3+ Feet Of Hair | How I Grew Butt Length Hair | Tips

Hey Y'all,

Sorry about the frequent lighting changes. There was a storm passing by that day and I film partially with natural lighting. So sorry if that's bothersome. So my hair is kinda my thing. I feel like it's what makes me unique, makes me me honestly. Like it's the one feature I have that's all my own. That not every single other girl has. I know. That sounds cheesy. But I'm really attached to it. My hair care routine is very simple, but incredibly focused on decreasing damage and breakage. It's probably not for everyone but this is what's worked for me. I did color my hair back in high school. All kinds of colors too. I even tried to go BLONDE! Freaking blonde! (I'm obsessed w/ blond hair btw. Always want what you can't have.) So it was really damaged by the end of all that color changing. I chopped it off to just above my shoulders my junior year of HS. (That would have been 2004 I believe.) Colored it back to my natural brown, and let it grow ever since. That's been well over 10 years, I'm sure any color is long gone by now. And I think it was about 2 years and I had what I would consider "long" hair again. So this is what I do to keep it growing and keep it healthy. In fact, I'm actually considering cutting off a bit of the length. I'll always have long hair, I'm just thinking 3-5 inches. I think it may look more polished or something. I'm moving up in my career and I don't want people to think I look childish or something by the length of my hair. Do you know what I mean? Anyway, hope any of this is helpful to you. Be patient if you're trying to grow your's out. It's a process but you'll get there. :) And leave any tips you have in the comments please! Thanks so much for watching!

Hey y'all, so I get questions about my hair and I understand it's like the most recognizable feature about me and I like that I enjoy that. I don't have a problem with it. My hair is my thing and I'm very partial to it, and it's kind of like my security, blanket to be honest with you and I will probably never cut it, no matter how old I get so I thought I have done a video before, but I thought I just kind of like make this real succinct and put it down like what I do to keep my hair healthy, how it's grown so much time line just put it out there. What I do to get my hair this long, so I'm gon na go ahead and stand up and show y'all I'm looking kind of ratch today, it's my day off from hanging out with my dog just filming. So this is the links that I have right now. Pretty much down to my ass crack and it's just about ready for a cut. I always wait till the very end of summer, when I'm done swimming, no more chlorine pools no more oceans get just up when all that's done. That is when I'll cut up all these little split ends and dead ends and stuff like that. So that is where I'm at right now see there. It is so a couple things I just want to put out there right off the bat. A some of these things may be difficult to do. This is my routine. This is what I do you may not want to hear. It may be things that you love that you're doing that. I don't do that. I feel keep my hair healthy, I'm just putting it out there that that's what works. For me. Some of these things may be really hard for people to do, but you know I'm just going to put it out there. That'S what I do. Second thing is genetics and, from what I've heard from quite a few hairdressers is that we all have basically a plateau and that's kind of the link that your hair will grow and it's just kind of based on your genes and personally, I think I've kind of Reached mine, I feel, like my hair, has been at this kind of but length for maybe about a year, maybe longer than that, and it just doesn't seem to really want to grow any longer. I don't know that I'd really want it any longer, but I feel like I may have kind of reached my plateau, although I don't always put a lot of faith in that, because I do think with a great hair care routine and cutting down on damage. I think you can kind of push past that plateau and the third thing is and patience I mean it is: it is hair, it's not going to grow overnight, it's just one of those things, there's no miracle cure for it, and I guess that's how you know That this video is not sponsored because I'm not Hawking some product or anything like that. It'S ever gon na promise to grow your hair miracle II overnight. So what I'm gon na do is run through the things that I do and don't do that. I believe it's. What keeps my hair healthy and keeps it growing so long, and I think the biggest one is that I'm really not damaging my hair, like hardly at all we're all going to get environmental damage. I do swim. I love to be outside, so I am getting that, but I don't color my hair. This is my natural hair color, so I'm not putting any developer bleaches colors anything like that on it ever so, if not coloring. Your hair was hard enough. This next one's probably going to be harder, and that is that I don't put heat tools on it. Barely at all, I do not curl straight and blow dry out and do any of that stuff on a regular basis. I let my hair air dry every single time I wash it and I only heat style it for very special occasions. I mean it maybe two times a month maximum, I'm talking max it's typically once a month or none at all and honestly. This is something you'll learn, as your hair does get longer. It'S just a pain in the butt to heat styling, and you just just want to give up. It'S not worth it. It literally takes just as long to blow-dry this hair from soaking wet as air drying. Does so what's the point, why would I want to damage my hair and deal with all that and get my arms so sore? If I can just let it air dry on its own, I swear to god. I only wash my hair once a week. I promise you once a week. This is day 2. I wash my hair every Friday night. I know I'm a big deal have a very active social life. I wash my hair on Friday nights. I do, though, and I guess I'm getting old it's just honestly. After a long week at work, Saturday, nights are my fun nights, Friday nights or my like drag my ass home from work. Take a long relaxing, that's like my spawn and I wash my hair. I do a mask. I exfoliate, like that's my night and I just lay around and enjoy myself and rest of so I wash my hair once a week on Fridays. I honestly think it's something your hair gets used to. If you wash it every day, it will be oily every day. So you got to kind of stretch it out and I did start gradually. Basically, I just kind of quit washing my hair so often - and I realized I really didn't need to, and so I'm now committed to just washing it once a week, also because I'm only washing once a week, I'd deep condition. Every single time that I wash my hair, I use like a heavy-duty extra, repairing, very, very moisturizing, deep conditioner mask or even just a regular conditioner as long as it's very, very rich, and I put that from root to tip definitely concentrating more on the ends than My roots, but I do put a little bit of conditioner up here on my roots as well, and I do that. Like first thing, when I get in the shower after washing and I've put it up in a bun and let that really soak in for the remainder of that long, like exfoliating shave and doing everything. So it's in there for probably a good like 20 minutes. At least, and then I rinse it out with like a cool rinse, not like freezing as cold, but like a nice cool rinse to really seal in that conditioner for products. I don't use like a large variety or different types, different categories of products. I don't have a lot underneath my cabinet, or in my shower just a very basic, shampoo and conditioner. I am a believer in the drugstore. I have tried high-end shampoos and all types of hair products. I don't see that they're any better than like my good old drugstore standbys that I like grew up on and then other than that I really only use one other product and that's like a smoothing oil or like a penetrating oil. You know I'm talking about like a split ends, smoother just kind of like daily oil treatment, and I use that on a twice daily basis and the mornings before work. You know I pull my hair out of a bun and then I work that into the ends and then brush through and go to work. That'S pretty much. The extent of my styling maybe put it up in a ponytail, it's like really hot or a bun, or something like that, and then at night I poured more out use a little bit more really saturate the ends of my hair with that real nourishing oil brush Through it put it up in a bun and go to bed so that really soaks in overnight, so for haircuts, trims, etc. I actually get a lot of questions about that like when I first meet someone. That'S always like their first question. Do you ever cut your hair like well yeah? I need trims and stuff like that. But no do I cut inches off? No, I don't. I know we have always heard just religiously every six weeks get your butt in that salon. Chair get a trim. You want your hair to grow every six weeks. I don't. Personally, I probably get like four haircuts a year and that's probably it maybe three to four just depending on how they fall other than that just be prepared for a whole host of other problems. That comes along with having very long hair. It is incredibly hot under all this, like your neck, just it gets hot under here pretty much all summer, like I said, I live in Texas, it gets hot. I am my hair is in a bun or a ponytail. I can't stand it down like this down on my back when it's like 104 outside be prepared to shut your hair into all kinds of doors and windows and cars, and all that, like can't, tell you how many times I've noticed you know. Half my hair is like blowing in the breeze down the freeway. My hair actually hurts sometimes. I know it sounds crazy, and people think that I have just gone nuts when I say that, but it does actually hurt when it has this much weight on it. And it's specifically like this one spot back here, and I think I just have a cowlick right here and so the hair wants to grow the other way and this all this weight just pulling on it really make your scalp sore so try to like rub it And pat on it, it does like it actually hurts. Sometimes. I know it's just like absolutely crazy, but if you have long hair, tell me if you experience that too, it does hurt like it's like an achy kind of bruise feeling, but other than that. Just thank you guys for watching. I really appreciate it I'll see you all in a couple of days in my next video and remember until then that it is perfectly okay to just be small town famous love, y'all, bye,

Briana Whittaker: I haven't straightened my hair in four months and twenty two days and I don't dye it or bleach it and I cut the ends when they get split. I'm proud of how far i've come from being addicted to the straightener and setting a goal of going without heat and part of it is bc of videos like this. Thank u for making this video it's inspiring and very real bc you don't just tell ppl what they wanna hear. Thank u again for being an inspiration.

Sarah Melissa: I used to wash my hair every 2-3 days and about 2 years ago I started washing my hair once a week as well and let it air dry. I only use heat for special occasions or if I'm in an extreme hurry for a good reason and I've noticed that my hair has started getting longer! My hair length stayed at my bra band for the longest time until I changed to my new routine and now about a year and a half later, it's all the way down to my lower back. And I've caught my hair in car doors several times

ShanDomi: Your butt length hair is so pretty! I used to wash my hair once a week but I can't stretch my washes out that long. Because, if I do I start to notice a lot of hair breakage or shedding from not keeping it clean everyday. Or, every other day. My hair grows a lot better when it's clean.

True and Lovely Co.: SO jealous of your hair! I just chopped mine off. I have no problem growing my hair, but managing long hair is so tough for me. It always ends up in a pony tail so I just cut it lol

Courtney K: I wash my hair about twice a week, and that works great for me! Your hair really does get used to it. I'm very attached to my hair, too haha. Thanks for sharing your healthy hair tips!!

bihbhkjbnlk: I refuse to believe my hair won’t grow past waist length I’ve been trying to get it to butt length forever lol, and I will get there! One section is just about tailbone length so I have hope!

Hufflypuffythegreat: I used to have belly button length hair. I'm growing it out again but about 5 years ago I lobbed it all off into a bob. I have very thick hair so I used to get headaches if I had my hair up all day and my scalp hurts. I know the feel. Even my hair now (around bra strap length) hurts my scalp.

Margaretka92: I've grown my hair out to mid-back after a period of short bob hairstyles and I love it. Now it's a lot, because it's gotten thicker and heavier, but I would not cut it an inch! It gave me so much power that I was able to grow it out, because I was battling hair loss due to medication for many years and when it got past my shoulder blades I was extatic :)

Janis Scobee: I've had long hair for many years but just recently cut it off. I'm so glad I did! My hair is super thick & I was having headaches and soreness like you describe. I started with cutting long layers & that helped and looked great but I was ready for a change. When my hair gets too long, I think it makes my face look harsh.

s3rvana: I have extremely thick hair that at its longest is hip length (I always cut it to my waist when it gets this long) but I don't get hair pains unless I put it up. Even when it's hot I'll never put it up because it just gets too sore. My hair only wants to be free, haha.

Kaycie Chambers: " Pretty much down to my asscrack" I wasn't expecting that out of her innocent looking self lol

Nicki: Yes it depends on your genetics like you said! i wash my hair probably nearly every day and dye it every 3 months it still grows so fast and if i don't feel like having long hair i get it cut off. But i don't use straighteners or hair dryers either because i couldn't be bothered. i think the heat damage and bleach is probably the worst thing for hair.

Shaniafan1: I shaved my hair February 2019 because it was bleached and unhealthy. It was BSL and I chopped it off, went to a moe hawk then shaved it off. A year later (almost) my hair is ear length. I think by the end of the year my hair will sit on my shoulders and by the end of 2022 my hair should be my goal length. Which is waist length. Maybe the long term goal should be hip length. . I wash my hair 2-3 times a week I’m going to reduce that to hopefully once a week. I also do a mask once a week and I leave it in all night. I take hair vitamins too. I use Bondi boost. Works wonders, thanks for these tips. . I did have really long hair when I was about 7. Had to cut it because of head lice :( never grown it out since.

Kelly Mares: I get you, my hair hurts sometimes too. I do a lot of the same things and it does keep the hair super healthy and shiny.

melbell713: I wish I could have hair like this (maybe not quite as long though). I have fine hair that's prone to frizz so unfortunately my hair looks like shit if I don't blow dry it. I love that you mentioned genetics cause it's true and not everyone believes it. At my hair's longest it was just before bra strap length and I swear it couldn't grow anymore. It would just start breaking off. Luckily for me since my hair doesn't grow very long it actually looks better shoulder length on me. I do wear extentions from time to time when I want to rock it longer. You're so lucky to be blessed with gorgeous hair.

Andria Michelle: I have curly hair and I used to keep it long.. almost to my hips and yes my head would hurt from the weight of it. Especially during the summer when you're in the water a lot and it has more weight to it

Caoimhe Ní Mhuireadhaigh: I wash my hair every fourth to fifth day... more out of laziness than anything else!

Alaine Underhill: My hair is only around bra strap length right now but it's been as long as mid-thigh. And yes, I got the scalp ache! RIght in the same place, and I do have a cowlick on the back of my head.

Grace Palomino: lol youre nottt crazyyy my scalp hurts sometimes too! ❤️ You’re beaitiful girll! keep up thair hair growing!

Renee Fornelli: My hair hurts sometimes, too! I totally understand what you are talking about!!!

Domi G: I wash my hair 2 times per werk but when I was younger I could wash it once a week. I sweat when I exercise then I need to wash it. Air dry it everytime, usually before bedtime so it dries during the night. I cut it twice yearly and some hairdressers have told me that how often you have to cut your hair really depend on your hair quality. I can cut it once yearly but it becomes so heavy that it is difficult to put up with. I'm tall and my hair reaches halfway down my back, wavy and there is a lot of it! If I want to curl it, it would take 2 hours straight of hard work, no joke. My scalp hurts too sometimes. Sometimes, in the back of my head, in the area you showed, and sometimes in the front when I let it out after I have had my hair in a tight bun for a long time.

Kim Basciano: I love your hair! I have super curly hair and I get keratin treatment done on it. Love your videos- Hope you're having a nice weekend! ❤️❤️

moonandback: Relate to that headache part a lot. I had hair till my butt, and got so sick of the constant weight that I went and got a pixie cut. Now after months of having short hair kind of missing my long hair.

Susan's Faves: I understand that "hair hurt" feeling but mine isn't even long right now. Four years ago I cut off over a foot of hair. It was so heavy, hot, my head would ache from the heaviness. It had gone quite gray too so I thought it was time. I donated it to a local charity that provides free wigs to children who need them due to cancer (and possibly other medical conditions.) I am over 50 so I have a nice chunk of gray. It's cheaper, faster, and LOTS easier having those grays covered with shorter hair. Currently it's in an inverted Bob and I love it. Additionally, I only wash mine once a week too. It doesn't get greasy at all. Not even with the hair products I use. Yours is beautiful. I'd get it trimmed straight across though because the OCD in me couldn't handle it being uneven in the back!! LOL

Marlynna Hoke: my hair is almost that same length as well. I can confirm. My hair hurts all the time, I finally bought a French twist comb and an elastic across the bridge, it has been a lifesaver! I'm not kidding, it doesn't HURT so bad! and also I cannot get my hair to hold any kind of style, I assume its the weight.

Michelle C: I have a hard time staying away from the hair dryer during the winter (Cleveland). I get cold waiting for my hair to dry.

Anthony Thompson: Your hair is awesome - thanks for sharing!

Michelle V: I was mesmerized by how perfect your hairline looks!!!

dani4kdot: *READ* So, I've always had long hair in my life. Up to my butt and I loved it but it was so boring having the same hair for years. So recently, Ive decided to cut it really short and I did. I cut it above my shoulders. Its really short now. BUT. I do regret it a little bit. I regret cutting it and I hope it grows back.

Ivana perez: yes!!! my hair hurts! once my hair starts hurting thats when i know its time to wash my hair

Hilda Lopez: I have long hair and can definitely relate to the pain, but I mostly feel it when I've been wearing my hair in a high bun. Maybe try wearing your hair in a braid ?

Sarah Melissa: I used to wash my hair every 2-3 days and about 2 years ago I started washing my hair once a week as well and let it air dry. I only use heat for special occasions or if I'm in an extreme hurry for a good reason and I've noticed that my hair has started getting longer! My hair length stayed at my bra band for the longest time until I changed to my new routine and now about a year and a half later, it's all the way down to my lower back. And I've caught my hair in car doors several times

M Brigid P: I used to wash my hair only once a week, but every Sunday and Wednesday works for me. I also color my hair(black, low volume developer, naturally blonde) but other than that I treat it like fragile lace

dublin62505: Can't even concentrate on your hair because your dog is so cute!!

Traysee: I wash my hair 1-2 times a week. I also get that ache from my hair being so long.

jolteon43: Amazing hair my dear! I rarely shampoo as well, like once every 5-6 weeks and the hair appreciates it.

Jett Wright: I have a question I have curly hair I'm a boy and I'm Asian black and a little white and when I shower I put almond in my hair when it's wet I then quickly dry off and lay on my hair on a silk pillow and basically stretch it out so it drys wavy I wonder if it damages my hair but the waves last 3 days then I shower again so I wash my hair 2 times a week and I just want to know does this damage my hair by me lying on it and basically letting it dry under body pressure? (It takes 3-4 hours to dry so I lay on it for that long.) should I continue doing this or let it go curly it's at shoulder length but I have an undercut so if I had the back or sides it would be at my back...

Katherine Brenner: Your hair is the same length as a girl that used to be in my ninth grade history class- all those years ago! She had beautiful butt length blonde hair she looked like a real life Barbie doll I am not even kidding you! I enjoyed watching as always :) My hair is like bra strap length right now- roughly half way down my back. I donated my hair a few years ago and maintained that hair cut for like a year or a year and a half so I had like a bob haircut for a while it was cute but I don't go and get my hair cut often enough to maintain that. A lot of people who haven't seen me recently have commented how long my hair has gotten and asked if I am trying to grow it out. And I say no, I'm not trying to grow it, I am just too darn lazy to get it cut... Lol. My last haircut was in March during spring break. And to be honest, I probably won't cut it again until after Christmas or in January or something. You are good for getting 4 haircuts a year! I am lucky if I get myself to go in for 2 haha!! I don't think most people listen to that "you need a haircut every 6 weeks" crap. You just don't!

Jillian Jacques: if you cut your hair more frequently you'd probably get a few inches longer. You have visually a lot of breakage in the bottom 6". I'm not saying cut off all of your progress, but never cutting your hair method, or even micro trims don't keep your healthy enough to see what genetically you'd be able to achieve.

Happy cat: I'm jealous of your hair!-mine is just as long as yours but thinner

Savannah Pena: do you rinse your hair out without shampoo threwout the week or do you tie it out the way so that it won't get wet

Stacy Erazo: What oil do you use?

jess: Aww your doggy is adorable:3 btw love the vid!!! Thank you

kimcaakes: HELP!! I cut my hair and have been doing all these tips for a little over 2 months now and even taking biotin supplements to try and speed up hair growth and it has grown like 3 inches in 8 1/2 month...anyone know why my hair is not growing? maybe I am being impatient...any tips?

Lady Ligia: lol! awesome video! i want longer hair and do most of what you said.but my second day curls suck so bad i have to wash daily--grr so bad

Changhai Gu: hi! my hair is 1 feet long , how many days can it grow up to my hip

*☘︎︎Shark Club☘︎︎*: Wait your amazing I also have 3 feet of hair and I’m sick of those people saying “someday ur gonna cut it” like shut up Karen

Margaret Chabot: Your hair is just beautiful I've never had long hair

Through the Telescope!: I LOVE your hair!

Jef Larremore: Do you ever braid your hair, why or why not?

JS: I wash my hair once a week. Sometimes twice.

Lexie S: Everyone is wishing their hair would grow more when it’s at their bra strap and I’m just sitting here with hair thats like 4 inches above my bra strap just wishing my hair would grow as fast as my leg hair does. I don’t use heat on my hair or use products that damage my hair and I wash it every other day because my hair gets VERY oily I’ve tried going a longer period of time but it’s too oily after 3 days. I did dye my hair and bleach it once but I’ve been very gentle with my hair since then. But seriously WHY DOES MY LEG HAIR GROW 1000000000000000000000000000000 TIMES FASTER THAN MY HAIR. A girl can dream.

toshi vashistha: Yes hair hurts if you keep it in same hair style for too many days and if it is dirty. Hurts like hell

Samson Pavlov: What do you think about not using shampoos? I heard people using baking soda along with apple cider vinegar. I didn't cut my hair for about 18 months, and I'd like to grow it until it reaches my heels. Yes, you read that right. And I'm pretty tall. Maybe grow dreads... we'll see. Oh, Your hair is beautiful! Take care. Peace

Alex H: This was really interesting to me. Washing less often is definitely a good thing - shampoo companies have convinced everyone they need to wash every day, just so they can make more money. I have to ask: Would you consider cutting your hair to donate it? I know you're deeply attached to your hair and have put a lot of work into it, but maybe donating it to someone who can't grow beautiful locks like yours would be a fulfilling experience in a different kind of way. Just a thought! :D Love your videos!

ur mom 👍: My hair is already 2ft something. I've been growing it for less than a year.

Anna Shan: love your eye makeup!

Zoha Tajik: i have long hair and god it hurts sometimes. i hear you girl

Cardela Cardela: Liked your video hair looks good.

Vegito Blue: omg i love your hair❤❤

Anamika Gupta: I am shocked to hear that u apply conditioner from roots to tips... As I believe it isn't the ryt way though... Still u have bful hair❤️

시린: I have those achy hair pains sometimes

narinder kaur: I have long hair and yes it does hurt.

nemo: im like 2 inches from tailbone :( i want butt length!! I did a horrible thing last summer i straightened my hair everyweek for 6 months straight. My hair grew so little...No more heat for me

Sidney Siren: its so true. hair absolutely does hurt

Feneti Yusuf: Thank you

vorkutyanka: Yep, it hurts, and at the exact same spot as yours.

Lalita Bertram: My scalp hurts too but I dont have long hair! haha

Cardela Cardela: My hair hurts too. I kn exactly what u saying.

Seven Ellen: I just came to this video from watching Georgette from Oliver is Company singing "Perfect isn't Easy", and there's a white, pampered poodle in this video!

hcolumbia: short hair for life!

checkman: You have a half Southern/half Californian kind of accent. Interesting!

Avery Adams: My head hurts too!!

Breanns Life: I'm Dying my Hair Today Dark Brown I notice when my Hair is Darker or it Grows Longer maybe becuz its Darker its note Healthier when its Lighter its More Damager I Gusse its werid to me it grows Longer when its Darker

Angel 201: my hair hurt when it was that long too

lilsquirrely: my hair would never grow past my butt either :(

Dandy’s Dynasty: YAS MAH MOM GIVES HEAVY BUNSSSSSSS

FRANCINE VARGAS ABM 12-JADE: What about my hair I always wash it becoz its super hot and my hair is wavy

Aeryn Kok: I also wash my hair 1 a week

teddy: by wash you mean using shampoo right?

Debmalya Ray: Did you finally cut it?

Seven Ellen: 2:25 "Mirically?" It's "Miraculously"! Ha ha!

Lauri Tropea: Odd, I got this in my notifications, but the actual video didn't show up in my feed??

Brandi: Is your dog a poodle or bichon?

Azla: same as other videos on tips of growing hair btw i am not a hater but i am tired of hearing the same thing all the time

Mariyah Spears: she looks like Miranda may

David Miyahara: Damed is not hot water but cold

Jenn: I just can't get on board with not washing my hair every day. Sometimes I'll skip a day and it gets so oily. I know that would change as I retrain my hair but just in a day the oils from my scalp even make my face more oily. I've used dry shampoo and it makes my hair heavy and gross feeling. I just can't deal. I've also encountered people who say they only wash their hair once or twice a week and they literally smell like dirty scalp. I know that's not the case for everyone as there are probably way more people I encounter who smell just fine and I don't know they haven't washed their hair but it always crosses my mind when I think about skipping a day. lol
