Hi, my name is Tycho. I am a celebrity hair makeup and fashion stylist today, we're at the fabulous B su salon and day spa here in New York City, and I'm gon na show you how to do a prom updo when doing a prom up. Do you want to make sure that your hair is not perfectly clean, so you don't want to wash it the day of the prom, wash it the day before the prom? You want to start first with doing your hot rollers and rolling all of the hair hair spring everything. First after you've removed your rollers, then you can begin putting the hair up in your prom style. Okay, so once you have the rollers remove, you want to start in two sections: first, section ear to ear, clip off the front section and then the very back section you're going to pull up into a ponytail. So you want to make sure the ponytail is very good and secure with your rubber band so that it lasts through your prom evening. Then you're going to spray the flyaways with some hairspray, so we're gon na split this ponytail in about half inch sections spray. Each section and then we're going to create a barrel effect like so that's a base of the barrel. You'Ll add a bobby pin so half inch sections spray. The section with your hairspray create a barrel with your fingers and then pin at the base of the barrel. At our last section here from the ponytail last barrel, so we've got our back sectioning completed. We'Re gon na then take our front section. Take it down for this problem style we're going to have it off to the side and we're going to split that front section. Leaving out the front inch see how we left out about the front inch and a little bit more in the fringe area. So with the part that we're taking that we're going to need that in creating a little bit of volume and to create that volume. What we're going to do is do some light back combing, I'm gon na start with some hairspray at the base. Take your comb and go down against the hair and that's going to create a little bit of a nest so that she has some volume. Now that we've done that we're going to incorporate this mid section in with the back barrels we're going to incorporate the front section as well into the back, we're just going to kind of lay it into the rest of the hair, secure it with a bobby pin. So in finishing your prom, do you want to make sure that all your bobby pins are hidden finish with hairspray, and this is how you create a prom hairstyle
