Go out are you playing with me? Hey guys, welcome back to my channel today, I'm gon na be giving you five tips on how to grow and maintain your natural hair. In the beginning of the video I'm gon na give you the tips that I used when I first started out on my journey and then towards the end of the video it's gon na, be the things that I do to maintain. The healthy state of my hair. Currently so I hope you guys enjoy. First, I want to introduce you guys to this cute little tool that has completely changed my wash routine. This is the vanity planet. Groove scalp massaging brush. It is battery-powered, so you will need a triple-a battery inside the box. It comes with a mini screwdriver, so you are able to open it and place your battery in and close it. My favorite thing about this product will be the vibrating sensation that it has. It feels absolutely amazing, I'm telling you guys, oh my goodness, it just makes your eyes roll back. It just feels so good. Another amazing thing about this product is that it helps promote hair growth. This is amazing to use on your wash day because it helps to loosen up the dead skin cells on your scalp and all the build-up that you have. It works really well with a shampoo or conditioner, and it increases the blood flow to your scalp. This product can be used on braids, weaves extensions, just your natural hair. For someone who does struggle with excessive buildup on my scalp, I can honestly say that this product leaves my hair feeling so squeaky clean after every use. This product works well with all hair textures and it turns your wash day into a mini spa day if you'd like to purchase one use, my cold groove with India for 50 % off the direct link to the vanity planet, scalp massager brush will be left down In my description box, tip number one is the most important tip that there is when it comes to starting your healthy hair journey. You need to eliminate all heat. This is what jump starts everything. So you technically can't do all these other steps, if you're still using heat more than you should for me, I cut out heat completely. I believe on me straighten straighten my hair one time throughout my first few years of my healthy hair journey, and now I still really don't straighten my hair. I may straighten my hair one time because if I feel like it, don't really miss it that much anymore and you will feel the same way once you start to really take care of your hair and learn your hair and get your hair back healthy tip. Number two is to cut out using also fête shampoos. This is something that I did not know back then, so I was always using just regular Pantene or Tresemme shampoo. I wasn't looking for the actual shampoos that they do have that same sulfate free. I was just using the ones that did contain sulfate and I would wonder why my hair was so dry, why my hair lacked moisture, and I think that was just a really big thing, especially also for me back then well. I still do love to swim now, but I was heavy on swimming and being in the jacuzzi, so I was actually probably doing that five times a week and my hair would be down when I would be doing the most. So I think that chlorine also played a part and why my hair was so dry, so add chlorine and sulfate shampoo, and that just sounds like a disaster to me so be mindful. If you are somebody like me who likes to swim, you have a swimming pool in your house or your apartment complex wherever and you like to swim. Often you probably should invest in a good swim cap or just not get your hair wet is gon na, be to get your hair trimmed every four to six months. For me back then, I was cutting my hair myself. I'M actually gon na try to insert a photo and here's somewhere around here. I'M new to this. My editing is not super on point, but if I'm able to do rate there will be a photo somewhere over here and you're gon na see how my hair looked when I cut it myself, so I definitely do not recommend you cut your hair yourself. Don'T do it just don't unless you have experience, you can cut your hair yourself. If you have experience, watch a lot of YouTube videos, I'm not sure, but for me it was always a disaster. My email before I've gotten my hair cut twice by a professional. I will insert those photos as well, so you guys can see my first Eva cut compared to my second, you don't even like girls, so I need you to tell me baby what you want to say to Spice Girls. It'S confusing number four is also very important to maintain the length of your hair and that's to do protective styling. For me, during my stage of trying to get my hair back healthy, I wore my hair in buns all the time that was just my go-to always had a high bun or a low, bun and yeah. My friends would always ask me: why don't you ever wear your hair down? Why do you always have your hair in a bun, but that's just what I preferred and I didn't even know that was protective styling at the time, but that's definitely something that helped me maintain my hair and get my hair to grow longer and healthy. Ninth grade. I was known for my big hair. I would always wear my hair down, but at that time my hair really was damaged extremely damaged. It was really stringy, but I didn't know what was damaged. I actually preferred the way it looked at that time, but it's a huge difference compared to vent, and now I'm gon na go ahead and insert some clips for you guys to see. This is me in the ninth grade, and this is my hair currently, so it is a very, very, very big difference, a 10th grade. I ended up moving to a brand new school and that's actually when my healthy hair journey started. I remember on my first day my hair looked horrible. I tried to wear it down still because that's what I was used to from freshman year. I just couldn't do the same thing anymore. My hair did not look the same at all, would really damaged my hair. At that point, was I straightened my well first, I dyed my hair using this brand box dye, which I started using after my hair was back to healthy when I was dying in jet black, and this is a good brand, I'm just showing you guys a brand That I did use it was this and then I had my aunt straightening, my hair literally dyed, my hair straight from my hair same day my hair was fried fried my hair was trashed. My hair did not exist anymore. I don't know what that combination did, but it was a horrible combination box dye. Putting all that heat. It just was not smart at all. So I remember on my first day of school, I was still trying to wear my hair down trying to be cute. You know I'm at a new school. I don't know anybody here, and this story was just funny to me but anyways. I was in class and I remember one of the girls in that class who ended up becoming one of my good friends. She told me like girl, I was looking at your hair like what is that girl doing? How was she trying to wear her hair down if she doesn't slicked it with some gel like that, goes to show you guys just how damaged my hair was at that time, 11th grade year I moved to a new school again and my hair was back in A healthy state, so it's when I was kind of known you know around school. For my big hair, I would get a lot of compliments and also kind of a lot of many insults like girl, where'd, you get your hair from what kind of hair is that? That'S not a compliment. You should ask me first, you know my hair is real askers before you just assume that it's fake currently to maintain my hair. I just keep condition two times a week. I don't skip. I make sure I do deep condition, especially since I like to take my hair selfies, and things like that. I do have to make sure I'm maintaining the health of my hair on a regular basis, a lot of the times when I do deep condition. I don't always use heat so the first time I do condition I'll just put the product in and I'll put in a cap on, or I won't I'll just have it in a low bun. I saw somewhere on a post where it's putting your hair on a top bun when you conditioning it had like a X on it and then with a low bun. You had a green checkmark so ever since I saw that I just kind of started doing that. I don't really know if that makes a difference or not, but that's what I think in time that I would give conditioned. I will go ahead and just put a cap on and use my blow dryer on high heat and I'll just run it over the bag or the plastic bag or plastic cap that I have on my hair at the time and yeah. That'S it right now, I'm not interested in straightening, my hair because of the shape and color that I have. I just I'm not sure how my hair will look straightened, I'm actually kind of worried about that. I prefer long sleek black hair, that's just my preference of what my hair is straightened, so I'm pretty sure I'm just gon na keep going on not straightening. My hair, in the only heat that my hair comes in contact with, is my diffuser, which I use on low setting and low heat. So that's very important to do. That'S like a major key. You can use high heat if you use low setting. That'S what my hairstylist did tell me, but I prefer low setting low heat just to avoid any kind of heat damage at all. That'S all the tips that I have for you guys it's pretty simple. It was nothing super over the top. These are just the things that I did and it worked for me. So if you're somebody who likes a simple routine, you can go ahead and follow these tips and over time your hair will just continue to flourish and blossom. If you want to see my healthy hair journey, you know I'll link you down in the description, so you can kind of get more of an idea damage. My hair was compared to how it is now and you'll get more details of things that I did to transform me.
