Hey everyone! In this video, I am going to show you how to make yarn wefts for doll wig projects!

Brushed yarn is such an amazing alternative if you don't have easy access to alpaca or other fibers. Its great for beginners too as its cheap and come in many colors! Hope you find this tutorial helpful!

Hi guys Today we will be making yarn wefts For your own easy, peasy wig. Now that you have seen the stuff ya'll need lets start REMEMBER, cut only1 side D, You need alot., Dont worry. It may look unlike weft right now, but it will be magical later. Loop'N' tie round the plasticy mesh thingy, The yarn.. FILL THE LINE D. Now you wan na sort of flaten it and GIVE EM' A BRUSH WITH YOUR COMB OR PET BRUSH start with the bottom Brush. Brush brush, Reuse, recycle Good for the planet. Ya know: Rmember 180 degrees, Slowmo, ), Beutiful, right, Told ya, D, Chop off realllllly close to the knots Dont use, super hlue or hot glue; :3 PEEEEEEEEELLLLLLL And boom Beutifull thanks for watching and stay tooned 3

Dollightful: Oh my gosh!! I had no idea you could do this with yarn. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I cannot wait to try this now!!! So fluffy!!

jodie.: For those without a straightener, or simply looking for silkier, smoother results; use fabric softener or conditioner mixed with boiling hot water! Let it soak for 5 minutes then hang it up to dry. After, brush it using a fine-toothed comb. Hope this helps!

cool dude: Doll customs are just a mix of easy tasks that combine to make your life hell

Moist Owlette: Instead of using a hair straightener, you can pour hot water over the wefts and then brush them again. This worked for me, anyway.

alberquirky: 1. You absolutely do not need that mesh thing, just tie it down the same way around basically anything: barbecue sticks, pencils, knitting needles etc, etc... 2. The length of the weft is limited to the length of the yarns fibers (yarns are made when spinning the ends of the fibers together, when you brush it you will break the fibers apart again as they're not really 'attached' to each other, other than being tightly spun). You can actually collect the fluff when you're done, just hold it down with a finger and brush that out and continually adding the new fluff of the brush to this new weft! With enough patience there will be basically no excess left. 3. Straightening is also possible in a thousand different ways, as many people have commented just pour hot water on them then brush again, you can iron them on a low setting, heck you can probably just rinse them in cold water, brush flat and then put something heavy on top like a stack of books and leave over night, get creative!

egg: Tip - Thicker and bulkier yarn unravels much easier, and there's less effort needed to make it into usable doll hair floof. That's something i've noticed while trying out different yarns :3

Iris: This isnt only awesome for dolls, but to make your own wigs aswell! Ofcourse it will take a long period of time an effort, but I think it will be worth it in the end. also it will be styleable to your wish and look kinda more natural then synthetic wighair ♡

Ilvermorny: Hey guys! I know I'm not Mozekyto, but it seems like a lot of people are asking about an alternative to the mesh material, so I thought I'd try and help! Try using the tray that you put cookies on to cool, and it should work just the same!

Neko_meow 03: Sooooo anyone else think this was oddly satisfying or was it just me?

Ilvermorny: Thank you for this video! I've always wanted to make a custom Ever After/ Monster High, but I was always too afraid to order all of the hair, rerooting tools, pliers, etc. This is an awesome alternative for people like me who are just starting out! Keep up the great work! I subbed. :) ♡

wallewaltz: I know it's going to be hard but I'm aiming for a human wig. Gotta make one asap for our school karaoke party which I'm supposed to be Sia. Thank you a looottt <3

LadyMiyu: Finally used this tutorial to get around to making my own wig for my bjd. Ran into a few snags but thanks to yhe bjd groups I'm in I've moved past and I'm ready to cut the yarn to glue wefts. Now to watch one of your wig videos again to choose thr style I want and make it for Miu

Sangaristic X: it seems no matter how gentle I brush with a pet hit hair brush, it destroys the yarn. yes Im using 100 percent acrylic yarn. I followed spot on from direction to how the visual is. it just not working for me.

Vane: This tutorial is AMAZING. Currently trying it with a pastel colored yarn, and the results are coming along wonderfully. I'm trying to make some other wefts as well, but I'm having some issues with those. For some reason, whenever my strings are longer than the one I was using for the other ones, they end up practically shredding, knotting, and getting ripped apart. And this is being VERY gentle with them. They shrink to at least a third of their size. Any recommendations? :( I want to make a pretty long wig

Neko_meow 03: Instead of pillow fluff, is it also possible to needle felt with it? It looks like felting wool

Val Faelor: Can you sew through the glued parts, or is it too hard? You could easily make full size wig wefts like that...

INNACTIVE LMAO: This is super helpful for the people who don't have the funds to buy alpaca wool (fur? Idk)

Coyote Kirin: I'm thinking of using this tech nice to make some fur for ears instead of buying it. I've worked with yarn a lot and honestly this was so easy to follow and I just really wanna try it out. It's so cool and you're so amazing at this! I mean even just your technique is good. So yeah. This is amazing.

Meagan Fire: My straightener doesn't have an actual temperature setting so I spent a whole night trying to find the sweet spot to straighten the wefts. On a scale of 1-20, its a 15. Also, the single row wire brushes don't work that well. I would go with the one she is actually using.

Lauren T.: WOW! That was amazing! You totally deserve more subs! I'm so glad that I found your channel, thanks to Dollightful. You are so creative! Just subscribed :)

Miku Hatsune: SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I watched the other video on how to make a yarn wig from the yarn wefts first, because I just couldn't believe yarn could be so beautiful. And now knowing how to make it so fine and elegant, I can't wait to get my hands on my mother's yarn stash! SO PRETTY!!! Thank you for the lovely, instructional video :)

Anna Kcau: Thank you so much for this tutorial! I made 2 wigs this weekend and they look so cute and soft, I love it! <3

Chioniie: I love this! I'm doing my first custom and I was trying to figure out how to do a wig! Thank you so much!

Mimi Mimi: HEADS UP YOU CAN USE A FLY SWATTER WITH BIG ENOUGH HOLES INSTEAD OF THAT GREEN THING!!? *WELCOME GUYS!!*

Ai Chan: Wow, this is amazing. I could really do this but I don't have a straightener.

J :3: I'm making my first ever doll custom (at least only the hair to start) and this tutorial is incredibly useful! I mixed 3 different colors for a cute highlights and streaks in the weft.

Ichigo Queen: Awesome! I can actually try to make this! Not only can I have hair for a custom doll im trying to make, but I can also have pillow fluff>w

Sandra Solaligue-Pérez: Absolutly amazing! I love this technique! I can imagine unicorn hair been made this way! Thank you very much!

Madame Tigre Le Deuxieme: Thank you so much for this tutorial! I started making wefts for hair, but when I didn't like how that turned out I used them more in my doll clothing. Now my first custom has a beautiful faux-fur dress, and it's thanks to you and this video. Thanks bunches!

Pix The Glitch Queen: That’s amazing how you can do this with yarn! Thank you for posting this tutorial. I don’t have a lot of doll hair to use, and to buy more would be costly, but I DO have an abundance of yarn.

elliot rat: I finally got the materials for this, they straightened and brushed out great!! I can't wait to see how they turn out, this is a super easy method.

Rebekah Erickson: this works really well! I'm making my first wig right now. but I was wondering if was normal for the yarn itself to become shorter in this process, or if I'm brushing to hard?

Tahysse Wanzoul: I love so much your videos, I'm so glad that I can make wigs myself. Could you make a video about "how to make a curly wig?" Thank you! ♥

Lexie Gibbs: Wow this looks great and super easy! I hope you do face repaints as the faces on your dolls are absolutely stunning

Vee Sea: Comes in very handy for my crochet goodies with hair I used a very similar technique for my crazy-haired purple Minion I made 2 years ago. Only, I brushed out the yarn when it was attached to the Minion's head and I didn't use a straightener, but it came out beautifully and soft and wild and fluffy Thank you for the tutorial

Sarah Petriel: Thank you so much for these videos for yarn doll wigs! I'm looking to make doll customs for a senior/capstone project, and this is something even a broke college student like me can do!

Minto: Ah! Thank you soooooo much! For my first custom, I was wondering how in the world I was going to make the hair, because I have no re-rooting tool. This was VERY helpful!!

WafflesisLove: Oh my gosh you don't know how badly I needed this tutorial. I've been working for a year to figure out yarn wefts. Thank you so much!!

a goofy goober: Wow! This looks like so much fun and it looks pretty simple! Can't wait to try this out!!! Ty for this tutorial, I had no idea!

Hazelnut Latte: I used this method for a recent cosplay! I made a medallion that needed a little fur tassle and your tutorial was a great find and help! Thank you!

Ambrosia's Dollhouse: Thank you very much. I truly enjoy the entire wig making process. I’m going to try this technique with natural fibers as well to make wigs for my dolls. ❤️❤️❤️

M: this is so cool and well explained! thank you for making all these tutorials on wigs. Quick question: if I don't have a hair straightener can I use a regular clothing iron as a substitute?

Clawretta Draws: This really worked well for me! It took FOREVER though, since I don't have a dog brush and I had to use my fingers to create heat to fray out the yarn. Still worked though! I also didn't use the mesh but I TIED the ends of three strands together. Thank you for this helpful video! :)

VideoGame_Addict: Just wanted to say *Thank You!* This worked out pretty well for me - Granted you can't make super duper long hair this way for your doll, its a great way to add hair on a budget. I manage to get my wefts about 4 to 5 inches using Acrylic Yarn via Micheal's Arts & Crafts however I don't use the "normal" type of Acrylic Yarn. I'm using Red Hearts "Unforgettable" brand, it looks like spun fiber in itself (almost looks like alpaca hair tbh but it's not and its shorter than Alpaca lol) ... I get good length out of it and it looks beautiful when finished. I guess the only drawback that sorta sucks is this particular type does not really offer a *solid* color (or my local Micheal's is just low on stock) since I am looking for a decent white or black color. That's so far the only major drawback I've encountered using this method. I do have actual Alpaca hair as well which I haven't worked with yet - But if I find a better yarn that yields longer fibers besides 4 to 5 inches I'll make sure to come back. Also don''t cut your yarn longer thinking it'll yield longer fibers, each fiber is a *set length* so you're just wasting yarn at some point. The type I use I can't just unravel it via my fingers since it's not like typical yarn.

Purple Pi Studio: Your tutorials are fabulous. Thank you for you generosity in sharing how to do all of this. I'm trying it myself as I type, and I've found that if you don't have any hair straighteners, pressing with an iron on a synthetic setting also gives you lovely glossy tresses. :)

armin-too-deep: oh my gosh i didn't know you could make such beautiful doll hair out of yarn

Sierra Rowe: Hey Mozekyto! Just wanted to let you know with the fluff leftover from the yarn wefts, I've actually tried to use it to needlefelt into doll clothes, and that (kinda) works! of course you can probably take fabric or something and needlefelt the fluff into that to make fuzzy clothing for your dolls, but also taking some leftover pantyhose, fitting the doll, and taking small bits of fluff at a time and needlefelting it in actually works (be careful doing this, don't poke the doll!) :> Thank you for your time, and I hope you try this and have successful results!

stillme4you: You have totally expanded my horizons in OOAK doll making. From the heart...thank you!

A Literal Rat .-.: Thank you for doing these videos, I'm about to start my first custom and this really helped me make the decisions I needed to for the hair!

Amethyst Holman: Wow! I've been watching all the doll customizers on YT use this method and I didn't realize it was so easy! This is awesome!!

Isha J Daniel: I have finished doing re rooting on my doll. and I unraveled the yarn with simple comb and it turned out to be really fluffy.

Cris Santos: Obrigada por compartilhar o seu conhecimento! Vou tentar me inspirar em seus trabalhos. ; )

Hannah: This video is so helpful!! Thank you so much for making this!! Can't wait for more!

Phoebe Love: Hey I want to say to you that. Thanks for making tutorial although my first time doing it, is very terrible not nice but I will keep on practice!!! >< Thanks to you that I can do more experiment on using acrylic yarn to make doll wig >< Just my wig is always end up very shorty, maybe I am too rough that why I pull out too much yarn TT. Will keep on practice and also support your page!!! ><

Koniki Ursza: FINALLY! An easy to find doll hair that looks realistic. No nylon, no alpaca fiber.. a simple yarn. Thank you SOO MUCH for sharing this! <3

Sailor Doll: Woah this is awesome , I can't wait to try this for my next custom doll ^=^ Can't wait to see what other tutorials you put up ^=^

Pol Doll: Wow!! Thank you so much for this video!! I've been wasting a ton of money on alpaca fibre that I've had to wash, comb, clean out fibres, straighten, only to lose a tone of the stuff during the process . I'll definitely be trying this out. You have a new subscriber here!! Love you for doing this video. Cannot wait for more!!

Princess Mochi: Yaaaaas thank you so much!! I'm sooo happy that I have the same dog hair brush as you, it works like a charm!!!

C H: Love this! I see you recently just started this channel. I can not wait to see what other videos you make!

aria: It's so simple and easy to make... I wish I still had my dolls...

MrsNoji: I did this for the first time today and I'm so excited, thank you!

Laura Shortt: This video is very very cool!!! I think I could now make some myself, but to use in card decoration, vs just wigs for dolls, only because it's so fluffy, silky, & just so beautiful!!!! Thank you, for making this vid!!!

Maria Aparecia Oliveira De Carvalho: Menina! Eu amei essa idéia! Parabéns!

LadyAltaria: WOW!! This is amazing! This a good alternative for me, want to use animal hair, but don't want to worry about if it's sourced ethically, and just as a good alternative in general! It's so much cheaper to buy a cheap ball of wool, rather then buying and shipping synthetic hair. Keep up the awesome videos! :)

Adriana Blanco: Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing it. Also, the fluffy stuff remaining in the brush can be reused in neddle felting I think.

LemonTea Crazy: What a great tutorial! I'd like to try that too. Is this 100% acrylic yarn or mix?

•青いRin: Omg! i didn't know you could make doll hair using yarn I immediately subscribe after seeing this video i'm glad this is in my suggestion box (ps. you're amazing )

FuzzyDiavolo •: This was very helpful! I'm planning on customising one of my many MH Dolls and rerooting the hair seemed like too much, this method looks way easier!!

xXKaxyXx: I tried this and it worked splendidly!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!

BunniElyse: Love this technique! Thank you! I just tried doing this earlier today (with a cat brush and Red Heart yarn) but no matter how gently I brushed (or tapped) I kept ripping out all the yarn. Any suggestions?

Bruna Veronesi: incrível amei ❤

Charley Phipps: I love this idea!! especially since i stopped trying to reroot in my case DESTROY) my doll because... well... I was pulling apart thick embroidery floss and it was sooo frusrtratting.

Mystery Kadaj: I found using 80% acrylic, 20% wool works pretty well. Also using a super bulky yarn works well. You'll still pull a lot out but you're left with a lot more and easier to use your straight iron on without melting it. If you use the 100% acrylic yarn it will come out looking silkier but it's typically hard to brush out.

Meda Marija: This is amazing, I want to start customising dolls but didnt know what to do for the hair cause its quite hard to find even online where i live. So this is perfect for me cause I have all the supplies all ready at home! THANK YOU!

MC: This worked beautifully!!! Thank you!

JAYME CLARK: I would just like to make a note that this does work. I've never done it before, but today I bought a flat iron, a package of assorted combs, and the de-shedder brush, and sat down at my computer desk to listen to a video while I worked on this. I cut the lengths of yarn from a skein of Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn that I already have at home. Since I didn't have the mesh, I just attached my yarn to an empty stitch saver that I use for knitting. I took the time to separate the yarn ply. Caron Simply Soft is a 4 ply yarn, very soft and slightly shiny. On top of a scratch piece of paper (as my working surface) I started combing with a plain rat tail comb, simply because I like having the handle. It's important to start at the bottom and work your way up. Make sure to keep a good strong hold on the mesh, or in my case the stitch holder, so it doesn't move around too much and waste time. Then when I had it looking right, I heated up my new flat iron and ironed the hair flat. It looks very pretty, soft and shiny. Now I just need to make about a million more in order to make a wig. Just kidding.

LiLiJughead: I didn't know you can make doll hair out of yarn. Great video!

TheBerryholic: love your tutorials! Thanks for sharing tricks :)

238Tina1: This is amazingly helpful. I'm going to start this new hobby of doll repainting!

Aurelas Rainsong: Thank you so much! You just solved my dilemma. I "rescued" several MH dolls from a thrift shop (two cat girls and the conjoined twins mermaids doll) and thought it would be fun and inexpensive to customize them. But then I looked at the price of doll hair and rerooting tools and such...yikes! But this...this I already probably have everything for! It's a miracle! Now for a miracle regarding something to fill in their tiny wasp waists and build up their arms to have a little more muscle...lol

SkellyCosplayGames22: Thanks so much this is so helpful I'm getting into the hobby of doll customizing and this helps a lot!

Matt Holloway: Potentially stupid questions but 1 what kind of glue do you use and 2 what sort of plastic are you using? I tried to use elmers glue all on glass from a picture frame(I don't have plastic and not really sure where I'd find any) and it was like rubber cement. I've got yarn permanently attached to glass now lol.

renjilover11: This is so awesome! It looks like Alpaca fiber but you don't need to dye it :D

Feather Moon: I tried it and it works exactly as demonstrated in the video :) thank you

Blair: Ok, Im probably the only one but Im not using this for dolls Im gonna try to make a full wig (specifically a Junko enoshima wig) wish me luck

Squid Bloop: Holy moly! This was actually so informative! I actually even like the yarn before its straightened! That would make a cool fluffy wig! Thanks now I have to try this!

kittenpawsbb: Wow the possibilities in color combinations are endless. Thank you

Steff: Hi Mozekyto, I'm trying to make this yarn wefts according to your tutorial but I ended up losing more yarn than what it looks like in the video. Is this normal? Or is it my slicker brush that is not suitable? Is it better to use the flea comb instead to unraffle it (but it takes soooo long)? Hope you can answer my question! Thanks for sharing this tutorial!

❤︎Icey Milk❤︎: This is helpful! But I have a question, to hold the yarn in place, can I also use a stick or would it be easier to use the screen wire stuff?

Mai: aaaaa this is so helpful. I've always wanted to start customizing dolls but the wig part kept holding me back. Thank you! I might just start now

ShibaHound Cinnamon: Thank you Mozekyto! Im planning on making custom dolls with my family, and I thought it would be easier to make a wig of yarn wefts than to re-root. Please tell me which one is stronger so that when my sister brushes her dolls hair like crazy it wont fall apart XD. TY!!!!

Bob Manface: iv been trying this for a couple of days and cant get them as straight and silky as yours :S i tried making them really long as well and all the wefts end up the same length 11cm

Valkerydreams: omg !! im so glad that i found this channel!! you really changed my life and make me really want to become a doll designer more and do these with the wigs ! i really hope you make more vids your the best !! thank you very much!

Bluu Bandette: This is AMAZING Thank you so much for this video. Its really useful!!

Lalalatina Gmz: You're so amazing and beautiful inspiring! Now I really wanna do sth like that with my old dolls

Frog Fairy: this seems way easier compared to sewing a doll wig! thanks for the tutorial!!

mnn Ngml: It's amazing, thanks a lot for sharing !!

Haley B: Awesome channel, BEST TUTORIALS!! Going to make my dolls some wigs using your videos. You have yourself a new subscriber (:
