Should you use coconut oil overnight? https://jandevrieshealth.co.uk/beauty-...

This is my hair. After severe damage caused by long exposure to chlorinated and salted waters, hair so dry feels like a bird's nest. This is coconut oil considered one of the most powerful hair rehabilitators for over 4 000 years. I'M gon na use it on my hair for one week to see if i could bring it back to life. What the heck just happened to my hair to begin: let's detangle our hair, to make application easier and avoid further damage. So the way you would want to apply this is from scalp all the way down to the tips. I'M a little concerned about coconut oil, clogging my scalp, so i'm applying it about three inches below the scalp. You can apply this coconut oil with an applicator or, like me, with my hands. Do you kiss your hair too, because removing this oil requires shampooing do not apply it daily shampooing. Our hair daily may cause severe hair damage. Instead, experts advise us to apply these kinds of oil. Hair masks maximum three times per week, and that's what i'll do this? Is it i'm done i'm going overnight with it and we'll see what happens tomorrow good morning. Welcome. You know that the issue of using oils in your hair is removing it. You probably need shampooing and not just once, but a couple of times, which is just not great for your hair. I did a little research and found erica sager and she has this hack where most of the times she removes the oil entirely with just a single shampooing session. So i'm obviously gon na test it erica's heck, consists of applying any conditioner. You don't mind using a lot of before washing your hair, spread it well all over from top to bottom, once you're done fully rinse off the conditioner, follow it up with shampoo, and if you want, you can add more conditioner at the end, just like you normally Would erica's hat wasn't perfect, but it actually helped a lot. You cannotice some oily spots, especially if you go deeper, but in the areas where i really put on the conditioner my hair is clean. I honestly don't think i gave erica's hackathe a chance. I think it was a little too cheap with the conditioner so yeah i got ta try this again on the other side of the story. Well, look at my hair. I am able to see an increasing shine. What do you think? Oh, it's feeling like hair again and not like a rope which is so amazing. Today we are doing this for the second time. Ah smells like heaven seagulls, i'm testing a different application approach, i'm going to try to use the same amount of coconut oil. I used before, but i'm going to pour it into this bigger bowl, so my lazy technique consists of dipping my hair and squeeze some of what the tips have on top of the other hair, and you have to be very gentle. This is easily 10 times faster than applying it by hand or applicator, i'm not noticing as much hair shedding as i did with my by hand, application there's two little hair strands in there, hi carlos, so you're gon na put a little bit of oil. Put some come here in today's episode of hair rehab. My client wants to rehabilitate his curls you're done you're gon na drink it yeah. It'S done! He'S gon na use, coconut oil the same way, i'm using it and we'll get back to his curls later. I'M testing erica's hack again, but this time i'm dividing my hair in smaller sections and applying a good amount of conditioner not being cheap anymore. Let'S hope it works this time. Erika'S hack, worked. Hair strands are clean anywhere. There is no oil, which is amazing, because i shampoo my hair once you realize how much damage we're saving our hair from. Thank you ericom. You saved the day for how many of us i don't know how many is gon na watch. This video three people - three billion yes bear preach, preach 3 billion now in terms of coconut oil. My hair is so soft and girl. It is silky. Coconut oil so far is the only ingredient that has helped me with frizz extremely, even though i live in a highly humid place and it's humid every day, there's no breaks, and so i'm always walking around with this puffy frizzy hair and coconut oil. It'S just like. I don't know the meaning of frizz, i feel like easy, breezy, coconut girl. This brings us to a fun fact about coconut oil. Although coconut oil is great for most hair types, do you know that it could be really bad for yours? That is, if you have hair, that is coarse, dry and brittle, which is exactly my hair type, because these hair types usually have plenty of proteins in them. When coconut oil provides even more proteins, it can generate protein overload, which makes your hair even more coarse, dry and fragile. But that's nettle, coconut oil's ability to penetrate your hair and make it moisture resistant, can block much needed, moisture and nourishment from helping your hair, which makes it even drier brittle, more fragile, just a mess. In fact, the oil's moisture resistance is probably what's taking care of. My frizz, but even if coconut oil is able to help me during this experiment, it really wouldn't be a good idea to continue its use on long-term basis, because sooner or later, the protein overload and the moisture resistance properties will catch up and cause chaos. This fun fact was brought to you by our research department. Today is the third application. First, let me show you a before and after of my hair, after being combed notice, the massive difference in puffiness and frizz. I just tame my hair with a braid so that you and i can better see those changes in appearance, even though my hair feels softer and it's flowy by that third application. I noticed that my tips are beginning to look dry and brittle, and i'm assuming these are the signs of the beginning of protein overload. On the contrary, my husband's curls got more definition, much less frizz and they are super super soft and i'm seriously jealous coconut oil gets a good hair day stamp. Thank you so much for bringing this ingredient to my attention. If you haven't joined the tribe subscribe today and hit the notifications bell so that you don't miss future episodes like this, one, don't forget to try something healthy today and i'll see you on the next one.

Brenda Blanco: Hey Love!! I NEED YOUR HELP. My family and I have turned this and other videos into fundraisers for India. You may already know that India is going through very tough times because of the pandemic. They need us. They need us so much today. I'd like to humbly ask you to please consider making a donation through the fundraising link in this video – it's above, on the video. Donations go 100% to Unicef, which is helping by providing much needed resources for our women, men and children of India. Please... any help is help. God bless you and thank you! _____________ Girl, I love you like I luv seagulls… with my entire soul Remember to use good quality coconut oil. Suggestions and advice in the description. VIDEO FAQS: Should you warm up the oil? Experts say that it makes no difference to warm it up in your hands or a pot when it comes to opening up the hair follicles. However, if the coconut oil is cold and hard, you should warm it up in your hands or in a bain marie to liquify the oil to make application easier. Why did you skip your scalp? Coconut oil is known for clogging pores and being a little mean to sensitive scalps like mine. However, it is not bad for all scalps. For some people, it can help relieve itchiness and dryness and even get rid of dandruff – or it can create ALL of those issues if your scalp is like mine. So, test it out slowly – definitely skip overnight oiling if you don’t know how your scalp reacts. CORRECTION: coconut oil does not have protein but it is debated as to whether it acts or not as a protein. (It does have a protein overload effect for some people, myself included – and that's where the debate begins.) Erica’s hack has an extra step for fixing hair that still holds oil. But if you’d like to know, check out her awesome video! https://youtu.be/gg09C8I2CQs

Jessy fernandes: In India coconut oil is most common ..we have grown applying it to our hair .... But i stopped it now as i have oily skin n my dermatologist told me to

Debs Germaine: A hack to remove all the oil in a single shampoo is to dilute the shampoo down until it is really runny, and apply that to the hair BEFORE you get any water on the hair, then rinse. I’ve done it like that loads of times!

Afia Ali: I'm from a country where ppl belive coconut oil is the solution for all hair problems. But personally I feel olive oil helped me to get rid of the frizzy hair, you can give it a try Brenda❤

Samira Mallick: I've been using coconut oil since ages.I guess for us Indians it is something of the staple kind for our hair. Although I've started using the cold pressed extra virgin version of it a short time back, I can see huge improvement in hair quality on me and my mom's hair as we have very dry and frizzy hair. Our hair texture has improved immensely giving it a more defined, smooth and shiny look. Well Brenda the effort you put in your videos is always appreciable.❤

Not Techy Tutorials: You're literally the only channel I have watched that mentioned the damaging effects of shampoo, as well you have also mentioned that coconul oil is not for all hair types. Most channels give the impression that coconut oil is the saving grace for hair.

Vee Zhang: My grandmother applied this on her scalp to strengthen the roots and to stimulate hair growth. She has been using this technique since 1938 and she still have a very voluminous hair up to now.

Geetha Nalluri: During my childhood my mom used to apply hair oil on my hair daily and I used to go to school daily with those two oily braids and I used to do hair wash once in a week untill I'm 15 years old.. This was the routine to almost every child back here in India.. At least south India I would say... And trust me my hair was tooo long untill I started to take care of my hair

H0NEYMOURN: Coconut oil does not have any protein in it, it’s a lipid... it can mimic protein overload though and it helps hair to retain the protein that it already has.

ss: I usually apply coconut oil to my scalp and massage my scalp well. It helps with circulation. I leave it on for a few hours or overnight, and then use shampoo(the way to get it out is to lather the shampoo well and really massage the scalp well).Good stuff. Edit: also, doing this once every week is enough.

Pinkey Sherbet: I’m a big fan of jojoba oil. I use it on my ends and it really helps with moisture and giving my very fine hair some resilience. It also helps keep it detangled for longer!

dReaMcAtChER: As an Indian myself from kerala South India, we use coconut oil daily before or after bath or as a hair serum and hair is very soft silky and nourished

Angeline Miape: I dont kiss my hair.....I TALK TO IT i say, "GIRL, YOU BETTER GROW!" hahahaha

CieloSkin: Love the video Brenda, thank you!! I agree, coconut oil does not have protein but experts state that coconut oil has a high affinity for hair proteins...so you were on the right path girl!

Lizalin Nayak: In my country India we use coconut oil for absulutely every hair issue so as a coconut oil user i can say that it's nice to use it but don't use it regularly because it can cause stickyness

Charukeshi: Girl if you think getting coconut oil out of your hair is a nightmare, try mustard oil. As an Indian woman I’ve grown with these two oils religiously finding place in my head. Atleast three generation before me have followed the same path. The regular use of these oils not only helped our hair get better, but also resilient to a lot of external factors. Much love from India!

BB Beauty: Me as an Indonesian, love to use coconut oil as a hair care routine from day to day basis. Trust me, your hair will be silky smooth, shine, soft, bouncy. You don't have to exactly sleep with oily coconut hair though. Just apply 30 min - 1 hour before washing up your hair. It's all natural yet giving the best result from any other brands out there. You should try too. Good luck

T S: Brenda have you tried using Amla oil on your hair? If you haven't, give it a try :) Amla is also very good to ingest, but in an edible form than the oil for the hair of course :)

4EVR BKLYN: Pure coconut hair is the best thing for your hair. Being Indian my mom would always put coconut oil in our hair every time before we took a bath. It helped my hair grow and kept it strong, thick and shiny. My hair was always smooth and silky. It totally helped my hair growth. Definitely good for your scalp as well

D'ara: I think you should lightly warm the coconut oil. This way it's easier to apply it/ massage onto scalp and it doesn't feel "heavy". You will also need to use a lesser amount this way (at least that's what I've experienced hehe). Adding a few drops of lime juice also helps to give thay extra shine!

hehe: You have to try mustard oil! It's one of those oils we've use here in india/pakistan for years and it has great results. For me personally the oil helped me with frizz and defining my curls. Hope you try it...

Mr. Chloé: You absolutely need to massage coconut oil into your scalp as well. It’s main role is to nourish the scalp and help in hair growth. The oil cools your body though so if you live in a cold country or are prone to colds, try not to leave in the oil for too long before washing!

Tanushri H: I'm Indian and use coconut oil on a daily basis. It never occurred to me that not everyone uses it like that. Which brings me to the question- how does everyone take care of their hair then? You just leave it dry without putting on anything? Doesn't that make your scalp dry and itchy?

Alanna: "Easy breezy...coconut girl" Awesome video Brenda, I love the details and facts you give us. A good mask to try is strawberries, bananas, hibiscus, and coconut oil. It's messy but it made my hair really soft.

Jayanthi Shanmugam: Hey brenda, your videos are just amazing and I have a question like from all the hair packs (like banana mask, flaxseed gel, aloevera, ricewater and coconut oil) which do you prefer is the best and what is the routine hair mask you follow? Btw, You are so gorgeous!❤

Nancy Morales: The best part was " Easy, breezy, *hair flip* coconut girl!" I LOVE IT! Last summer my hair was the same I did a coconut milk remedy! Saved my hair! I have curly frizzy hair and while it's not humid all the time where I live my hair is usually a Frizzball

auxilia sequeira: It is also perfect to use on scalp!!!! Helps head aches, dry skin, dandruff, skin burns.... Lighter than olive oil

MG Papa: Ofcourse, coconut oil is powerful and organic!❤️ My family used to use coconut oil/ milk for our hair since I was small and it made our hair became think and strong , but when we started with different shampos and went to hair salons, it started to have many hair falls and dry hairs. But now, I realized that the coconut is the best. I use it now for my hair and skin, it is even curing sores and skin allergies❤️

Edita Dyrmishi: Hi Brenda,i remember a good remedy for dry and damaged hair to use for lengths and ends such as oatmeal gel very soothing and hydrating!!! Hope you can enjoy the benefits

Siddhi Shah: thanks for the fundraiser♡ and the fact that you bring forth a beauty culture from india among your own community is so nice

Shampa Samant: Brenda: drops a coconut oil video Indians everywhere : synchronous cheering

Sheelu Shibani: I have actually used coconut oil all my life. Once I switched up oils it didn't feel as good as before so now I am back. Coconut oil also makes your hair jet black, like really dark. I usually use a coin sized amt of shampoo and mix it up with water, when it's little foamy use that to clean your hair it works just as well. Although what oil you use and what shampoo you use may change the quantity a bit.

KR K.: Truth be told, this is one of the best channels ever! I'll be here for the long haul ❤️

Girl Engineer: I have been using Coconut oil for 23 years and its great for my hair and I apply it every week twice and sometimes I mix alo vera to it and apply it like a mask and that makes my hair look even more silkier and soft. Give it a try. BTW loved your video I watched it for the 1st time and subscribed it

valerian herrera: Putting on a good amount of oil on you hair before swimming helps since water an oil don’t mix after swimming just shampoo like normal :)

Valeo 8: Hi, I haven't read the comments so I don't know if anyone else has already suggested you. It took me a long time to understand how to take care of my hair with natural methods. I'd like to share these tips with you: - to remove the oil from hair it would be better to use conditioner (on the scalp) and then wash hair as usual with shampoo and conditioner (on the lengths), this is because "oil removes oil"; - usually the oil is applied to damp and not dry hair. This is because oils tend to dry out hair. A moisturizing pack should solve the situation (or more than a pack). I hope my tips will be helpful to you

Rhea Comaria: For easy application, put the coconut oil in a spray container, then we just need to open some section of our scalp and spray it and massage it a little to spread it through all the hair

moseph: The weird in me adores the weird in you. Both entertaining and informative. My hair is just like yours too❣️

MJ T: I used this earlier this year to treat my Shingles. I applied a generous amount of warm coconut oil on my hair and scalp and While doing so, on the fifth day, I noticed that my Shingles were healing and on top of that my hair was super freaking shiny and healthy after each shower. My hair has never felt so soft and smooth and shiny. I knew that coconut oil is comedogenic, but I ignored that because my Shingles were so painful and just a nightmare and breaking out during that time was the least of my concerns. To cut it short, coconut oil truly helped cure my Shingles and gave me healthy hair as well.

Purnima Narang: I am from India and this has been a age old regime in the country. Some people even use it for moisturising the skin.

Halle A: Your videos are like your hair...FLAWLESS QUEEN ✨✨✨

Rose Akane: Girl, it's a wow video and thanks for the wise knowledge you gave us. I just watched a YouTube having a cassia hair treatment and the benefits it haves and the results were a wow.

Sora kun: Oil for hair oiling must always match the porosity of your hair. Additionally, coconut oil or other, improperly selected oil can make your hair frizzy - it is not good for everyone. Plus, the best way to wash off the oil from your hair is to thoroughly brush or comb the conditioner into it and leave it for 10-20 minutes. Rinse. Then wash the scalp as normal with shampoo. Then there is no chance that anything will be left on the hair. Additionally, we will not destroy them.

N for the Nature: My hair love coconut oil Of course it’s not going to change hair like 0 to 10 but my hair did get better with consistency use. Still haven’t try other oils though, but I’m looking forward to experiment a lot of them!

Subha Chugh: I'm from India and oiling your hair (YES THE SCALP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART) is tradition Put a little bit of diluted shampoo, massage it into the scalp. It won't lather, still massage it and let it stay for a few minutes That would get rid of most of the oil and you might need one more wash after that

Tori: I’m only now seeing this video but I have a tip at removing oil from your hair without having to shampoo it multiple times: When I’m ready to wash it out, I first rinse my hair as well as I can with water, then apply your conditioner FIRST, all over your hair and scalp. Let it sit for like 3-5 minutes and rinse really well. At that point it breaks down the oil and rinses a large portion of it out. So I just shampoo like normal but with slightly more shampoo (like a tablespoon) and rinse. Then apply your conditioner to just your ends like normal.

marjorie: Apple vinagar IS great for removing the oil and it works as well for frizziness.

Subhicsha s: My hair is super frizzy . I have used a lot of antifrizz products and nothing works . But mixing 5/6drops of coconut oil and serum works really good for me . I do it once in three days after washing and drying my hair

Sairam Hv: I still apply coconut oil to my hair every day. My hair is about 1.5 inches long and I apply 3-4 drops of coconut oil every day, comb it and I shampoo my hair twice a week. Works like a charm :) every day is a good hair day

mamaofB.A.D.: I been using coconut oil for a little over a year. I absolutely love it

Hey You: I love how hair dressers are like don’t use coconut oil on your hair but here buy this product that’s has coconut oil In it HAHAH

Nutellix: I massaged my scalp with coconut to stimulate hair growth but it gave me dandruff, itchiness and little results...took me like 3 months to get my scalp back to normal. Now I only use it for my diy hair masks without touching my roots because I don't want to waste the whole bottle. This new method is much better for me

Ds: The best way to apply coconut oil is taking a mixture of 1-2 tbsp of it in a bowl,1/4 th tsp of gring methi seeds,1/2 tbsp of each castor and olive oil and warm it in a double boiler .Apply it twice a week before going to bed and shampoo it next day.Don't keep it for a long time .You may apply some suitable conditioner, serum or aloevera gel(a natural setting gel) after shampoo. PS-I have some butt size hair and being a Indian I use it since my childhood.

SkreD -: Hey. Quick Question how long do you leave the coconut oil on for? Thanks for the video helped a lot!

𝚂𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚢 𝚊 𝙷𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗: I love coconut oil but unfortunately, it makes my skin itch which is strange, because I can consume it, but can’t use any product on my skin/hair that contains it or I’ll get a rash. Edit: if you have the same issue and need a clear oil for your hair (Mine is platinum blonde and gets tinted from oils) then try pure squalane . It’s lab made and very well tolerated, Plus it closely mimics the oil in your skin which is actually a waxy ester - and not an oil at all.

Bianca Bello: Wow thank you so much for being a large creator who actually credits small ones like me! You’re such a sweetie appreciate u and so happy you found love in coconut oil!! X

pooja nadagouda: Try ghee(clarified butter) it's even better. My hair was so dry because of hard water but after using ghee it has become really soft and shiny. Being an Indian I use coconut oil for all hair and skin issues. I personally don't have any skin reactions to coconut oil as I use it to remove make up and as moisturizer in winter or for massaging body etc.

zoharini kurniati: I use coconut oil once a week and my hair in excellent condition, even with thne amount of hair coloring I've been doing. Also if you have dandruff, mix fresh lemon water in the coconut oil before applying.

Kumari Akanksha Gargi: When your skin has severe damage, you can use coconut oil for that too . It helps

RS: Brenda, coconut oil is meant to apply on scalp and then wash it after a day or two. It is a brilliant subside to conditioner. Apply a spoon full of coconut oil on your hair in damp hair and when your hair dry, it will work as a conditioner and a serum and make your hair frizz free and shiny

Jazmin Rodriguez: With curly hair, remember to apply moisture first! Just water is fine, but you have to do that or your hair will break!!

Guri Nordenskjold: I have dry hair and it had started to frizel. I used coconut and it made my hair really soft but no shine. Then I mixed coconut oil and alovera gel and that is starting to give me the result I want

Dhara Chaudhari: You can apply it to scalp I've been doing this since my childhood it never clogged my pores

Vibhavee Sarathchandra: As someone from Sri Lanka, I have plenty of experience with coconut oil . I just mostly massage my scalp the night before a wash and apply a very small coating . Though I found that king coconut oil gives me better results. I'll be looking forward to more videos Inthe future, keep it up

Ritu Sekhri: In case you are some who regularly goes into pool or sea, try this: 1. Coconut oil should not be applied more than 2-3 times a week- correct 2. See if you can try spraying some aloe vera gel+water mixture before u jump into pool 3. If not the above, coconut cream does amazing job in pools and sea Whenever you oil, oil the roots too...

Lianne Marie: I use coconut oil on my hair, a lot but I also don't wash my hair but 1-2 x a week. My hair was bleached white and was wrecked. It's in such good shape and is growing so fast! I also cover myself head to toe with it, after showering. It's great for eczema!

Bamboozled: I used to use it on my hair in my 30s, but I've used virgin organic coconut oil on my face as a moisturiser for around 6 years, I'm 65yrs old and most people think I'm 50 to 52 yrs so it must be good

Sam Wilson: Omg I absolutely love you! You are so fun, free and just being you! I admire you. Yass girl much love

inamisho1: Really nice tip about the conditioner. Your hair is so beautiful! I'm going to try the coconut oil mask now:)

Shivani Upadhyay: I make my own different types of oils

Bruna: Dilute the oil in hot water, keep it warm~hot while you apply. Don't use too much oil, it's not supposed to be used like a mascara and soak in it, a table spoon for her amount of hair is enough. Apply and put a heating cap (literally a normal plastic cap and wrap a hot towel to keep it hot). It'll help penetrate in your hair, specially for low porosity hair instead of just letting it sit on it and clog your hair cuticles

Anuja Potdar: To avoid the protein over dose just apply it 20 mins prior to hair wash and don't apply too much works wonders.

Farida Yeasmin: I'm 23 and have been using since childhood.... My granny my mom everyone has been using it for ages and till now I can see my granny's hair so good.... And it suits for almost every hair type.....

Babe Lincoln: I use castor oil. I notice it helps my scalp and hair stay more hydrated through the week. I’m sure ppl think it’s weird but I use dawn dish soap to wash out the oil. It’s safe for pets skin so you know it’s not highly filled with detergents. The oil you choose should depend on your hair porosity. I’m sure castor oil is too heavy for me since I’m 2a or b but I love the results. Thicker, faster growing, shiny looking hair. No matter your hair type oil is something everyone should be using. Worth it! I’m going to start applying oil to my legs and arms once a week now to see what happens.

California Mountain Art And Life: I put coconut in my hair daily but use it sparingly. I wash my hair every two weeks. Have you ever considered doing a challenge where you go a week without washing your hair. Many people in the long hair community wash less often.

mar blueony: In the Philippinez, we sometimes use coconut milk as a conditioner. Maybe you can try that. It's not oily compared to coconut oil.

Miśka Miśka: Coconut oil doesn't have much protein, if any it is a minimal amount. Also, protein only sits on your hair, it won't be built into it and you won't get protein overload from natural products like this one. Probably your ends are just very damaged and hair follicles won't close and make the hair fuller and smoother, which is what coconut oil helps to do as far as I'm concerned.

essech: I have been applying coconut oil to my hair for 30 years now. You don't have to apply it every day though. OVERDOSE OF EVERYTHING NEVER ENDS WELL. I apply it thrice a week and it works beautifully. After I saw your flax seed video, I had the same thoughts. I now apply flax seed gel before washing my hair, and a night before i massage my scalp with coconut oil. And I live in a super fookin humid place. XD

SreeHari !!!: I'm from Kerala, India. Here most of the people use coconut oil daily and uses shampoo only 1 or 2 times a week. Not only coconut oil, some of us make our own oil, adding ayurvedic medicinal plants like Bringharaj, Tulsi, Curry leaves etc to coconut oil. Kerala women had beautiful had long, black and thick hair. Although women with that kind of hair are not that common. My Cousin and her 2 daughters have that kind of hair.

Zuha Sajid: I am Pakistani and we apply oil almost everytime we take a shower with a shampoo so once or twice a week! Its a tradition..since long hair are one the characteristics of beauty here!

Dilna Biju: Hi....I am Dilna from Kerala. I don't think coconut oil can damage the hair from long time use. The correct usage with little massage can help your hair to grow strong and healthy. From my childhood till now coconut oil is our part of hair and skin treatment. It's just a suggestion I mostly prefer to use coconut oil once a week. Apply coconut oil from scalp to tip of the hair, leave it for 3-4 hours and wash it with shampoo from back to front with a little massage( Use a mild shampoo). Hair will be strong and healthy. If there is dandruff use twice a week and comb the scalp from front to back using a wooden comb. If your hair is damaged from chlorine use a hibiscus mask (thalli) with coconut oil. Just some tips from Kerala.

Daleth Vanderlinde: Hi, gorgeous! Waves from Brasil! I speak (and write) just a litle bit, so please forgive my grammar. Here , we use coconut virgin oil a lot as hair treatment. We call this "umectação", and the best way to remove the oil is to apply some sort of conditioner that don't have in it petrolatum or silicones, it has to have the most simple composition as possible - the most common and cheap here is the "Yamasterol Creme Multifuncional". So, soak the hair with this and leave for 20 min. After that, wash your hair with water and don't use shampoo, use the same conditioner that you use to do the pause of 20 min. The hair will be clean and the good part of the oil will stay in a proper quantity. Ah, and you can use other types of oil, including olive oil. Just look for a cold pressed oil.

VJ Bhanu Vlogs: Coconut oil is very common in our Indian hair beauty. I add 1/4 amount of castor oil and boil with curry leaves. It works well if you want to get regrowth.

Mecava M: I have been using coconut oil for years. You have to put shampoo on dry hair to wash off the oil nicely, and only after that to wet your hair.❤️

Jazzy Dion: My friend does this every 7-10 days using coconut. Not everyday she say, like you said on the video it gets dry and brittle. And her hair grow so fast. Within a year.

Namita Lad: I literally used to have my hair oiled everyday when in school. Gradually reduced application as I grew old. And now I hardly use it and I can see the damage. It's time to use coconut oil again

Sherry Gadberry Turner: I’ve used nothing on my hair but Pantene ever since it cam out. My hair hasn’t been trimmed in at least two years, still NO SPLIT ENDS! I wash it then two days later rinse and condition it.

Anna Sarkar: I tried the conditioner trick and it worked! I didn’t need to shampoo my hair twice. Aha! Thanks for passing down the tip

World Peace: ⚠️ TO ADD : IF you have low prosity hair, coconut oil is not good. As it can cause build-up and leave hair dry, frizzy, and more prone to breakage.

Hayden Robinson: Straight coconut oil once a week or once every two weeks is brilliant especially for bleached hair, there is also a hair oil good for people with short to medium hair called cloud control by blumaan which includes coconut oil and loads of other good oils, it's also 100% natural botanical extracts and it's best used 3-4 times a week on damp hair before a blow-dry

marilynciccone: I'm curious which you liked better; the flaxseed gel or the coconut oil. I'm having the same issues with my hair so wanted to know your thoughts. What were the differences between the two, and did either do a better job with certain things or were they the same?

Suhasini Kannaiah: Subscribed! where you been all this while woman?? Such gorgeous content! ♥️ I’m someone who does oil her hair fairly regularly =_= but dread shampooing my hair twice so oily hair is my identity :’) Can’t wait to give the conditioner trick a go. I’mma edit wif da results ;) Also what’s that groovy tune towards the last minute of the video?? So groovy lotsa love! ♥️♥️

Julz Alta: Shampoing daily is great for scalp health and hair density though. So it depends on your priorities.

Vineela Venus: Add the half quantity of castor oil with coconut oil... heat the oil a little to make both the oils mix together and then apply it to your hair when it's little warm... this hack grows hair... also completely reduces frizz...

Alina Popoi: Hi Brenda! Love your videos. I started to use grape seeds oil and it leaves my dry and curly hair soo smooth and not oily at all. Could you give it a try please?

Adriana Tomic: Olive oil...is my holy grail for my hair. I have intolerance for coconut, so I avoid it to eat or put on skin. I love using hydrating mask with honey, some we have here in stores, first that on my dry hair, soak it, let it dry and then put olive oil and soak my hair from to bottom, the longer it stays, the better...I try at least 4-5 hours...but best result are 24-36 hours... If you do not go out...that does work, just have to wash it with shampoo 2-3x until it is all out, like regular wash..put mask over dump hair..wait for 1-2 hours...wash it down...and the most beautiful hair. But if you do have split ends, nothing helps, only cutting hair. This is more prevention. With this I can delay my split ends for....two yeas once..it was cool..then I bleached it, now I am on the process of waiting the last 10-15cm to grow up and be cut...still this method helps, I just added protein mask too.

Sea Shell: She destroyed the whole coconut oil experiment by putting conditioner in her hair. Is it soft and shiny because of the conditioner or the oil, we will never know. lol

Sree Rekha: I apply coconut oil daily on my hair. I detangle my hair with my fingers instead of comb which has reduced hair breakage..

Sunitha Santhosh: Instead of shampooing your hair use fenugreek paste that was soaked overnight .make sure that the paste is really fine

rhondaurb: Would using a clarifying shampoo once a month or so help with the protein overload issue?
