Easy Heatless Overnight Ponytail Curls - Adventures In Heatless Hairstyle With Cayla Ep. 1

I have been experimenting with heatless hairstyles for just over a month and FINALLY gathered the courage to film and post one of them. I am 100% not a pro. Each style is an experiment. Come along on the journey with me.

Hello welcome to heatless hairstyles with Kayla. I am Kayla. I hope nobody has used that title before okay. So let me tell you what this is all about. This is gon na, be my first video, maybe in a series, maybe not in a series. Sometimes I get ideas and then I just don't follow through with them. Let me give some context actually. First one I'm pregnant, and I know that in about three months, I'm not really gon na have time to deal with all of my hair. I don't know what my natural hair texture is. I have been frying my hair for decades, so I'm on a little bit of a mission to discover what my natural hair consistency is. Consistency. Texture see, I don't even know how to talk about it. So I'd known, definitely not a pro. I got pregnant hair texture also. I just wanted to not use heat for a while, it's winter here as well, and it's almost spring huh, but it is winter here like winter and my hair was feeling like straw. So it's my skin, oh my goodness. I need some lotion, that's better feel human and not crack the oil. So I have been experimenting with different heatless hairstyles for three weeks four weeks: I've lost track of time and I've been sharing those hair experiments first on Instagram, and then I stumbled my way into tick-tock and I've been sharing them there, but a lot of the people That I know personally, they don't use to talk. So all of that has come full circle to me being back here on YouTube, where once upon a time, little me used to make hair tutorials. No, you will not find them on this channel. They are buried deep down and maybe will resurface one day but probably not there's a couple things that I consider when I'm making these videos. I need to be comfortable hello person walking by my house. Don'T look, don't look, don't look, don't look. Yes. I need to be comfortable when I'm sleeping pregnant have to sleep on my side, so that means I can't have anything obstructing me here. Otherwise, what's already a difficult sleep, it's going to be even more difficult. We don't need that. Another thing I'm trying to consider is ease of access - I'm not trying to necessarily use things that you have to go out of your way to buy or that aren't readily available. So I'm using things like leggings and tights, and all sorts of things like that. Just household things I just happen to have to try to achieve this, I'm used to trying to jam all of my information into minute long videos. So it's sort of longer format. It'S gon na take some getting used to definitely not a problem before we get into the footage of the experiment and revealing if it worked or not. I want to talk about what I used last night, so last night, hi last night, I cut up a pair of old like leggings, basically not like Lululemon leggings, like three more like just the jersey, like t-shirt material leggings, the kind that you wear when you're a Kid and then you still like to wear when you're an adult, because they're comfy just cut them out. That'S what would you say that is like 300, like 4 inch strips and then I took an elastic remember, do you know how to do this? Did you learn how to do this as a kid and think you were a genius, take your elastic and you just so that I can secure this around my ponytail and then wrap my hair around this literally old leggings and hair elastic okay. So we're gon na go back inside mmm, don't last night when I begin the experiment fast-forward to this morning, when we see if the experiment worked and then we'll do a reveal here. Okay, let's just go okay, so the first thing I did was divide my hair in half and then pigtails boom, so cute, then I took my little contraption secure it around one pigtail and then I sprayed with water after I divided the pigtail and yeah. It'S important to use water, if you don't. This probably won't work at all. Just saying I wrapped my hair super tight around one strand of the fabric. I guess one half and then once I finished that I proceeded to wrap it around the base of the ponytail. We'Re gon na sleep with like a base bunch situation tonight, I'm repeating the process. Why did I forget that word, I'm repeating the process on the other half of that ponytail with the other piece of fabric. Don'T forget the water as well, then I'm just gon na clip it up out of the way and repeat on the other side. I keep going between past and present ends here, but basically, once I finished both sides, I went to sleep fast-forward to this morning. I took the clips out, Oh a feather, that looks good so far and then I proceeded to unravel my hair and Wow. This is way bouncier and I anticipated I did try this a couple days ago, but I did it with soaking wet hair and it just didn't dry, so the effect was kind of different you'll notice. I was pulling on the strands of fabric. It helps loosen up the hair a little bit whoo. Look at that. I take the pigtails out: Oh braids, a bit of shine spray, hair and redefined some of the little curls that were coming out and then I don't really dig the middle part on myself. So I adjusted and wow I switched to my phone, the way of who's recording on my camera. I couldn't see what I was doing and it was stressing me out. That'S all she wrote folks, it's gotten a little frizzy. I don't use mousse or gel or anything when I do these for the most part, because I don't want kind of those sort of factor like what am I trying to say. I want to know what it's going to look like without the product. First, as a baseline and then once I have that baseline, then I can proceed to try and introduce other things a little bit at a time a little bit at a time. It'S very hard for me because I get impatient now I just want to do everything all at once, but I would say that this was a success like it's frizzed out a bit like, I said no product used, except for those trying spray, but I would say That this was a this was a guest, I'm definitely gon na do this again, I don't think it's like an everyday look honey, but I will be using it again what I want just like yeah when I want curls like this, I'm pretty I'm happy. I'M pretty happy okay! Well, thanks for watching, if you made it this far, hopefully there will be another video. Hopefully I don't get sidetracked with some other project and start something else brand new. Hopefully there will be another video and it will be better. If, then, this one, but you know what you got ta start somewhere right thanks, bye,

Jonathan Barrett: I’m going to try this later!!
