When she was 5 months old, there was a story on the news about a baby who lost a toe because one of the moms long hairs had wrapped around one of the baby toes and cut off circulation. I started checking my baby toes. One day I noticed one toe was a different color and I found one of my hairs wrapped around the toe so tightly, that I had a difficult time getting it off. I had missed it even though I was checking. I went in the next day and got my hair cut into a short shag, I cried and when they went to make the first cut, the place got silent and when I looked up, everyone was watching! It was almost like every woman there shared a moment of silence for my hair, lol! (this was 40 years ago)
