever They want to their hair and it does just fine and they can get it trimmed on their regular schedule and other people get color and it just destroys their hair. So but the heat every week is a no go. If you continue to use heat on your hair every single week, then you're going to want to you're going to have to keep trim your hair more often, probably every month. Unfortunately - and you might start seeing your hair get shorter and shorter and we don't want to um go into that, and i know i know you like color, because bleach blonde is so pretty you know i've even like thought about being blonde before, but my hair just Can'T handle that i'm just being realistic, but it's so pretty, and you know i can understand why you would want it, but just try to if you're going to bleach your hair blonde, try to stay away from the heat. Try to you know, find styles or find ways to straighten your hair or style your hair without using the heat every week. If you can, okay all right, what causes my hair to get split ends on random spots. In my ends, one side of my hair is super heavy, and the other side of my hair is spotting with split ends at the end. Okay, it might be something that you're doing and that you just don't know about it. A lot of times in our hair care, there are things that we do, that that are damaging to our hair, that we don't realize, and so you have to really like stop and think about it. Um so you're just saying one side of your hair. So that means that it could quite possibly be something as simple as that's the side you sleep on. Well, that could be the side that you touch all the time, something like that or or that that could be the side that you manipulate all the time or manipulate more you might comb or brush it more or something like that. Just just really think about what you're doing in your hair care between the c. If it's just something that you can just correct now, um, it could be something very, very simple: yeah: what hair, moisturizer and deep conditioner would you recommend for natural hair uh? Let me because i do the thing is: i do have product recommendations. If you guys go on to my channel, i actually have um a couple of videos in there with product recommendations, but as far as moisturizers are concerned, i love the camille rose products. I love the teaching products. Those are my favorites i do like carol's daughter. I still do use carol's daughter to this day. Um alike. Naturals is a really good product line too she's, not as popular as the rest of them, but her line is really really good and it's tried and true um yeah uh and you can go to target and there's so many lines up there and lately i've been Come i have become an ingredient girl because i understand what ingredients do for the hair now, but before i wasn't and when i'm when i am looking for products, i look for certain ingredients, so ingredients that moisturize the hair, especially like if you're natural, you want something. That'S definitely going to have like water in it. You know, and and good ingredients like butters and oils, and things like that, but um target they have the lineup camille rose's is camille rose, teigen comment, biologics alike. Naturals carol's daughter are like, i would say, my top five products that i like um and deep conditioner. Okay, that's going to be another class. I don't believe that there's a such thing as a deep conditioner deep conditioning is a process not a product. I actually have a video on that on my channel uh yeah, but it's it's pretty much a um propaganda. It'S a spin on marketing, saying that it's deep conditioning, because i'm gon na tell you something. If you call something a deep conditioner, you can charge people more money for it and that's pretty much what that's all about yeah. It might have a little bit extra in it, but a conditioner in a deep conditioner. Pretty much does the same thing so just be mindful that deep conditioning is a process deep conditioning. What you do is you put the conditioner onto your hair, you get it on there and you massage it in really well flip your hair up, put a plastic cap on top of your head and then sit under the dryer for 20 minutes. That'S deep conditioning a deep conditioner is just a conditioner that you use to deep condition your hair with okay - and i know it's gon na - be a lot of people. It'S gon na give me flat for that, but that is my belief hairstyle for 15 years and that's my belief. I never bought deep conditioners. I always deep conditioned hair the process, not the product. Okay, oh you're, welcome carl. What about using grease on the ends of my hair, i need to keep them lubricated if it works girl. Do it there's actually a youtuber that i follow and she swears by greece and i'm more of a if it works, then do it type if your hair likes it? If your hair thrives on it, then do it. You know they say. Grease is bad. Look all them folks back in the days to grease their scalps and shoes. Those people have bigger afros, so hey if grease works for you by all means by all means, i don't have a problem with it yep and it really helps seal in that moisture like if you put it on like moisturized hair it seals that moisture, throw a Bag on top of that you're, good, okay, all righty, no joyco nope, i'm natural to find here and use grapeseed, jojoba and olive oil mixture. It keeps my hair moisturized to my next wash. Those are great oils, good job, good job, the joy code, moisture recovery bomb is amazing. I actually have used that in the past, but i don't remember how well it worked. Yeah joy coat is trash now, what's mom back in the day, yeah, okay, how many times a month can i wash and straighten i use rollers and stretch and then flat iron, my hair and still be healthy. Also, our egg mask healthy to use on a regular basis. No do not use egg masks on a regular basis, because eggs are straight protein and i'm i'm not an advocate of using food on the hair anyway, i just think it's messy. You know. I just think it's messy and and like if you, if you have rinse your hair out into hot water, then them eggs will cook on your head and then you're gon na have scrambled eggs on your head. So you may have already been doing it, but i suggest you just get um conditioner and put it on your hair, but you can get away with twice a month if you're careful, because a lot of straight naturals when i was in the salon and my customers, They would come in every two weeks and get their hair done and their hair thrived. So every two weeks as long as you're, deep conditioning and not cranking a flat iron up to 450, you know and then using heat in between you should be. Okay, don't don't quote me on that, because everybody's hair is different, but from my experience every two weeks my straight naturals came in and their hair thrived so just use that as an example, an egg mask okay. So your eggs, that's protein um! If you're straightening, you're gon na need protein more than a person who's, not straightening your hair, so if you're gon na do, i suggest not the egg mask, do some other type of mask and maybe about every six to eight weeks. Okay, i bought the red bear. After watching your videos, what do you put on the hair before using rev air? I have very fine hair. Thank you, um, just a simple heat protectant, a simple silicone based heat protectant is what i use, and sometimes, depending on how coarse a person's hair is. Maybe a little bit a little teeny bit of leave-in conditioner and this line is discontinued, but the neutrogena triple moisture line had a amazing um leave-in conditioner, but i'm gon na give you a trick here. Don'T don't buy leave-in conditioner? If you don't feel like it, you know, if you don't want to go, spend money on more stuff, just get you some regular conditioner and dilute it with some water. You know and take a little bit a teeny amount and put it onto your hair, it'll soften it up nice, and then you know, put your heat protectant on. After that, your hair will be nice, the rev air. I know a lot of people complain about the hair feeling a little bit um more coarse and the more like straw, but you can combat that with the um, with the uh leave-in conditioner and the heat protectant and with the new revere as well. I find that using uh the red air on the speed seven in high speed. That'S what i use, because a lot of people were like. Oh, i don't get it like that. But well i have practice tubes. I'Ve done hundreds of people with the rev air, but um the hot, the the highest setting you can get for your hair would be the setting that you need to use because and another thing too, with the river people they pump. You don't pump back and forth with the red air, you hold it there and let the the flow of the dryer. You know suck the hair in and dry the hair. That way, if you pump then you're, i don't know you're missing out on something something's, not right there. If you pump the rubber so don't pump, but use your leave-in and use your um silicone heat protectant and your hair should soften up and be nice and straight straightened. Straighter, okay, but yeah. The red bear is amazing. I'M so glad i was able to get one of the new ones. Thank you rev air, for sending me that amazing dryer, okay, i love it. I have high frosty hair. I'M anemic, and my high just seems to not in my high just seems to not get long it's thick, but it will not get past my shoulders. Can you please recommend products to use high frosty hair tends to be a little tricky because it seems like you know you put stuff on there and it's just always thirsty. You know so. You'Re gon na have to use things that are heavier on your hair, like butters, and things like that to seal in the moisture, because yeah high pricey hair just takes a little bit more work um, if you're not doing them already do steam or hydration treatments. That should help some too okay and uh just make sure you're trimming your air, your your um ends regularly. It says that uh get past your shoulders, your hair, when you pass your shoulders, it's something there! That'S going on a lot of times. People'S hair doesn't get past their shoulders. It'S like that threshold a lot of times. If you go into protective styles, it helps too, but a lot of times. Fine hair doesn't do as well and protective styles, but if you can get your hair up and off your shoulders and not rubbing them against that, then that should help too and just make sure that you're coating and moisturizing the ends of your hair on a regular Basis if you're anemic, more than likely you're having issues with your hair, shedding because a lot of times iron deficiency will cause hair shedding, so just make sure that you're getting your iron levels where they need to be, and that should help you also with um. Your hair struggles, because when i was anemic i was losing hair like in balls and a lot of people. They complain about that too. Their hair is not the same. Just make sure that you're getting plenty of water and getting your iron supplements in and make sure you're eating foods that are full of the things that you need: um foods that are full of iron. I know spinach is one of them and like red meat and stuff, but you might be vegetarian, i don't know but yeah, okay. I noticed a lot of natural products, don't moisturize the hair for too long honestly, uh grease really gets the job done if grease works by all means. Do it? Okay, all right, so we already answered that grease. Crease, grease, yeah girl. I used grease on my hair. Not too long ago, because i did a um, a pressing curl in my hair - nothing wrong with that. I have some grease in my stash now. How can i wash my weave effectively in the shower, make sure you take sections too? I actually have a video on washing weave, okay, i have a video on watching weave on youtube and let me see if i can pull it up really quickly for you. Let me get my studio, because this is the way i used to do it in a salon. Actually, i actually have several videos on like. Can i post a link there? Oh no, it's gon na. Let me go to the video. Let me do this. I want to put the link because i just pulled it up - i'm going to put the link here, so you can go watch that video on shampoo and the weave it's it's shampoo and weave is a lengthy process. In my opinion, you got to make sure you get those braids dry underneath, so your hair won't mildew, but i explained all that in the video it's an old video, but it's it's really like detailed. Okay, it's extremely a younger young young strongest ago yeah, oh yeah, the um. The joy coat is very thick. You have to use that sparingly. Oh ors, hair mayonnaise has changed. Their ingredients literally broke the ends of my hair off. I was like never mind. I had to make my own i'm sorry to hear that i do condition with oils made a huge difference and that's the thing doing. What'S best for your hair, and - and i can tell you all that i want to - but you know your hair better than anybody and there's nothing wrong with experimenting somewhat. You know you can use oils. Um honey is good too. Honey is a good humectant. If you throw that into conditioner, it will soften the mess out of your hair and just make it like butter. Really, okay, can you wrap air weekly? I wouldn't recommend rev airing weekly, because even though rev air is a more gentle heating implement, you can still run its damage. If you use it too often, so i would recommend it no more than every two weeks yeah yeah, because it is still a blow dryer. Even though it's a gent more gentle blow dryer, it's cooler, you know i would still steer clear the weekly unless, unless you have that that that solid hair that don't get damaged easily or whatever i don't recommend using any heat element weekly, including the rubber, but the Red bear is a bomb. I love my rev air y'all if you've ordered it. If you have ordered the rev air, when you get it you're going to be able to literally lift it up with one hand, no more having to do like you know a workout before i do use my rev air. I love it. It'S so light. It'S so light, and it's quieter too. I actually have a video coming out soon. I i might put it up on thursday and it's me doing an unboxing of the rev air and the reason why i put that video out. First, the one with me showing the results is because um rev air they wanted a video where i was showing you know the results, but i have an unboxing video and i'm like comparing both the models and i'm also letting you hear the noise in the red Beer and stuff so y'all look out for that video, okay about the protective styles again. Do i keep my hair in braids for weeks or do i take it out once a week and comb it and then re-braid again, someone said yes, i do that. No, when you're in a protective style, the trick is to keep your hair in the protective style as long as possible. Generally about six to eight weeks, if you're taking hair down every week and redoing it, then that's manipulating your hair too much. So if you're going to a wig, get it braided up and then wear that wig for six to eight weeks and then you take it down, don't don't braid your hair wear the braids a week, take it down and re-braid it no keep the braids in it's. It'S just fine. This is exactly what i did when i was doing healthy, hair makeovers in the salon. The customers would keep their hair tied over six to eight weeks in the in the style, and they would come in. Excuse me every two weeks to get it.
