This video is the third in a 3 part series on wig care instructions. In this series Patti will go in depth on how to care for each of the 3 main fibers of wigs and show you exactly how she cares for her own wigs.

Hi, this is patty from rigs. Buy patties, pearls, you've got this human hair. You saved farm you've saved your money for it and finally bought it and finally got the right coloring. You got everything well now, you've got it. What the heck are your going to do with it when it gets dirty? Remember this is human care, but this is the best human hand you can buy and what you're going to do with it, I'm going to show you now you have to wash it a lot of women will take it to the beauty, shop and say: do it And there are many, many salons that will wash your human hair, wait for you in style. If you don't have that capability in your area, I'm going to show you how we do it, and this is in our Academy, it's written and now you'll have a video and you'll have the written. The first thing I'm going to do is to brush out the wig, and you can use a paddle brush hope I have one or you can use a comb. A wide tooth comb. Always I'll. Tell you this all the time that I'm kind of keep reiterating it. So you'll get it in your head forever and in your heart. I want you to start at the bottom of your wing. Key piece then work your way up. That'S it and a good way is I put my hands in like this. If I'm right him, you put it over your left hand and now you've kind of got control of it, and if I want to, I hold it like that kind of comb it down against my body now, we've got pretty much all of the tangles out. If you need to - and it's still a little tangled go to your detangler for since they care now you're not ever going to use this with hairs, wet you're not going to use it during the shampoo or the setting or anything. But I have found if I have a human hair with that really is you know it's on the verge you're, going to wake heaven and probably should have been there. I'M going to go ahead and use the detangler, because it's very gentle and it will help me, get those tangles out before I wash it because then I don't want when it's wet to even get more tangled. So I just slipped Lee put it on, and then I take my wide tooth comb and look see how it glides right through it doesn't stick on anything. It'S a chip from your old go later honey, and now, when you wash it see that detail is going to come right out and nobody will be the wiser. But you got all the tangles out before you start and trust me: saving get the tangles out before you start, especially with the human hair wig, because it can get real gritty. If you don't now for human hair, what I'm going to use sighs! I have these big bottles because I do. I watch a lot of them, but you can get them small and they come like this in the little 8 ounce bottles and then I'm going to use lukewarm water. I don't use hot boiling water because with it with the product and the lukewarm water are too tepid water or even a little warm it'll work just as well, and it won't hurt not only the fiber but remember we're also talking about the material, the mono top And so forth of the capitally, so let's put a little water in we're playing like in our article, a light Beauty shot, put the little lukewarm to warmish water in and for a medium length. Wig like this, I take one about a quarters worth a little bit. More put it in here, put it in your water, it seems funny because, whenever you've washed your own human hair, when we have here, you know you used to just put it in your hand and start scrubbing. Well, now we're going to put it in the water same things that we did before. Oh, I can see that they're just coming right out of it same thing, we're just going to soak it and remember I told you I'd you like this in the water just kind of blend my hands down, never scrub or twist. I want to be really gentle with this fiber. Remember you saved up your money for this, and if we take care of it properly and use the right products, you can extend the life of this wing for easily a year, I'm not kidding more than it would have. If you just not got anything much to it, okay, so you walk away ten minutes whatever watching my favorite show their comeback, and now it's sitting here and I'm going to take it out and what we're going to do is squeeze gently squeeze always squeeze gently. Now. I'Ve got the excess, shampoo out and water now. What I usually do is, I put it on my hand like this again I go to my tub because if it's long hair it doesn't get all tangled up in the basin and it's got more forceful water to get rid of all the conditioner and wipe it Clean if you'll remember, this is really really important, and I have it underlined in my notes on human care when you put the conditioner on the shampoo or rinsing out when you put the conditioner on you're, also going to rinse it out and remember on the synthetic. It'S a flat surface, so we sprint it with the conditioner. Do not rinse human hair is porous so after it's been washed and everything is clean. Now we're going to put the conditioner on and it's going to grab up this hair will grab up the fiber. What it means, then we're going to rinse the excess conditioner out. That'S the huge difference between the two along with the product that you use. Okay, so here it is now I go here. I mean you, look more water to warm water. All this fight was so pretty. It feels beautiful guys all right now we play like say like say like in our beauty shop: we've done it all rinsed out and now we have a spanking new human hair with, but look again squeeze that's when my arms are so big. I'Ve been squeezing like this for 35 years: okay get squeezed for your fries. Now, I'm just going to tap it dry, just a little bit. You know just kind of like you would draw your own hair just a little bit before you put the conditioner on when you're in the shower all right. Now, we've got it now. I take the luxury conditioner and this is done with argan oil, the shampoo and the conditioner, and it's just fabulous for these wigs. I'M going to take whoop, I'm going to take like a quarter, maybe fifty cents worth that might be a little much and then I'm just going to put it on the rig like this. This is the conditioner. This is the secret babe. This is why it won't tangle. This is why you're going to love it then I take always my big comb start at the bottom. I usually lay it on my granite, countertop or whatever, to wash to get the conditioner through but see how it slides through this hair, because you don't have it so tangled start at the bottom rinse it after you comb it through see how lovely that is. That'S called remy hair guys it is the best human hair. You can buy it's beautiful alright. Now I have to get this out because it'll dry like a gummy mess, so we're going to rinse this condition or out, and then there it's going to be one more step that I want to show you and it's my little trick and you'll be amazed. If you try all right now, it's got the water and it's a little warm and that conditioners just flowing right through. I even get it on the cap. I hope you can see this Sun on the cap so that you'll get the cat free of conditioner. The hair free of the conditioner, except the conditioners at the hair, his Gramp, so after you've rinsed it really well. I usually do it in the tub ice cream. Now, what I'm going to do is squeeze it again, sweet squeeze squeeze, you might have your boyfriend or your son or your husband do all the squeezing, with some great arms squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze squeeze now it's sopping wet, but it's smooth and it feels oh, so Soft here's the secret right now I'm going to take this and squeeze out as much as I can. Then I'm going to lay it on my towel, I'm going to roll it up like that, and when I have a long leg I I sometimes put the towel on the floor and I put the weight along it lit up just like this. Yes, now we've washed it we've drawn: stick we conditioned it, we've combed, it we've rinsed it now, we've tall dried it and it's just a little bit now. If you want your weight to be soft and glorious when it dries. I want you to take your argan oil and I want you to spritz it one two, four, five, six, seven, just a little, not a lot, and I want you to squeeze your hair like this going down. I don't care if it's two feet or if it's two inches squeeze it squeeze it squeeze it squeeze it squeeze it squeeze it squeeze squeeze it now. I turn it inside out being very careful not to get it all tangled and I just fold it like a little package and I let it sit if I have a hair dryer one of the old kind. You know that has a bonnet that comes over it or that has the head that comes down on it and I'll put it on on maybe medium heat. If you have that, and then I put the dryer I'll put this little thing right in the dryer up and let it go first in 10-15 minutes and what you're doing is you're, taking that argan oil and your deep conditioning it with the heat may be those Pores I was telling you about and it lumps into there and it smoothes it it detangles it. It makes it shine and it protects it. You can go for a good month without having to do this way now. So that's my human hair. Now I can put this under my dryer because remember this is human hair. We can do that and I'll, let it dry and then it'll be nice and soft I'll put it on my head or I'll put it on my head or my canvas head and brush it I'll curl. It do just like you want to with regular hair. Remember this is human hair, but it's the best you can dye but have a great day. I

Yvonne J: Patti, you are an inspiration to us all! Thank you for posting the video on human hair care. I have followed it to the letter and my wig looks fabulous.  YOU are absolutely fabulous!  Thanks, again!!!

rhonda moffit: thank you patti! your information really helps me in my new venture of making and taking care of wigs!

Serenity: I'm anxious to take the human hair plunge ... Thanks so much for this very informative video, Patti! Now, when you said "a month", did you mean you don't have to deep condition it for a month, or you don't have to wash it again for a month? I wear my HD Naomi every day and have no idea what to expect with human hair.

Ally Robinson: Hi Patti, thanks for your videos :) love them. Once I've styled the human hair topper (Jon Renau), am I ok to go ahead and restyle it, using hair straighteners, without washing out all the product, after a few days, or would this burn the hair, please if its had hairspray on and argan oil on it? Thank you x

Amanda Henriques: Wondering if you can give some insight on the best way to remove any glue from the lace without damaging it or without drying out / damaging the hair itself???

o3MTA3o: Is there any benefit to ensuring that you don't get conditioner on the cap? It's kind of like wd40 for hair. It could loosen the knots, no?

Duane Brown: I'm going to be lowlighting a Jon Renau topper. I'm assuming I'll shampoo, condition and dry first, but I'm wondering if I should use my clients retouch formula or work a level lighter, since the highlights in the topper are very light. Any info would be appreciated, thanks so much.

Sierra Hascall: Outside of JR products, what kinds of products do you suggest I could purchase in stores (for a Human Hair wig)?

Stella's Mammacita: You are wonderful! Thanks for this video.

Jas Balzan: What was the name of the shampoo, conditioner, and argon oil you used? And how often should you wash a human hair wig if you wear it every day?
