I'M always one step behind wishing. I could read your mind, but I ready yeah never a day. Ah I wish I could. I made a stop. The first time that you stood me up at wasn't: ready, yeah, Oh hey guys and welcome back to Lexi hairs channel. My name is Alana and in today's video I'm going to be showing you some fun and simple hairstyles for shorter hair. Now, if you noticed me on this channel before, you would have known that, I had longer brighter blonde hair, but I recently did the chop and went a little bit darker and I love it. It'S perfect for fall and winter, and my hair just feels it's so much healthier. All of the hairstyles that I'm going to be showing you today are suitable for any hair lengths. So I have more of a medium short length, but you can totally rock these hairstyles with shorter hair above your shoulders or long hair. What I love most about my haircut is that I can still rock my Lexie hair extensions. So if you guys want a video on how i blended my extensions with my blunt cut lob, then let me know in the comments down below and I would love to film that for you guys so without further ado, let's get into these hairstyles okay. So, first off I went to bed with my hair wet last night and I put it in two little buns right around my ears, and this is how its left, so it's very natural and wavy. All of these hairstyles look great with either curly straight wavy hair. So don't worry about what style your hair is in, because the hairstyle will look great, no matter what this first hairstyle is a really cool and trendy way to put your hair half up. So what you need for this hairstyle are a couple bobby pins and a thin hair elastic, preferably one. That'S a similar color to your hair, okay! So for this hairstyle it doesn't matter if you have a middle part or a side part, because we are just going to French braid the middle section of our head. So I'm not going to really section off a perfect amount of hair because I want it to look a little bit more natural and effortless. So I'm just going to start at the front right at the top of my forehead and create three pieces of hair. And I'm going to do a normal French braid so going over that middle piece and every so often picking up pieces of hair right in that middle section of our head. This is a great hairstyle if you're kind of on your second or third day of hair and any kind of part, just looks a little bit greasy. This is a great way to hide that right when we get to the back of our head, I'm just going to continue the braid normally and not add any more pieces to it. Taking a hair elastic and I picked a hair elastic that was a similar color to my hair color and I'm just going to secure that so that it stays in place. Now I'm just going to go ahead and fluff out that braid, so that there's nice fullness at the top of my hair, and it just gives it a little bit more texture. Okay, now that we have the braid out of the way that is the biggest part of this hairstyle, you can leave it like this. If you want it's really cute, but I'm going to kind of finish it off by taking some pieces by the side of my head on both sides and just wrap it around the end of my braid, so that you don't see that elastic. I'M going to make sure to leave some pieces out around my face just so that it's nice and framed I'm just going to loot that piece of hair around my braids and then secure it in place with a bobby pin. I'M going to do the exact same thing with the other side as well, so that's it for the first hairstyle. It'S quick, it's easy and it's a great way to put your hair out of your face. Ok, this next hairstyle is great. If you want a lot of your hair out of your face, so it's a ponytail, but it's a fun little twist on it. So I'm going to create a side part! You can totally do this with the middle part if you wanted to, but I just want a little bit more hair on this side, because, instead of just doing a classic ponytail, I'm going to do a braid into the ponytail. This is awesome. If you have some flyaways around your face and you really want to get them back and just a normal ponytail, it doesn't do that. So I'm just going to take the front section of my hair on this side and create a normal French braid. So again, just separating into three pieces and the outside pieces go over top that middle piece, adding hair along the way. I'M going to secure this braid with an elastic, but don't worry we are going to take it out. I just don't want it to fall out while we create the ponytail again, I'm just going to pull out some pieces of that braid. Just because I like a lot of texture around my face. I don't think that I suit a really sleek look, but if you like that, then totally keep your braids tight. I just want to make it a little bit looser. Okay, now that I, like the fullness of the braid, I'm just going to take a brown hair elastic and create a lower ponytail, and this is what's great about short hair. If you create a low ponytail, then it's pretty likely that all of your hair will be in it. It gets a little bit harder with the height of your ponytail. If you have shorter hair, then pieces start to fall out, which I actually don't mind, but I'm going to create a low ponytail and I think it looks really chic and on-trend anyways. I'M going to pull some pieces out around my face as usual once you like. The height of your ponytail, I'm just going to secure it like how cute is this little ponytail. I love it, but I'm going to take the elastic that was on our braid. Take it out, but I'm going to hold onto that piece because I'm going to wrap it around the elastic, don't worry the pieces kind of like pop out. I think it adds to the look anyways, so I'm just going to wrap it around that elastic and secure it with a bobby pin. Tell me what do you ever wonder how ok this next hairstyle is my go-to hairstyle when I'm in a rush, but I want it to look put together and whether you have long hair or short hair. This hairstyle is definitely doable on any hair length. So basically, it's just doing two twists at the side of my head. I always seem to get compliments whenever I do it, so, let's just get right into it. So what I'm gon na do is start right at my middle part, I think this hairstyle looks best with the middle part, but you can definitely do it with the side part as well. I'M going to start right up that middle part and just start twisting. My hair all the way down and I'm just adding hair, as I'm twisting I like to keep the twist quite tight just so that I can pull out some pieces of course afterwards. So I'm going all the way to about the top of my ear and then I'm going to continue twisting that piece of hair and then lifting a piece underneath so that it can be hidden taking a little bobby, pin and pinning it in place. Going right on to the other side, top of that middle part, taking little pieces of hair as I go down. I just feel like this. Hairstyle really frames the face nicely and just adds a little bit of extra detail around it as well. We street and pinning it in place after you're done. Of course, this wouldn't be a finished hairstyle. Unless you pulled some pieces out, I like to just pull my baby hairs out because they never stay in the twist anyways, so I'm just going to pull those out and that just kind of helped frame the look kind of give a little texture at the top. Here and that's it, it seriously takes under 20 seconds. It'S super quick and easy, and you can do it on any hair length, so that is it for these hairstyles, don't forget to hashtag Lexie hair.
