The wave and a full net wave - Volvo, ah, okay, hey y'all, welcome back to my channel. So, yes, I'm gon na be burning my hair again, this time, I'm gon na be doing this time. Okay, I look immature. Let me just stop this time. I'M gon na be doing the wave you know. Wave navall and however, it is word right here is pronounced wave in a bowl. I think that's that's lazy, so uh, my hair is already chemically processed and I didn't do any treatment or neat well, I'm lying. I kind of put some sort of treatment in my hair, so it should be Gucci but yeah. I did the S girl in the past and my hair is still okay, but my curls are just not popping like before. I had to collect some water in my hair and put like some dirt and stuff just to get it and it's curly. A lot of people have been asking me for updates and stuff. A lot of people assumed that I was gon na be bald, but I'm still here, the only thing that I don't like about this girl is how dry it makes my hair. Well. If anybody gets an escrow, it's gon na make your hair really dry. It simply doesn't matter on what type of hair you have. I love. You are arguing with me as to what my hair type is like my hair is kinky and, like I have 40 here so yeah, I was for growth. I'M gon na show you how much my hair has grown. It'S been a while, since it's been like a year, wait I think it's been like a year. My hair hasn't grown that much. My hair hasn't grown that much at all this. You guys I'm pulling it right now and when I let it go, you can see [ __, ] yeah. You can see the difference so from here to the end. That'S the chemically process here and from their roots to here. That is the new growth. So it's the same throughout my whole head. So if I want to, I can cut about half of this, and I just start over with my natural hair journey and like it will just take me about a year pretty much to start over. If I want to my hair is my boobs right now I should change my top. It'S a decent thing. Um! I do get some breakage. I didn't cut my end, so maybe that's why I definitely need to cut some. It'S gon na sit a little bit higher. Like a little bit above my boobs, when I do cut the ends, it's a good amount to put off yeah. I am going to do a strand test. Okay, so this is step one. What is this called? This is called shape. Release I'm supposed to apply this to my hair and let it sit for along where the [ __ ] is above the instructions. Okay, fifteen minutes. Okay, it came a bit opened and I think I don't know who to blame, but I'm just gon na go ahead and mix this in. Oh, my gosh, it smells like my childhood, so I ordered this on eBay um. It was coming all the way from England. It has like a pinkish color. I don't even know if that's what supposed to look like, but it stings and I'm just gon na go ahead and apply that to my hair. So I'm gon na start from here my battery's dying, so I'm gon na. Let this sit on my hair for 15 minutes and then I'm gon na apply the wrist to the roots, because the ends are very straight and when it's done straightening, my hair, that I'm gon na come back so yeah okay. So this is what my ear is. Looking like after I left this in for 15 minutes, so now it's time to move on to step 2. These shape these rods. I bought these for eBay. I bought three pots of them through your back. Obviously, isn't enough, so I am probably gon na have to order more and also order on some more of this, because I have a lot of hair yeah. I just set my timer for ten minutes and I'm just waiting. It just focus as usual yeah. They say ten minutes so okay, so I have three more minutes if it's not fit so I'm just gon na take one off and check. I don't even know I'm going to let it stay for three more minutes, because I'm extra up - and I just want to make sure that it said it's definitely there, but I'm just gon na - be see. Hey Siri set a timer for three minutes. Your timer is set for three minutes. You go in with a little more of live breeze, her up, baby, yeah, okay. So after it said after ten minutes huh after 10 minutes processing time would cut and cotton. I ain't using no cotton right now and check to see for sufficient s pattern if desired. Leave. Mm-Hmm pattern is set rings, hair on rods orally for 5 to 10 minutes using tape. It t food whatever. That word is water if the desired wait. 10 minutes of rinsing time, Wow, okay, yeah, the desired pattern is not achieved. Read please cap and check again every three minutes: okay, wait! Every three minutes: okay, okay, okay! After thoroughly rinsing towel blot, each individual rods eliminate any excess, picked extinct, something except it says. Water left in here, alright y'all, so I'm gon na be doing a voiceover from here on out. So this is my whole head with step 1. It'S not strong enough for my hair, so it didn't really straighten my hair. That much and the really straight pieces are because of the girl that I did in the past. So this is me with the step 1 in my hair and I already applied step 2. So this is step 3 that y'all are seeing right now. So this is pretty much the final step. I was too lazy to go out and buy cotton, so I just use a towel. It was so annoying, but yeah if you're doing this by yourself definitely do do this with a spray bottle, because it's I don't know it's a lot better if you're doing this by yourself and you have really long, hair or medium length hair like me, then this Is gon na be really annoying for you, like my hands, are killing me. Do you see that little dance you see it? Okay, good. So I can see I am at the very last step, and all I have to do right now is remove this side and rinse it again with little pressure water, alright y'all. So my hair is officially finished and it's very wet right now so yeah, it's kind of looking like you know, jheri curl and remember a lot of people again. I'M looking at a lot of currently perm videos and people are saying. Oh, it's just a curly perm everybody's, just giving it a different name, we're all along. I don't know, but when it's wet it's gon na look somewhat like a jheri curl um. But when it's dry I don't know what its gon na look like when it's dry, because you know there are different types of curly firms out there. There'S a Gina curl. The Gina curl is popping the Gina curl looks really good, whereas the wave of full wave new Volvo laughs, it's pretty much like the ghetto version of the Gina curl, like the cheaper version of the Gina curl. I want to try it by. I would have to travel halfway across the world to get my hair done. I'M not gon na do that. So in my hair, my will my scalp feels a lot lighter, I'm not natural anymore. That'S! Okay with me! I don't really feel any difference right now. I'M gon na come back to y'all, with my hair is dry, alright y'all. So this is what my hair is looking like when it's wet and it's just a back view, and this is my hair when it is fried - and I love it but, like I said this step, one, the relaxer or whatever wasn't strong enough for my hair. So eventually, I'm gon na get my hair permed again, but it's like next time, I'm planning on get it, get it next time, I'm planning on getting it per micron, like touch-up or whatever here in Japan. I hope it turns out. Okay, I just uh, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed yeah

Kris Jeńe: Hey i was wondering how this is going for you now?

thefeels: Personally yeah I love 4c hair but for those who don’t have it literally don’t understand how much work it is. It’s literally like a baby . Your hair becomes your baby. And we can’t even have it out all the time because it retains little to no moisture so the moment it is out. It becomes very dry and shrunk. Y’all Dk! Literally any 4c hair girl who has hair past her chin! Give her her flowers!!! Cause you don’t know how long it took to get there !

Kiwi Orlando : Your hair is beautiful! Why are people hating on what you choose to do with your own hair?

Hairouna Empress: Perm makes your hair curly - relaxer makes your hair straight for anyone confused

Fallon F: WAIT HOLD UP, GURL YOU DID THIS YOSELF? THIS IS A $400 TREATMENT AND YOU DID THIS YO SELF? HOWWWWWWWW GORGEOUS RESULTS OMFFGGGG

Fara: Imagine how many do this and im thinking it is their natural texture hmmmm?it looks real cute though

Lalia3131: Yes, I put wave nuevue in my hair decades ago and over time it took my hair out and left bald spots on the back of my scalp. I went to a dermatologist for treatment and had to grow my hair out naturally again. Thank God most of my hair came back. I certainly support anyone who wants to try new styles and enhance their beauty, but please be careful sis. You're so gorgeous already and I'd hate for anyone to go through what happened to me.

M.Billions: It came out right. I use this on my clients. Please please please wait a few months before you do it again! If you don’t you WILL over process your hair, and WILL have to cut it all off. Make sure you trim your ends! Keep your hair moisturized or it will start to break off!! Do not put hot tools in your hair. It will CAUSE DAMAGE!! ❤️

Golden Girl: I wish there was such thing as a natural, non-damaging perm or relaxer. I'm tried of my natural hair like hell, but its not worth the hazard risk or the aftermath that will occur on the hair. Last time I got a perm, i was look like Miss Cynthia from Rugrats. I guess I'll stick to my flat twist outs and curly weave. *cries in dry type 4*.

Angel Batty: She didn’t want to have 4c texture no more big woop , I honestly thank it looks cute , and yeah it’s not natural but are those wigs that y’all wear natural didn’t think so.

Madi Silver: My mother had a Wave Nouveau back in the 80s! Long, pretty curly perm. Those were the days. I didn't think people still got these sort of styles any more. Wow. New surge of clientele.

Jessica: GIRL! My natural 4C hair is to the middle of my back. I have been wearing protective styles for a year and it grew. Someone else has been doing my hair since it has been natural. Today I took down my hair *(LIVING HELL)* and realize I have to either get a relaxer or something like this because I can't....

D JN: Loooooove this. I’m currently stalking curly perms. You’re the best for recording this process

TOBY JOHNSON: I have a curly perm and I absolutely LOVE IT!! No more tired arms from bantu knots and twists at night. No more experimenting with a thousand products just to find one that works. No more hoping the style comes out right! I LOVE IT! And your hair is so freakin cute!! Did I mention that my hair is growing like grass?!? Honey, this is it for me!!!

Bella: That looks amazing I had a curly perm for 2 years and I will say you must use the products that come with the system or your hair will fall out. My hair looked just like yours and grew about 6 inched. It started to fall out when i tried to use other products (Shea moisture, Cantu , as I am, aunt Jackie’s etc.) I’m literally begging you don’t be tempted by the smell of the other products. You will see amazing growth if you follow the process. I wanted to ask why you stop using s curl

Giggles: I heard about that Ginacurl crap. She’s charging like $950! She’s insane and I would go to a salon to get a cutely perm instead. This looks great. I assume you need a protein treatment to strengthen the hair after this process?

Beauty Business Essentials: Most natural hair Youtubers are secretly texlaxed!

stephshe100: Wow you did a great job! I had a curly perm for years and loved it until my stylist changed the products he used and caused sooo much breakage that I went natural. My hair is now back to mid back length and I would love to have a curly perm again but I just don't trust that I won't get damage again.

Mieka: I'm so looking into this. I've been natural 15 years and at this point I'm only throwing on wigs and putting in crochet anyway. My hair is thick and mo thick.

Lyn F: You're hair is beautiful and looks healthy. You're a beautiful woman as well!!!

Lolo Future: I was natural until 2 weeks ago and I was really struggling with whether to use thio or hydroxide to texturize and I went with no lye relaxers because I’ve never used thio (had a Jheri curl as a kid but that wasn’t my doing). But I like these results

NailedbyRoxanna: This is the old school Jherri curl my Grandmas used to wear. I love it and I love it dry even more! You go girl

Rochelle Ballah: I had to read the caption like 5 times to make sure i wasn’t tripping lol it turned out so pretty, you are so brave

abby iglesias: It looks so beautiful! I have 4c hair and when I was younger I would relax it! I would do this because I miss how defined my curls are but if I don’t wanna have to relax it

CaribbeanStreak: IT LOOKS SOOOOO GOOD!! I would never have the courage to do this but I'm glad you did, this is beautiful!

Whisper W: I love how all your hair content looks and turns out the most perfect/ideal way. Looks great!

N N: I didn't even know this was possible. Looks more manageable. Don't get it repermed, too risky! It looks good as is,

Xariah: The results came out amazing! Always do what works best for you xox

SunFlower State of Mind: Came out good. I guess if your hair is damaged you may as well experiment with it before you big chop or transition. I could never process my hair again unless I was going to cut it all off or transition back to natural, I got tired of having to keep relaxing my hair every 6-8 weeks, thats why I went natural.

Gaylyn Lareese: I used to be texlaxed in highschool. It was such a happy medium of curls and manageability. Eventually it got hard to get the new roots and the older hair to look the same so I cut my hair off. It looks super cute on you! Deep conditioning will be your new best friend. It’s your hair. Do what you want

Lola Amazonia: I recently got a wave nouveau in February due a touch up lol thanks to this quarantine. Honestly best thing I’ve ever done. Only annoying this is that wave nouveau tends to shed a lot of hair so use protein treatments. Really you should of let a professional do your wave nouveau cause if you get it wrong your hair will fall out!

Aquarian_Soul: This came out so nice! Cute and bouncy curls. You did a great job!

Coder Babe: I feel like she’s under a lot of pressure being 4c overseas I’ve seen her videos over the years and it just seems like she’s going back and forth in love and hate of her hair type I grew up in Japan so I felt it

Eshel Chokmah: For anyone that wants to soften the texture of their curls naturally carols daughter has a bombbb product that made my curls go from like a 4b to a 4a and it’s the curl softening one with Manuka and honey. Trust me u can’t even leave it on too long cause it reallllly penetrates sndbworks fast

mememocha1: I tried that a couple years ago on my 4c hair. I think the stylist left it on a little too long. My hair started falling out in clumps over the months. It got bad. I let it grow out and got the rest of the relaxed hair cut out. So, I'm back to my natural and its grown sooo much! I just think my hair really didn't liked it.

Stacey Mair: I remember the days of getting a curly perm..the process was painstaking..hated it..but my hair grew a lot and looked really nice when it was dry.. Yours came out fine..

Domanique Johnson: Lol I use to watch my momma and grandma get this done. Good memories. I couldn't imagine doing it at home. You go girl!

Domo: My golly, your skin is glowing and so clear! And your hair came out nice as well

Keebee 23: Hi there! I feel you, the painful arms experience is real! Lol Whenever I go an extended amount of time from doing my hair, particularly braiding it, I encounter this and need to take rests in between. If by chance you happen to experience either or both- excesses dripping while rolling or dry hair being stuck to the roller (from the product) or even some hair strands getting wrapped around the band, consider using rolling papers. They help to prevent breakage and/or excessive liquid dripping (absorb) on the face, eyes, etc.

Ashley Nicole: Whewww you’re brave doing this yourself. It came out sooooo cute

Fatoumata: Girl I wanted to tell you that I freaking love you. I don’t know you personally but every time I see your face it makes me so freaking happy !! Keep it up girl!!!

M Cooper: 9 months ago I used wave nouveau on my 4c thin natural hair. My hair turned out wavy when wet or when I use gel. It’s flatter but still fluffy without gel and I still have a puff when I put it up. I only used step 1 : shape release. I did not use the other products or curl my hair with perm rods. From watching very old videos here on YT I was aware my hair would shed. It definitely shed a lot. I also got the moisturizing lotion, it is not moisturizing. I threw it out. I kept calm and used a deep conditioner from Shea moisture the manuka honey masque. After that my hair felt better. I wore my hair in box braids and crochet faux locs for 4 months then I retouched my hair, roots only. I also did a protein treatment right after processing. I added the jheri Redding natural protein conditioner (the only protein treatment in my local beauty supply store besides Aphogee) to the ORS olive oil replenishing conditioner. My hair shed about 80% less than it did the first time I processed. I’ve been wearing my hair in braid outs and keeping it moisturized with Mielle Hawaiian ginger leave in conditioner. i haven’t used any heat on my hair since I’ve processed it. My hair has grown a lot, it always did I just find it easier to retain length this way.

Ash Dior: You’re just lovely! Your personality shines really through in your videos! I love that!

Nique-N-Pink: I remember my grandma had her beautician put that damn jeri curl in my head when I was 6 .... grease stains- wet hair- and wearing that plastic cap ‍♀️ never again but this looks good on you sis

Patrice Clark: Gorgeous! Had no idea black people could do perms. I’ve relaxed my hair in the past and have been natural for about 7 years now. Learned something new today.

Princess Yonna ♡: Cute . My hair is 3c ,4a and 4b , and it’s hard to manage but I love it.

RoyalNykki: Yes, as you stated, There are all types of curly perms, they all been around for years, I'm an 80s baby and the girls in my school wore these. Some went to the salon and got a better more professional look while others did it at home, just as relaxers. At the end of the day, it's all chemicals. But still your choice. Nice results!!

Lizfafaa: Great video! Your hair came out so nice an full I got this done almost a year ago and am in love with my result! Which products are you using for daily maintenance??

hunxue: This is super cute! And it’s awesome you experiment with these things by yourself

Quin McMullen: Looks exactly like my natural hair! Great job

42justjordan: Make sure To use the moisturizer that comes with it or else it will dry out and break

KryssiMartelli: Girl that wasn't a sample that was a whole hair section ..... Your hair looks so amazing✨✨✨ tun Han mek fashion

Ashley S: I would love to try this I’m just afraid my hair would fall out lol

D McKenzie: So happy you figured out how to finally manage your hair...I am in China so I understand how you feel @finding the right things etc. ❤️

Mikaylah Clipper: I love your hair!! I recently got a texturizer (about 1 week ago) but, it didn’t loosen my curl the way I thought it would (I have 4c too). I was expecting the type of curl you achieved in this video. I think I’ll let the texturizer grow out & try this instead.

Angela Smith: My hair looks like this naturally but I damaged it and this has been on my mind as a quick fix to me missing my curls without doing a big chop. But you did say your hair was really dry and you have to keep perming it

YoliLoves: You did an awesome & amazing job at home. I can’t wait for you to post updates!

Jenay du Toit: I feel the struggle so much. It's so hard being an African girl in Asia. You have to order things on websites just for ur hair which is soooo hard. No one in Asia can understand curly or kinky hair. I Can relate to this so much because I live in Indonesia and its hard.

A_Noelle: Looks nice. I recall about two years ago I made the comment that with the "obsession" with "juicy popping curls" we were only a step away from going back to jheri curls and the comment did NOT go over well . And yes I know this isn't a "jheri curl".

SunQueen: Sis, you can wear your hair in a mohawk and you will still be gorgeous!! You are such a beautiful young lady. Kinky, coily, wavy, straight, that's the cool thing about black hair, we can wear it however we want.

Natasha Hanley: I didn't know ppl were still doing Jheri curls in 2020. The dry result is cute.

Alecia B: It’s not that the relaxer is too weak, but the fact that it’s being done on virgin hair. Over time it will start to look better. I and a lot of my friends had our hair done with Wave Nouveau back in the 90’s as a better alternative to jerry curl. It didn’t mess up our uniform shirts.

Ifa El: Your hair is beautiful and still yours! Whew Chile! People are so weird! I will never understand being pressed over what someone else does.

Christine: This is soooo cute. I’m natural but I may try this bc I barelyyyy wear my hair out and I don’t plan to until I saw this it’s not that I don’t love my hair I do! I just like to see what I can do with it ‍♀️‍♀️

Ishmara: Im pleasantly surprised with the result. Looks really really nice ❤️

Sonhg7: It looks very natural. You did awesome!

She Her Hers M: Real story! This is what my mom had done to my hair by a professional to make it more manageable and it broke my long thick hair out and what was left had to be cut inch by inch. Please ladies be careful. I’ve heard the story for years from family who would talk of how long and pretty my hair used to be.

Sky Jones: I’m 40 and I had jeri curl and this is that I don’t understand why everybody’s getting mad everything come back under the sun ☀️ everything

Chanel Flowers: I just brought some bundles that are just like this and I love them!!! I've always loved curls. My sister's had j-curl back n tha day but I was a straight back ponytail kid...still is lol

TABIBITO: This came out really pretty!

Winter Blain: Its looks natural and beautiful coco use the same methods and i think the strength of the cream was ok don't go any stronger or longer. the curls wont hold and looks like strings. Good job coco. Wave nouveau is a old school.look the colour popping

TeeEbonyTV: I wanna do this on my heat damaged pieces. My hair looks like this while wet and I always leave it in a “wet look”. I didn’t realize I was out here looking Jerry curlish ‍♀️

livingdollgyaru: It looked really nice, I would never do a curly perm just because I like my natural coils even though I don’t wear my hair out.

dezzyD01: It turned out nice ! It has alot of body and bounce ‍♀️! And the perm is pronounced Wave New-Voe, similar to the Vo in VOGUE ✨✨

Amiah Perkins: I actually love this its so pretty and i wish i could do this but i have no clue how i'd keep up with growing roots patiently

CoolKem C: The curly perm is a natural progression from natural curls. It’s a pause on the way to a relaxer . This happened before in the 80s.

Brown eyes: Just imagine how many of these Ig models do this. Sometimes they just pop out with big beautiful curly fros and I’m like howwwwwwww sway? Now I see. But this is beautiful

Patricia Johnson: Oh my goodness, you hair turned out so pretty and it looks so natural. You look to cute!

RaeLaRoux: This came out so beautiful!!!! I hope it stays thick!!

SLAYLORD FOCKER: My thing is this: Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t. Like .. DAMN ! When we wear weaves and wigs we’re told we should wear our natural hair. When we wear our natural hair we’re told to embrace our natural curls. Now y’all wanna dictate HOW. It’s always the ppl who DON’T fund our beauty maintenance who got the most to say. Just mind y’all business

BWR Rock: You can obviously tell the difference between natural hair and the curly perm. The perm makes your hair thinner, it takes some of the texture from the roots to the ends. Same as any other regular perm would do. Still cute tho.

TiiiaMiiia03: I’m 1000% sure we have the same hair type all of them hair stans look just like mine before you even touch it with hair stuff so it’s nice to see what my hair would look like after doing these things I only have dyed tips that cover a inch my hair is boob length as well

Emmy Jorge Guineve: Love your coloring Smooth and Soft looking skin!

Strawberry Díaz: Girl this is ME rn I was so nervous until I found your video. I thought it could only be done professionally

moonfairymomo: You have really pretty hair! I like the way it turned out.

jineatisayiam: Honey, Wave Nouveau is not the Ghetto version of Gina Curl. Wave Nouveau is the top of wave curls. I wouldn't suggest to anyone to get a gina curl. Your hair looks stronger and better than a Gina Curl. Trust and believe that using the WN is right for you.

Claire Wood-Forrester: Are these people fans or haters, wow, it came out nicely. You did it by yourself and it still looks really nice. You did a good job. Peace and love ✊

LaWinter: Wow that took from a 4c straight to the 3’s! I think the look is cute sounds like a lot of work though although I’m sure it’s easier to style after

Temitayo Lawal: Other than wave noveau, you can also try using Hollywood curl solution kit. I used that and it worked for me perfectly and my hair was 4c. *For those interested*

Lisa Everette: That came out soooooo cute! It looks very natural but of course now I know it's not.

mosiah selah: my freshman year of high school I got a keratin treatment which is a lighter version of a texturizer or a curly perm. it DAMAGED my natural curls!! since elementary days i was bullied at school for not having “good hair” or “mixed girl hair” because i had 4b/4a hair all of my family used to tease me about having “nappy hair”, so i always tried to find ways to make my curls looser. in the 6th grade my mom let me a Brazilian blowout which was recommended by a hispanic friend to try and loosen my curls and all it did was fry my hair and made it very dry, and with my mom being hispanic and white and having thin 3a curls she wasn’t aware of how my hair would react. my hair is at a constant journey to get healthy and i’m just now realizing what it is i have to do to make my hair the healthiest it can be. i DO NOT recommend altering your natural hair for anyone considering. it may look good at first but your hair will never be as healthy and you might have to cut it off like i did. just trust your process and learn to love what god gave ya :) !

EarthAngel Naturally: I am obsessed with this look!! I love this!!

Notoriousleelee: I had that shit as a child a wave nouveau because it looked more natural than a Jheri Curl. But it’s still a perm and very damaging in the long run. No chemicals for me. Black women must be patient with our hair. She could achieve the exact same results on her hair but it woul LS take about a year of propers training it with wash and sets and proper products

Blue Skies: Your hair was gorgeous once it dried. Appeared very soft too.

Perfect Karma: You did an AWESOME JOB!!!!

Second Demographic: All of these processes ( Gina Curl, Jheri Curl, Wave Nouveau, Japanese Straightening System) all require ammonium thioglycolate to break down the protein bonds in the hair. Once the bonds are broken ( while the hair is in a roller to give it a new curl pattern), a neutralizer is added to stop the process and to set the curl. The Japanese system doesn't use rollers because a straight look is desired. The hair always looks great the first time it is done. The problem comes once the hair has to be touched up. Oftentimes when the chemical is added to the new roots, it overlaps the already processed hair and breakage occurs. Or, because the hair is in an altered state and the protein bonds have been broken, the hair is more fragile and begins to THIN from friction. It's also important to mention how the chemical DRIES the hair out because the protein bonds have to be broken in order to create a new curl pattern. You either have to keep it messily juiced up or look like a brillo pad.

Niricha iliana: thank you !!! someone who actually did this with better quality and a do it yourself and yessss you look amazing

Cassandra Russell: Let me find out these are coming back. My mom's been getting her's for decades . It looks great! Wow

wildcherry051: I got my wave nouveau a week ago. I’m liking it a lot, it’s easy to deal with and so soft.

Quince J: I remember trying the other product you did to get the curls I was like hell nahh I’ll keep my natural hair good thing I only tried a lil section in some things you can expect the same result but yours look
