How To Curl & Style Short/Medium Hair

Hey everybody, its Layla, Houston City, makeup artist, so I was just recently asked by fly girl 0. How I did my hair in a previous video. I did an evening wedding. Look I makeup and she wanted to know how I did my hair, because she really liked the way that it came out. So I decided to go ahead and do a hair tutorial on how I did that it looks a little different because I cut my hair. A little shorter and I dyed it - a real nice bright red. So if you want to know how to do short, hair, real curly, keep watching thing that I did is that I blew dry, my hair, so it's a little on the funky wavy side, as you can tell, but I'm just going to spray in some just some With some heat tamer spray, this is tres amazed spray that throughout your hair, just like that and then you're going to just you know, just need a teasing comb lots of bobby pins. What I do is I work from the front first, so I'm just going to take a small section just like that, probably about an inch and a half with we're just going to take my one-inch curling iron and I'm going to want to go backwards. But I'm going to start just like that and curl from the base and then pull up a little bit and pull down you're still going to have. You know some of this hair. That is right here. Don'T worry about that! We'Re going to get those pull up! Just a little bit and then lightly pull out, I like to keep it so it's still together, the curl is still together and I'll pull it back. Just like that, so it's kind of like a little curlicue or maybe like kind of a small victory roll. Take. My bobby pin and I'm just going to, pin it just like that, you you, okay, so this is what it looks like. I know you look a little doofy. I just have them all up in little ringlets. Just like that I'll say what you want to do. Is you just want to take what I'm just a regular hairspray of your type? You can use a firm hold a flexible hold, I like to use a firm hold and just for it one light coat and all your curls just like that. What I like to do is I like to keep them just like this for about. I want to say about an hour. The reason is it's just so that they can cool down in their own curls. So when I take them out, they're just going to be really good, bouncy curls, so i'll see you back in about an hour okay. So it's been about a little bit more than an hour, so what I'm going to do is I'm just going to take out all my bobby pins and just kind of let the curl sit right where they are and then I'll tell you the next step. What to do kind of look, look like um little, Annie orphan, the sun'll come out tomorrow, just kidding, so what I like to do, then I like to just to put my fingers trying it through it just to loosen up some of the curls. As you can see here, because me really good volume, the next thing that I'm going to do is - I just have this pearl headband that I got it's real stretchy on this side and just got like two strands of pearls on the other, and I just pull Up over - and I leave it right here at the crown my hair make sure all hair is pulled back.
