What'S up youtube today, we're going to be doing a video on mommy what we got ta do my hair. Your hair needs a cut. Well, yeah! Let'S get it done, we got. I got school tomorrow. What did they take over tuesday? Well, let's take over wednesday. I guess well, i guess i guess we're going to be doing a video on his hair. Let'S go let's, let's go needs a bit of a haircut because yeah so before we get into his haircut, i got my handy-dandy tool someone. He should be scared of that right and he has not had his hair done since his last video, which was about three weeks ago, so we are completely matted and tangled. So what i'm going to do before we get this video started? Is i'm going to take him and shampoo deep condition and get his hair ready um for us? When we cut hair, we either cut it completely, wet or completely dry, and since i have to wet it anyway, i'm going to cut his hair completely wet and we're going to get into a style, simple, two braids and that's it yeah. So we're gon na get a cut, we're getting two braids as a style and we will be right back ready to go okay, so we're back and i'm just making sure his hair is completely detangled to make my process easier. So i'm just making sure his hair is completely detangled so that this will be a seamless process. I am going to actually show you what his hair and the length looks like while he's standing up, so you can get an idea of this cut that he's about to get and i'll explain everything as i go and i'm going to show as much as of The process as humanly possible so from here, let's just see if we can get a look at how long his hair is so this is his hair right now and his hair is, is a little bit past his butt, but at the end i mean i just The damage is just like real, so we can't have all of this damage. We'Re gon na have to cut it and get it back to a healthier state. Like i said, lakai is my rough child. He is my football player, my basketball player, the one, that's always on the ground upside down on his head everywhere, yeah, not upside down. You are in the chairs, you sleep upside down when you're getting that he's everywhere. So with that said, we are putting a hold on my hair and i'm gon na do my hair afterwards. As a reminder, he needs his hair done for school tomorrow and we can't just let it go so so we're gon na get started by basically deciding on how this cut is going to lay - and i do that by parting, his hair into four sections, and then I'M going to subsection it into quadrants so that i kind of know where i'm going to do this cut, so it's gon na be self-explanatory as i go, but i just like to stay organized because this is a lot of hair. Okay, we are. We are past. Our butt - this is actually past hip length and i think the title is going to say something about hip length, but we are actually past hip length right now, so um we are in a whole nother area, like my hair. His hair is shorter in the front than in the back. It'S just not as short. So, as i separate like i said, it'll be self-explanatory as i do this, everything has to be detangled and everything for us see. This is how you know your hair needs. A cut is when you can't look at that. You can't pull through it, but look how much hair that's another five inches right there that you can't pull through. So it's about getting his hair to a healthier state, and this is what we have to do so haircuts are mandatory. We do them twice a year, but this is going to be a bit more major than any of our other cuts. Bear with me, as i kind of just comb through his hair, should be music playing right now, so it should be boring now his hair is completely separated and i am going to go ahead and start on this side. It'S not my intention but um. His hair is completely separated into the four sections now i'm gon na sub section and we're gon na start cutting okay, just kind of smoothing out everything and turn this way so that people can see here's my subsection - and this is where we're going to start cutting At is this now give me one moment, so he can slide his chair up, so you can actually see because his hair is too long to fit on the screen. Now out of this, we're probably going to cut off quite a few inches, so so stay tuned. So we can get this cut. I'M gon na ask you lakay to be still. You can't look at the camera, because this is your hair involved. Okay, you're, breathing heavy you've done this before son, so watch the curls drop. Now that was about three inches back here. Yeah - and that looks good, so it looks like about three inches - will be cut in this part of the back of his hair. We'Re going to do about three inches. I know closer to the the middle of his hair. We'Re gon na go into five or six inches, maybe even seven. I really don't care about his hair being perfectly. Even so. I'M okay with how his hair is in whatever section it's in so here's our next section, oh and this one we're gon na do about four inches and let's see if i can get you to actually see what i could so this is what i'm cutting. We are up close and personal. You cannot look at the camera up close and personal right now. This is a little bit harder than it looks to do on camera. Okay, so we're going to cut off about this much. So that's about four inches right yeah! It'S gon na be about four inches is what we're cutting this makes a perfect cut every time. There is no question in whether or not you cut it or not. So that's how we do it and i want you to take a look at his curls. So you can see what they look like so for this you can kind of. You can see how the curls are perfectly uniform. Now now it's not like longer curls than others. His hair is completely perfectly cut and we we cut off we cut off about. It. Looks like it's about six inches: it's not nowhere near his butt, we'll see when we get finished so you'll be able to see how much we actually cut right. So let me get you back where you can be comfortable and watch this happen for me um. I would say that it is easy to use my clippers to cut because it's a straight cut and you can't go wrong again. I either cut hair, completely wet or completely dry with his hair because of the curls i do like to cut it completely wet. I am not worried about it being even or anything like that yeah. I definitely had to speed it up a bit because it is a process and i wanted to make sure we got it all done in a timely manner. And here you go okay, so we're back, and this is how much we have cut off his hair. So that is a huge large amount of hair. I think the longest part we cut was in the back of his crown right here, and it was about seven inches that we had to cut seven eighths. What was it? I think i don't know okay, so about eight inches off the top, which is right here, which is now not long as the rest of it um it's a substantial difference, so we are going to just get through it now and he's not very happy that he Lost that much hair, but we're just gon na get through it and we're gon na do his quick signature style. So we're doing two idiom braids, which he hates for me to call it that, but that's what it is um. So we are going to go ahead and make these braids happen and you can kind of see how much hair he lost. Imma get him to stand up before we braid it. So you can see how short it is, but we are. We are no longer past our butt, we're probably right at hip length if we're that long, but um, he had a lot of damage in the front right here. So, as you can see, his front is short, whereas it came all the way down to his navel earlier, so i'm going to get him to stand up and we're going to do a lymph check again. So you can see how long it is and we how much we cut. So, let's look at this, so here we are with this hair. You can tell it's a lot healthier now, there's no straggly ends and we are resting comfortably step forward step. All the way forward, we are resting comfortably at the bottom of his back before we got to his butt. So we're about minus six inches literally about minus six inches is what it looks like, but let's go ahead and get into the style. It should not take long so here we go. The first thing i'm gon na do is i'm gon na put some shea butter with shea butter on his hair, especially on his end, so we can try to protect those, so we don't have the same incident occurring. We won't have to cut another eight six to eight inches and we get that in comb it through really quickly. The next thing i'm gon na do is i'm taking shine and jam and i'm gon na correct his part by simply putting it on there. Last but not least, i am going to add with my extreme and i'm just going to pull it through his curls aka. The wet wine skittles. Yes, this is the one that says it smells like skittles, so we are just going to pull it through his curls and now that we got it, those curls i'm going to take the brush and brush it through. So these braids actually are in real time it takes about a minute and 20 seconds per braid, and i get them done very quickly so watch and see how it goes. This is real time braiding. So we're going to be a little magical here. I really think it's funny how he doesn't take his eyes off the camera he's so cute. I promise y'all, i break really tight, but he doesn't switch ever. It never seems to bother him. The wetland extreme is going to really hold his hair in place, and i don't have to worry about flyaways throughout the duration of the week. It will last tilt your head over forward. Yes, you love them. Why? Because um they're really easy to do. I look good, though you got ta, make sure that's good and your brains. Yes, this is real time. We did not speed this up really fast, so we are done with his hair. Each braid takes about one minute 20 seconds. You can rewind it and watch it and see, but we are completely done with his hair. As you can see, we have two braids turn around, so you can see how long they are. You may have to stand up still. So that's how long his braids are. They come to about a bra, strap length if he had on a bra, um, yeah and he's about eight inches from his hip in braids, but he's right on top of his hip out of braids. You'Ll. Also note that one is longer than the other because he sleeps on one side and that side was more damaged than the other, but i think we are good his braids look good.
