Everyone Kaleigh your friendly neighborhood hairstylist here and today we're trying out deep wavers for the hair. That'S three different price points: low, medium and high. Let'S see how it goes so, as per usual, I've been stocking, hair Instagram and I feel like everybody's using these deep flavors, and this is gon na, be the texture for summer 2020, and I want to know whether it makes a difference whether you buy a cheap, Deep waver or an expensive one, because if you're trying to try out a trend, usually in fashion, you hit up forever21 fashion, Nova, she and like all that kind of stuff cuz you don't want to spend money, does that apply to hair? I want to find out and of course in this effort, I'm going to bring in my sister Anna Laura for that big long, hair action, we're calling it big because look at her hair today we have something coming out: you're gon na see what did this to Her hair and what did this to mine cuz? This is not heat sales at all anyway, so I actually have been trying out one of these deep wavers for a few weeks now and I feel like I've gotten some tips and tricks under my belt with how I like to use it. You have never touched one of the I have not, and I've been watching you like practice it. It looks so easy when you do it, but I feel like this is gon na, be one of those expectation versus reality, things maybe let's get into it. Alright. So the one that I started with came in PR. This is from Bondi boost it's an Australian based company. This is, I believe, ceramic and basically all of them. Are this like to barrel thing here, one here and then it's got the clips on either side. So your hair goes in basically like a giant crimper and this one retails for about $ 60, and so I also have one that Amica sent me which retails for around $ 100. So I want to see obviously how that does and then I went on Amazon and basically like 50 different Amazon sellers are selling this same like Aliexpress waver, so you can actually buy cheap waivers in different barrel sizes. I tried to buy these in all the same. This has got ta, be smaller, oh yeah. Actually, it does have to be smaller, so the smaller the barrels on these guys, the tighter your waves are gon na be, and I think the really key thing: here's that we're trying to stay away from 2004 waiver right and enter 2020, and I think one of The ways of doing that is to stay a little, looser. Okay, so we'll see, I think, it'll be really interesting to see if, like the price point, plays a big difference in the weird length of it's like the cheaper, you go with the curling iron, the less hold you get, so this should be interesting. Okay, so our criteria are going to be heat up time, ease of use, immediate results and long-term results, long term being like a couple hours, yeah, okay, so the way this is gon na go because normally we do two against each other cuz. That way, we can do one side in the one side, we're gon na test all three and then we're gon na choose our players, so this is basically like from fantasy suites to final two all right. Well, let's give it a try. I already have heat protectant in my hair. You have you protected in your hair, all right, I'm turning on the bun, I think how long it takes to heat up all day is in Celsius, but I do 160 or 180 Celsius typically. So that's what we're waiting for it to heat up to dun dun dun, dun, dun, dun, okay, almost exactly a minute 103! So this one much smaller! So that's definitely like sheet metal, real sheet metal, whoa yeah, the middle one is much hotter than the outside ones. Whoa this is such an experience. Okay! Well now that we've pulled them all out, the Bondi boost is actually much bigger, which means it's gon na be a looser wave. So that's gon na be the key point of difference. Given I was trying to match this, I think this is probably gon na be one of the only ones on the market. That'S this size. I think this is actually smaller than the Amazon one. All right. Actually, the Bondi boost one is gon na, be the fastest one. Yes, 104, so just by like one second all right. Well, we did the touch test, which we don't recommend that you do at home about the same. So much sturdier. If we're talking real tea, cheap plastic really, like here really heavy here squeaky this glide, pretty it's still plastic, but it's weightier it's true and then hopefully you're paying for the internal electronics as well. They can have technology. That'S constantly reading the temperature, that's regulating the temperature! That'S keeping it accurate to what's on the dial, whereas if you have a cheaper thing, that's one of the things that's really easy to skimp on is the technology and then obviously like the quality of the materials, the quality of. What'S actually going on your hair, that's the other things that kind of contribute to the cost factor. Alright. So for me, I have to section off the middle portion of my hair because crimping this is a joke. Let'S set a baseline expectation, let's try the middle of the road first, so I'll show you guys, even though I already know how this works, but I can remind myself yeah open yeah close you let it sit for like a couple 1000s open it and there's your Texture, Wow yeah and then, if you want, you can like match this up and you can close it again see when it's short, it's a little hard right. I just try to get a little bit in it and then call it a day. So what I'm noticing is that my hair took the shape really well, I'm noticing that my hair looks shinier after having been put on it, and it was obviously really easy to use all right so now, you're turning and I'm just gon na step a little bit. This way, so here's one thing that I learned already: if you could do it like this, it actually creates a crease. Oh, so you wan na yeah. You want to make sure that the hair is going in flat and then curving into everything else. All right. It'S not as deep as it was online. I did take a slimmer section and my hair is finer girl. If I took any smaller, it would take me three hours to do my hair, that's good to know like for fine hair. That worked just fine for me, and I can do this in like 15 minutes, but you're right. That would take an hour. Let'S see how this goes. Okay, I feel, like it looks less sleek and like look at how smooth and shiny this one is versus this side happen. Oh the handle sitting hot the classic tool, yeah Bondi booths handle actually gets hot. I have to say that this is going to take me. Five ever well, I think this one took better on you than the bond day. One did yeah, which is funny. I love the bond guy one, but I think maybe because your hair is a thicker than mine right and longer it might not be the one for you. So I'm a good time yeah all right, Amica, let's see what you can do, oh yeah. It took much better and it's much prettier yeah. So let me let down Bondi and show you guys, so we've got this one, which is like definitely wavy this one, which is a lot less wavy. I think Bondi is a little shinier and this one's a lot more textured the experience putting that one in was so much nicer, it's a more like soft ceramic, so the hair, just kind of like nestled into place a lot easier. Let'S see what you think I like this a lot all right. Let me see the two they're different, but also very similar, so now that we've tried them. I say we compare the expensive one versus the cheapest one wow. This feels so cheap picking it out, because these have the same barrel size. So they're gon na be the clearest comparison and we can show you guys the Bondi boost results later you want to start with high I'll start with low sure I am gon na keep a side part, because I think I would look actually crazy with this texture. In the middle part, I agree because I got the short hair it would poof out and I'd just be like a broom, I'm gon na go ahead and section off the back and get this one sight out of the way. So now I think, while we use these, let's get into the tips and tricks. Okay. So first thing you know what I notice this one has the clamp going down on the outside. This one has them going up on the outside. So that means that for this one, to avoid a crease, we're gon na hold it this way, so that the hair goes straight on to it and then does this and for you, you're gon na hold it more down. So the hair goes straight on to it and then does this next up of the day. So if you're watching this, I assume that you want to buy one of these and create this texture on your hair. So let me educate you on how to do that. No matter which one you buy. First of all, you want to be taking a horizontal and slim sections. So like little rectangles like this across your head, you don't want to be picking up like a whole like chunk of hair and putting it on because then it's not gon na evenly get the heat and you're not gon na get a nice even wave out of It you're gon na feel like you're, not letting down a lot of hair at once, but you're. Also not gon na do a lot of sections per Harry you lay down. Can I point out that this smaller barrel is so much easier to use on my short pieces, because the whole thing is shorter, with the Bondi boost one it's so wide? I can't get all of this section of my hair on it. So I really appreciate that. I'M able to do that with this one. You have short hair for the bottom section. You know it doesn't need to be pretty. It just needs to be something all right. I'M gon na illustrate sections I'm gon na drop down. So I have this much. I'M gon na take my finger in a straight line and drop down, basically another inch okay. So I just let down this section and normally I'm used to letting down a section, and then you have to curl like three or four pieces from it with this kind of hot tool. It'S better to let down one section and only need to do like this. One piece, and that way you get really good even result takes about the same amount of time. It'S just more sectioning. So here you go. This is the size that I'm taking and do my best to get in here, but you also don't have to be precise, which is nice because uh it's real hard to do. I'M not gon na want to use that cheap one after this Wow yeah. You look like you're swimming through that I am that was so fast. Another thing you can do if you don't want the flip out like that, and this is the length of hair. You flip your iron over like this and now the end of the hair is going in instead of out see now it's under, and it looks much better and now another section. The next fun trick is that you can put this in diagonally and set it straight up and down. I think that's probably gon na happen, naturally for most people, because your arms get sore. I just created my first trick. What'S your first trick, ceci, I was really annoyed at how these ends were coming out. Doh I do all of my clamps and then at the end I just win it out. Oh other thing, if it comes with a glove like the Amika does use the glove. I'M pretty fearless when it comes to burning myself, but I have almost petrified my entire hand like multiple times learning how to use this thing. So it's long hair, it's not as treacherous. Oh also. I think I need to call this out. Cuz he's gon na be a buddy for a little while see this guy this little band-aid. I was cooking and I got boiling cooking oil like this on my finger, so I think for the next few weeks you guys will see this guy. Just my little buddy light it out. She taught me a thing you're. Looking a little like a mermaid last section for me seeing your results, I would definitely start taking just like little sections and do them like really different. You don't need to redo a hundred percent of it. You just need twenty percent of it to look totally different. Okay, how's it going good that made a difference, though I do too all right here we go so I'm going from thirty dollars to a hundred dollars. You'Re going from 130, that's a lot hotter whoo-hoo! Oh there's a difference! Oh crap! I don't want to do it. Do it moment of silence for Anna Laura I'm just gon na wait. I just want to see her reaction. Oh it's weight. Afraid they'd seen rage Kaylee its cypher Raige Anna Laura. Well, it's so much easier. I thought it was user error on the first side not to blame my tools but doing a lot better on this side. Great love that for you, I'm testing redoing, a piece that I didn't like now and that stills not making my hair happy today with a little bit of moisture. That is the Amika dry conditioner, because a lot of times once you've heat styled hair to capacity. Then any it's a bit more moisture to retake a curl she's, still a little mad, but she's much better. So how are you feeling how's it going? I don't talk about it. Alright, next one I'm going so much faster on the other side. I would have done this entire section in order turned out great I'm going to split it in half, because the sides us because this iron is really efficient. I am being a lot more purposeful to mix up the way that I'm putting the iron in okay. Well, we've got it all in now the amico one so much easier to use yeah the early, but I kind of like the looser side better. I like it being not quite as creepy like. I feel like this one ended up very defined yeah yeah. I don't know what to say, I think initially, I like the cheaper one better on the first round, so it's really good that we're gon na do the wear test, because I feel like that's where the difference usually is so I think that's gon na be that Does work there for that one? I think this one. Maybe if we just did some things differently, we could get a little a little looser result. So maybe when we tried the Bondi boost one, we can try. Looser sections are bigger sections and see if we can get a loose weight, you can try around two of them. Make oh yeah yeah sounds good, but now I think we need products. I think you need some shine and some definition. So I must say and he's the glass action from Amica and I want a little bit more texture and definition, because my texture is gon na fall throughout the day, even though right now, this is about the amount that I want to walk around with I'm gon Na use, first of all, the crispiness dry working texture spray. We know I love and that's just going in at my roots and then for you, for definition, I'm gon na say maybe the tiniest amount of this scrunched in then I'm adding out the igk down and out dirty spray. This is my beach texture, texturizer of choice. Just adds a little bit of definition and wave and grit without ever being too much we're making my hair fall. Haha I'm wearing platform heels great a big day. We went out in public like this. With the same thing, I changed, so we didn't have the same shirt color on that would have been a lot also. This is from a thrift store. This is definitely not real. We need allies at a flea market. Also when we were out, I don't know. If we're like, if this is just like our texture or what but like man, did we get hit on that was crazy? Was it the hair, it must have been? I mean we're, not looking. Well, I'm still just a scared potato when people try to flirt with me back to the actual point at hand, so I don't feel like my curls fell at all as they did. They fell the exact same. They did cuz. I can still tell the defined and the wave yeah both of our hairs. I thought this is where this little guy was gon na fail. It'S surprising how well it stayed, and it's surprising how similar these two are. I will say I think site on both of us is a little frizzy, er yeah, who fear. I don't hate it, but it is like fluffier. But the thing is this one $ 70 more expensive than that one. As far as appearance goes, I don't know if appearance wise, it's $ 70, better, I'm just saying also these are cold. Obviously, when you're using it, it's a little bit more of a $ 70 different yeah like using it. This one is like a sports car versus like a Toyota Corolla, I can say, because I owned a Corolla for like five years. I think you could get so far like the cheapest one. Honestly, surprisingly, good the results are surprisingly similar. It'S just the process and if you're, a patient human who likes to save money, that ain't gon na make a difference for you. If you do have a whole lot of hair, you have the extra money to spend, or you see yourself using this a lot. I think this one is worth better. I will reach for this one more all right. So then we have Vonda boost still to try. This one is right in the middle and only $ 30 more. So this is what we're gon na come back and try and see how it does we're. Also gon na see if we can get a looser result with this one, because that is my biggest con against this and my biggest deterrent from using it again, because I would prefer about 30 % looser than I have right now. I'M really excited to see the difference of like the bigger barrels on my longer hair like on yours. I think it definitely takes it from like crimping to like just a subtle waves, yeah yeah next time, we'll be back a little test, ease, hey guys, guess what is they do? I was trying this stuff out we're gon na go for some looser waves. Today. Guess what happened over the weekend? You got 5 miles. I tried to give myself fresh nails and we're just gon na ignore them. It really tried to do normal nails with a gel coat and what had happened was I got in the shower and the gel came off the top and the normal nail polish stayed gunky, and now I have water, marble nails, they're, not the good kind, what it Actually did this weekend was I braided my hair after I shower? Oh, I woke up. It already looks kind of cool with just the braided texture, and then I used the different crimpers to try out how they oh wow, okay, the phone natural curls. We did for fancy programs. I was that I did find that it was a lot easier to only do a couple of pieces, because it's a lot closer to what your actual texture is when you took the hair out, so it is actually better for that specific method. One thing that was fun that happened. Would you like to try to turn on that pink waver? I did try each and every one of them I found the Bondi boost was a little bit too wide for the braids that I did on my hair and the Amika one worked really well. I went to try the pink one and it got all the way up to 180 degrees and was still cold. The second time that I tried to use it. We have that on tape, roll that clip nothing's happening yep, the temperature is climbing and nothing is happening. Oh well, no, it's actually getting hot. Actually, no, it says it's a hundred and thirty degrees Celsius, and I can do that. It'S like shorting out it's for sure, like it's also making a weird noise. Well, anyway, I enjoyed that method. I want to keep playing around with it because I felt like I did my braids. It was a little too tight a little too foofy when I took it out, so I'm gon na loosen them next time, but it did work and I think it works better. With the waiver than it does with the curling iron, if you only want to touch up a couple, a piece of Wow, you heard it here, folks all right cool. Well today, maybe you should start with the bomb guy cuz that one's you're just using it exactly as is, and I'm gon na play wrong with the Amika and see if I can figure out, get some tips and tricks yeah all right. So currently we just started social distancing, I'm hoping that's going well. I hope everybody is well everybody's, taking care of themselves and I'm excited about it. My introvert heart has been made for this. I'Ve been preparing my entire life for this moment. I, on the other hand, I'm not very excited about this. Just up the news of not being able to like go out and see my friends, I'm like we are very, very lucky that we get to continue working exactly as normal. I mean a little different. Our brand partnerships have really slowed and paused, but as far as making content for YouTube, yeah definitely slowed down just because everybody's, like not in the office and I'm busy washing my hands right now. If, on the other hand, you're watching this and we're still social distancing, you know consider putting a mask in your hair, maybe trying a new hairstyle that you've been afraid to wear around cuz. You don't know how it will work on you. I like this. This isn't much cooler, vibe mmm-hmm, I'm having a hard time making this. Well, it's a smaller iron yeah, it's really small, there's only so much you can do a maybe if you like, clamp and slide actually a good idea. Your little clamp and krycek actually did work. Really well with the jewels, we just love that joke around here, all right, how's that do. I need to know. I like that lock, so I'm gon na put in some dry texturizing spray ah saved it. Not only is this friends, this is the Pottery Barn, ex-friends collab, for the 20th anniversary that may have been the most excited you have ever been for a PR attack. I don't know how I got on that PR list, but I almost cried because it was all this friend. It was two different friends: mugs. It was a friend hello. They gave me a gift card to get other friends March. I mean she's still not over it. I'M still not over it for the rest of my life. I won't be over it that little fellow sitting upstairs I love it. I swear. I was not like skipping things and doing a bad job, but it really looks like I was, and that is getting annoying pup, sir. Oh no, you won't like her when she's pups up crying my hair off for you bond. I boost give me some waves. Litter layers went down that entire piece. It'S I say, give it a break and continue. You seem a little pup set. Oh yeah, I just like. I really don't like spending time on things and then them looking like. I didn't. Do anything I understand the pup setarrif for sure alright? Well, let me try over here. This is really stressful to use on the bottom layers of your hair. I, like that, oh hey! Well, I like the bond I signed on me better yeah. My hair looks like I didn't even touch it on the other side, so yeah, a tip that I forgot to give last time, is that when you do move down a section, you want to make sure that you're not accidentally like resting and like pulling this hair Back straight cuz, you're gon na pull the wave back out of it. That'S how that works! Physics actually important for gals of long hair, yeah, cuz, you're gon na, have to clip and move multiple times where it's like me. I don't even know if I did more than once on most of my pieces and swish okay. So officially I think I really like the Bondi boost as far as like the big loose wave goes. Not a fan of this I mean, I wouldn't say I'm not a fan of it. I think I'm just more of a fan of this barrel, size yeah, whatever size. That is, I want the Amika everything in the Bondi side, yes, okay, so that is all of it in use. You have now seen everything used on our hair. You'Ve seen a half in half you've, seen braids and crib, so you've seen all the stuff, let's break it down and pick our favorites okay. So the $ 30 one. Let'S talk about it before it's shorted out and obviously didn't work anymore yeah. So if we got one that continued to work, it actually did work fairly. Well, it was cantankerous. You have to be a lot more careful with it. The heat was uneven, like it's cheaper, it's kind of like a forever 21 shirt versus like a higher like a well-made shirt like you, can only wash it twice yeah, it's gon na fall apart. It might be see-through, but it gives you the trend. This hair is going to be a trend for the summer, so I think potentially one of these could last all summer. Ours didn't, but maybe if this is something that you're like. I don't really want to use this that much, but I wanted a few times then sure yeah, I'm sorry if it stops working at the second use. You know Amazon has a really great return policy, so utilize that if you need to all right moving on to bondi bondi was interesting in that it was the middle of the price range and it was so much larger. So the results it gave were patently different than the other two better light: a separate yeah. It has worked multiple times compared to the Amazon one. So if you like the loose - and you have 30 dollars more to spend, I would do the Bondi yeah overall really liked that one gon na keep using it. It'S been my favourite on my hair, for, like a day to day. I know I was like having a hard time with it, but especially when you told me that about dragging it and keeping the tension, not in the part that I had already curled, it worked so much better. So I rescind all of my negative thoughts towards it. I really do like the size of these waves a lot better than tight crimp. Just on me personally, I'm gon na buy my own. Then we move on to amico. I think else got close to touching the quality of this one. It'S even heat the heat stays even throughout the handle doesn't get hot, hey, glides, really easily the hair doesn't catch. On anything I mean it is the easiest of use by far, and it is $ 70 easier to use than the pink one. Absolutely my only kind of con, for it is that it is that tighter wave, which I can rock on my shorter hair and I did enjoy for a couple days. I mean it's kind of hard for me because, as far as quality goes a plus plus close plus ten times, if you like the deep wave, look, a plus plus plus with plus and recommend wholeheartedly it just comes down to do you want the deep wave or Do you want the loose wave right and that's entirely up to each and every one of you right? So I would say for me my two favorites are this hundred dollar one versus the bog light boost, which is at $ 60, would use the $ 60 more. Just because of my personal preference, so all right, so the question I asked at the beginning of the thing: is it worth it to she inside the curling iron situation? Yes, you just have to go into it with the same expectations as you do with she and romwe and forever 21, and then, if you want to make a commitment to your hair, styling wardrobe and pick a thing that will last for seasons and seasons and seasons, Spending more money is the way to go just like with clothes, and so it really just depends on what you're looking for at the end of the day, I'd love to hear in the comments which one do you think fits you the best and would you buy It I want to know, I think, that's it all right, I'm real happy with this video. Avery McDowell: “I’m still just a scared potato when it comes to flirting.” I have never related to one sentence more in my life. I feel you Kayley!!

Luz Noelle: "You probably watch this because you consider buying one" - No, I'm just watching this because I love watching Kayley

beth lucia: I have never tried a hair waver so I am very interesting for trying this new product. My personal favorite is the Amika Waver because it had a cleaner, slicker, prettier look on both of you girls. Just my thoughts! Love you girls!!

Mal K: If you like this look but don't want to get another iron, look up the "Nu Wave" which is essentially doing the same thing with a curling iron.

Isa Unpingco: I’ve been using the conair plated waver for years now. I absolutely love it!! Gives deeper waves, but can be used for this style

Kristy The Crafty Papersmith: I have the bed head a wave we go hair styler and I love it. The middle barrel is adjustable, so you can get tight or loose waves. And it's affordable. I've had mine for a couple of years with no problems.

Roni S: I have a deep waver from years ago and I’m so happy it’s back in style. I have naturally wavy hair and my hair holds the wave better than any other style. I love the volume and that it looks just a little crazy lol

Me: I bought a hot tools deep waver (the black and purple one) 7 years ago and it still works wonderfully. It was about $30 and totally worth the money. I like the tighter waves (the ones you’re trying to avoid here) but if I just put it on a lower heat setting it can give you natural beach waves.

TaylaF.Makeup: I bought the “Mermade” version of this after seeing it on the daily mail. $99 AUD. Used it once and it literally did nothing to my hair! Went to give it a second chance a few weeks later and the temperature wouldn’t go up or down! It would go to say 70 degrees and count down number by number. Really weird! Got my money back, but I feel as though it was so cheaply made and I couldn’t achieve the desired look with my particular hair type/texture

Amanda H: Just a warning! The Amazon cheap Curler stopped working after 1.5 uses for me AND a YouTuber called LeighAnnSays who did a video on it. They commonly fail right away!!

Eve Arcana: I have the pink one - bought it on eBay new in box- I have long hair- down to the middle of my back & I love the pink one! It’s perfect! Mine gets up to 210* Celsius which is 410 Fahrenheit which is really good! I usually clamp it down for about 5-8 seconds and it’s the perfect waves for me! This isn’t a straighter where you take it through the hair or a curling iron or wand - it’s just a crimper in a sense and will work just fine! For $20 I’m super happy

Shelly T.: I already have one! A small Revlon one I bought a few years ago. Performs pretty well, IMO. (I also had a larger Revlon one but it was a struggle to use.)

ꕥ Anonymous 101 ꕥ: I love how she’s not afraid to show her face without makeup

Amanda Davis: I have a Remington one that was pretty cheap when I bought it over a decade ago and it still works great. It's a different kind probably more like a curvier deeper crimper and the waves come out very deep.... but when I've used my friend's one that looks very similar to these ones you can barely see the waves. My length is a little longer than Kayley's with texture more like Anna Laura's. I've found that when I want loose waves I can achieve that with thicker sections so you might want to try that with the Amica one

Jamie Elizabeth: I definitely prefer the Bed Head Waver, it’s so much easier to use. I started out with the 3 barrel and struggled and then found the waver and now it’s all I use

elleminnowpee: "My introvert heart has been made for this. I've been preparing my entire life for this moment." - Kayley Melissa No one in my life understands this! Thank you!<3

Sea Life nails: I have two different wavers but haven't compared them side by side. Mine always makes my hair look so fluffy at first and big but looks better the second day. I think I would prefer to have a bigger barrel so it's more wavy then crimpy

Laura.: This is making me want to dig out my waver wherever I put it. Mine was super cheap, but pretty decent for the price, and you can change the crimp size by moving the middle barrel further out or in.

fictionalhuman: Yeah, as a person with natural deep wave texture, I am just watching this because it is Kayley content, not because I want a deep waver. Girl, we just love you!

Mimee Beck: I love this style of video where you guys are both testing things at the same time together! ALSO anna laura's outfit is such 90s vibes and i love it! also that you guys match xx

Stephanie Lynn: I picked up the Amika last spring and used it all through the summer. It’s really good quality. I have frizzy, very long hair. I really appreciate the tool. It lasts into the next day for me. Use the glove, friends! :)

Alisocks: I can honestly tell a difference between the two and the Amika looks so much smoother but also more textured. I think I would be willing to splurge for it

penchimerical: I love how AL is now on her curly hair journey, and her natural hair looks like this now

Patti Bautista: I’ve been wanting a waver for a while but all the ones I’ve seen on the market had such small barrels… until you showed the Bondi Boost one! I found a 15% off coupon so I ordered one. Can’t wait to get it and try it on my hair!

Shawna T: I bought that amazon one and my hair had stayed in the wave for a week and barely fell. It definitely does take a little while to get thru all my hair bc I have to hold it for like 10-12 seconds but it works

Natalie Fife: I have a waver by bed head and I LOVE it! I got it like 2 years ago and I use it constantly!! It was like $25 but has worked for me SO WELL! Highly recommend!! And super easy to use!

Alicia Ott: I've been using the same Revlon waver since high school 10 years ago and mine has never failed me. One tip I have for shorter hair like Kayley's is to do the top portion of your hair toward your face so when you put it back to the sides the waves are more 'S' shaped than bubbled and the waves are exactly the same on both sides. I love doing mine this way, and I get compliments on it all the time. It's really fast for me because I do it so often-maybe 10/15 minutes tops.

Sami Miller: I have an old one of these that is by revlon that still works and I love it! It is the larger barrels which I prefer. Too bad it is not mad anymore (I have this thing for like 10 years) but I saw some on eBay for around the same price and the cheap pink one!

Lisa Dixon: Y'all definitely have the best video on which wand to get - thank you!! I went with the Bondi Boost because I want looser waves. In fact the only reason I haven't purchased a wand till now is because all the ones I've seen in stores are the smaller barrel type. Just fyi, the Bondi link above does not work - it didn't for me anyway.

Jessica Nicole: Y'all said y'all got hit on..... it's something about the waves! I've used a waver back 10-15 years ago and when I waved my hair, I got hit on like crazy! I've always found cheap irons don't work as well. Love the videos!

Carlitha H: I just purchased the bondi boost waver because of this review. I have thick hair as well and the waves look so nice on her hair. Thanks for the help!! :-)

Sarah Weaver: I have the pink one and love it. It helps refresh a few of my waves on day 2-4 Mine is also from amazon, but the "allure" brand

bluehearts 201: u put lots of time and research into the products u review on your channel. luv that!! it's very helpful to consumers!

C Tran: i genuinely wish someone made a good decent middle of the road one. it's sad the bondi boost only has such a big size. i dont want to spend $120 on the amika considering i only get one look... us girls already have a dryer, flat iron, curling iron/wand/different sizes, now we gotta get THIS doohicky too?? i bought the bedhead one, which i think works ok but is definitely cheap and makes my hair frizzy

Molly Appleman: Oh man, biggest whim purchase EVER but I just bought the bondi boost waver and if you sign up for their email list you get 15% off and they have free shipping and Afterpay. So it ended up being a pretty good ideal in my opinion! Can’t wait to try it!

cheekyfaerie: For everyone saying you can achieve that style with braids...when you use a heated tool the heat bonds the hair and is going to hold the shape much longer. And some people have very layered hair and can’t hold a French braid overnight

Author Alys Marchand: I bought a Voloom because one of your videos about whether or not various hyped products were worth it. I got the petite, and OMG game-changer. I'm so glad you reviewed that because the little lift I get (I could get more, but I ain't in Texas) has actually helped my self-esteem, and I've gotten so any compliments on how much better my hair looks. :) So now I watch these videos you do to consider new products.

K F: I have a smaller crimper and I love it after I brush it out and then it gives me a similar look to this but now I reeeeaally want a big one like the bondi one! For someone that can’t curl their hair I love this trend so much

Nikki: I have the Bondi boost iron and I love it. On my own hair, I braid it the night before and do sections with the iron. If I’m doing someone else hair I’ll do all the hair using the iron

Elizabeth O’Neill: I used to use a waver all the time. I have really thin and fine wavy hair, and my hair always held it better than a curling iron or straightener.

Cathy Wiseman: You two should try the “wave formers”. My hair will not hold any wave or curl done with heat. But, if I sleep in the wave formers, I’ve got that wave until I wash my hair! Love them!

Kate Mateer: I'm just here to address that they match. Fills me with an embarrassing amount of joy.

Chelsey Sterling Coaching: Hey lady! Loved this video - EVERYONE is doing this hair now!! What are your best tips for keeping your hair waved overnight? I've been struggling hard.

Jill Stovsky: I just don't know what I can be doing wrong but it literally is making my hair straighter! There is zero wave! I"m doing it exactly like you recommended. Any thoughts?

Elly Rowe: Love how it turned out! It seems like a trend that suits the trendy shorter hair? Not enough to make me cut it short again

dovesatdawn: I'm using the Bed Head A-Wave-We-Go Adjustable Waver for Multiple Styles that I bought on amazon and you can adjust the middle barrel. I am still learning to use it but it'd be cool if you tried it and gave some tips :)

Sara Wells: I have the bed head one and like it. I have fine hair so it definitely makes my hair look thicker..especially the more layers or sections I do.

Sarah Theus: I have the Revlon waver and I love mine. I have both the large size and the small size. It works great for both long and short fine hair.

Kitty Rodriguez: I really liked the Bondi, just because of the looser curl. I can see myself using it even after the trend passes lol

Carolina Kelly: I used to do that exact same wave but with the straightener for years. Just turning the straightener half a turn while moving it down the hair. Super easy and I haven't seen any youtuber do it that way.

Jamie Monroe: Awhile back I was watching Leighannsays and the same thing happened when she used the pink one. I ended up buying the Revlon one because I can't afford an expensive one. I love my Revlon one it just gets so darn heavy. I couldn't decide to buy this or the bed Head one. Thanks for sharing!

KayGrayEngg: Long time viewer, since the green background days! Note, people treat you differently based on hair style. People approach me waaaaaay more often when I'm wearing my hair curly/wavy, then when my hair is straightened. I've determine curly is my fun look, straight is the serious look. You should do a video on that!

sherrydopwell: I had a foxybae convertible wand that did that same thing (said it was heating up but remained cold to the touch) after about 3 or 4 uses.... so frustrating, and a big waste of $. When I get too tight a curl, I flip my hair upside down and use a blow dryer and it calms them down to nice waves.

Ashleigh Sanders: I've owned the same Conair waver since 2010. I love it. I haven't used it since I chopped my hair but now I might... P.S. I burned myself curling my hair today

Joyful Times Photography: YAY!! Love this & you!! I’ve been wanting to try out a waver with my new short hair! This was helpful! ☀️

Telly9009: I love watching you and your sister work together. I was curious if you ladies could compare the 3 barrel style wavers to the Bedhead Deep Wavers?

Katie Kat: Many decades ago when regular plain curling irons were the one choice I used to accidentally burn my ears. Does that happen with these too? It seems like it would happen more with the short hair.

Jade W: I have a Bed Head waver from 2011-ish with skinny barrels but the center barrel can be spun to choose between tighter or looser waves. So it’s like having a skinny barrelled and a thick barrelled. The plate portion is on top (& has temp ctrl). I style it with it on top and pull my hair up from my head to allow the root to also be rounded up/away from the scalp (still avoiding a kink from the plate). I have fine flat hair (& not much damage) so keeping the plate top-side helps with root volume a tiny bit. But I may try doing the top my way but some sections under to help keep more length.

Jennifer W: I think the Amika wins. It do a good job (created (tight) waves) and not as the other tools, who nearly do nothing (or not much in my opinion). Why? I need a tight curl first to have curls maybe more than 1-2 hours. So it’s more worth it for me and in the middle for prize. That’s ok overall for me. Not to cheap, but not too expensive.

J E: Keep in mind that the cheaper one is probably more damaging over time. For the occasional use though... probably not a factor.

natalie tucker: i love this kind of video! the texture turned out so cute on both of you. did you guys coordinate your outfits on purpose?

Denise Fulton: I have the Revlon one- the 3 barrel jumbo waver - and it works pretty well for the price

Maggie Abney: You breezed through something I actually have a question about on a curling iron - how to get a curl without getting those kinks from the clip. Would love to see a video (or a piece of one) that includes a more in-depth how to!

Sarah Maley Farris: I would love to see another video on how to style it! (How to prep the hair, texture spray vs sea salt spray, etc.)

Katie Kat: I’m at 5:48 and you both just finished 1 strand of hair with the white curler. I think one of the reasons your sister’s hair came out flatter was because it looks like when she positions the curler further down the strand it seems like she might be putting some of the hair that was already curled back into the curler again and kind of undoing the bottom part of the previous curled part. But it’s hard to tell because hers was fast-forwarded. And also her hair has more weigh pulling down on it and maybe one of you has more or less heat-protection product in your hair. Idk if that makes a difference or not.

Seyma Sahin: are you kidding me?! i was just searching for a deep waver and couldn't find a good one. this video came like a present from heaven. thank youu xx

Just A Flower: The 3 in 1 HTG Waiver was $55 Canadian on Amazon.ca and its awesome and you have 3 options how to wave your hair. Better quality also. I love it! ❤️from

Carina D: I love your videos. Both of you have such great personalities and the videos always put a smile on my face

MsStarlet21: I have a *fluffy hair* problem so yeah... not going for the cheaper one.. and I have the extra money to spend and also in my experience *you get what you pay for* so in my life going for the more money for quality when it is worth it.. it usually ends up WAY better. It works out better in the short and long term to get the nicer little bit more expensive and better quality item. Just food for thought for everyone.

Jenna Anderson: Ahhhh thank you so much for doing this video!!! I’ve had a hair waver like those for 5 years and never knew how to use it

Ln Charl: Short hair are great on you !! You two are awsome and I wish my own short hair are as easy to curl as yours haha Thank you girls for your 'greatness'

Callum Pratt: I tried the Halo curls on my sister's short hair, it didn't work well bc she has such short hair, but it was still fun thank you

Eleanor Shaw: You are so brilliant Kayley your passion for what you do inspires me

Liz •: “if you’re watching this and we’re still currently social distancing, put a mask in your hair and try out a new hairstyle” that is exactly what i am doing lol. just put a mask in my hair and am going to blow dry and try my new waving iron! i’m excited

Jennifer Rogerson: I have one of these from Walmart, which I bought 5 years ago. It does a much better crimp then all those you have shown.

Diane: I have a very angular waver I got from target. I'm watching to figure out how I'm using it wrong, because it frizzes the heck out of my hair. Not the same tool but I figure it's a little similiar

Mirlinda Z: I actually love the amazon one.... like my hair NEVER holds a curl or wave but for some reason with this one it holds för days its crazy

Callie1288: This vid convinced me to buy a hair waver finally and I love it! Thank you

Mrs. Bobber: I love your videos and trust your opinion on hair tools! ♥️ Have you ever heard of/tried the flourish curling wand trio by twist Me Pretty? I'm researching the best wand and am willing to save up and spend some $$ for a good one that will last. Hers seems really nice for the price but I can't find any reviews/videos on it and it's been out for over a year. Thoughts?

Kassie Domino: If you grow your hair out again I hope we still always get to see Anna Laura! Love seeing you guys together just being sissies❤️

Nikki Riehle: I feel like braiding gives you a similar texture without all the heat. It’s also a hair tool that gives you a natural hair texture look if you don’t already have it. Fortunately for me this is close to my natural hair texture, I might be a bit more curly. Good to know my hair texture will be trendy this summer

rosettasilvermist: I would love to see you do this not knowing which brand is which and which is cheaper etc. I know it's not easy to do and have no idea how you would but I think it would be interesting because sometimes there's always going to be some bias. I mean this for products as well as tools I think it would be fun

Regan Wing: Amika has a larger size now (High Tide Deep Waver Jumbo) with a 1.25-inch barrel. So I think it's the same size as the Bondi one. Thinking about buying it!

ACWells13: Hair I know nothing about but nails I do :D If you're going to apply gel over regular polish you will need to let the polish dry for at least 24 hours first, otherwise it won't be properly dry and the gel will prevent the solvents from evaporating. You may also need to gently buff the shine from the polish before you apply the gel otherwise it may not stick. If your nails are sticky it could be uncured gel- remove that immediately, as it can cause severe contact dermatitis which will result in a permanent allergy to gel and acrylic!

Pandore Malone: I am watching because I love you girls, no don’t want to buy this it’s just because I love seeing you, you both are the sunshine of my week with your pretty blond hair

Glittergal101: Can I just say, Anna Laura is adorable, especially when she got excited about making up a trick

Heather Foster: It's a bit hilarious to me that people actually spend hours trying to bend very loose waves in their hair... Like why would I spend time making my hair look like its natural texture which are naturally frustratingly loose waves that I wish would scrunch tighter Even tight waves I curl in just look like I air dried by the next day... And when I curl, the curls are always way tighter than I wanted but they stay till the next wash. Can never win. At this point, I've just given up on heat styling

Krystal Bell-Green: Can you try out different wavers and different styles with the waves. I would love to see that as someone who loves waves but hates spending a ton of time on them

Nicole Lavigne: I’d love to see you test out the Revlon pro collection copper tourmaline ceramic adjustable waver. I’m very curious about this adjustable one.

Hannah Douglass: Please test all the different bed head wavers! They have an s waver, a deep waver, and an adjustable waver. Thank you!

Author Alys Marchand: How can the product make a difference in wear-time? Isn't it just heating all the same? I think you should do a "how it works" video, like how different types of irons make a difference, how heat protectant works, etc. Educate us! :D

Otter Hooligan: I can get the exact same look by leaving in some Dutch braided pigtails overnight and it does not take an hour or cost $300

Celina Giacalone: Love you guys . You guys should try the hot tools deep waver it’s bigger get a looser wave than a crimped and I find it lasts a long time

Noreen Shamji: i just ordered the bondiboost and i have medium length hair.. i am looking forward to the results :) thank you for sharing

Maggie Parmley: I bought the Amika one last summer and I really enjoy it

Sophie Faulkner: I've been waiting for this for a Long time. Currently watching can't wait to see what you girls think.

Amelia Thomas: I'm going to buy the bondi one because I've been wanting a hair waver!

Elizabeth Mata: I bought the Bondi Boost and am having the hardest issue with accidentally turning it off when opening the clip. It's so big that I don't know how else to grip it and not push the buttons.

Wendy Bremen: Leanne Says tried the $30 waver and the same thing happened with her iron on the second try.

LadyJane-Stephanie: I’m All for the Amica! It’s the best! What temperature did you both use on each one?!?
