How To Install A Wig For Swimming

For all mermaids who want amazing long hair underwater here is the best way to install a wig. I guaranty it will never fall of your head in the pool if you follow my instructions. I tried wig glue in an other video, but I felt it was really messy to clean after my swim.

For this tutorial you need: 25 bobbypins, 4 hair elastics, double side tape & a wig (I use the one from Donalove)

Hello, its Marielle from AquaMermaid, and today I will show you how to swim with perfect mermaid hair underwater. Let me show you how to install your mermaid wig to hold on underwater then. First, your hair split it around your ear in different sections, then make two sections at the front. Then you can use an elastic to just attach the back. Those two parts will be really important to anchor the mermaid wig. Then it will do two braids on the side. You don't need to be a braid expert. Then I learn this technique from my friend the magic crafter. Then mainly you just do like a regular braid going backward. Then mainly when your braid is done. You can just tie it back in your ponytail at the back. Just take it, you know you touch it. The next one you're gon na do the same. The other side make sure the braid is going toward the back and not toward the bottom, because you will see it then, when you put your wig, if it's toward the bottom just going toward the back, then you don't need to finish it until the end completely. When you have a good length, you just take it and bring it back inside your ponytail. Then you can use a brush. You don't want to make your ponytail too high, because you're gon na see it under the wig. Then I just kind of do it around my neck. Make sure your ponytail is tight, because you want those braids to be the anchor where your bobby pins will go in and make sure your wig is not moving anywhere. Now you can see there, you want, you, use your ponytail and make like a little bun to make sure you don't see it coming out and I just roll it out, put an elastic around it when you're done with this you're gon na use a wig cap. Make sure the big elastic is at the bottom, then you put your whole head in it then you're just gon na slowly bring it back, make sure to capture all your hair in it. Remove your ears and that's how it looks with the cap and then you can take your wig. This wig is really good. It'S from Donna love show you the box. I will put the link in the description below if you want to get one inside. There is little combs that you can use that to put inside your hair, also make sure to attach there's like little hooks. You cannot just the side, put it as tight as possible. You may feel that your head is a bit squeezed or something, but it needs to be really tight. I have to combs on the sides I'm just gon na put them, and yet you can start with the two combs on the side. Just pick it on the side and you will find your braids and you can push them in your braids and there's also one at the back, pull it on top of your ponytail and put this perfect, then you can adjust where you want. I don't see me, but you can adjust how you want it to be place if you want lower it on your forehead or how you want it perfect and when it's on top of your head, what you want is bobby pins, a lot of bobby pins. I would say 15 for 20 bobby pins. Ideally you take them the one, that's the same color as your wig to be more discrete, but I don't really have red bobby pins and I'm gon na use a bunch of it. I have they're like I guess golden, then you want to lift some hair and go find the bottom of the wig. Where is the cap that is under it's like a net, then you will go to that net and you will find. Where are your braids? I will just open it put this in my hair through my braids, then you will just go like this. Go all around your head and put some bobby pins. It'S a lot of work, but you want to take that time because you don't want the situation of you losing your beautiful wig during an event that you're doing it's kind of the worst thing that can happen, I'm just putting extra extra stuff and that's it. I put all the bobby pins inside my braids and to solidify to make sure this wig is not going anywhere. If you can see, we don't really see them too much. I make sure that I put them under the wig the different layers as an additional tip. What I use is a double-sided tape. I just use it on my forehead, where the wig is a bit lower than my hairline. This helps for the front of my wig to stay in place, and mainly you just cut a little on your forehead and you remove the second side, and that way the two-sided tape will be on your forehead on your skin and also on the wig, and that Will be the final touch and now you're ready to go swim? Also, I would say you should do a test. I call it the rock star test, mainly, you can just start like slowly shaking sideways, see how it feels and then you can go up and down shaking around kind of a bit pulling forward backward if it's not going to move anywhere. If you pass the test - and it's still on your head, I say congratulation to you: you are ready to go in the water swim, that's exactly what I'm gon na. Do. I'M gon na put my swimsuit on and be ready to go in the pool. Thank you. So much for watching. I hope you like this video. The Magic Crafter: Awwwww! Thanks for the shout-out, girl!! You totally did your braids much better than I did! Gaaaahhh!!! I fail at them 90% of the time! I like how you made yours into a bun, by the way. I think that is a much better way for those with long hair to go about it. ♥ (P.S.) A friend and subscriber of mine mentioned that if you put one bobby-pin over another in an "X" pattern using this same technique, it really helps reduce the number of bobby pins that you need!

コハク: I think you did well. I'd definitely recommend viewing some black youtubers who have been wearing and making lace wigs for decades in water. I've found amazing methods to use on my clients as a MUA through their talents and tips for my past adult entertainers who did underwater scenes (and recently I now do a private mermaids makeup and learned about waterproof spirit gums (for hair) and hairspray for makeup to last underwater for over an hour.) I'm talking more with my current client and are learning a lot of professional mermaids just dont seem to venture much into underwater HQ makeup and hair because they dont think it'll last but I can assure you it will ♡ dont be afraid to watch these black youtubers cause girl, they're ingenious and their applications and execution is amazing. Maybe I should ask said client if shed be okay if I shared videos of me doing her makeup and of her underwater with it.

Adam Cooke: Merci beaucoup pour ses informations, Marielle! My wife Cathy will be wearing a wig as she plays a mermaid in an underwater photo shoot that we'll be doing to help promote my new album in 2019, so these tips will be very helpful to her (and to the rest of my models who are considering wigs). By the way, that red wig is adorable - proving once and for all that you can't spell "Marielle" without "Ariel"! Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee a Marielle et tous ses co-equiers d'AquaSirene!

Donald Pariseau: Your my biggest inspection!!!!!:) thank you for all your awesome video's, keep it up!!!!;)

Ice Kitty: Personally when wearing wigs I dont wear a bun as it makes a lump, I instead barrette the loose part of the ponytail to the scalp

The Las Vegas Mermaid: Its so much better if you French braid those two pieces up front. That gives the wig clips something to dig into. And secures any Bobby pins you use. And the back of the head I also French braid down. Makes it easier to put your wig on plus its smoother so you don't have a lump in the back of your head. #thelasvegasmermaid

Rosie Posie Girl: Amazon sells colored bobby pins~ it should help with hiding them in the wig ^^

Rebecca Reid: How do you do braids with short hair for wigs and you look absolutely beautiful ‍♀️

Calandra Telemnar: What about those of us that have really short hair?

Sandra Bandura: Thanks

Samantha Hernandez: Hi i love ur mermaid tails i want one

Jordy Francis: Make sure top pluck your wig to make it more natural and emphasize the part

Samantha Hernandez: Why dose this have one like it deserves more

glenn: would be great if someone came up with a way for people with short hair to do it

demo destination: Try painting the bobypins red

carly graham: 2:09 AAAAAHHHHH THAT SOUND

George Darnell: ♡︎I have a feeling several people will comment WEAVE SNATCHED or somthing like that♡︎

Turtle 700 Trainor: Love you

Chermilla Henthorne: She looks like Molly (the blind youtuber) in this video
