Hey guys! Today I wanted to test out the beard braid hack. This hack is great for those who are unable to braid in the back of their head or just want to try something different. In this video I show you 5 different ways to do a "beard braid." Unfortunately, not all of them work, as you'll see in the video, but a few of them still turned out cute. Let me know which beard braid hack was your favorite in the comments below! #hairhack #tiktokhair #beardbraid

Hey guys so for today's video, i want to test out the braid beard. If you don't know what a braid beard is, it's where you braid in the front and then you take the braid and you pull it to the back of your head. This braid was popular, probably like five or six years ago, so i'm actually friends with the person that started the trend. Yeah my hair was way too short back in the day to try it. It was breaking. It was very thin and now my hair is a bit longer a bit healthier, so i figured let's try it now. So that's what this video is going to be about today, so let's go ahead and get started. Okay, so i think for these hairstyles i'm actually going to part my hair down the middle. So i've seen comments on my videos in the past where people are unable to braid in the back of their head because of a disability or because of surgery or some type of medical condition, and there are some people as well. That just cannot get the hang of braiding in the back of their heads. I think braiding in the front and then taking it to the back is a great alternative. So when you braid in the front bring it to the back, it's not going to look the same as if you were just braiding in the back. But again it is a good alternative. So we're just going to try a couple styles that i would normally do in the back of my head in the front and just see how it looks. I'M going to start out and i'm just going to grab two sections on one side. And then one section on the other side and i'm just going to do a regular three strand braid, so i'm going to take the outside strand cross it over the middle. Take the other outside strand cross it over the middle. Now i'm going to take hair from my side, add it into my left side and then cross them both over the middle. I'M going to add in hair to my right side, just grabbing a strand out here, adding it in crossing over the middle. Now, with my outside strand, i'm going to add in a section just add them together cross it over that middle strand. Take my outside strand add in a section just like that cross it over the middle and we're just going to keep doing that so add in a section cross it over the middle. So i'm just going to keep adding in hair crossing it over the middle, and this would be really great to wear too. You know in the winter to keep your face warm finish up with a regular three strand braid. So then this is what it looks like. I'M just going to kind of fluff it out a little bit just kind of stretch it and that's it. That'S a tutorial. I'M just kidding now we're going to flip it over our head you're, just going to kind of spread it out a little bit and you're literally just going to flip it up over, make sure it's not stuck on your ears. So here it is, and i'm just going to flip it back. Okay and now we'll see what it looks like from the back. Personally, i would pull out some hair, like i always do so. You can see it's kind of like droopy um, it's not as tight as like a normal french braid would be in the back of your head. It is a lot looser, but i still think it's cute. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below as you're watching this so yeah. This one is the french braid. So let's try a dutch braid. It'S going to again same process. Do two sections on one side, one section on the other side like this now, instead of crossing our strands over we're going to cross them under, so i'm going to take my outside strand cross it under the middle. Take my opposite outside strand cross it under the middle and now we're adding in a section to each outside strand. So here's my section adding it in crossing it under the middle section, adding a section to my outside strand crossing it under the middle section and i'm trying to make sure i do it like dead center. Maybe i was off center a little bit when i did that first, one um but yeah just keep going so add in hair to the outside strand cross it under the middle add in hair to the outside strand cross it under the middle, keep going add in Hair to the outside strand cross it under the middle add in hair to the outside strand cross it under the middle. This is i'm not gon na lie. This is honestly making me kind of hot it's like 90 degrees in florida. Today we actually keep our air on like 80.. That'S what we kept it on in indiana and we just kind of moving to florida that didn't change us. We kept. We keep our air at 80, which i think we're nuts for, but it keeps our bill down. Um so i feel like if we had our air any lower. Our bill would just be outrageous because our bill is kind of high now. Okay, so keep going just add in here to the outside cross that under the middle and then i have one more section. Add in here to the outside cross under the middle and now i'm just kind of finishing off into a regular three strand, braid: okay, i'm just going to kind of fluff it out a little bit now, let's kind of gather it and flip that beast over pull Out my bangs okay, now let's do an elastic hairstyle! So i'm going to, i think, how i do this. I'M just going to take two pieces on each side and just combine them together, tie it off with a clear elastic, i'm just going to keep doing that. So add in hair from each side, pull them together, tie it off with a clear elastic. So this is going to kind of mimic a fishtail braid, maybe we'll see so we're just doing these right on top of each other, just kind of layering them so again. Take two sections from the outside tie them with a clear elastic. If you guys can see my nails, they're fake they're, actually from, can you hear that um they're actually from target? I don't have time to go to the nail salon. Unfortunately, don't really feel like spending the money either, and these are like seven dollars um. I know i was asked about that one time in a video. So that's what i do all right and then i'm just going to once i have all of my hair tied. I'M just gon na tie the ends together, i'm just going to kind of stretch it down and then just flip it up and then over. Okay here is this one that one did not turn out cute. I don't know where i went wrong, but uh. No, so i'm going to take my hair tie, it take my hair and then i'm just gon na open up that little hole like this and i'm just gon na flip my hair through. Let'S do this one create a hole, flip, my hair through it, and then i'm going to tighten it just like that. Now, let's take it over, oh no, i can already tell that's not cute all right, so we're learning that we can only do certain hairstyles in the front. Okay, let's do a fishtail french fishtail. So i'm just going to take two sections one from each side. I'M going to slice off a small strand from one of the outside sections cross it over to the opposite section again: take off a small strand cross it over into the opposite section. So you always have two sections that you're working with now we're gon na slice off a small strand from one of our outside sections, but then add a piece of hair with it and then cross that over into the opposite section again: slice off a small strand And then you're going to add in hair to that section and then cross them both over to the opposite section: slice off a small strand, add in a section with it cross them both over into the opposite section. Then we just keep going slice off. A strand. Add in a section of hair cross them both over into the opposite section: slice off a small strand of hair, add in a section cross it over into the opposite section. One more time, slice off a small strand, add in a hair, add in the hair, add in a section of hair cross it both over to the opposite section, and now i'm just going to keep going. So now i'm just finishing off into a regular fishtail and now let's do the flipparoo. So that is the video i was just laying out by the pool and remembered i needed to film an outro. So that is what we're doing now. Let me know which hairstyle was your favorite in the comments below there's a ton of different braiding variations that you could do. Besides what i showed you today, you could just do regular three strand, braids twisted braids rope braids. It doesn't have to be all the way down like i did just do you know small sections, take them back, but yeah, but yeah. That was it. So i hope you guys liked it found it helpful and don't forget to like subscribe, leave a comment, and i will see you guys in my next one thanks for watching mwah bye, he just ate. So he has baby food all over his face. Say: bye, bye, hey, look at the camera! Ah, look at the camera. You fix me doo!

Tiffany Word: Thank you for including the fails!! I get frustrated when I can’t make YouTube styles work, so this video makes me appreciate you and your channel very much :)

Queen Carter: I love all your videos! You've helped me so much just in like 20 min. And I love that you're so real, are a great teacher, and still include the styles that don't quite work. Thank you so much beautiful!!

・abby martin・: So cute! Nice to know I have an actual tutorial I can follow! I’m gonna try this! Thanks, Lainey!

Elizabeth Armstrong: Love it! Personally, I have never heard of the beard braid, so thank you for educating me. Idk why I missed this when it was introduced.‍♀️

Kelsea Nova: Thank you for including bloopers. It makes me feel better that even professionals mess up.

Charu Shekhar: I remember when the beard braid hack was popular in 2016! A few months ago, I did the beard braid with a 5 strand braid and with a fishtail braid! :O

Saraa🐎🐎: Loved this! Can you please do a tutorial for easy winter hairstyles for all hair lengths

D Jones: This is a good reason not to cut off your hair if you can't reach around to braid. Inspiring!

Sarah: Definitely going to try the first beard braid on my long 3B curly hair! Love the nails, too! Could you link the nails for me? Love your videos - always helpful!

7027CATHY: Looking at the braid you did as a Dutch braid, it turns out as a French braid and visa versa with the French braid, turns out as Dutch braid when you flip it, because you're looking at the opposite when flipped. I love ❤️ your humour and open mindedness to experiment with possibilities of the beard hairstyles. Great tutorial, I have tried the French braid before, but never thought of trying other braids as well. Thanks for the inspo will give them a go. ❤️ P.S. The baby is so cute.

Mari: I had never heard about this before. The braids look kind of cute even they are loose!

Brie B: This isn’t a braid for me, but the Dutch braid actually has potential! …also, I love press on nails too!

Melissa T: OH MY GOODNESS. I didn't even know this was a thing...?! My cousin and I used to do beards like this (although not as elaborate) just to be funny when we were younger. I am sending her this video right now. I really like the way the french fish tail one turned out.

Helen Bunter: I had never heard of this and I tried it the same day. I have been stopped twice whilst out at the shops and asked about it. It was really admired. Didn't like the look of the fishtail.

Laura OHIO: Never heard of it the first 2 were very pretty! The others looked complicated.. either way… your hair is beautiful for any braid❤️

JC Lasley: My hair is 40" long and my arms give out trying to braid my own hair in the back. I'm getting tired of side braids and bun's.. lol.. question:: do you part your hair in the back?? If so, how do you keep the separation line from showing?? Thanks!!

Mrs. Marks: Baby boy is growing so fast! Also: *You rock a beard, nicely. *80 degrees? With that Florida humidity? Whew! *You mentioned Indiana.. are you also from the Midwest? You do have that easy going, Midwestern charm about you. *I will now be checking out Targets nail section. * I'm gonna give these braids a try.. thank you for doing this one. Stay blessed.. you and yours.

Emily Best: I love your videos!! You made me LOL in this one haha keep your face warm in the winter lol!!

Justine Whyte: These are neat, thank you! What you said at the end of the video made me think about what it would look like if you just did a braid with part of your hair, leaving the rest down, and then flipped it over your head. I think that would be pretty. If you do it, take a pic and leave it here or do another video please. Thanks!

Shelly Shuck: You gave me some ideas to hide the frizzy ends thanks a bunch

Emelie Lööv: I don't know if anyone else already commented it, but as you FLIP your hair, you do actually also flip the braid. The french becomes a dutch and vice versa. If you would have thought about that whilst doing the video, maybe you'd like the results better :D my hair has grown soo so much after caring and carrYing, pregnancy yeah you know.. but I'm a total failure when it comes to braiding it on myself. Especially on top the crown or in the back over all. It's so frustrating to have such long nice hair but not be able to do beautiful hairstyles with it....

Leslie G: Those were interesting for handicapped or challenged braids if cant reach back easily. I recently had a good trim, will have to wait to try these hair styles. Don't sweat the failure's this time. I liked you left the video as is. I foubd it sweet of you! God knows I have moments of such! (Nerve damage in both arms.) But, I still try. Sometimes I can achieve "some" sometimes. . Sometimes not. When it doesn't work out I simply pin back top hair with a barette, pinch a little for a little volume on top, mildly on bvb the sides. Then twist all of hanging hair at base of head, neck fold upward, a little more twist, folding loop once more downwards, tuck ends then use medium claw clip in the middle. It's not fancy, but often looks pleasant enough for me. Physically limited with arms, neck to do hair. Thank you for all of your shares! I share your video's with someone that has way thicker hajr than my own.

Ilsa Galvin: I agree w/the prior comment... Thank you for including the fails. That way we won't waste our Time. I like braids that are off The neck. These low ones... I just don't like the feel of them. Thanks for making the vids. I Always enjoy them!!!

Lacey Fontenot: I don't know why but it gives me the "grandmother" in Little Red Riding Hood I think the regular French braid looks kinda like a waterfall braid

uR mOm: you’re so pretty! ❤️ I’ve been watching your vids for a couple days and you’re amazing, you’ve definitely got a new subscriber

Meleinna Patterson: Still working on this but thanks Lainey!! luv u!!

Vicky 220: Looks cute. I never heard of beard braid to recently. I've tired it & doesn't work for me. It would of if my hair was still longer & one length

Jenn B.: My hair breaks and gets thinner as I grow it out-how did you get yours to a healthier state?

Rowan Manchester: Thank you!!! Love your videos!

Hazel Coggane: That was the funniest worse hair tutorials I’ve ever seen. Won’t be copying your hairstyles that were very very bad but I am in love with your determination and presenting funniest thing ever we’ll done you. Xxxx

A Warnke: The french looks like a Ducth when flipped. The Dutch looks like a French when flipped. I'll have to try the fishtail that way and rope braid those are ones that are hard to do on myself.

Steve Ande: That looks very beautiful

Phoebe Embry: I loved it

Татьяна Ротанова: beautiful work!!!

Prashna: I tried the 3rd one before from fast videos of hair hacks and it turned out so bad. I gonna try first 2 now

Emma: The elastic fishtail did not look cute because when the braid is flipped over your head, the final hairstyle shows the underside of the braid. If you want it to look good, when braiding your hair in the front, place the pieces of hair behind one another so when you flip it over you will see the fishtail effect

Louie Riggs: You should talk about fast hair growth shampoo to double hair growth.

Norma Agnew: love the second one.xx

Stories of Shweta: Awesome one dear ..love your work ❤️even I have started a YouTube channel during lockdown when I lost my job

Gal Golf: Hi Young Lady! Watching from over in Destin! Love your talent!

Kathy Wenthold: I think it’s lovely!

Believe: Why don't you get solar to run an air conditioner? How long do your Target nails last? Thanks for the vid. New subscriber.♡

Arras10: It kind of looks like you’re wearing a bonnet I like it, seems more of a classy/formal hairstyle

Luke Roberts: You’re an awesome YouTube channel.

Hazel Coggane: live in uk but I do think USA tv should pick you up amazing presenting in a non comedic style x

Tracey Wassenberg: Not my favourite, but thanks for sharing!

Arras10: Lol when the elastic breaks

Hermine Nazari: Thanks

Kelly Dukepoo: I like the first one best. Baby is so dog-gon cute!!!

Ozzy Vr : Awe:) You're so purtiful

Maryum Ahmed: Hahaha too frustrating I tried and gave up

Gina Galluccio: Fishtail looked good but what a PITA doing a fishtail in any capacity. Got any good fishtail hacks? Blessings to you and your cute kids!

mojtba Alaod: ❤

Patrick Romero: Wow cool

Gal Golf: Ramp up your ceiling fans!
