Can we get this to 100 thumbs up?

For today’s video I am sharing how I curl my medium length hair to get beachy, voluminous waves using a flat iron or hair straightener. I prefer this method over the traditional curling iron because it’s quick and easy once you get the hang of it! I hope this helps you out, and if you have any other tips or questions, leave them in the comments below!

♡ BONUS TIPS ♡

1. Take your time sliding your flat iron down for a more full curl. If you want more of a beach wave, slide it down a little faster.

2. When curling your hair on the right side, turn your flat iron clockwise. When curling on the left side, turn your flat iron COUNTER clockwise.

3. DO NOT re-curl your hair when it is still hot. If you need to re-curl, wait for it to completely cool.

What'S up guys, it's emily has been forever. I feel like since I've sat down and filmed the video, but today I wanted to share with you guys how I curled my hair, because, as you could see, it is not cute when it's straight. My hair is just really flat when I don't curl it, and it's also at that weird length where it like flips out as you could see, and it's so annoying and not flattering whatsoever. So today, I'm going to share with you how I cover my hair using a flat iron or a straightener or whatever you guys want to call it. But mine is from GHD and it's a one-inch straightener and that one is perfect for my hair length because my hair was shorter. I cut it like up to here and it already grew out so much what I would normally suggest a half inch straightener. If you have like really short hair a 1 inch straightener, if you have like this length of hair or like just slightly shorter and a one and a half inch straightener, if you have longer hair, i've, definitely curled my hair when it was super long with, like A two inch straightener, so that's my personal suggestion, depending on the length of hair. So if you guys are excited to see how I curl my hair go ahead and give this video a thumbs up and let's just go ahead and get started alright. So before I comb my hair or add any heat onto it, I'm gon na put on this heat protectant cream from Bri ojio or Rio Gio, I'm not sure how to pronounce it. But it's one of my favorite brands ever and even though this is the blow-dry perfection and keep protecting cream, it's ultimately a heat protectant cream, so whether you're blow-drying it's straightening, it curling it whatever as long as you're putting heat onto it. You should definitely put this on beforehand, so I'm gon na do that right. Now it's kind of a thicker consistency as you can see, and at first I was very hesitant about using this because, like Hello, it's literally like lotion. But what I do is I kind of like, even it out on my hands and I'll just start going into my hair with it make sure you get the bottom as well, because you're definitely gon na be curling that and adding heat onto that, and this smells So good so once you're happy with the amount of product in your hair, I'm gon na start sectioning it off and I usually do three sections, because I find that that works best for me and oh, my gosh, I'm like shedding like crazy. What is this? So? I usually start out like the temples and go straight back and then I'll have like this bottom chunk of hair right here. So one of my favorite things about the GHD straightener is, I actually heats up so fast like just wait, for it. Don'T take like five seconds: it's not amazing. It heats up like that. I am like impressed every single time if you've never cold your hair with a straightener, don't worry, you're, definitely gon na mess up. It takes a lot of practice to get used to so how I like to hold the straightener. Is this way with a clamp upwards? I know some people like to do it like this, but I find it really awkward. If your arm is like over your head the whole time, so I don't do it like that and I'm no expert at this, but I've definitely done it for a while. So I kind of know like my way around it, so the key is to make sure you're not grabbing too much hair cuz. If you grab too much hair at a time, then obviously you're not gon na get really the curl today, I'm just gon na. Do my classic go-to curls here I have about an inch of hair and I'm going to clamp my straightener here and turn it all the way like this, so that the back side is showing and I'm just gon na slowly. What'S it pull it downwards? Okay, so it's actually really tough to explain it to you guys as I'm doing it, because I don't want to hold it onto my hair too long and burn it. As you can see, this is a curl. I usually go for some people if they want beachy waves, they'll kind of hold it out like this. It kind of cools down in a more natural curl, but I kind of like the little spirals as you could see, and the bottom layer is the perfect time to practice, because if you messed up, no one's gon na see it anyway. And this is where my worst curls are usually apt. I always grab smaller sections and again going no with the clamp you don't have to go all the way up to the root. I just kind of start like this way like half way twist. It and kind of have it at an angle, because you don't want it completely straight like this and then curl it down. Watch your hair and boom. Like I said the first couple times, don't get discouraged if it's not coming out right. It definitely took me a while as well, but as you could see, I'm just gon na curl there's a little girl and another tip is that you always wan na curl away from your face and the thing about short hair. Is that once you get to the back, it definitely gets a little trickier, especially if your hair is shorter, but, like I said in the beginning, the bottom part no one's really gon na see it anyway. So if you kind of missed some spots, it's not a huge deal. So now I'm gon na switch hands and we're gon na start curling to the other side going this way. So it's gon na go away from my face same thing: boom curl, so I'm gon na go ahead and finish the side and I'll be right back as you can see, the bottom part is definitely curled like I said if it doesn't come out perfectly like don't Worry too much, but you still got two more sections of hair to work on that will cover it anyway. So now I'm going to move on to the next section and a Gaia. It'S the exact same thing, and now I just kind of eyeball like where my next sections gon na, be, I usually start like right here, such a random spot, but it feels right all right. So here is the final product. My hair is completely curled and what I normally do afterwards is just run my fingers. Do it really gently I kind of give it a little shake, so I can break up the curl, so it looks more casual and of course this is just a personal preference, but you can do it, however you'd like, but this is a look that I usually Like to go for and once it's in my liking, I always track if I missed any like straight pieces of hair in the back and of course, I'm gon na finish it off with some hairspray and typically I don't wash my hair everyday anyway. So I'm probably gon na have these curls for another day or two, so I just kind of put a little bit of light hair spray. So it's not too much product and it feels gross. But this definitely looks a lot more voluminous in the very beginning. But what's in like the next hour, it's gon na settle down a lot, but this is pretty much how I curl my hair. I hope you guys found this video helpful if you guys have any other tips or questions go ahead and leave them in the comments below and make sure to subscribe on the way out, and I will talk to you guys real soon. Bye
