Hey guys, it's your girl tina here. Welcome back to a new episode of tina, tries it in today's episode. I will be attempting to cut my own curtain bangs. Okay. Now, if you guys watch my previous bang video, i did cut my own bangs. More of like a korean bang style and that turned out pretty well, so i felt pretty confident about cutting my own curtain bangs and after searching on youtube. I did find a really good tutorial from brad mondo, who uploaded a hairdresser's guide to cutting your own curtain. Bangs, so that's the tutorial i'm going to follow today. I want to cut like a bang, that's a little bit thicker and then something that can kind of like frame my face because, as you guys can see, i'm quite boring at the moment. This is just this. Is it this is my hair, so, according to brad's guide, i need some hair cutting scissors, not kitchen scissors. He specifically said no kitchen scissors, something that actually cuts your hair, not kitchen scissors, and then i need some clips to clip my hair back home. I only have like a wide tooth comb. I hope that's. Okay, i'm gon na need to wet my hair, so i need like a bottle of water or you know you can just go wet your hair in the bathroom and then like a hair dryer and a round brush. So let's get started so step. One is gon na be to have wet hair you're gon na want that to not be dry, so i'm gon na just dampen up this front section with some water. Oh, my god, i should have like done my makeup on okay, so step one wet the hair dampen it because that's going to weigh it down and kind of like straighten everything, especially if you have frizzy hair. I don't know how much it is to wet. Maybe more, do you think more? I don't know she's gon na wet the whole front section. Keep watching our hair in front of our face. Just like this. The next step is to do a middle part. Everybody loves a good middle part these days. We all know those are also very trendy. Apparently, if you do a side part you're ugly, i mean i do enjoy a good middle part. I do, but you know sometimes side parts can look fun and cute we're part in the middle. I hope i haven't lost. You quite yet we're gon na take the bangs back about two or three inches up to you, depending on how thick you want them and, depending on how thin your hair is. Naturally, i'm gon na go about two inches back and i'm going to take these down to about the end of her eyebrow. Okay. So for this i don't know if i'm gon na go that thick like he said like to the ends of the eye, i cannot see any actual mirror. Okay. So now i need to figure out how thick i want my bangs. He suggested like at the end of the brow, so let's just see what that looks like, but i think i need to grab more. I'M gon na aim for like a medium ish thickness. Why does this side look so thick compared to this side? Okay, i'm not gon na go as far as the end of my brow, i'm gon na go like the like the middle of my brow, depending on your face shape. That might be the middle of your eyebrow, maybe the end of your eyebrow. If i only went to the middle of her eyebrow it'd be a very thin bang. Okay, that's fine! If you want a very thin one go for it, so you should have this little triangle section right here and we're gon na clip the rest of the hair out of the way just like that, all right or you can just take off all the hair into A ponytail, that's also fine, i think that's the ring finger and the thumb we are going to close. You cut what nicely okay he's holding his scissors like this. What i don't feel comfortable cutting like this, i feel like i can't control anything so we're gon na hold our scissors like this. So the third finger right here, i think that's the ring finger and the thumb we are gon na comb. This section - oh, i usually just hold it like like this - is my middle. We are actually gon na. Take this entire section in one now. Normally i wouldn't do that, but we're trying to make this easy for you guys. Okay, then you're gon na decide what length you want to cut. Normally i like to go right under the cheekbones for the curtain. Bangs, that's usually a good height to start with. You can always go shorter. You can't go longer all right, so i'm going to start off a little bit longer than that. Maybe right at the nose and i am going to cut across. I just made that first little snippy snip i'm gon na. Let that go! I'M gon na re-comb it and i am going to cut another okay, so i need to figure out how how short i want my bangs. I think i wanna like a little bit longer because, like he said you can go shorter, you can't go longer. So i think i'm going to maybe just where my my top lip is we're gon na snip. This is the thickest bang. I'Ve ever cut. Okay, first snip we're on a roll. Now it just feels so weird cutting with my like cutting holding the scissors like this. Oh, my god, that's a lot of length. I just cut off shoot alfred, warned me not to come home with an abomination, so i'm gon na try my best to cut something decent for our relationship's sake. Oh my gosh, all that hair well. This is not very straight, so let me just fix this. The problem is like. I need like a mirror. That'S just the front on you know what i mean, because i'm looking down at the moment and it's cramping my style. It just went into my eye how my own hair attacked me wet it. Does that even look straight, i'm not gon na lie. I'M kind of like half regretting this. This is this is a bit chunky. Okay, let's keep going. Let'S keep going, i feel like. I have a hair in my eye. Like i kid you not one of my hairs. Just like stabbed me in my eyeball. It was like the universe telling me to stop. Oh yeah, i see it. Oh i got it. Damn. Hair was in my eye and i'm gon na take a strand from each end and just make sure that they are the same exact length on both sides. They look great and if they weren't great, we would just do a little snip snip snip, okay. So i'm just gon na check my work to see if it's like, even oh, my god kind of tissue, my nose is leaking. My body is just rejecting this. It is rejecting these curtain bangs, like everything, it's it's trying to pull all the tricks to stop me, but i'm unstoppable. Okay, i want a mission. I need to make sure this is even okay. Let'S just say it is even now you're doing a great job. I can see you following along, and i am so damn proud of you. You did it. You did your first snip, it's gon na be a home run. Okay for both of us, it's gon na look beautiful all right. So now we have our bang. Oh and add okay, at least it gives me time so we're gon na part. The hair then we're gon na over direct the hair across the other side, opposite of where the part is we're also going to make sure our fingers are parallel to the section up here so now, you're getting this moment, let me show you that again pick up The hair i comb it parallel to the parting, and then i hold my fingers parallel to the parting, so you're gon na get something like that. He splits the hair back into the two sections, and now he combs this section across like this, and i'm supposed to hold it like like that in between my fingers. It goes from short to long, and now all we have to do is cut off those longer pieces. Let'S do this, so i'm gon na hold it across and then chop. How do i feel more comfortable kind of going like this chops? Oh, that is looking choppy hello. Okay, do you guys see how this is just like straight across and then i just like kind of lay it look at that? How am i gon na get it the same on the other side? That'S the question, as you can tell it's a lot of pressure, this side, i'm quite happy with: let's just try to replicate it on this side, so again kind of brushing it over or combing it over. I cannot hold my scissors like this, so bad i tried. Did it work? Okay, i mean this side is a little bit shorter than this side. I'M gon na fix that we're gon na get a beautiful angle to the fringe. Gosh, it's beautiful mine does not look that beautiful and then the two end pieces and make sure they are the same length. Okay, so i just got to double check my work again. Grab the two end pieces bring them together. I'M just gon na snip a little bit. I guess it looks kind of even i'm kind of freestyling this bit. Brad didn't tell me to do this part, so i'm just just following my instincts, so i'm kind of getting like this like triangle in the middle, and i think that's what we want now that we have that part done the biggest most dramatic part of all. I am now gon na just blow dry, her hair, for you get it all nice and cute and then we're gon na go in and detail the bangs okay. So i'm just going to style the rest of my hair and then we're going to blow dry. This and try to make it look more. Like cotton, bangs, i'm using my new dyson supersonic. I just got this baby and yes, i know i'm a little bit late to the game, but hey better late than never guys. I hate drying my hair. It takes really long and my arms get tired, but with my dyson it literally cuts the drying time in half plus the hair. Dryer itself is much lighter than my old clunky one. So here i'm just using the wide styling concentrated nozzle to smooth out my hair and create a soft curl at the ends, because i'm trying to be fancy so now with this fringe part, it kind of looks thick, but we'll just see how it looks. Once i blow dry, i'm just going to use my round brush and then just like blow dry it and kind of just twist and turn my brush as i dry. But first i just need to make sure it's all going straight because i did have a center part. So let's just blow dry it downwards. First, okay! So now i'm gon na go in with my round brush and i'm just doing this on medium heat and a medium air pressure. Okay, so that is what it's looking like and then now we're going to just kind of like flip. It flip it and kind of separate this part just where you're going, i just need to powder properly. Okay, it's just very choppy huh. I think i do need to like blend it in with these side bits. What do you guys think like so far? It'S looking good, i think you definitely need to dry your hair with a round brush, because if i left it straight or to air dry, it just wouldn't look as nice. Oh look at that on the side. That looks really good. Okay, i think i just need to blend it in with like the sides now, so it's not so like steppy like choppy. This is like wall one length, i'm freestyling this, because i remember i did this with the other bang. I'M just go. I'M gon na just snip snip snip snip sleep. Oh my god, that's a lot of hair and same for the other side. Ah, this side's always the harder side, because you kind of like go the other way right now, two not gon na lie. I couldn't really see what i was doing just then, but i think it looks okay. This is looking a little chunky here, so i'm just going to what do you call it? I'M just going to hold my scissors like this and then just trim a little bit just to make them a little bit thinner. It'S looking a little bit a bit too heavy just slightly same for this side. Oh my god! That'S a lot of hair! I think i'm gon na go again and just like wet and then just dry it again. So then it has like the side bits. It definitely looks way way better when i blow dry it. It gives me that a little bit of volume up here and then like from the side it kind of just like frames, my face okay. So this is what it looks like. What do you guys think it's definitely a bigger commitment than my previous bangs, my previous bangs? I can kind of like hide it, because it wasn't that thick, but with this this is like. I need a stylus daily to make it look good and i'm not gon na lie it's a little bit annoying already because it's like in my face and i've got lashes on, and so when the when the bangs sort of like hit my lashes, it is a Little bit annoying, but i do like the look you know i do like the look. It'S just gon na get a little bit of like getting used to and i'm so glad i didn't go any shorter than this. So if you guys are going to follow brad's tutorial, make sure you're happy with the length first, because his one is like a little bit short. It kind of hits like just where the eye line is and yeah, because i made mine a little bit longer. It sits probably where the like my cheekbones are. I actually think it looks really good when i tie my hair up because it frames my face. I feel like it looks better when i shag it up, maybe too shaky, but you know honey like shaggy curtain bang. I can't stop playing with it. I don't know. Do i like it, i'm like one moment i like it and then the next minute, when it like changes position, i don't like it so, okay, i'm not gon na touch it anymore. This has a mind of its own. That'S the thing! Okay, let's just okay! Worse comes to us. If i'm not feeling bangs, i guess i can kind of like hide it. Ish! Oh! No! Oh! No. What did i do? What did i do? I can't handle myself right now. I can't okay guys. That was like 10 minutes of me, going through an emotional roller coaster, and i've decided that it's okay there's moments where i love it and then there's moments where i kind of regret even cutting it. But good news, it's gon na grow out. Hair grows, it's not the end of the world. I just have to accept that it has a mind of its own anyways. Overall, the tutorial was actually really easy to follow, though i just don't know if i can pull this off. I think one thing that kind of bothers me is just that: it's just like a lot chunkier than like any bang that i've had before. So it's really just me: i need to get used to it, okay, guys that is it for this episode of tina treiser. Let me know your thoughts below yay to the bangs or nay, to the bangs. I know what alfred's gon na say: i'm gon na definitely hear it when i get home anyways if you're new here make sure you hit subscribe and turn on notifications, so you don't miss out on any future uploads, and i shall speak to you guys next time. Bye, like i like it, but then when it moves, i don't like it. Okay, i like it like this stay like this. What did i just do how to make hair grow? Faster, look! Happy, tina, look like you did the best thing in the world. It'S amazing! I rocker - oh my god, i'm so pretty. Yes, love the bangs amazing best haircut. I'Ve ever had yes, okay, put it out to the universe, and it shall happen. Hopefully do

Tina Yong: This will probably be the last time I cut my own hair

Karoline Hill: Me: reads title Me: Automatically has flashback to every single person I have seen cutting their own bangs

Kushika Gupta: What?! Was this an attempt? It looked super professional

Pebble: Now all we want is to Brad Mondo to react to this. It suits you so much, you nailed it Tina!

Tami: I still have ptsd from attempting to cut my own bangs back in grade 12 right before picture day.

Amrutha B.N: I like it how you went from "I like it" to "what did I do"

Hersher McBUMBUM: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. You're slaying the new look!!!!! Also, I cut my own curtain bangs last week lol, but you did it WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better!

Sue K: OMG you’re so brave to cut your own hair. I just cannot do it!

A dog named Hunter: How is she so good at EVERYTHING!!!!!!! THE BANGS LOOKS SO GOOD TINA

Army Ka mela: I have tried cutting my hair.. C'mon we all get a urge to cut our own hair atleast once..

Katie Petkewich: PSA: When you follow a tutorial, watch the whole thing through first and then go back and follow the video. Not sure if Tina did this or not but everyone should lol

RobynWalter18: They look so pretty on you!! I know the feeling of regretting a haircut immediately afterwards but I find they really suit you, and as you said, hair grows so it’s not permanent anyway!

Nimedhel: Hahaha! The anxiousness during the whole thing. Aw Tina, you were so cute. And it does looks good! And here I am, cuting my own hair with 0 stress, and I remember the first time I cut my own bangs. I hadn't had bangs for more than 10 years, and after watching many YT videos, I was like "Yeah, let's go, and if it doesn't look good, we'll just hide the thing with pins and stuff". I cut long side bangs like the barbarian that I am (longest parts under the nose, shortest under the eyes) and I was shocked at how good it looked on my face.

수정 음악 Chrys: This looks amazing! The bit where you freestyled blending them in, Brad actually did that too. :)

Halie Natividad: You honestly did amazing!! As someone who learned to cut bangs in beauty school and rocked the curtain bangs in 2019 I was scared but then thoroughly impressed! It is definitely a more touchy style tho, as you found out, but don’t worry they grow out more gracefully than any other hair cut!

Kohnain Mehmood: Brad Mondo reacted to THIS VIDEO!!! and he said he loved it!! Yay Tina. Your talent is now officially recognised as amazing!!

MsTeacake1982: Easy everyday styling tip, rather than blow drying is to just stick each side of the curtain fringe in a velcro roller or heated roller, rolled away from your face while you're doing your make up.

Matteo Silver: They turned out so well! Very cute with a ponytail or up-do.

mikaylaoj —: Noooo i promised myself I wouldn’t ever do bangs again they look so cute

Tingting V: You look great, Tina! I love the bangs. I am bias though as I also have bangs and will give them a DIY trim whenever they grow out too much. TIP: use a little mousse pre-blow dry to give the bangs a little hold.

anson chong: I was literally making it also! I didn't know what to do and you taught me just now!

Mai 3: I tried it 2 weeks ago and I honestly love it! Yours look cute

Aimee Crawford: The only time I tried to cut my own bangs they actually turned out okay lmao you did great too

Zaynab Dalal: I cut mine a week ago (they weren’t even blended well lmao) but tbh after about a week it’s grown into itself a little and looks pretty decent

Amber MistALEtoe: I usually cut my own bangs. Last time I gave myself bangs I think I went a little too thick. They don’t look too bad but I feel like there’s just too much. I never thought of using my eyebrows as a guide for thickness. Ya learn something new every day!

Maria Fernanda: i love itttt, it looks so damn good on you Tina

RC: girl, you always do such a awesome job with diy bangs!! i love the way it turned out!

Alice Renovato: TINA: My body is trying to stop me of cutting bangs BUT I'M UNSTOPPABLE I see Tina nothing can stop you when you want to do a thing

Coco C.: It turned out really well, Tina! I personally liked it the first time around where it was still chunky before you freestyled it to your liking. It looks good, but your comment about it being annoying to your lashes is making me rethink doing this myself, because I don't like hair on my face. It would frame my face well, but just worried about maintenance and comfort.

PosiMentalTude: This looks so good on you! I wish I had this video when I had cut my own bangs in high school!

Simple Casual Chic: Soo cute!!! I love how it turned out hahaha I don't think I could do this myself

Supernova: I tried cutting my own bangs last year when I had school from home... It didn't look too bad, my friends said it suited me but next time I'll let a professional do the job lol. You actually did very well and they look great on you! Btw, you really kinda remind me of Tiffany Young with the bangs

Christine Perez: You are really brave Tina!!! You did a great job!!! It’s very cute❤️

Mei Yu Pérez: You look very well with that cut. I think it's pretty. I'm sure if i cut me my own bangs, i wouldn't look well like you

Min ha Yeon: I swear tina does something with her hair and not long later she goes back to "my hair looks boring"

MsTeacake1982: You can use the same technique of over directing your hair forward to each side to cut more defined face framing layers. Helps the curtain fringe blend into the rest of your hair.

Vidya Tripathi: She does everything perfectly ❤️

Abril Pérez: I literally fell in love with that fringe, thanks for the idea girl !!!!

셰이 고메즈: I love your Bangs Tina, they looked cute! your reaction is same as mine when I decided to cut my hair short after growing it for a very long time and yep I told myself many times, it’ll grow girl it will definitely grow

Sophia Z: I've been debating whether to get curtain bangs or see-through bangs for a while! Now I kind of want curtain bangs :0

Poulomi Ganguly: You inspired me massively just now , to cut my own bangs! Yay. It looks fab on you Tina!❤️

Lee Kei: I know, that Alfred hates when Tina has bangs.... But I love it. Love it!

aangelloz Amber: They absolutely look fantastic! Seriously, the bangs are super cute and look great on you!

bianca wu: Huh, what a coincidence- I just got my haircut and asked for curtain bangs but I wasn't happy with them and I've been considered just cutting them myself using Brad Mondo's tute. Tina you're a mind reader

rinzkinz: honestly.... you look good!!! I used to cut my own bangs since high school till 3 years ago. I always had the courage and very positive that it'll turn out great. But in the end, everyone was telling me how bad my fringe/bangs were. HAHAHA so finally 3 years ago i stopped cutting my own fringe cos my bf said its ugly. wtver

Katherine Leyton: Yay to the bangs, I love them on you. They suit you. You just have to get use them. Curtain bangs are usually meant to be a little chunkier then what you’re probably use to. Also love Brad Mondo, you chose a very good tutorial to follow

Jasper: I have been watching you for 5 years now, thank you for bringing me nice and wholesome content!

Jamie Law: They look so good!! I think you'll love them more when they grow a bit longer

Rose Spades: I did the EXACT SAME THING!!! I cut my own curtain bangs with the Brad Mondo tutorial and it was a success

shawtazz: Your hair looks so silky and soft it’s so satisfying watching others blow dry their hair but I hate it on myself because my hair is curly/wavy

Patty Farthing: Tina I really love it!!! It goes with your face shape so well!!! Stop messing with it lol. It looks great!! You look like a model lol

Skipperoni: I really respect how seriously you took the tutorial!

Laura W.: Me a moment ago: i will never cut my bangs again. Never! Me after watching this video: this looks cute. I’m gonna cut my bangs tonight.

Sarah Nicole: Omg I did the exact same thing a couple months ago, brad is the go to

Sarah H: I love it. You look amazing with curtain bangs and you did a great job.

Jennifer Yang: Hahaha you going back and forth on your bangs is soooo me whenever I cut my bangs too I love it one second then hate it the next. Btw, it looks amazing Tina!

체리고은: it’s really nice to see tina wearing the clothes from her haul

Anh Ngo: Thanks sis Tina. Your videos alway been so helpful for me to learn more English and so much fun to watch

Unknown Person: Tina!!! Every time I see you’ve uploaded I do a little happy shimmy . The last time you posted a bangs video, I cut my bangs with you and now that my hair has grown out, I’m thinking of getting curtain bangs too.., wish me luck

Adita Khare: Ah you look pretty Tina!✨ Don't put your efforts to a waste by regretting it....the bangs look AMAZING✨ on you... It definitely is a YAYY!!!❤

Michaela Brown: Looks so cute!!!! You did awesome!!!! Brad will be proud of you!

Mandy Au: Yay to the bangs. I think when you style then blowdry them to the direction you want them to go like how you did with your other hair. If you blow dry them facing the front it will stab your eyes. You can always put a little bit of hairspray or wax to keep them in place like when you had your hair cut in Korea by Jeongeng

Aditi Aniruddha Shukla: The bangs look so damn cute on you Tina! ❤️

Fafsonable: I have curly bangs and accepting the fact that they will have a mind of their own was a necessity for me haha

MARIYA CRISTINA SANTOS: Go Tina! You doing a great job gurl!!

Mocha13ful: For all that it's worth, your bangs look AMAZING on you!!

Piyu Sarkar: You actually did a really good job and it's looking really pretty❤

Vanise McDaniel: You did a good job cutting your bangs. I love them

Bonia: Why are u soo talented love u always stay happy

XiaoOoGwei: that looks really good! :D Can you post an unstyled look? Lol I tend to be lazy and just let my bangs hang. I wonder how they look without the blowdrying

Gayane Khachatryan: The best lesson I've learned half a life ago is - bangs are an additional hassle no girl needs to disturb their comfort over. You did well though. Just fix them with some hair product so they stay the way you like.

Andriana Viegas: It looks soo good I'm gonna try this rn and regret cutting my bangs 10 mins later

lovely lipsticklady: Your bangs look fabulous, and you did an excellent job. You look very pretty! ❤

Sinan: ALL hairdressers are trained to hold scissors using the thumb and ring finger. It feels incredibly unnatural and uncomfortable for me when I've tried it too! I think you've done a great job Tina! My attempt was a complete hash, but you look stunning! Kinda hate you a teeny bit now. ❤

Maggie Carter: You look great! I think changing your hair is always a big step. But!! You’re alive, you’re loved and you’re doing your best to try new things! It can’t be all that bad.

〖Nuℝรe〗®™ ᏑᏌᏂ: Yay I love these and I love Brad Mondo. Notice his personality changes with his hair color I cut my hair during lock down from his tutorial. I love his bleach fails

CryBaby 2000: You’re the best Tina. Love all of your videos ❤️

Lucie DG: You did a good job and it suits you! I got curtain bangs too and tbh they're not that hard to style and keep in shape

Kayla: The bangs actually look so nice and suit you so well! you did a great job

RarelyMarilyn: i also followed the same exact video! although it looks good, i’m still very tempted to cut actual bangs

flgn sngh: I tried cutting my sister's hair using Brad mondo diy haircut and it turned out good. I used a medium sized sharp scissors - not professional ones. It worked!

bub bub: your reaction really is relatable i tried cutting my bangs recently, and it just so frustating to style

火腿肥波波: i can so relate to this exactly me every single time after a haircut

kristin De Leon: No way you did that yourself! That looks professionally made! Brb,cutting my curtain bangs.

Jaya Tiwari: This is a genuine honest video ! Girl making decision to cut her own here and after that regretting for doing it

Dionne Visch: Tina I've got a tip! If you don't want to style it every single morning, just put your bangs into one of those velcro rollers in the evening (pin above your forehead, so you don't feel it when sleeping). In the morning, you can take it out and BOOM instant pretty curtain bangs!

Julia: when it's your first time getting curtain bangs, it's usually best to do them as long as possible, like chin length. Easier to get use to

namjoonsnostrils: Last time Tina and I had our bangs at the same time. This time I was planning to get my bangs for a few days and Tina posts this video. I'll definitely cut my bangs now

Thaiany Romano: I cut my own bangs a few weeks ago following exactly this tutorial! A little shorther, tho... If it's any consolation haha. Next time, I will follow your tutorial following a tutorial haha. Kisses from your girl Thay from Brazil ❤️

Emma Brasseaux: You did great! It looks so cute!!

TAE livision: Yay we need more Tina x Brad content hope you both can collab soon

Hokuspokus: Looks great, very retro cool! I feel tempted to do it too.

Andrea Romero: I cut my own curtains bangs about 3 months ago and I love them

Carly Fischer: I think you did a good job! For styling you should watch the stylist Kayley Melissa's videos about curtain bangs. She had some style struggle but figured it out!

Vonnie: Practice makes perfect. I’ve been cutting my own bangs since secondary school

Trisha Sarkar: This is looking super amazing ❤️
