Hi guys welcome back to my channel today. I am in a new place, but we'll get to that in just a second lately. I'Ve been on a kick just putting out videos that you guys have specifically requested, and this is possibly my most requested video ever so. I'M finally getting around to giving you guys this video, how I combed my hair. My name is Megan Fox. If you're new to my channel I'm a Mennonite, I wear my hair up and out of the way I cover it and I'm not going to get into a the whole reason why, in this video like, I definitely think there's better resources out there for you. But I would just like to share that the reason I covered my hair is because of what it says in first Corinthians 11 says that a woman should cover her hair and there's a lot of different interpretations of that passage, and I'm not saying that you need To come out to the same place that I'm at, but I do encourage you to read it if you have never read first Corinthians 11. I fully believe that the Bible is for us today, as well as two thousand years ago and two thousand years from now. It does not change, it is the Word of God, but I'm not going to delve into that any more than that really, except to say that Mennonites are Christians and we follow the Bible and we follow all the Bible as best as we cannot that we're still Not learning every day, and if you have more questions that the Mennonites in our culture, I definitely have more videos that I can link down below for you guys that cover a lot more of those topics. So, let's get into this video, I am at my mom's house in her bathroom, I decided not to film in my own gas, because the lighting is terrible. If you are not new to my channel, you will know that we are living in a fixer-upper and slowly fixing the rooms up one at a time. So the bathroom is not high high high on the list, so it's gon na be a little bit before. That'S done so I decided to come here where it's lighter and brighter, and I feel like I have more room to film anyway. You guys want to see the bathroom. Let me show it to you real, quick and then looking into my hair. So this bathroom is an addition to an 1800s house, so my mom was trying to keep it like old school trying to keep it with the era of the original house. So you'll see like the old radiators there, we used to love hanging our towels on there to warm them up. Here is a cute pedestal sink and an old-fashioned toilet this. This flusher thing is pretty cool jubilee. I'M sharing with you guys a toilet, there's an old reclaimed mirror out of an old window, and over here she had an Amish guy. I believe custom-make her corner cupboard. Also, I think she aged this herself looks really cute and I cannot live without one of these trifold mirrors, although I am living with that one right now, but I've always had them growing up and it's the best way to comb your hair and the clawfoot tub. Isn'T it so cute but yeah? So this is my mom's master suite bathroom in through there the French doors is their bedroom and out the window. You can see our childhood swing set and the fields and my grandpa and grant will build a house way down there. In their field, so we grew up being neighbors with my grandma grandpa. This is awesome, so I've never really done it get ready with me. I don't really wear a ton of makeup and stuff. I could do it get ready with me. Sometimes that's something you're interested in, although every all my makeup that I ever use, I can put on a red light, so it really doesn't take that long, but I thought I would just show you some of my favorite products since you guys are asking. I am really big on face mess. I think I talked about this before this one's from lemongrass spa. I'M not brand loyal to let my grass bar anything, but I do love a good face mist. Also, you guys know I like teeny products on my skin right now, I'm using this oil. It is the lavender and sage soothes oil. Also, this is the contact solution that I use. I do have contacts they're, not colored. My eyes are blue. My whole family's is, but I like this system best, because one time I was getting ulcers on my eyes from just using the regular contact solution, so this stuff has. I think it is what hydrogen in it, and so you can't just squirt your contacts with it and pop it in your eye. You will burn your eye like crazy, but I find that it really does clean. My contacts well and also I like to get my contacts from Walmart they've been really cheap. What I found but yeah this is a canister that goes up that also another little product that I love, which is random. I bought this when I was like worried about stretch marks when I was pregnant. It'S the palmers cocoa butter and I love putting it on my lips, which sounds really disgusting, but it works. It has vitamin E oil in it and I wear my lips really bad when I was a teenager, so I always like to have something on so yeah. If you have some of that sitting around at home, there's another use for it another one of my favorite products is my native deodorant and they are actually sponsoring today's video. You guys love when I collaborated with them last time, because they give you guys such a good deal. Well, they're doing it again. You guys can get 33 percent off of nativist deodorant native deodorant is aluminum, free, paraben and sulfate free, and it has familiar and natural ingredients such as coconut oil and shea butter. It'S also vegan and cruelty free. They have a ton of different scent choices. To pick from, and they last all day, even if you're gon na work out or whatever and some of them are more feminine and some of them are more masculine and some of them really can work for either so I'm always trying out their different scents. You can see here the different ones that I got okay every time I get an order of native deodorant and I always get the unscented that way if Josh would run out or something out, it's just nice to have some unscented around. But then I love their scents that they have to this and there's a new one that I'm trying it's jasmine and cedar. I like it, but I would say it's definitely more jasmine and cedar and I'm not a huge floral person, but it does smell good, and this one here is my all-time favorite. I used to really love the citrus and herbal musk and I still loved it. I thought this is my favorite, but I think this one is taking over as my favorite. So if you're going to order, maybe try the grapefruit and bergamot. If you kind of think you have the same taste in some senses, I do - and you can see here by like the stick itself - that it's not sticky and it's not super dry. Sometimes it's really dry. It hurts when you're putting it on but yeah. It'S just like pretty much perfect, so you're gon na want to click the link down below in my description box after you're done watching this video and use my code right here to get 33 % off. Like I said, I love native deodorant because it's natural, but you don't have to keep applying it more often, just because it's natural, I know some natural deodorants really aren't that effective. But I love Native I've been using it for probably half a year now and yeah. It really definitely works for me. Okay, I'm gon na show you a quick and easy simple updo that I like to do it's kind of like a half twist half braid. I do not have it in my hair right now, but I will show it to you too just a bit here, but let's talk haircare, I watched my hair about twice a week. My hair is, I guess you could say thin, but not fine. It'S like very bendy. I can make it curl if I you know, make it wet or whatever, and I can kind of make it do what I want it to in some ways. I get all kinds of questions about how long my hair is. My hair would say comes to about the middle of my back, but I do trim it occasionally. I would say, probably once a year just to keep it healthy and growing, and everything - and this is my natural hair color - I've never got it or done highlights or anything like that. So I wish I was a redhead, but this is the hair guy baby and I'm totally fine with it. My hair is pretty dry, so doesn't get greasy as quick it'll just get more like matted and dull. Looking right now, my hair is actually like a couple days old from a wash, but that's like when I can actually comb it the best I feel so that was on purpose guys. I change up my haircare pretty often, but right now. I am really into this triple shot, coffee and cream shampoo bar - and this is a brand new bar. I have an order bar sitting at home in my shower, but I didn't really want to show you that one so yeah they're really cute, and I can like everything that I mentioned down below in the description box. If you want to check anything out, I've really gotten into shampoo bars over the years. They sound, really weird, but they're really actually so underrated. I really like them, but then I just also use a conditioner as well and I'll just buy whatever looks on sale or it looks good at you know, Target or whatever and right now, I'm using this suave keratin conditioner. I tend to look anything that promises. Lots of body my hair is not that that thick, so I like to make it look like. I have more hair than I really do, and you can actually comb your hair to trick people into thinking that you had more hair than you really do. Ok, so I think that covers everything. Let'S get into the tutorial. I will a lot of times just comb. My hair, like this, like you see here just the side, part and just pull back but somedays. I just want to have my hair off of my face or look a little bit cuter and so yeah. This is what I do. Ok. First of all, I never really brushed my hair. This is the brush I use on my daughter, but I don't use it on myself, because I find that just flattens my hair out and it doesn't really give it much body. I love this. On the other hand, I will link it below. It is so so handy, it's a wide toothed comb, and it just gives your hair more of a PC look and just yeah. It gives it more like texture, I guess you could say also these. These are the hair pins that I will be using. They are like the medium length, I believe, like they're, two and a half inches, but you can get all different sizes of these and I get these at goods store and I do do believe you can order online and that I have my clips here on a Magnet at case you were wondering, but I like these little brown bobby pins, sometimes I'll use one, but never more than one with this hairstyle. These are super super tiny, bobby pins that I used to hold my veiling on my head here. You can see them again in the packaging, and this is also joyce is a lady. I get my veils from as well and I'll link that all down below for you guys in case you happen to be looking for something yourself, and I thought I'd just show you these quick in case. You never saw me talk about these if I'm really having a speedy day, and you need to get going sometimes just twist my hair up and put this in, it's like a crap clip. I guess you could call it. They have a brown one and a black one, but I think I got these at Walmart and then also here is a hair tie. I just use the ones from Walmart, I like the neutral color, so you don't have to worry about hiding them and I usually use one of those too ok, and here we go. I hope you guys can see. Ok with this tutorial, but first of all I just flip my hair down and I just kind of shake it out and try to get. You know some volume into it and then I will make a side part usually for this hairstyle. I often will part it on the left. It just works better with my head and my I guess, and then okay watch carefully. What you want to do is take a small section right at the front of your forehead, and you want to take that small section and divide it in half. Then you're going to take that front piece and lift it up and over the other piece right like that and then hold it tight. Then you want to take the bottom piece and grab another section of hair. That'S right beside it and put that together with it and lift that over the top of the other piece and you'll just keep doing that so the bottom piece you grab some hair, that's close by it and you flip it up over the top. You want to keep it pretty tight. You can always kind of loosen it up later again. The bottom piece grab some hair there. I got it behind my ear and it's just getting flipped up over the top again. So it's kind of a twist kind of a French braid because you're always adding hair but you're, not actually braiding you're twisting. So the bottom piece is always getting hair added to it. And then you do a twisting motion over the top. Instead of having three pieces and doing a braid, so it's really easy once you get the hang of it, it's just kind of a rhythm and then, when I get to the back, I will kind of do it in a few more pieces, just really big and Then I will take the left side where I was not doing the whole twist and I'll just twist that whole section kind of up and around just a little bit, but that's not essential. If you couldn't see that there, I don't know, I just feel like it gives my hair a little more body. That way now that's the first part, then I will take a hair tie and just make it a normal ponytail. I usually wrap it like about three times it's kind of loose. You don't need it too. Tight depends how stretchy or elastic is, I guess, and then I pull the band down just a little bit, and then you see here that I'm gon na make a hole above the hair tie. Are you guys sticking with me here right there? I made a hole and then I'm gon na flip, my long ponytail up into that hole and out the other side, so there it goes and I'll just tuck it all down and pull it out. So it has this cool like twist to it. This is not necessarily necessary. You can definitely just do the front part that I showed you and that's that and they leave everything else simple, but I like to do that just to make it more like feminine and twisty. I guess, and then I just divide my ponytail and pull it quickly, just to tighten it up and now you're ready for the bun part at the back. So I just twist my hair counterclockwise. I believe it doesn't really matter, and then I wrap it around in a circle kind of loosely. I kind of like to just judge it around a little bit to get it feeling good and comfortable. It should be really comfortable right and then this time my hair only needed like four hair pins, sometimes I'll do more than that, but basically the way to put a hairpin in. If you are new to it, is you jab it into your bun around the edge kind of, and then you dig it into your hair? That is against your head? Don'T dig into your head or anything guys it shouldn't hurt and then you just kind of scoop and push it in it's sorry. It'S really hard to explain in words. So just yeah watch the video and that should help you a little more and yeah. I only need like four hair pins and it's state, and the goal for me is always to have kind of a looser bun. So it looks like I have more hair than I really have today got a little bit tight, though, because my hair was starting to look a little bit flat. Okay, so after you do it you're kinda, I look like an egg yeah at first, so you want to kind of like just pull things out a little bit. I like to pull some stuff out around my ears. Just so I don't look like bald and I don't know I feel like I look like an egg. Maybe that's just me and then this my hair is not curly, but this just kind of curls, because I think like goes behind my ear. I guess so what I like to do is just spray it with a little hairspray. I just use the cheap suave stuff from Walmart and just go like this sorry, I'm looking in my viewfinder here and then just like twist it up and hold it there for a sec just for it to kind of get trained this side. I don't know I might just leave that one plain but yeah I just like what my fingers and put a little water through it and yeah. This is not necessary. This is up to your own taste, and then you can see my twist here is there and I find that it always looks best after a couple hours. So if you're gon na have it in all day, maybe started out a little tighter, you can like use a heavier hand, but I often just do Loosli as I can, while keeping it still. You know intact. It'S a French braid twist. I guess you can call it it's like half and half, but you can see if it's like bubbling out of your ear and you don't like how it looks. You can just kind of like twist it in tighter and then I'll just go in with a bobby pin and fun fact. You guys know that you take the bendy part and you actually put the part that's bent downwards, and that keeps it in your hair better. So I'll just put one here in the back to hold it down and not even worry about, hiding it because you're not gon na see it anyway. Once I put my veiling on top or my veil, whatever you call it hand covering - and I feel here that this hair pin is sticking out - I can see it feel it. I don't want to see that so I just feel like this and tuck it back in there. Okay - and I often go like this and push up from the sides, which sounds really stupid, but I feel like it gives my hair a little more body wow. I just looked at this in the mirror. It actually got right today. I never know like if I'm gon na do it from a camera. I'M just sure I'm gon na be out hair day, but it looks right on the side, at least I'm not sure about my hairline today, it's a little crazy, but then I will just take my hairspray and just missed it a little bit and if you're like Me and your hair doesn't need a ton of hairspray I've actually heard of people who water their hair spray down. I don't do that myself. I just prefer to use only a little bit but yeah. If you don't need a ton or you find like it, has too much of a hold, you can totally do that. Okay, now I'm ready for my head covering or revealing. Basically it's just fabric with some lace around it, and I get my from Joyce long. She makes coverings like the bonnet style and also veils, but there's several different. Ladies in our area that make them, I never made my own. I always thought they seemed so simple, but I can never get them to lay nice and flat and be symmetrical and everything. So I will put my exact dimensions that I order down below if you're curious, I like that they're a little more oblong. If you look closely, this is longer than it is wide, because that's how my hair is it's how my head is but yeah what I do if I just find where the seam is or the lace meet each other and then that's the top at the top Of my head and then I don't love how these pin look they're not near as dainty, but they are not going anywhere. So I'd like to do that for the top one at least okay, and then for the sides. I'M gon na use those small little dainty ones. I like they're, almost invisible, you hardly see them and I got a lot of questions about why people wear white ones versus black ones versus colourful ones, and I would just say it's different Church preferences, some churches. They have specific rules and guidelines so that everybody looks the same and then some churches - you can just do it. However, you want as long as you're covering your hair, but yeah black and white doesn't mean like you're married or you're, not married or anything like that and another question I get often is your hair isn't really covered, and that is kind of a valid point. If you're talking like every hair covered, it definitely isn't, but I feel like when you look at me. You can see that the majority of my hair is covered up. The Bible says that women were given long hair for it's a glory to her, and so I feel, like my glory of my hair, is covered up see. I only want to get into this too much because I'm not preaching at you guys, if you do it differently than I do. This is just like when I read the Bible. This is how I feel in my heart, like that's how I feel like what God is telling you to do, and so I definitely want to do that so yeah. If you don't agree with what I'm doing I get it, I'm not gon na. Have everybody like me all the time, but at the same time I don't judge you if you cover your hair differently than I do or if you come out of different out at a different place from the Bible than I do, because I know that I'm not Perfect - and I don't understand everything fully either, but I'm trying to learn more every day anyway. So these last clips here I like to put them at like 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock or three o'clock and 9 o'clock. I guess either one and then sometimes the trick is to make sure you have it on straight. Okay and then another thing that happens to me sometimes, is that I would like parting in my hair up here or like you can see like skin, and that case I just take my comb and just try to space out my hair a little bit more. I guess you have really thick hair. That will never be a problem for you about my hair yeah, it's not as thick and it could use a washing, and I another tip that I would have if you are trying to have fuller thicker hair is don't always part your hair. On the same side, I like to do mine on different size at different times. Sometimes when I know I'm gon na be at home all day by myself with just the kids, I will pull my hair straight back or I'll party in the middle. That way, my hair just learns to go different ways and I feel like it makes more body if I have it parted on one side one day and then I flip it and part out on another side the other day. So yeah, that's just another trick that I have learned for my hair, but that's the thing that's so frustrating everybody's hair is so different and what works for me might not work for you. I know some people, their hair is so like unruly. They like to use a hair net, I can link those down below. I find those are really helpful. I used to use one if you want to get your hair in a nice round ball. I myself don't mind like the more messy look, so I don't use a hair net, but it's actually really good for your hair to use less hair pins and like use a hair net or something like that, and here is the final reveal. I guess you could call it. I did have a few strands there at my neck that I didn't realize till later. That'S the problem when you're filming you get distracted anyway, so I just did tuck them up into my bun using another hair pin. So that was an easy fix, but yeah. I always like to look at my hair from all sides to make sure that things are looking like. I won them, but if you run into me in real life, there's no guarantee that my hair is gon na. Look great so there's the final look, I'm going to take some pictures for a thumbnail and then I'm gon na get this bathroom cleaned up again. So thank you guys so much for watching it's just a really highly requested. Video like I said so. If there's anything I didn't cover or didn't show well, let me know, and I would be glad to like answer it and upcoming vlog or Q & A or something like that, but in the meantime check out 1st Corinthians 11. If you'd like to know more, if you're just curious more about the Mennonites and their lifestyle and culture, I couldn't get into it too much. But just know that I am a Christian and, I believe the whole Bible and what it says and Mennonite is just kind of the way I choose to live my life but yeah. If you have any more questions that as well, you can drop them in the comments below, and maybe I can answer some of them also definitely check out the discount. That native is offering you guys. I recently was in that Target and I saw that they were charging much more for their deodorant, so if you're thinking about getting into natural beauty rent, I think now is the time my link is right down there in the description box. Thank you guys so much for watching. Also don't forget to check out these two videos here. If you haven't seen them yet and I'll see you all in my next video bye, everyone you

Amanda: I’m an atheist, but I have been subscribed to you for a long time! I love how you talk about your practices and beliefs in a way that explains them well, but doesn’t judge others for coming to a different conclusion. I find your videos really uplifting and inspiring on days when I’m struggling with household stuff (I’m a SAHM/homeschooling mom too) or just need a pick me up. Thanks for all you do!

Angie Jones: As a "seasoned" woman, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for standing true to your faith, sharing your life. For being an example for young people. I feel we are losing our sense of homemakers and moms. Your videos give me hope. Blessings

Sarah Anne: Although we interpret things differently, this whole video just made me smile and warmed my heart. Thank you for letting us into this part of your life. And thank you for continuing to be such a great light.

Lindsy: I am agnostic but I really love learning about others' perspectives and ideas. I love that you try not to force your ideas on your viewers!

Jenny Henry: So because of YOU I began to study 1 Corinthians 11 myself. I read 3 books on the topic and found the Headcovering Movement. I was convicted to begin covering during times of prayer, so I do at church and bible studies and at home when praying. I also cover when teaching God's word to children, mine or others at church. Thank you friend for your willingness to share your heart!

Jess Chilous: Lovely video! I've been covering for about 12 years, similar reasoning of course as a Christian, but I tend to cover all of my hair or if anything, my hairline might peek out (I wear a more draped hijab type style or a turban, just depends) I love the diversity in the covering community, the different "styles" and expressions of the Scripture. Love your channel, be well and be blessed!

Aimie Dines: Oh my goodness Megan, this is the first time you’re showing your hair without your covering! I know you were always uncomfortable to do so but thanks for the hairstyle demos. Super cute!!

Rachel at Home: You can use a red toner when you’re washing your hair to bring out more of the red in your hair (once a week). It’s looks like a lovely muted auburn on video. I’m glad you now felt comfortable enough to show us exactly how you style your hair as it always looks so elegant and I wondered how you got it to twist.

Tash Jansson: Awesome hairstyle, did it on myself alongside you showing it, and it came out so pretty! Thank you!!!

xllauureenx: Fellow hair cover-er! I appreciate how open you and informed you are about your religion. I often get asked by Christians about covering and explain from my book and often use this verse as well. We’re all on our personal journey and trying to get closer to God at the end of the day! Much love ❤️

Nieces Pieces’s: Thank you. I’m sure it took a lot of prayer and discussion to do this on camera. I know my friend during our nursing capping ceremony was very embarrassed to have her cover off. Thank you for being brave enough to do this

Racheal Fernandez: I loved this!! I have been looking for an easy updo for a while. Your tutorial is the best that I have come across ! I did it along with you and I was surprised how easy it was. It is such a feminine hairstyle and I am quite pleased how it came out. Thank you so much! I have found my new updo

T and Z RV Life: Hi Megan! This was such a nice video! You know I've been head-covering for about six months or more and I love how you did your hair in the back and covered it. I am a Christian that chooses to head-cover as well. I cover the majority of my head and that's just for my own personal preference because I'm the only person around here that covers their head. I normally do my hair the way you do yours on the side, but I never tuck my hair through my ponytail and then pin it. It is great to have my hair out of the way when homeschooling and living full-time in the RV.

Charity Jaramillo: Loved this! I don't cover my hair, but I have very long hair and I love a good bun tutorial!

TJ Reyer: Just an FYI-you can get conditioning bars as well-I made this transition and it has really helped with the length of time I can go between washes❤️

Kayla Davis: Wow I love the sweetness of this video!! I am a missionary Baptist and we believe our hair is our covering!! I love seeing your perspective and your love for the Lord in all that you do!! This is so awesome to see and so awesome to learn more about mennonites!! I love your channel Megan!!!☀️☺️

Kim Gossling: I appreciate your perspectives and the sharing of your beliefs. It got me to thinking how people can be so judgemental of other cultures and faiths that wear coverings, like the hijab. I've watched videos of lovely women explaining that garment and showing how they wrap it. Live and let live. And next time I order my Native deodorant I'll look for you discount code! LOL

Darla: Followed your styling tips today and was so happy with the results. My hair is too fine for braids, but this worked great! Thank you!

Brenda Wipf: I LOVE this hairstyle and have incorporated it into my routine! It is actually how I am going to do my hair for a show that I’m in this fall! Thank you for sharing and please do more!

Chaunda Sumara: I really enjoy your videos. I've had a great experience visiting a Mennonite community here in Indiana. No matter how different people are we can always find things in common. First is the wide tooth comb. Most black women use it after washing their hair as a "detangler."

Virginia: I was raised as a Christian (catholic, although I took my own path away from the catholic church quite early on in life) and always felt interesting (and kind of confusing) how interpretation goes a long way in this matter. When my mother was a girl women were expected to wear a covering in the church, and before that, covering the hair on any occasion was a must. Where I come from, in Sardinia, we have such a beautiful culture for hair coverings, with a lot of passion and creativity into it, although now we cover our head only on some occasions and mostly for tradition (I can send you some pictures if you're interested!). Moreover, growing up I've been taught that you should only cover your head in front of the Pope! Then I got to study the history and culture of fashion and realized how much this concept, much like any other, could change across centuries and cultures, and in the case of many churches, sadly, on politics too. All this to say, it's beautiful to see such a respectful and really deeply thought choice that comes from the study and personal interpretation of the Scriptures, instead of from arbitrary decisions of someone else. Thank you for sharing all this :)

Kalyn C: Oh my goodness, I was actually able to do this hairstyle from your tutorial and it was easy and looks nice! My church doesn’t cover hair, but I think head covering does look very modest and feminine and lovely. Thank you so much for this and God bless you

Joni Weaver: I absolutely love my tri-fold mirrors and yes, they make combing hair so nice! Also, thank you for the discount on Native! I was thinking about it and thought I wish I'd have a discount. I'm placing an order immediately and give it a try! :)

Paige Marshall: I love that hairstyle. Being Pentecostal I wear my hair in a bun most of the time. I’m definitely trying it out in the morning. ❤️❤️❤️

RoamingRaven: I am "English" and my Amish friends' daughters love to put my hair in "rolls and a bob" as they call their hairstyle (bob = bun). I've started covering my hair this last year after praying long and hard about 1 Corinthians 11.. Joyce's coverings are great quality and such a good price, too!

Katie Marie: I have no idea how this ended up in my recommendations lol but I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE the energy you send out, you are so positive and down to earth. You seem like a lot of fun to be friends with :) I really enjoyed watching,

Melanie Smith: I have super long hair and love this tutorial! I'm definitely trying it out asap! Thanks for sharing!

Maureen Salinas: Thank you Megan that was very interesting. I where my hair up 99% of the time and found it so cool to know that the bobby pin faces bent side down. It indeed works better! I love the braid and look forward to trying that. Your hair is beautiful.

Cherilyn Gingerich: Thank you so much for filming this video!! I absolutely loved it, and it gave me another great idea for how to style my hair when I wear my veil.

Sharon R: Thank you for sharing! I love the twist, I'm definitely trying it. I have fine hair so I also like some lose hair too. Very pretty. On a side note I love your mom's bathroom. All the little touches are beautiful.

SJ: I just tried this while I was sitting here watching the video, no mirror, and it looks so good! I'm terrible at doing my own hair so I appreciate how simple this is

Katie: I love your mom's bathroom, for one, and thank you for sharing a bit of your childhood home. I love how relatable you are and even though you know not everyone shares your religion, you share it with us but also don't cram it down people's throats. I think you actually inspire people to learn more that way and I bet you are leading a lot of people to Christ. God bless! I am not Mennonite by any stretch but I grew up in central PA so I always came across Mennonites and Amish. It is wonderful to learn more about your kind and see how similar and how different you are! Also, you should consider daily contacts! I will never go back myself!!! You don't have to worry about contact solution! I know you said you don't have red hair but is it me or is your hair auburn? That is kind of red!

Truth in Love Mama: This is your first video I’ve seen. I love the hairstyle! I will definitely try it even though I don’t wear a head covering all the time, just with the bun. Thanks for sharing! I also do the hair push up for volume- totally not dumb! It works I have thought about head covering, and have not reached a definite conviction as to whether my hair itself is my covering or if a separate covering is needed. Just a tip for other ladies whose husbands may not be on board with head covering: I have used bandanas or scarves as headbands as a head covering to test the waters but still look “modern.” Also, Native deodorant is the best!!! I just got some. Sorry for TMI...I have always sweat a lot, but after my second child was born I have really struggled with body odor for some reason. Maybe hormones? The Native has totally fixed it! I still sweat, but don’t smell! The sweet peach and nectar scent smells amazing. If you are not happy with your current deodorant, give Native a try!

Diana T: Loved the video. Even though I don’t cover my hair, I have always been wondering how to do it. Thank you for showing it and explaining more about the covering. ☺️

XxXQuietSoulXxX: I really appreciate that you made this video. I know covering hair can be super personal for some people and I love you did this! Thank you Megan

GuitarFret: Great video. I just started covering my hair 2 months ago. My hair is above shoulder length but can’t wait for it to grow out so I can put it up in a bun. Will definitely buy those hair pins thanks for the site.

Shannon Bardwell: Your hair is so beautiful, elegant, romantic like a Victoria cameo. Thank you for sharing your faith. Truth is important as is kindness and you mesh both so well. I love you sharing your life of modesty. Modesty is lovely and flattering. I wish I had understood that when I was younger. Better late than never. :-)

Roos M: Thank you for the tutorial Megan! I personally wear kerchief style headcoverings, but I loved seeing how you wear yours.

Miranda Olson: As a Christian myself I love and respect the hair covering concept but I have to say, your hair is so beautiful, Megan! :)

Henny#1Fan: Thanks for sharing this with us Megan!! Your daughter is a mini you..really could see that when your hair was down. You are beautiful inside and out...no matter hair up or hair down :) By the way, I love Mom's bathroom!!

Pamela Hickey: I always look forward to your videos!! You inspire me to do better in my walk with God. Thank you for being brave and sharing your hair styling/covering with us. Also thank you for sharing why you do it and for giving the biblical context for it. I just love you and your little family. May God richly bless you!!

🌹Corinne Rose🌹: Love this video Megan. Thank you so much for the tutorial ❤

Joanne Buckskin: Your hair cover is really pretty Megan ....its great that you highlight how individuals may wear covers differently depending on beliefs your open mind just demonstrates your respect for diversity

debbiedew1: This is a great tutorial for everybody. Whether you wear a head covering or not , this is a beautiful updo and I will wear it everyday especially in the summer heat.

kristina xoxo: So fun to see how other religions cover their hair as well. The main difference is we only wear our covering when married! Love the video

Allison Stark: Yay! Such a fun video! Growing up in Lancaster County as a Christian with Mennonite grandparents and relatives, I am no stranger to the practice of head covering and the meaning behind it. My church interprets that passage to mean that long hair for a woman is her glory. It serves as her covering. Corinthians 11:15 “[...] For long hair is given to her as a covering.” I personally believe that this is how I was created and come to God in that way. Although, I don’t see anything wrong with covering your hair. If that is what you feel God is leading you to do- then by all means! Side note- definitely purchasing some hair pins and trying this bun! We have the same hair texture and I get the thin hair struggle

frum it up: ❤️❤️❤️I loved this video❤️❤️❤️ i am a fellow head “coverer “ (is that even a word LOOOLL ) from another faith and I truly loved how non judgemental you are and saying “you do you “ in terms of head covering. I also absolutely ADORED what you said about how the bible was, is and always will be relevant ! Sooo true! Thank you again for this video! They are just so uplifting!

Poneyfeathers Art: This is very interesting, gonna try this style. I love how willing you are Megan to have open conversation. I'm a Pentecostal lady from South Texas and I don't cut my hair. The funny thing is, I was in my twenties when I started going to church. My hair was shoulder length when I first started going to church, had been raised cutting my hair all my life. The same week I made the decision to stop cutting my hair, two or three different people, on separate occasions, adamantly tried talking me into cutting my hair. Almost to the point of trying to drag me into an argument over it. Random! Caught me by surprise because I had not told anyone out loud about my decision. It was such odd timing. It's to do with the promise. I chose in a single moment to take a stand for God by doing something different than those around me. Being seperate from the world. The spirit world, is more real than what we touch and experience every day. Been living it the best I know how, 14 years now. Love your channel! Great stuff!! Our Bishop always used to say "God is coming back for a people who have made themselves ready."

K G: Thank you so much for sharing about your hair covering with us and also showing your hair to demonstrate. I really appreciate learning more about different beliefs, and it was cool to learn where you were coming from and how you put up your hair

Sheila Hudson: I love your videos Megan :) my convictions to head cover was back about a year after my conversion 2016 ... many things changed for me and as I know the lord works on us from the inside out that’s the best way I can describe how a woman of God may start to dress and be more modest :) I read 1 Corinthians for months and felt yes a women may head cover for convictions and you ask why ppl question the hair being shown I think it’s cause the vs talks about a head covering not really hair covering as many take it :) I see it as the symbol is not anything specific like size shape color... God knows why you put it on to me the symbol is more important then the details :) I wear all different kids from garlands of grace and actually Walmart has pretty wide cloth headbands I use as well... p.s. I was never raised Mennonite but I found after many churches to land in a Mennonite church locally and I love it there :) God bless you

Nora Bartee: I’m not a Mennonite myself, but I genuinely love watching your videos! Not sure what it is but I guess the simple beauty is just needed in my hectic life!

Courtney Morris - Historical Cookery Experiments: Thanks for this - I know something like how you do your hair may seem trivial, but it is enlightening to people who are outside of your religion and I think it helps foster an understanding on things that may be different than the mass culture (or other belief systems, as trivial as they might seem. My 7 year old daughter watches your videos with me and decided to bobby pin a washcloth to her head one day... we had a fantastic discussion and biblical study on head coverings that we might not have otherwise known about.

Kallie Abigail: I'm a Christian as well. Our family is Independent Fundamental Baptist. We believe that our hair is our covering, but I agree that it can be interpreted differently. I enjoy watching your channel because it reminds me that Christians live all different kinds of lives. Ps Small Christian YouTuber

Lauren Salgado: Megan your channel is soo awesome! Your videos inspire me to be a better wife and mother, and draw me closer the God. Thank you for sharing your hair tutorial. I was surprised to see that your hair is long! I dont know why I thought it would be different lol I've been a long subscriber, and I just enjoy watching your videos and how you share you faith and family with everyone ❤ God bless and can't wait for more videos!!

Nicole Nelson: I love the French twist. It looks so cute! Thanks for sharing this with us. It was fun to watch!

Tricia B: Megan, Thank you so much for sharing you daily hairstyle routine and veiling. The style is lovely in and of itself. I have long hair and I am always looking for new ways to style my hair.

Jennifer H: Megan, thanks for speaking publicly and unashamedly about why you cover your hair! My husband and I take a different interpretation of 1 Cor 11 etc and I don't use a fabric covering (we believe my hair is my covering) but yes, the Bible is our ultimate authority for all of life and thank you for boldly sharing how you obey God's Word! Keep it up sister!

Laura T: Great video! I always wondered what your hair looked like under the veil. Thank you for allowing us to have a peek at your process.

Melissa Jongepier: I actually started looking into head coverings from watching your videos and also Lynette Yoder’s videos. I started by looking more into 1 Corinthians 11 and talked to my husband about it and he agreed that you should at least wear a head covering when praying. My church doesn’t require it , but I felt like God was leading me that way. I have started wearing a head covering and I feel like it is the right thing. Lots of people I know have started asking me about why I wear one, so it gives me a chance to tell them about how it’s in the Bible and what it says

Changing Our Hearts: I'm definitely going to try this! I also wear a head covering and often I will want a different hairstyle, so I am excited to try this in the morning! I also have thin hair, so I have that problem with seeing skin through a part!

Ginna: I don't cover but I do have longer hair. Quarantine has made it even longer. I've been trying to figure out what to do with it since my hair is thick and makes me feel like I'm over-heating. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

Jamie Yates: I LOVE your videos! You stay true to your beliefs while not judging others.

Gail Dean: You are a breath of fresh air! I really enjoy your videos, so comforting in this crazy world. I am a Christian woman and recently found out that my great grandmother was of the Mennonite faith! So exciting!

Angelica Grills: Thanks for the video. I cover too and it's nice to see different ways to pull ones hair up before covering. Blessings.

SC: Megan, you are beautiful inside and out! Thank you for your uplifting videos

Jar of Fireflies: 1) Hair covering sister here Different source but still religious reasons 2) That bathroom is awesome! She’s done a great job making it beautiful

Sarah R: to make a bigger bun I like to divide the ponytail in two and create two coils wrapped around each other! It looks fancy and full!

Reilly Kate: I veil in church and I love this tutorial! I should look into white pins so mine done stick out so badly on my covering. thanks for this!!!

small footprint: I always wondered about the hair coverings. Thanks for showing us how you do your hair and explaining the hair coverings. Very pretty.

Michele Davis: I love seeing/hearing about your life growing up and the view from your moms bathroom window, takes me back in time to my old swing set and a crop of corn in my aunt and uncles home, in Minnesota. Such beautiful memories I have of these things. You always touch my “feels” section in my heart. Just beautiful and I wish all children grew up having these loving feelings, feeling nurtured, loved and special in their families. You are so kind and your voice is really soothing. Thank you for showing us your hair style and it’s really beautiful and seems simple, but I’ve a feeling it’s one of those hard things you just make look easy. <3 I always marvel at the thumbs down tally...why would anyone give this a thumbs down? Oh well, people are all different with complex opinions.

Anna Friesen: Your amazing I love your videos and their such an encouragement for me!!I'm also a mennonite but my husband and I go to a church where basically no one wears coverings but I still do and just recently started wearing the same veil from joyce's coverings and I love them!!! Thank you for the amazing video ❤❤❤

Rachel: I feel like it's such a sweet & modest hairstyle I love how your covering is oblong!

Sharon Mason: I love how you talk about your believes but don’t condemn others at the same time. I had watched a few episodes of Breaking Amish before and they had some Mennonites on the show and it give a completely different vibe. You have given me a completely different perspective of Mennonites since I started watching your channel.

Sarah Doan: Absolutely beautiful bathroom and yard your mom has! Adorable claw foot tub, I want that! What a lovely place! Thank you for sharing your hair care routine & how you style it—very cool! I do the same thing with my pony tail. And I’m not Mennonite. So neat that you are, though!! We also use the same conditioner, I love the Suave Keratin Line! And Those basic hair clips for quick buns are fantastic! You’re absolutely beautiful inside and out. Thanks for another wonderful video!

Sunflower Girl ~ Lin: I felt that I was being called to cover my head for the last couple years and was afraid to start because no one in our church does it. Then a new family came and the mother and daughter did it , so then I started covering my hair also. It just makes me feel so much closer Him.

Fiona Johnston: Hi,Your twisted hairstyle reminds me of how I styled my teenage hair during my Catholic high school years here in NZ.Lovely memoriesAlways enjoy seeing how different people live around the globe. There are many similarities

Elizabeth Sleison: Loved your video. Thank you so much. Please, know we feel empowered by your thoughtful presentations not confused in any way. What a fine teacher you must be.

Damaris: It looks so cute ! Just done it on my curly hair , works like a charm just wanted to say you're such a beautiful soul and sister in Christ , much love from France

Sandy B: I'm going to try this twist tomorrow! Thanks Megan!! I love your mom's bathroom - what a view too!

Ajsupermonkey: The video everyone requested but no one thought we would get. Thanks for sharing!

Jody Porta: Thank you for sharing this! I love how you express your faith. And love that you show how you do your hair. Those hair pins look great. I would love it if you would share some of your faith on your channel. I am also a Christian. Your family is adorable. Thanks you so much.

cascada: Just want to point out that over 100 years ago, every Christian women going to church (regardless of denomination) wore a hat or scarf. Society has put away the head covering.

Mackenzie: We have the same type of hair. I don’t know how to french braid so I do this type of twist as my braids instead. Also I love using Batiste Brunette dry shampoo to give my hair a little volume even when it’s clean. It also adds color so for the thinner spots it kind of fills it in a little.

Ricki Kreps: Loved this video today.. .I love how you share your faith in your own way. Not judgy but more of this is your beliefs. I'm a Christian but do not cover my hair so I've always been curious about why you guys do. Thanks for a little more understanding about it. I think the way you cover yours is so stylish and beautiful. Also I LOVE native deodorant..I've been using them for about a year and love them. My fave scent is the linen and cotton one. So clean smelling. I buy mine at Walmart. Have a great day!

Sara C: It's so interesting how different people interpret the same thing. Growing up in the church all my life and we don't believe in head coverings and yet we still both consider ourselves Christians or followers. I love learning about the way different people live and the thing they believe in.

Becky Cordell: Hi Megan, I'm also a shampoo bar fan! I've found Apple Valley Natural Soap bars are great. My hair is thick, coarse, and fairly curly. Their Bella Rose bar is my favorite. I no longer use a conditioner. Instead, I'll brush ot my hair before washing, and just before rinsing the shampoo. This also helps to clean my brush or comb. Next I'll pour a solution of about 1/4 tsp citric acid dissolved in about a cup of warm water though my hair. After a few seconds I rinse. To help nourish my hair I add about 1/4tsp, or so, of maracuja (passion flower) oil to my palms and work them through my hair. This oil absorbs very well and it takes a lot to make your hair oily. The oil is also great for your skin!

Sarah Cordell: I’m a mom of 1 (soon to be 2) and I really need a good hair updo to wear daily because my hair just gets in the way. I’m not really religious and don’t cover my hair but find it very interesting your reasonings for doing so. I grew up in a religious household but we never covered our hair. I will try this hair style out though because it’s quite nice.

Diane Zacharias: I have always done my girls hair with the kind of a French braid. Always thought it was kind of feminine but kept their hair back out of their eyes when they were playing. Looks really cute.

Our Quilted Homestead: So proud of you for making this video. Great job!

Alexis Turner: Include me in the burning question club! Thank you for sharing. Loved the video and love learning about your upbringing and current family life, especially your religion. I knew several ladies when I was in college and they would wear veils over their whole head only while in church. Just another way people interpret 1 Corinthians 11. Hope you and your family are staying well!!

evelyne: Thank you for tutorial. With Covid, I have been trying to find something different, and simpler, for my hair that has become so long now.

Rachel Campbell: Your hair is very similar to mine - I love your twist braid in the front I’m going to try it.

Ybeth: Thanks for the clear explanation of how you do your hair and veil. I always wondered and now I know. ☺️

KeepTrying: Great video, much respect for you and I so appreciate all your videos!

Letitia Sheridan: I love this hairstyle. Will have to try it out!

Lainshka: Hi,I cover too.I really like your non judging explanation of the headcovering. The U shaped hairpins tutorial was the best I've come across...

Rachel Whitehead: Thanks, i literally searched how to do this and the tutorial was so hard to follow, yours is very easy to understand!!! Cant wait to try it!!!!

Melissa Andrews: I love a claw footed tub !...Yes, Girl! You are right. Head covering is a personal conviction and people are lead by the spirit in different ways. Carry on!

Faith Whatley: Hair pins are different than bobby pins? That just blew my mind and I think my buns will never be the same! Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial, especially for showing those small white veil pins. I'm catholic and have started veiling in church, but my brown bobby pins look so out of place against the white lace

JP Rudy: Growing up, my sister and I always wanted our hair put back in those “topsy tails”, as we called them. That step really brought me back!
