Protective Hairstyle For Short To Medium Length Natural Hair | Hairstyles For Natural Hair

Hi Ladies,

Here is another protective hairstyle that is perfect for our short to medium-length natural hair ladies. I am trying to be more creative with protective hairstyles without blow drying my hair as much as I normally do. I used Marley hair to make sure my natural hair is covered and protected.

Hi, ladies welcome back to my channel, my name is yasa. If you're new here, if you're, not new, then welcome back today we're doing this protective hairstyle for short to medium length, natural hair. Obviously, you can do it on long natural hair as well, especially because we're going to be using marley hair to make the hairstyle. But if you're new to the channel, don't forget to subscribe and make sure that you're pressing the notification button that you're notified. When i do upload a new video and you're an old subscriber - and you haven't done that girl go ahead and do it so that you know every time i upload a new video, so as you can see, i'm starting out on hair that is actually washed. I washed it last night and then i went to bed and well. I did let it dry before i put the bonnet on and i moisturized and everything and now i'm just adding water. If you're going to do a bun and your hair is not blow dried or straightened like it's always nice, if you can add water to it, so that your hair is stretching now, my hair is long enough to go into a bun without a struggle. If you have really short hair and you're trying to pull your hair in a bun like, i really really advise you to add water to it, because when you add water to it, it makes your hair more elastic. So it avoids over pulling of your hair to pull it into a bun and also just because your hair is more elastic, it's just easier to get it into a bun and it's easier to make it lay as flat as possible. As you can see, my hair is much longer now. If you want to see like my older videos, when i used to pull my hair into a bun, you can definitely go just click. My name, it's going to you to all my video and just go to the old old video you'll, see how i was pulling my hair into a bun. One thing i will say, though, like i feel like before i was pulling my hair like too tightly, and now i pull less when i'm putting it into a bun, you will need gel if your hair is much shorter than mine, because my hair is longer. I never necessarily feel like. I should use a lot of gel, so i usually just use shine and jam gel and that's basically how much i'm going to use. I like using it because my hair doesn't flake when i use it, no matter what kind of product i have in my hair, although i don't change my products that much so i don't know if it's just a product that i use. I also love the shine that it leaves in my hair. It makes my hair super shiny and i absolutely love that. I also like that. Obviously it's not crunchy or not. Obviously, if you've never used it, it's not crunchy or at least doesn't leave my hair feeling. Crunchy, so it's easy for me to transition to another different hairstyle without uh you know, stressing my hair or without having to add water, or anything like that. I know. Sometimes, when you use uh go to the glute gel your hair uh like it has the white, it leaves the white things in your hair and i absolutely dislike that and your hair is usually very crunchy now sometimes i will use the go to be good gel On my edges, if i feel like doing the baby hair things, i mean i don't overdo it, but sometimes if i really want it to lay flat, i do that if i was going to like a you know like uh, an event where i need my hair To like totally stay in place, i would use the gotcha with glue gel if you're doing a wedding and you're pulling your hair into a bun. I would advise you use the go to be glued gel because, like girl, your hair doesn't move, especially if you're doing outfit changes use the god to be good gel. I mean it's a one day thing and you can just wash your hair after that, but anyways. So, as you can see, i left my hair into a scarf for, like i think, 15 minutes or something like that and then now i'm going to do the hairstyle, as you saw at the beginning of the video, so i'm going to use marley hair to do This hairstyle, the brand that i use, is climax. I get it from my local beauty supply store, i'm really going to try and see if i can find it for you online. If i do find it, i'm going to leave the link of it down below in the description section, i get the color in 1b and when it's brand new like this, it matches my hair, but when it gets a little bit older, i feel like the color Becomes a little bit off and i usually have to spray a little like a shine oil to it to make it match my hair. I guess looking at it even right now my hair looks to be more shiny than their than the mali hair itself. So i should have probably done that as well, but if i get the color number one, i feel like it's too dark for my hair, because my hair is not exactly exactly black. Although a lot of you think that my hair is black, but it's not it's. Like a really really really like really really dark brown that when you look at it, you just think it looks black so for the bang area, i'm going to take like six pieces of hair after doing the whole hairstyle, i think i would have done just like Four or five pieces instead of like the six that i did just because i felt like my front area, was slightly more heavy than the back and by the way, if you're doing this hairstyle don't have. You know how i have the mali hair on my head. Already don't have that start with the bang area? First, i don't know if i pronounce that word right, but y'all english is my fourth language i'll keep saying this. So that's how i'm going to do the bang area. So if you're going to do this, hairstyle do the bangs. First, before you put on the hair in the middle section, you know the ponytail thing you do it after you do the bang area. So, as you can see, i'm just basically painting it and then i'm going to take another pin and basically sort of like create, like a crisscross, with the pin that i already have on the hair that i put on just to make sure that it's secure and It doesn't move for anything so, as you can see, it's pretty secure at this point, so i'm just going to basically place the hair in a way that flatters my face and in a way that just lays nicely you can do this in any way that you Feel like it's going to flatter your face, so one thing that i actually wasn't sure. Well, i not that i wasn't sure, but i was undecided when i was making the bun or pulling my hair into a bun is whether i wanted a line where i'm going to have like the side. Part thing. So if you want a line, you can go on ahead and do a line before you put your hair in a bun, but i didn't feel like it really mattered for me. So i didn't really uh do the line, as you can see. If you watch the last videos that i well, i mentioned that i'm having a little bit of shedding not a little bit a lot of shedding and i was concerned about it. So i'm basically trying not to blow dry my hair, although, oh god, i really feel like i'm going to blow dry it one of these days, just because it's driving me crazy, so you'll be seeing a lot of hairstyles where my hair is now blow dried and Basically, using my hair or just using more protective hairstyles to make sure that i'm not manipulating my hair too much and just like keeping it tucked away, as i am doing what i can to get it together, someone actually mentioned that, like the weather, change might be The reason uh my hair is shedding and she said that she lives in canada too, and she that she was experiencing shedding too, and someone told her that it might be because of the weather change. So i'm trying to hold on to that and just think that maybe that might be it, but i don't know it's been, i think about three weeks now, since i noticed that my hair is shedding more. I have combed my hair twice since then and um. I don't know if i i don't think, there's much of a difference between the shedding from what i recognized three weeks ago to now never mind my face right now. I was getting frustrated but anyways, so it i don't think i've noticed like like the shedding going down uh, hopefully next time i comb, my hair, like i won't, have as much shedding, but let's keep doing you know the healthy routine and just see what happens so. The reason i was kind of frustrated while doing the hairstyles with is because, when i started the hairstyle, i wanted to have a ponytail, but it wasn't just working out the way i wanted it to so i thought: okay, let's do the band and see how that Works i like the bun. I like molly, hair ponytail, like i've, always loved a molly hair ponytail. It always looks nice always looks cute. I, like the bun idea that i did it's just that i feel like the front section is just like it has too much hair that the bun should be bigger for it to sort of like balance itself out. So if you're going to do it like, unless you like the way mine, looks right now, then just do the same thing that i did. If not, then, maybe take out a little bit more hair from the front section so that the band will be slightly more balanced with the bang at the front. But i'm just using rubber bands to you know, make the two different bands and i'm just going to go in with styling pins and just pin them in place. It felt pretty secure, it didn't feel like it was going to move at all. I added, i think, three pins to make sure that that it was secure and because, of course, it's tied to the front as well uh, it didn't really move. As you can see. For the you know, the back part, i basically just used the whole whole pack of molly hair and i didn't take out anything most of the time. Actually, when i have these smelly hairs, i never really like take them, apart from the bundle that it comes in. Like in the pack, just because most of the time when i use it, i'm basically just using it like that, and i don't need to take it out. But my hair is, i think, like a must-have for anyone who loves doing active when you have natural hair and you like to do aptos in a way where sort of like you're, protecting your hair, uh and tucking. Your hair away always have. I think two packs of male hair because then see like what i did right now. I basically used like one pack at the back and then a few pieces from the other pack at the front. Now, when i'm done with this, i'm going to put everything back and it's going to look like it's brand new so that i can use it again now, that's it for the hairstyle. Ladies, i hope you enjoyed it and i hope i see you, ladies uh, on sunday when i'll be uploading. The next video have a lovely lovely week, bye
