When doing a haircut, you want to make sure that the hair is evenly damp or evenly dry. You want to start by parting it down the middle. Take the brush lay it on the top of the head. Where you see the head start to pull away from the brush, that's where you want to part down by the ears when you park down the head, your parting should land where it in the middle of your thumb, when you stick your thumb beside the clients ear Brush the hair and wet it down again, pull it all down to a straight line at the bottom start in the middle cut in the middle first at the desired length and then work your way out to the sides. This helps you not end up with a slanted haircut at the end, you once you cut everything, go ahead and check it, pull it together and then move on to the side. I like to part it down the middle in the back and then pull it to the side and then use the back as a guide to cut the front and once again, you're pulling it straight down. You'Re going to repeat this on the other side after you've done this, this can be the end of your haircut. You don't have to add layers like I said this can be the end of your haircut. You don't have to add layers, but if you want to we'll show you what to do next, you'll take a section from the top in the middle of the head and, however, short you cut, this will determine how short your layers are. You don't want to go too short, but just take a few inches off and this will become your guide. Take sections going down the side of the head and use that first section you cut and just match it up. You'Ll go down the side of the head until you stop seeing hair pop up over your guide. Once you stop seeing hair pop up over your guide, you'll move on to the back section and repeat it all the way down until the same thing happens in the back and then once you've done the back. You move on to the other side and that's how you do a long, layered haircut, and this is the hair after it's been blow-dried and curled.
