Falicia is relaxed and if she does go natural, will her hair grow longer and faster without a relaxer because her hair is always thin from relaxers.

The question always asked is "Can black people grow long hair?" and the answer is simply yes but it takes a combination of hair care methods and products to achieve this!

You can grow long relaxed hair and long natural hair by implementing the proper hair care techniques and hair care products to achieve healthy thriving hair. This is the secret to growing black hair long because the more you complicate your hair care practices, the more difficult and tedious the process becomes when all you want to do is grow long hair. Hair Tip #2 For Thick Healthy Relaxed Hair, Consult with a Licensed Cosmetologist

To properly care for and treat your hair with a chemical relaxer, I highly suggest that you seek this service from a licensed stylist. This is not to say that you are incapable of relaxing your own hair at home because many individuals do their own relaxers, but since this does involve the application of a highly corrosive chemical, please leave this in the hands of a licensed professional. If you treat your hair with a relaxer on your own, do what is best for you as an individual.

Hello, everyone - this is Breanna Rutter, author of one of my most popular books, the natural hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com. For this video on wants me as an email that I received from Felicia, Felicia emailed me because she says she wants to go natural. But the thing is is that she wants to know: will her hair grow faster and longer with the natural or with it being relaxed? She already has relaxed hair, but her problem is that she doesn't like the way that it looks and appears very thin and also she has issues with little bit of breakage and things like that as well. So what she wants to know is which one will be best. So what I am going to do is give you some suggestions and point you into the direction of for what will be best for you, so that you can reach your length goals and things of that sort. So my very first tip is that, for my very first suggestion is that on no matter, if you have relaxed hair were natural hair, you have to implement proper haircare habit tools, products to make sure that the hair ultimately thrives. So if your hair is relaxed, you have to be doing your protein treatments. You have to be deep conditioning. You got to make sure you're not using too much heat for you not using heat. Too often you got to make sure you are keeping up with your trims and then, if you have natural hair, got to make sure your deep conditioning enough. You have to implement some co washing some protective styling for length retention and making sure that your ends are trimmed e as well. So I mean is that both have their own set of requirements and now specific things to do to make sure that the hair has a tendency to thrive at its best potential so depending on which one your hair can grow as well as which want to. If you're implementing key elements to doing so now, my second tip is that if you want to your hair along with it being relaxed, I suggest that you consult with a professional in your area to assist you now, if you've already been relaxing your hair on your Own and you don’t need anybody's help. Me know you can continue to do what's best for, but if you want to make sure that your hair is receiving on proper care to make sure that on someone is there to actually point out any issues or see any roadblocks along the way. That could potentially happen with your hair. I suggest that you consult with a professional, so what I would like for you to do is ask a couple of your friends who actually have relaxed hair to go to. Stylist is more just look up salons in your area. On Internet to figure out was the best course, for you was the best salon. You should go to one the best stylist you should work with, especially when you're dealing with chemicals on your hair, because the worst thing that can happen is that you can suffer from baldness or hair loss or anything of the sort. Because of how irritable this chemical can be, and now my last tip is, if you are going natural now, you don't have to go to a stylist if you don't want to, but if you're not sure about what to actually do with your hair, you don't really Know which direction to go, then I suggest that you go seek a professional and if you would rather be a do-it-yourself, is a lot safer with the route of natural hair, because you don’t need any chemicals to maintain the look of your hair. So in that case, if you rather do it yourself, you can feel free to do that. You can experiment with different products. You can go ahead and do the big chop or transition whatever your hearts desires. Are you just going to make sure that you are educating yourself about what it takes to have healthy natural hair and a great place to start? Of course, if you would like more information, is my book, the natural hair Bible? I take you step-by-step as far as what to do with your hair, whether or not you should big chop or not what kind of products to use, and I even give you home a recipes, so you don't have to go out and look for all the ingredients In different the hair care products, so the beauty about that is that you can leave all the palm your hands and go with your hair, how you choose and desire so to question they both can grow long hair. You just got implement the proper tools, products and hair care, regimens inhabits to make either or thrive. Thank you for your email and also thank you all for watching it. Any of you out before any of you go make sure to sign up, for my email is so that way you can be automatically entered for in the giveaways that I do and also only their you can receive exclusive content. Johsai: This summer I kept my hair in a sew in for two months & the growth was amazing. Keeping your hands out of your hair is one of the best ways to allow your hair to grow. Protective styles are your best friends!

Angelica Flowers: Hey Breanna ! First off I want to start off saying that I adore your videos and they are very informative ! I have a question that I would love for you to answer . I am a 19 year old college student who has been natural my whole life. Two months ago I decided to straighten my hair. I failed to use any heat protectants or anything of that nature. After two weeks of having my hair straightened I wanted my natural hair back. As I tried washing my hair back to it's natural state it didn't revert but my hair is still very thick. Other than chopping off my dead ends, is there any way to get my curls back ? (E.g. any carols daughter products or protein treatments etc..) your reccomendations would be greatly appreciated) !

Theresa McKinney: I've gone natural a couple of times now and this time I know it will be a permanent thing to me. My issue now is that I used to have really loose curls when I was younger and my hair was down to the middle of my back, my mom put a jheri curl in my hair when I was about 9. I wore the curl until I was about 17. The curl completely changed my hair texture and now it's dry and course. On top of that I live in Colorado and the air here is extremely dry. I've tried almost everything to keep the moisture in my hair. Are there any products you can recommend that will help me retain moisture in such a dry climate?

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: These are some great tips on how to keep a healthy scalp because that's what it all boils down to keeping your scalp healthy whether you are relaxed or natural I have been relaxed for the past 10 years now and my scalp is healthy my daughter does my relaxers and I put my relaxers in every 10 weeks in the summertime and also in the winter time I go 16 weeks I use a moisturizer for my scalp and hair and I also use grapeseed oil for my scalp and hair I don't use a lot of products I use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner I also co wash 1 week and wash the next I use a protein once a month and that's pretty much it I do deep conditioning as well and about trimming I do not trim my ends because to me that doesn't make sense to trim your ends to grow your hair I trim my ends once a year and that is a round my birthday so my hair is pretty much 36 inches , but these are some great tips that you are giving these ladies but it is all about maintaining your natural or relaxed hair from the scalp if you have a healthy scalp your hair will grow and keeping your ends moisturized and that way you won't have to trim them now this works for me thank you

Ace tace: In other videos, they say you would need to trim your damaged ends if you want hair growth, but I'm scared that it'll make mine even shorter. But, at the same time, I also know I can't avoid that tip.

Antoinette 70: My hair grows faster when there is no relaxer in it. Relaxers dry my hair and scalp out. I like medium braids, big braids , and natural styles.

ComiCat: I wash my hair every week and cowash maybe every 2-3 days, keeping it moisturized. Sometimes I wear a twist out because it's super cute and sometimes I twist it up like in my profile picture. It's much longer than that now, that was last year and I trimmed my hair in september. Before you get long hair, remember that it's heavy lol but I love it!!

Karson: Good professional video. Thank you for the tips

Nnenna A.: Thank you, the bit about relaxed hair is so helpful!

catiewesty: I dont understand you dont have a million followers and then some.Your videos are so professional, great quality and well put together.

Chelcie Rhodes: Luv ur info sweetie I relax my hair every 3-4 months. I keep my hair crocheted. I do my rice water every 6-7 weeks. That's how long I wear my style b4 I get it redone. My hair is long pretty & nappy when I dont perm it lol but I luv it tho.

Denise R: Thank you for the video it was very helpful. But I was wondering what would be your best advice for me I have been natural for about 3year now, But I have alot of heat damage I am trying to bring back my curl what would be the best suggestions

Patty Brown: thank you doll.. your awesome and very helpful

MZ SISTA: Thank you sis for the video information, what about a person that has thin hair and in the 60's ? what would be the best routine if the are natural already and deal with Alopecia in some areas ?? any advice would be helpful,, I have a hard time with shampoos they break me out with bumps and itching on my scalp, I have been doing water only wash for now not any bumps unless i put oil which has my scalp inflamed and itching,,Help!!

Toni’s World: so i came to a winter country and how i have split ends, and it began to bread and it went from long to short. what products do i need to buy for it to get back strong and long ? and healthy? +BreannaRutter

Raevonna Johnson: This was so helpful

Stephanie's Otaku Life : I need help with my hair (I’m mix *half black & white); 1. I have short curly (that has the wave nouveau treatment, but because of quarantine I haven’t gotten the chance to get it redone) 2. Hair is falling out like every day (I already have hair almost to the scalp in three places *two in the front and a large spot in the back* not sure how to fix this!!) 3. My hair is absolutely dry and I can’t go without at least wetting it and putting a little conditioner in it to make it even doable... ) 4. My hair takes FOREVER to grow that it doesn’t seem to at all (plus all the breakage) 5. I’ve tried protective styles; Brazilian blowout, two different extensions (braids and sow in), deep conditioning, tried to cover it at night (which is impossible cause I’m such a crazy sleeper that it just comes off) 6. I can’t really brush or comb my hair cause it will either fall out or become frizzy See why I don’t know what to do to make it grow fast?! NOTHING I DO WORKS!!

Donna Gambrell: Thank You For Your Honestly! God Bless You

Marabou Royale: Love the light everyday makeup looks tutorials please

N N: If you relax your hair it will be susceptible breakage. Don't relax it. Relaxing it means damaging it.

Chauna Sumpter: Your videos are so well-lit, and the sound quality is so good.  Do you use a production company or any tips would be great.  Thanks for your expertise.

Kayla Lattimore: Hey, I recently got my hair braided and the stylist detangled my hair dry and blow dried it dry leading to moderate breakage and heat damage to my hair. (I immediately took the braids out after 2 weeks) I've been using Shea Moisture masque deep condition weekly and and using castor oil to help with the thinning. My hair is very thick 4c hair. Do you thick I'll be able to regain the hair I lost? It was quite a lot of hair lost after the blow. I knew it will take a few months to see any difference I'm just afraid I've done irreversible damage. Thanks!

ryan zachery: Hair growth has to do with genetics and genetics only nothing will make you hair grow faster see in my case I'm a African American but I also have Native American and Caucasian blood so my hair grows pretty fast.Things can PROMOTE hair growth not speed it.When you use natural products on natural on natural hair it will be healthy.

creating1_c1999: Hair is stronger when it can utilize the internal and external nutrients.

ραsтεl.sтερρн: I've never heaten my hair before but I have relaxed hair but my hair is so fridging short and i've been trying to grow it but it always stays the same height!!!!

Anneline Lubbe: Thank you will def give it a try.

Shanika Beard: Love the info! Im off the subject but what kid of foundation do you have on! Your skin is flawless

Lasalle Chander: if you use a coffe oil flour mask on your hair it takes five days to split mend wash oil and press no relaxer need because the coffe has those chemicals u should use sunflower oil or grapeseed oil white flour and make sure you have stylist that like to grow hair u can also use this for eyebrows and lashes or you can do beauty store extentions thats a surprise for my mom would had cancer twice i think shell like and shes pretty to me and my hero too

Ajahlaaaa: Do you have any advice for coloring and bleaching 4c hair? I really want some color but I don't want to dry my hair out and I hate hair chalk and the mess it creates when styling.

Katrina Battles: Breanna I want to ask you why my hair is getting matted during my wash?

Danielle Maroney: I have pretty much given up on my hair, it's short, uneven, nappy, and I have breakage from hair relaxers. I see very little hope for my hair.

Kaylaisalwaysright: well I have long hair and so does my family but my little sis has issues. my whole family has the the same hair type. we curly hip length hair. but my little sis has very dry very short and very frizzy hair. everyday more and more of her hair cones out. earlier yesterday my my family decided we should apply oil to her hair. what oil do u suggest we use??

Betty THOMAS: I have a big bald spot and sores in my head what can I do to help my hair grow back. Also my hair is dry and brittle.

Fraisame G: My hair seems to be sucking up all the leave in condition and oils that I put in it the next day it's dry. I have some new growth from my relaxer I basically take care of my own hair what would be a good growth routine and treatments to get back the moisture in my hair?

Nubian Gold: @Anneline sorry if spelt wrong.....Aloe vera is brilliant mixed with egg whites, or you can use banana and advocado. but using aloe vera leafs really works my auntie used to use it on my cousin's hair as it weren't growing because of the enzema. her hair grew very long may be do it twice a month as a deep condition rub the scalp with it and leave it for an hour but oftenly scrubbing the scalp. try see if it works.

Tmarie2u: Monistat. That one bothers me on SO many levels!! (rant coming :) We as black women are more prone to fungal scalp infections anyway. Also there is the rise of antibiotic resistant infections. In fact everybody's worried about ebola when what you SHOULD be worried about is a Urinary tract infection. Because there is a very resistant germ out there & 5 antibiotic's later 30, 40, year old people are DEAD. Over 40,000 a Year from resistant strains of NORMAL "I'll pop over to the Doc and be better in a week Infections"!! This is the world we Live in! So your taking a MEDICATION & using it when you are NOT SICK!!! The problem with that is the same problems with the overuse of ALL Medications. You run the risk of them becoming ineffective because germs exposed to them die EXCEPT One. And this one now has the powers of superman & Nothing will kill him that will not also KILL YOU in the process. So back to we are more prone to fungal infections anyway right? So lets say Someone wants there hair to grow & uses it BUT doesn't Know they have a Fungal scalp infection. They use Monistat 7 on their head for 5 days & then life happens & they stop. So this isn't specifically for a scalp infection however it did some damage & started killing those fungi!! But they stopped at day 5. And one of the classic ways to build a Superman Germ is to Almost kill him. Day 6, oh he feels bad But by day 12 it's clear he will live. And now NOTHING like Monistat Will ever work on him again. And his offspring because on day 13 he met Mrs.Right & Now he's the proud father of 1,000  Resistant little germs. And they got to eat which might explain why our Natural start's noticing a bald spot a sometime later. "Really? What are the odds? And how come we don't hear about?" 40,000 people in america. And skin infections DO KILL PEOPLE. There part of that 40,000. And NO one is making New antibiotic's .And if you heard about it hmm something would have to be done about it soooo "Don't Miss the BOGO SALE :D!!!!" They don't even want to make the Medication they Know will work for Ebola (at least while it was over in Africa)! How high on the list do you think a Resistant Fungal Scalp Infection that primarily affects Black women will be???
