Hey it's Shaunell and I've got Cetera here from Pretty Hair is Fun, and this week's hairstyle tutorial is a really cute braid that we are calling the Winter Braid., Because it's FREEZING here it's about 10 degrees right. Wasn'T that what it was last night We've got tons of snow and we are going to go. Do some sledding, so we thought it would be fun to call this a Winter Braid.. So to begin this hairstyle you can see. I have curled her hair and this is more to give her some volume up top and then to make the end of the braid look pretty.. So I do that for volume and for texture you don't have to. If you already have some texture in your hair., I'm going to comb her hair back with my fingers up top and this braid will be an angled braid, so it will go from one side of her forehead to down behind her other ear.. We are starting on the right side., So just like with a french braid or dutch braid, you will section off part of her hair and the only difference with this braid is. You are going to have two small sections and one large section.. So it's a three strand braid one big, two small., So you just start braiding like normal, and when you have the big section you will add in a large chunk of hair parted up from her face.. Now, when I cross over a small piece, so I will take a thinner piece of hair and add that in. Small piece of hair, thinner, section large piece of hair, larger section. At the end, we'll pull out the large chunks to make it a pulled braid. But just those sections., That is what gives it its unique look. Just continue on this angle over to her other ear.. I am pulling it tight right now, but I loosen that up at the end., So I'm down to where I have almost all of her hair pulled in from her head. This last section. I will pull all of it in and spray it a little bit with hairspray to give a little bit extra hold. Since her hair is so slippery.. I will actually leave her hair in a ponytail style. Since her hair is curled., I am braiding it down. Just a touch, then I'll, take a clear elastic and tie it off right behind her ear., So come to where the big piece, if you can see it - and that is the section that you will pull. - Just pull the edges, which is what gives it this cool Winged effect., I am only pulling inside the braid, not the hair that has been added. Only pull the hair that is wrapped through the braid.. Hopefully, the visual will give you a better explanation than my words.. Keep readjusting as you go.. Don'T be scared to pull them out a lot.. I think we are about done.. Now I will cover up this elastic., Take a small piece of her hair that is longer from the ponytail and wrap it around, and I will use a small bobby pin to grab this end.. You can see this tiny little bobby, pin they work great for these., Open it up and slip it down inside the back, try to get it in the elastic which is better.. You see how this (, the braid ), isn't right next to her head. I did that on purpose, so the bobby pin won't poke her in the head at all., Just fix the ponytail and then I'm going to spray it a little bit to get some of these flyaways down.. You have the front view of her little'wings'. We call them. That is our Winter Braid, we'll give you the back view and side and the front view.. We hope you love our Winter Braid, do your own recreation and mark it with hashtag # phifwinterbraid and post it on Instagram.
