Long Hair Hot Rollers | Qvc

Long Hair Hot Rollers | QVC

I was scrolling through Amazon and saw these hot rollers targeted towards long hair and of course I had to purchase them. There are so many hot rollers, but they're smaller in size and usually result with more of a body and bounce instead of a beautiful wave or curl. These hot rollers have a high price tag so they better perform. Have you tried these hot rollers that are advertised on QVC? How did they perform on your hair?

Love, Milabu

Today, I'm gon na play with hot rollers for longer hair.. This right here is by the brand Calista.. This is their Calista Tools, Ion Hot Rollers Long Style Set 12 Base that retails for $ 149., And I got these from Amazon. Never used this brand.. I see a lot of people talk about them on QVC. Or they were sold on QVC, maybe a while ago.. This is what they look: like. They're, actually quite heavy.. You get 12 of each. And then you get 12 clips right in here. And then you have the base with the plug right in here.. Let'S turn these on ,'cause, it does say, takes up to three minutes to heat.. It'S been three minutes, and only six of these are dark.. It says once they're heated, they're, gon na be dark in color. And the other six are still bright red., So the ones closer to the on-off indicator, they're hot. And I can feel it they're warm. And these are cold. - That's not good.. So since this half is working closer to the light on and off indicator, we're gon na use these six first and then I'll transfer the other six here. While I'm doing these curlers. So basically take one off put one on., And hopefully we heat that up. And I'm gon na try to copy or follow this right here. These long ones. She's using different sized curlers.. So I wan na use these long ones vertically, just because I wan na get more of a wave instead of body. We'll see what happens. And then the ones in the back I'll do them horizontally, because I don't want a separate line., So we'll do them horizontally., We'Ll see what looks better vertical or horizontal., So let's go for it.. Let me take out the clips and then let's start styling. And they do use the rollers to kinda brush it through.. I watched some of their QVC segments. And they don't feel hot at all. They do feel warm, but they don't feel hot.. So I do wan na wrap the hair around and away from my face.. So let's wrap this in here. And then let's wrap it all together, just like that.. Hopefully that will stay in there.. I'M really curious. What that is, gon na look like. They're, not as grippy as I thought they were, so they must be putting quite a bit of tension on the hair. And I can handle it pretty easily. Like it's, not too hot. Wow.. I feel like because I've never used such long rollers before it's taking a lot of work out of me, a lot of strain, not strain just a lot of time., But once you get used to it, I think yeah you'll be good.. Okay, babe! I think I need you to help me in the back.. It'S not really brushing the hair as well as it looks like on their videos. [ Andrey ]. I mean like one good thing. I guess is the way it cools down on the hot rollers is very different, then a curling iron.. I literally can't see what I'm doing'cause these are so long.. It doesn't wan na stick or hold.. All right figured that out. All right. We literally have one left. Ow, it's hot oh., All right wow. This is actually really heavy.. How many minutes should I do it for Let's do 20 minutes of this. All right, so we had it for roughly 25 minutes. And let's take them out. And they definitely don't feel hot or warm on the head, any more. And I'm looking and most of them Are red already., So they definitely all cooled off., Let's reveal them. And you don't wan na. Take it out like that'cause. It does have. What would you say the bristles on there.? That'S quite nice, oh. Okay., [, Andrey ], It's very nice and soft. Yeah.. Just going to unroll., I mean look at the difference with the way you roll it with the result. You know what I mean This one's, not as nice is what I'm trying to say.. I didn't do that good of a job rolling., Okay, a little bit of creasing from the clip, and it's not as even., Oh, that one's pretty., This one. [ Andrey ] That guy. This guy., That's actually really pretty.. At least rhe hair feels soft. [ Andrey ]. One thing I see is that it doesn't go as far to the roots. Yeah.. Oh okay got something., Don't know what I did there, but that's what happened. I feel like this one. I could have done two to three sections at least.. It'S extremely inconsistent., Just gon na use my hands my fingers to just comb this out, fluff it out.. It definitely gave body. But quite a bit of creasing. So I feel like, if you have bigger clips, it's gon na look much better. They're, just very inconsistent., So you do have to have a strategy of how you wan na roll them., The smaller the sections, the better results. Bigger sections you get just more of a. I don't even know like what is this even Like a slight bend.. I don't know just not loving the over all look.. I got a much better result using the Bun-2-Done by Conair. That was so consistent.. It looked so good. These ones, not so much.. I'M not really enjoying it.. Obviously the biggest thing is. It literally does not work the way it should. Only half of them work. So that's a huge down point downside in my opinion. Like for $ 150 149. This should be immaculate. And it's not it's broken. It'S defective., So I'm definitely gon na reach out to them or literally just return these., Because A it takes way too much effort and time they're way too heavy. And I'm comparing them to like Bun-2-Done. The Bun-2-Done, literally ,'cause they're, bigger rods, they're a lot slimmer. So you get more of a defined curl or a wave, depending on how much hair you put into that curler.. I don't know it's way too expensive.. Yes, you get body., But you really have to be strategic of how you place it.. At least you do get something., You know it's not just blah and just did nothing.. So I'm really happy that it did get something, especially these pieces right here.. I like that they actually came out really nice.. So I'm gon na play with this a little bit more, even though it doesn't work properly., I'm gon na play with it a little bit more and see the right way to use this for my hair type., But at least we got something.. I just don't like the over all result.. If you do use these particular rollers and these specific ones the long ones. What do you do to get a very consistent, even result, And how do you roll it? How do you place it Things like that? I am really interested because I, like that they're longer and they're gon na give you more of a wave more of a curl defined wave instead of just body and just a bend.. I think that's what I'm all about especially right now.. So, in regards to the rollers, some of the complaints were that it's too hot, like the handles or the edges, they were too hot to handle.. But honestly, I didn't find that the case., If anything, they were hot like right in the center., But I still handled them pretty well., Don't like hold on to them for too long.. So you can use your fingers to roll your hair inside. I guess that's what I'm trying to say., I feel like. You really need to practice a lot with these, especially if you do it on yourself and looking in the mirror and understanding how to roll them, which way you want to roll them.. So there is definitely a lot of like I said strategy, a lot of practice, a lot of skill that you have to gain by practicing using these.. So it's definitely not gon na come out looking great, the first several times.. So I'm just trying to keep that in mind., But even with that, just seeing the quality of the stand that doesn't turn on the other half of the stand. That'S a really huge issue for me red flag for this brand., And just these right here, they're very stiff.. These. I don't even know what you want to call these these little bristles these little pricks, whatever it is, but they're very hard and they're quite uncomfortable to handle.. They actually are quite stiff and they kind of hurt. And they are heavy if you put all of them in your head, which I did 11 not 12.. I should have separated this section right, here., But yeah. It'S quite heavy in the head kind of uncomfortable.. All right, I'm gon na leave it there.. Thank you guys for watching and spending time with me. And I'll see you in the next one very soon., Bye. ( Blows kiss )

Kelsey Bailey: I think it’s an appropriate review. For those saying her rolling job is a mess, that’s probably how difficult it is to use these. If it takes practice to use, or 30 minutes to put in rollers, just use a curling iron - that’s my take away from the review. For $150 and 30 minutes I can get better results with an iron.

Connie Hutson: I've had my conair hot rollers for years! They get hot. They're not too heavy but you definitely know they are there. I have wands and curling irons. All of these are used for different looks and styles. Obviously, you have to practice using all tools before you figure out how to use them on your hair. I think if you had put the rollers closer to your head, placed them only vertically and then put a light spray of hairspray on before you started running your fingers through, the curls would've lasted longer.

Kalisha J: I think they're ok and definitely seem like they have a learning curve. I feel I could get better results with my Caruso steam rollers. I think it's neat that they're geared for long hair but I think there are too many inconsistencies with heat for the price. Thanks for reviewing these, you're always so thorough and your curls did look really nice.

Beverly Grist: I miss your hair style videos especially now that you're hair is longer. I need some fresh summer updo ideas

-Nellie -m: I had a set of professional heated rollers that salons use and ended up giving them away..Dang I wish I hadn’t now, but in saying that, I would always roll my hair just in the normal way taking smaller sections of my hair and it would come out looking perfectly curled, I also had different sizes in my set for around the hair line, but the same kind of clips to hold them in, I’d also keep mine in for up to 30 minutes and they’d get quite hot, sometimes I’d just put them in the top of my hair to give a little bounce and body to the rest of my long hair that’s to my bra strap. I’d be sending those back because obviously they’re not all heating at the same time.

Jennifer Ann Fox: I've used hot rollers for 40 years. I don't think with hot rollers you get an exact curl placement. They instead give long hair alot of body and wave. I think if you want exactly placed curls do the curling iron. I think hot rollers are great. You can do your makeup while they are cooling. Then take them out and brush through lightly. The more you run your fingers down pulling down on the hair, the curl will fall out.

Tanya Davis: Oh my God you are so talented! you find so many ways to do hair, it's incredible the ideas you come up with lol. Been subscribed 4 almost 3 years now and I'm Black! it was your braiding videos that got my attention

Mellissa: Both my sister and I have owned these. I found mine on Ebay for $39 shipped and loved them! (I no longer use hot tools on my hair as I'm now lazy.) Edit: Mine heated up all at once.

Kimberly V.: Love that you have long hair now. I hope to see more fun hair tutorials for long hair from you in the future

Ann Johnson: I have those rollers. I bought them quite a few years ago. I have long thick hair. They are the best curlers ever!

Dena Deen: I have the original of these in long and standard size since they first came out years and years ago. I have hard to curl, super baby fine hair that is thick, 4.75" circumference ponytail. I used all twelve with the base for 6 rollers at a time. I like that they get hot and continue to heat. I could roll my whole head in just 12 rollers. Regular rollers take 24-30 to do that. My hair was a bit longer than her's at the time. They worked wonderfully so when I cut my hair, I got the short/medium size. I did buy extra clips at Sally's from Conair and extra short/medium curlers. I used two clips per long roller due to how much hair I had and how many sections I had to do because of the density of my hair. These were great. I did use a good humidity-resistant hair spray as my curl always falls out in a few hours with any other styler. The hair spray that came with the kits didn't work for my hair. It weighed them down. I used, and still do, Loreal Lock It Weather Control Hairspray. It works and doesn't weigh down my hair in the deep south humidity of Georgia. If you are used to using a curling/flat iron, you will notice the weight, but as you learn the best way to roll your hair, it all works out in the end. It takes four to five times longer for me to curl the density of my hair with an iron of any kind, so these were a Godsend.

LaSirena Nyce: Gorgeous! My all time favorite rollers. Took a little learning curve but I don't get creases anymore. Mine all get hot always. Going to check out the bundnt.

KismetKat11: I think there is a whole generation that didn’t grow up with heated curlers because hairstyles have been very straight or beachy waves for so long, heated curlers just haven’t been “in”. Like anything else, you just need practice to figure out how to get the look you want. I actually like the softer curls. However, I agree about those types of clips, they do crease. They used to have wire hooks that were better in terms of not leaving a crease. I wonder if they exist as an option and/or if they’d work with the weight of this type of roller.

Diane Peluso: Your hair looks so good long, I was watching some old videos & it’s so much longer

J G: You have such BEAUTIFUL LONG HAIR! omgg looks so good on you! :D

Chantel G.: Oh hot rollers. I remember all the girls coming to practices still in rollers and by first hour they magically had these beautiful curls. I could never get the hang of it. Pretty sure my mom cut her hair off in 1987 forever because she was sick of them

Julia G.: This is basically why I gave up on hot rollers many years ago. Inconsistent curls, ridges, heavy, and it was a challenge to get them not to fall out of my fine hair.

Leanna Pellegrini: I have this set in the short. They work great. I get curl and volume. I love them.

AsyaEsra61 Kandemir: I love you so much, I am watching you from Turkey. You are beautiful and I think you are creating reliable content. We are so far away but as a new mom I feel really close to you As a full time mom you are doing a fantastic job and the babyy hairssss though hahaha the same here sister

Grace Villa: I'm always so mesmerized by Mila, so beautiful inside and out ❤️

Carla Testa: I have these. You have to make sure that the rollers are pushed all the way down on the base or they don’t heat. I’m sure that’s why only half of yours are hot.

M B: Okay you were beautiful before but, you look absolutely GORGEOUS with your hair grown out

Cat Darling: Love your long hair❗️Are there ANY hot rollers that are a little larger. Love all your videos! Thank you for showing us new products etc.

CFC thegreatesttherecanbe: Wow I remember when I was a little girl (I’m now 53) my Mum had rollers like this for short hair. Most things these days seem to come back on trend, I think designers run out of ideas.

Lorraine Foster: I would have liked to see you try these another time to give them a fair shake. Hot rollers need to be hot, so maybe they were not given enough time to heat up. Also, the rolling technique was all over the place, so a little practice on that would surely give a better result. And you also need to let the curls completely cool before messing with them. I don't have these rollers, but as a college student in the 80's, I washed, dried and hot rollered my hair every single day. I had that routine down pat. I'm curious if these would work for my daughter who has below the shoulder hair, but it's so thick I don't have enough rollers in my old set to get through all of her hair.

60Airflyte: I have those and they make my hair very curly. I use it for the back which is harder to curl. My only complaint is the smell. They smell like burnt plastic. It doesn’t seem to impart the odor to my hair, per my husband.

Tracy Spadola: I've had these for years and change in with the regular length. Love them

MzKinkyCurl: I was soo excited for this! And now I’m like, ‘MEH!’

Amber Franco: Clip the hair up and work from the bottom up. Will be much easier with long hair and you can get closer to the root. If you have inconsistent sections and aren't close to the root of course you have inconsistent curls.

Delson Galasinao: Thanks to you're video tutorial you inspired to change my look this pandemic when everyone is stay at home.

Jennifer Ann Fox: also you can hold the roller itself still like a curling wand and wrap the hair around the roller held still close to the head and then clamp, They come out more like using a curling iron then.

Jessica R: I’ve used calista rollers before. Like the rollers but not the clips. I wound up using different clips and it worked better, less creasing.

S G: How do you keep your hair healthy with all the heat styling you do?? My hair is so fine and fragile. It’s not color treated, but even at its healthiest, I can’t heat style on a regular basis without frying my hair and ending up with a pixie

kaoutar: I wish I have that smoothy shine in my hair

Claudia Bernardi: Your hair looks so beautiful! ❤️

pam m: You are an expert normally handling hair. It pained me to see you do a bad job rolling. You used a huge chunk of hair in the back for one roller and totally missed the right rear side of your head with one roller. And yes please let them heat up a bit longer to give them a fair shake.

Lisa Ryherd: Is it just me, because I get so excited when I see a new video put up by you!!!!

Anita Amin: I was about to buy these but not anymore. Thanks for this video

Talia Y: It’s inconsistent because your sections are inconsistent. Thicker the section the less heat that can penetrate through so a looser wave

NemoTheGreat !: Tbh I think she would get better results if she had put it like a roller set

Sandra Sears: You would've got better results with an old $30 set of regular hot rollers.

Mahija Ajzeraj: Can you please make a video about what shampoos you use or just shampoos and hair products in general? Thanks xoxo

D Heredia: What shampoo and conditioner do you use? Your hair is so shinny!

Cee Bee: I feel like these rollers are made for long long hair. Like half way down the back long.

Abby Alarid: My arm hurts just watching. I definitely don't miss using rollers.

Barbara Gray: Your hair is so pretty, I love it....

Josefine Oehlenschläger: I love the long hair on you!!!

mrs_music_teach: I think you didn't really do a fair review in that your rolling needs lots of work. That being said, I would return them because they are broken. Also I heat rollers for about half hour...not 3 minutes

Cheryl Christian: Also you need more rollers. But I would send it back. Probably the whole heating system is bad and they didn’t get hot enough

A -: My hair is down to my butt, would this work? Cause my hair is actually really long

Cami Anne: For that price I'm gonna buy a nice straightener and get much better results.

Julz Guess: Any good hot rollers you need to heat for about 15mins. They need to be hot. Believe me!!! I have been using them for over 30 years. You need to have more time with getting used to using them. They are going to give you a better wave curl and bounce.

Natalie: Please remake the 90s blowout hair from TikTok

Diana Shepherd: I feel like if it’s too complicated to use by yourself without assistance then it’s not worth it.

Slav in Japan: There’s something very vaporwave about hot rollers.

L. Q.: Another fine example why people who are not professionals should not be reviewing products.

jess is crafty: Oof. If you sectioned as evenly as you do when you are using your flat iron this would have looked way better. In general, if it looks like you haphazardly threw the rollers in with no rhyme or reason, your curls will be just as inconsistent.

Murder & Mysteries with Megan: For $150 it should do everything it says it will.

Louise Fabella: Can you review Calista Hot Brushes? :) Pleaaaseeeee

Vellanee Myers: I love my calista hot rollers !!

Angela: Can you do a review on supergoop products?

Diane Harrison: In 55 yrs I ve never used Rollers lol x

Freddy Em: Isn’t it logical that the rollers aren’t hot? If they were hot you wouldn’t be able to touch them.

Stacey Shaffer: This would not work for me because I have waist length hair.... I will continue using my hair instyler ❤❤ because it would take too many of these to curl my hair...

The stylish duck: So cool

kaidan: My hairs past my butt, I consider your hair short/medium. Wonder if these would work for long thick hair.

Sofia Raza: Love youuuuuuuuuu❤️❤️

Marcsi Nagy: i cant shake the feeling that you look like you should have a british accent

Dreamy Glam: Superb video.. So beautiful..

Diane Thomas: Give it another try, your rolling job was a mess. I'm not sure this was a fair review. I probably wouldn't consider your hair long.

Tbg Mag: Miss your shorter hair and updos for shorter hair

P Z: WTF your hair isn't even long.

Sara Langhorne: Your hair is gotten long.

nertila koci:

Ava Dison: Hi!!!❤️❤️❤️

Muan Puii:

Laura Weis: Also, don't like the result

Sierra Berger: Love you

Laura Weis: If you need help to do it, its a no go for me. My husband won't be wanting to help me put in rollers nor would I want him to. Just sayin...

strawberry_cow :p: First

Akil Seilen: I was going to watch this video, but the first 10 seconds showed me everything I care about. I'm unsubscribing.

Vienna V: First!

Rachel Nama: Lol...your hair is not long honey lololol
