FTC disclaimer: Im not getting paid to make this video. I got the hair extentions for free but i already made a video about them. All opinions are honest!

Hey guys, so I'm going to show you how to do a Carrie Bradshaw bun, and I watched second city two last night it was Halloween. So I watched that, while I answered the door with all the little trick-or-treaters and I freaking love sex and city, I love the freakin movies. I could watch them like every single day. I don't know what it is about. Carrie Bradshaw, but it's like every girl wishes that could be her. I don't know what it is about her, but um. I'M gon na show you how to do one of the buns that she had in the movie and it was when she wanted a big to go out with her for a night out. She don't want to say it. So it's a really cool bun and you can do this with hair extensions and I've been getting a ton of requests on formspring to do a video on how to do an updo with hair extensions, and so I'm going to show that to you guys today. Now this hairstyle works really well. If you have thicker hair, if you have extremely thin hair like I have thin hair, but it's not as thin as I've seen it before um. This might be a little bit more difficult for you, but it is possible. You just have to work a little bit harder to hide the extensions. So what you're gon na do is you're gon na take all your hair and you want the fun to be like mid, like mid head, maybe a little bit higher than the mid part of your head and what, if you really flick back so I'm just spraying. It with hairspray and I'm taking a round brush, and you want the brush that you're using to be it like this prickly type of bristles, because that's gon na give you that really slicked back. Look. I used to do this all the time when I was in like middle school, like it was really popular to have like slicked, back hair and like buns. I don't you guys, remember that, but it was like the thing to do like slicked back your hair. Basically, you just want it to switch back as possible, and you want to make sure the underneath part is to look back to because it looks really bad. If that's not. This is gon na, be a fun all right now that you have that you're just going to put it in a pony and then to get it to stay. I just kind of spread top and really slick it back now. Am I not kind of curled, but they don't have to be curled? It doesn't really matter what they are because basically were going to be, twisting it and really tight twists. So what you're going to do? You don't necessarily have to use the clicks? You basically want to wrap it around the ponytail and bobby pin them in like around the ponytail like this, so you basically want to just kind of wrap them around a bobby pin in it. So it doesn't have to be perfectly pinned in because it's all going to be hidden anyways a lot of times. People get way too worried about that being perfect, and it does not have to be so we're going to do this one this one's really long. It'S four Clips wide, I'm just gon na pin that in as well. If you want you can use the clips, I prefer not to for this. I'M gon na do one more. If you want to do it underneath so just slip your hair over. So I'm gon na take a little bit from each side and then I have some still in the back and I'm going to get this out of the way. So I'm just going to clip it down here and I'm gon na do a bunt with this. So what you want to do is twist it really really tight and really really as perfect as you can, because hers in the movie was really perfect tight. So just twist it and as you twist just kind of wrap it around in a bun and as you go basically just keep pinning it into place. I'Ll kind of show you the back just like that. So now you have just like a cinnamon bun. Now you're gon na take these pieces and you can probably do them in about two and what you're gon na do is twist all the way down and you're going to just kind of wrap it around. I'M just it up with all the pieces, I'm probably gon na be able to get about four, and then one left guys can see this okay. This is a really hard tutorial to do make sure you get bobby pins, the same color as your hair. Otherwise, it's gon na look really weird. So then, once you have it all pinned into place, you want to spray it now. Carrie'S was really really perfect because you had a hairstylist working on it all right. So this is the finished finished product from the front. Now, from the back, I'm gon na say this in advance: cuz a lot of people could say that doesn't look like it, but you have to remember: Carrie's hair was done by a hairstylist that was sitting there. You know pinning all the pieces perfectly together and all that kind of thing we're not hair stylists, so we're doing our own hair, but this is like a inspiration off of her hair style and just kind of like a do-it-yourself type of version of it. So this is what the back looks like. So basically, it's just a big ginormous bun and that has the small pieces kind of wrapped around it really really pretty and really elegant. For you know a really romantic, maybe evening out with a really pretty dress on or even like prom or something if you want to have something more like slicked back and stuff like that, and you can also, if you feel like there's like 200 bobby pins poking Out on one side or something you can take like a big flower clip and just clip this in onto one side and you'll get a really pretty effect with a big flower in your hair. So that is the final Carrie Bradshaw inspired hair tutorial, and I hope you guys liked it. If you have any questions about what I did, I'm just go ahead and comment below. You can do this with straight hair. You can even do this with curly hair. If you want to it's, not gon na look bad or anything like that, and it might take a little bit of practice. Definitely if I would rate this, that's why a skill level like intermedia to advance like it's, this isn't really an easy hairstyle, but just practice it and you'll be surprised. So yeah that is my hair tutorial face. Have any questions just go ahead and comment below? theonewithtiffany: Love this! I'm gonna give this a shot with a big shorter hair. Hopefully it looks as good. And I love your bangs too. Considering giving those a whirl too. Hahaha. Thanks for the great ideas!

Natures Knockout: Super pretty!!! Nice job! The flower totally ties it together!

Tiff Smith: I love sex and the city! This Bun is very cute... You always have awesome hair tutorials can't wait to see more! What hairspray are you using?

Dr. Sharon Kainth: very very beautiful, your hair tutorials are my absolute favorite

shaiinuhxx: I LOVED SATC2! This bun looks great!

Bri: that was honestly the most really visually well explained hair tutorial, loved it! i would love to learn how to get streaks at home, such as what brand, what toner brand, and what color of toner, b/c my hair is just like ur hair color, and has never been dyed (: but also the steps, so maybe a video, but ur just explaining rather than doin? <3

ThePeanutemma: Really liked this and will try it on me tomorrow! Good job!

wonderamal01: love it ! so chic ! great job ;)

CoachByNicole: Omg I love love SITC. Love SJP. Love love this bun very cute. I'm going to give it a shot but I don't have bangs. Either way great video.

bellejem91: ur hair tutorials are some of the best around!!

jennfarley0502: You look great with your hair in an up do!

NamiSpaz: LMAO I totally remember the slicked back hair look! I used to do it all the time in middle school! That and brown lipstick =P

Heather Johnson: this is so pretty! :)

CaliforniaLiving: omg please do an outfit of the day with the long leg warmers!! i so want to purchase them but dont know how to style them

eyelashalot: great job with that updo luv it

Franziska Fa: Do you think dyeing my hair darker/ back to my natural color would help it to grow longer? Because I've blonde dyed hair but also the whitest skin ever, so I'm afraid of brown hair on myself ;/

Madelyn Cook: I think it would be awesome if you did a gLee inspired look? (: just sayin'. hah. i love your videos<3 this is beautifulll<3

NinjaBunbun: Hair looks fantastic. I can never do pretty looking buns. I have stupid fuzzy hair underneath like if i tie up my hair it's all fuzzy underneath and no bobby pins ever hold it up =(

sureempire: instead of using all those bobby pins you should try the corkscrew(? swirly) hair pins! Theyre super useful and you only need two :)

CoachByNicole: I have all 6 Seasons and both movies on my iPhone - my husband was so sick of watching them. I will need to watch it again to see this bun I recall but n't 100% either way I'm going for yours very cute. Love the flower too. Great job on your website also.

vanislegirl81: Where did you get that kick ass flower?? Love it!

cynku: love satc!... i am up to season 5 ep.2!!... love carry bradshow the style and the dresses, too bad she broke up with aiden i like him!....lol.. i love ur video totally going to try this look...;D thx!

shaling19bigsis: Yay! I love SATC too!!

ZS: when you said 'that doesn't look like it' at 7:15, I could not stop laughing! you're cute & pretty <3

Amanda Lugo: what lipstick are you wearing in this? i really like the color! :)

Carah Amelie: @mailbox65 yeah that is defnitely part of the problem. try getting a straightening balm that you can put in before you blow dry. enjoy and bumble and bumble both have great ones!

Carah Amelie: @beautification18 good tip, but the only reason i didnt do that was because when you slick your hair back sometimes you see the bumps where the etensions lay :(

doowopshopgal: Nice nice nice, great idea with the extensions, stay well

CoachByNicole: Omg give me something else this bun is killing me. Even though you gave the skill level I felt I could really get it. I've now resorted to having my husband watch you and give me a hand lol wish US luck.

Incompant: Lol, You make the FUNNIEST face when you spray hairspray in your hair :P Great Vid!

bratboo: i'm 13 and i love your hairstyles and also your really pretty

Carah Amelie: @Charlescultee88 cheap bobby pins might be the problem. if you can try to get your hands on professional bobby pins.. they can make a huge difference. OR you can try using a couple large long ones. I have also heard the twist in ones work well

Carah Amelie: @smyli12 there isnt a name for it.. basically i just bleached it out to a yellowish color.. then toned it with a little bit of ash and violet to make it more natural looking! :) yes it would look good with black hair... but you want to make sure you dont just bleach it.... you have to tone it to make it look good!

HelloJello: Do u know a website where you can buy good clip extensions? :)

HelloMojito: @carahamelie03 Oh wow. You do a lot! :] Which do you like doing most?

E10A10W10: do you know how i can find hair extensions that will match red hair?

Carah Amelie: @3starbeauty thank you :)

Carah Amelie: @dayydreaminnx3 i will have my husband take pics of my highlights this weekend, and i iwll do a blog post on it :)

Stevie Robinson: Love the highlights!

Carah Amelie: @makeup032098 thank you so much

Carah Amelie: @CoachByNicole haha... well neither did carrie in the movie and she looked great!

Carah Amelie: @MissBrunette89 i will do one with a pair. i just got cream ones!

Brooklyn Castro: i love your hair styles but somtimes when i pull my hair back i look bald eaven though i have very long hair so i am planing to get bangs like yours but how do i know if they will lokk good on me.

Carah Amelie: @CoachByNicole yeah i was kinda thinking of asking for the box set of the SATC seasons... but its like 200.00 >_< lol

Doctor Jules: I'm using my fiancé account :p I commented on another one of your videos but how do you put the Bobby pins in your hair? I didnt think I'm doing it right...like throughout the day they come out and I have to keep pushing them back in and it's SOO annoying and it messes up my hair! ;(

unciaciapanca: Where are you're earrings from???like them

CoachByNicole: Get it from Costco it's totally worth it. I have the first box (pink box) set and the two books. Costco has the new one in a white box has the all 6 Seasons and both movies for the same price as just the old box set of the 6 Seasons. It's worth it. I love having them on my iPhone it's the best - my husband just burned them all for me from the CDs best thing ever. You can also find the old box set I have for cheaper now since the new one is out.

Carah Amelie: @XxAllGlamedUpxX if you want the GIANT bun effect yes... but if you arlready have really tihck hair you probably dont need them

Carah Amelie: @girl112791 pull them back! thats how carrie had it and it looked great!

Kristine Medows: ..is the shoes...lol i love the series is my fav show and im obsseseed w da movies too :) xo

lilove: why did you pin it with bobby pins instead of just clipping them in as normal???

Carah Amelie: @estherbader im naturally really thin... especially on my upper half.... i never gain weight in my arms or chest. i cant help it. plus its my pose. :/

Carah Amelie: @HelloMojito youtube and makeup ;) art is just a side thing, when i have time i do it... but its not something that i do for a living or anything. :)

Carah Amelie: @lianaroa i just feel like it makes it more secure.

HelloMojito: How do you have enough money for all this stuff? You say you're an artist. Are you really good, then? What kind of artist are you?

Carah Amelie: @HelloMojito i am an artist, but thats not my full time job. i am a hairstylist and a makeup artist, and my husband is a graphic designer.

Carah Amelie: @bnesmommy its big sexy hair... but they changed the can for a little bit for brest cancer.

Mandy4578: your round brush looks like a cow pattern : )

PurplexRibbon: Haha me too! :P

tigerlibby28: I can't stand Sex in the City, SJP makes my skin crawl, thought the acting was bad, the writing, just hated em. Think I'm the only girl on the planet. And don't send me comments arguing with me about it, enjoy all you want, just saying this chick doesn't want to be like her at all. I do like this hair do though.

kcd9292: Your picture is on a website for a strip club!!!!! i was researching strip clubs to hit up (just turned 18 :p) and you were on there! are u a stripper or is this a mistake? just giving you a heads up!!

susu21609: ur hair looks soo rpetty

NinjaBunbun: @tigerlibby28 you're not the only girl =)

Carah Amelie: @vanislegirl81 i think claires! haha

Carah Amelie: @kcd9292 ugh.... this is frustrating... haha. but NO NO NO I am not a stripper. I used to model... and I signed a release for a couple pics that a photog took of me.. not thinking much of it, and that pic is on TONS of websites including herbal essence, aussie, skin bright, etc. I have no affiliation with ANY of these websites you see me on!! its kinda getting on my nerves though with how many websites have me on them... and some being innapropriate!

Charlene B: @carahamelie03 aw man..that sucks.. sorry that happened to u!

TheChum1981: how much do you weigh...i know, really off the topic question...but i was just wondering. lol

TheChum1981: @carahamelie03 are you 5'7"?

Carah Amelie: @TheChum1981 like 5'5 and a half

tigerlibby28: @LaraZombie Yay, lovin havin company :)

Carah Amelie: @TheChum1981 like around 117ish

susu21609: @carahamelie03 OMG THATS HORRIBLE!!! why would anybody post ur pics up on those nasty website?? ugh! haters!

Carah Amelie: @x3GirlyGirlx3 im 25 :)

pokadotz911: 4th :)

Carah Amelie: @unciaciapanca world market! :)
