So you need to know how to retain the length that you have grown on your 4c natural hair, well you're at the right place, i'll be sharing with you a few tips on how to retain the length that you have grown on your natural hair or grow. Your natural hair out long regardless of the texture, so you need to keep watching hey, welcome back to the channel new growth naturals. My name is samantha. If we're meeting for the first time, i'm a natural hair specialist and also a certified hair loss practitioner on this channel, i post videos on how to care for your natural hair, natural hair styles and everything in regards to your natural hair health. So if you haven't yet subscribed hit that subscribe button below, so you get updates whenever i post new videos on how to care for your natural hair. So in this video i'll be sharing with you a few simple tips on how to grow your natural hair out long, preferably your type 4 texture here, because i realized there's not a lot of force in here. Natural hair, youtubers and that can be frustrating because most of y'all you have force in here. That'S why you come here to see my video right, [ Laughter, ] anyway, so tip number one sleep in a satin scarf. I know you probably hear it everywhere, but it is that important sleep in a satin scarf or use a silk pillowcase. Yes, that helps to protect your hair from breakage throughout the night, so take that seriously tip number two deep condition: your hair, like every time you wash your hair, use a deep conditioner and i promise you'll start seeing great results. Tip number three, which should have been the first tip, leave your hair alone literally leave your hair alone. Natural hair is fragile if you're constantly manipulating your hair, says you're gon na break it. So the best thing to do do a protective style that lasts you. At least two to three weeks, or as long as you can manage to keep that protective style for once your scalp and your hair is cared for and they're healthy go ahead. Why not but leave your hair alone, the more touches. The more manipulation is gon na break. The culprit is not that your hair is not growing. Forget that if you shave your head off right now, my next week you'll see here on your head. It means that your hair is growing. So if your hair is growing constantly, maybe not as a fast-paced, maybe but it is growing and that's all you need to know so if your hair is growing. That means that, at some point in time you should have long hair, but the fact that it is constantly breaking off. That'S why you don't have any hair to retain hair, try to leave it alone, just comb, your hair, moisturize, your hair, protect your scalp. Do scalp massages leave your hair alone tip number four watch. Your diet, healthy, strong hair is totally dependent on the nutrients that we put in our body. Our body gets its energy from the food we eat. I guess you all know that from biology class right, but god has made us fearfully and wonderfully so our body tends to prioritize so if you're not eating enough nutrients, if the nutrients that you're already getting goes to your heart, your lungs, your liver, those type of Organs that need it to survive, to keep you alive and then the what left, if any at all, goes to your nails, your skin, your hair, because your body doesn't see it as a priority to grow hair out your scalp anyway. So then, that hair that you may be getting growing out of your scalp may be thin, maybe weak it may be brittle. So the leaves of the breeze are environmental factor. Whatever you put on it may cause breakage. So you want to make sure that you're eating up your fruits, your vegetables, you're drinking, a lot of water, keep your hair hydrated from inside out and such the likes. I won't tell you what to eat. I know you'll. Do your research, but guys follow a good, healthy diet. Also, you need to exercise, don't stress like it's a stressful world. Trusting jesus! God is good. I hear somebody say all the time. [ Laughter ]. Yes, all the time. God is good trust in god. He'Ll help you, sis, god, has your back tip number five. I know you may hear this before, but use a white tooth comb to detangle your hair or better yet finger detangle and whenever you're detangling your hair always start from the ends. Once you start from the ends, you want to clear the ends out, and then you work your way up to your root and that way, you'll minimize the amount of breakage that you get and another thing that you should also consider when it comes to detangling your Hair try to do it while you're using a detangler or a good moisturizing product, because once your hair is dry, it doesn't have much elasticity in it. It will snap and it will break tip number six trim your ends when needed, and i don't mean that you should get scissors happy and because your ends look a little bit uneven, you're going to trim. No. Whenever you have split ends single strand knots, when you have hair that start tangling up because they start getting stringy at the end, then you know you need you need a trim, get a trim. If you don't get a trim, especially if you have split ends. It'S just going to travel all the way down to the strand you're, going to end up losing hair, so cut it just below. Where you see the split ends and move on it will grow back. Just do your protective style. Keep your hair moisturized, and i promise you got this, so that's all it for today. I hope you learned something. I hope this short video was in was informative for you. If you have any additional question about how to grow your foresee here, all along comments below and i'll see you in the comment section see the next video. Remember: jesus love. You be good!

Lavinia Latham: The tip that I'm here for the most is #3, leave your hair alone! It's so true... we are always doing the absolute most when it comes to natural hair. Great tips!

Anita Anderson: I love love love your channel. You are enough to brighten up the worst of days with your smile, laugh and personality. I added much more veggies to my diet, increased water intake from barely any to atleast 84oz a day. I stopped using a comb and i keep my hair in plaits. Scalp massages and keep my hair moisturized. In 3 weeks I already have almost 1 inch of growth.

Olive SP: Thank you Sam. I've been using the castor oil daily and my edges are growing so much. I have braids in now for 2 months and keeping them for one more. I cleaned my scalp weekly and oiled. I can see the growth.

Vesleey: The fact that you kept the video short and factual Such an inspo

Nethania Pierre: My goal is to get my hair to reach to where my breast is and no longer than that. Right now my hair is at the base of my neck after a year and a half from being big chopped (due to heat damaged). I actually follow all of your steps except #1 and #6

Gina Onyemaechi: Hello NGN, Thank you for these tips. What remedy, if any, can you suggest for scarring in the hair follicles? This may or may not be why my hair, a natural afro, has been stuck at 5 inches of length for years now. I just don't ever get any new growth (so it's not the case that my hair grows but then breaks off). I have tried all manner of masks and mixes on a regular basis too (since, in line with your advice, I deep condition every 7-14 days). Weaves and extensions don't work either. Can you think why my hair just doesn't grow (if follicle damage is not the problem) and what I can do about it? TIA (if you reply).

womp womp: 1) Satin scarf 2) Deep condition 3) leave your hair alone (protective style 2-3 weeks) 4) watch your diet/ exercise 5) finger detangle or use white tooth comb (start from end and use moisturizing product) 6) trim your ends

Karen Quainoo: Love this video she goes straight to the point

Lisa Forrester: Great tips, number 1 is my biggest problem go to bed with a bonnet on my head wake up, its somewhere else other than on my head. ‍♀️

Woman Of God: Amen, Sam. Thanks for reaffirming that our trust is in Jesus

Irish Moore: You have such a vibrant spirit and may God continue to watch over you and bless you each and every day ❤

Michelle Owens: I just did the big chop July 18th of this year. And my hair is now about 2 to 3 inches long my plan was to start a all Natural journey+ hair growth but I put a relaxer in my hair 2 to 3 weeks ago QUESTION: if I want to start my Natural hair growth journey do I need to do the big chop all over Again and start from scratch or just start growing it out as is? ALSO what oils do you recommend for hair growth? MY GOAL IS 12 INCHES

Somebody Special: Hey samantha, I've been dealing with breakage for a while now and I can't seem to stop it. And it's causing me to not be able to retain length on my hair. Can you help? Do you know how I can stop or minimize it?

Stef: I did the bald chop about 6 months ago, what protective style do you think I should do to retain maximum length ?

Honey Adeniyi: 7th. tip, Use a WOODEN comb, not a plastic comb. Trust me you'll experience a big difference in regards to breakage and how it glides through hair easier.

Angela Puryear: Your channel has helped me begin to retain growth and get the right products to keep my strands hydrated and healthy thanks so much Samantha! I need to know how to keep frizz down in my two strand twists? I want to do a style and leave it alone but the frizz takes over so each weekend I’m redoing twists to keep it presentable. Can you help me figure this out?

Ebizzill: i was about to say.. wow, your hair grew fast!

I try not to sleep on the left side often, hell, my default position is on the right side, im super gentle on the left side when i do my maintenance routine... but its just not responding. I found mini twists to help. I kept them in since August and took them out last week, and with the trim I recently got, i saw some improvement. But I knowing the cycle of my hair, Im afraid it's a fluke and it'll start breaking sooner or later

Sassouu Sasoo: I braid my hair in 4 big sections...How do I re-moisturize my hair ?Should I undo my big braids first?I'm trying to leave my hair alone while still trying to moisturize it as much as possible ..Thank u!!
