In today's video i am going to be giving you five different, ballet hairstyles that you can use for your company ballet auditions your summer intensive auditions or even, if you just want a new and fun hairstyle for your ballet class or even zoom class, then keep on Watching, hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my channel if you're new, i'm goldie - and this is the lazy ballerina club since we are in the new year and company auditions - are right around the corner. I have decided to dedicate the entire month of january to giving you all of the tips that i have learned in my career as a professional ballet dancer. There are so many things that i wish i knew before entering an audition like what to wear, how to do my hair, what looks professional or even just to be confident in the room with 30 other dancers. Next to me, auditions are so stressful, whether it be a company audition or even, if you're, just auditioning for a summer intensive, i have been there. I know how it feels and all you want to feel is prepared and confident, and if i can help you feel that way in this valley audition series, then i am going to do that because we are in this together. I thought it would be a super fun way to kick off the series by showing you my ultimate hairstyles, that i like to do in my auditions and the hairstyles that i typically lean towards when i am just getting ready for ballet class before we get into Today'S video make sure you are subscribed down below like this video and leave a comment down below if you are actually going into in-person auditions this year or you're doing a zoom audition. Even if you are auditioning over zoom stay tuned through this series, because i have some zoom ballet audition tips for you so subscribe down below like this video and let's get into the hairstyles for the five different hairstyles that i am going to be showing you. You are going to need a few things. You are going to need a brush soft brush, some small bobby pins, hair ties. You will need some bun head pins. These are the big pins and they are truly the only thing that i use when i am doing. My buns and i don't know how people don't use these when they're doing their hair for ballet, but everyone has a preference, but these are what i use and the last thing you'll need is hairspray and now, finally, we can get right into the hairstyle, hey girl. So for hairstyle number one, i am going to show you how i do my classic low bun and honestly. This is the hairstyle that i tend to go to most when i'm getting ready for class or auditions. So the first thing i do is brush out my hair and i think, having dirty hair for these hairstyles will make them stay a little bit more. Oh yeah, like real, dirty hair, but once i brush out my hair, i like to part my hair. I can use a comb, i just use a big bobby pin whatever does the trick, and then i take my soft brush and try to form my hair to get ready for a low pony, and sometimes i just throw in some hairspray just so. My hair starts locking in place so after i've hair sprayed my hair and brushed it out. I start forming that low pony at the base of my neck, and this is pretty self-explanatory. There you go a nice little pony and then just throw on a little bit more hairspray. The next thing i do is, i actually grab a hair tie, and this is something new that i've been trying on my hair to keep all the flyaways in. But i wrap my hair into the bun and then i place the hair tie around it to secure the hair before i start pinning it. I think it's a great idea to put an elastic before you pin if you have short, hair or hair with layers. It just makes everything easier to keep all of those little hairs in and then i go in with my big bobby pins and secure my little bun so for hairstyle number two. I am going to show you how i do my high bun with this really pretty part in the center. I honestly call this hairstyle my princess hair, because i just feel like it makes me feel so elegant, and this is the hair that i usually do for my auditions. It'S a little tricky, but the first thing i do is get my center part once again using my big pin and i separate my hair down the center once i have my center part, i go on each side and do another part and section off my hair And i kind of like to do this from the crown of my head right behind my ear and i do that on both sides and then separate those two pieces of hair once those two pieces are separated. I take the rest of my hair and then put it into a high pony. Okay, i look gorge okay, this is when it gets a little tricky, so i take the first section and brush it through and as i'm brushing it through. I take my hair spray to kind of get my hair ready to pin it back into my bun once i like the positioning of that little swoop in the front, i take my smaller bobby pins and i only take two and i kind of criss cross them On top of each other to secure those sections in place, and then i just do the exact same thing to the other side of my head. Okay, i know things are looking crazy, but hang in there. The next thing i do is actually grab a hair tie and just swoop it around my ponytail, maybe once or twice to really secure those two sections that we just pinned and then i take my pony and form it into my high bun before i pin it. The last thing i like to do is take my hair spray and kind of just lay those little baby hairs down on my forehead to just get that nice and soft hairline, and there you have it. This is definitely the go-to hairstyle for all of my auditions. Okay, hairstyle number three is a balancing bun, so this is honestly a newer hairstyle for me because i didn't grow up in a balancing school. I didn't go to sab. I honestly didn't even think i knew what a balancing bun was until i went to pnb summer course, but let me teach you the first thing that we do is take all of our hair and put it into a straight back high pony. Once you have your pony start twisting your pony around and you are going to take the top of that little twist and pin it down and it kind of should look like a little crown on the top of your head. I know i'm doing a terrible job at showing you, but this is the first step in creating that balancing bun look okay. This is where it gets serious, so you are going to take the end of that little twisty and turn it into a figure eight. So i kind of just took the end of the twist laid it down and then twisted that twist. Does that make sense and then once you have that figure eight look. You can start pinning down that little nub at the bottom of the pony, and then you have a figure. Eight balancing bun for all you sab girls out there do not judge me. I am new to this, i'm still learning, but for hairstyle number four, i am going to show you a typical classic french twist. To be honest, i hate doing french twists, i feel like they either go up perfectly or i'm sitting in the dressing room sweating from having to do a french twist about 100 times before the audition, but once i brush through my hair, i start by taking my Pony and twisting it from the bottom of the base of my neck and as i'm twisting my hair up, i'm taking the hair on the sides and kind of just forming them around the twist. And once i like how the front looks and how the twist looks. I start pinning my twist down and let me just say if you don't get a migraine or a headache from your french twist, it's not tight enough and with each hairstyle finish it off with about a gallon of hairspray, okay, i think i've saved the best for Last for hairstyle number five, i am giving you the cutest little swan, hilda vibes hairstyle that i love to do when i'm just so bored of buns or french twists. So i start by separating my hair and giving myself a middle part, and then i take those two sections and give myself some really cute high ponies. Once i have my two ponies, i take those ponies and just throw in some simple braids to both sides. For this part, it's kind of a little bit of trial and error, so i take those two braided ponytails and i start messing around with them and trying to kind of form a crown on my head. It might take a second to get the right position, but once you feel confident about how it looks in the front, you can start pinning those little braids down. Okay, no one was gon na. Tell me about that extra hair that i forgot to put in my ponies. Oh my god, i'm just spraying it down and pinning it up and pretending like that, didn't happen. So that is it for today's video. I hope you enjoyed all of the different hair tutorials that i showed you today. Let me know in the comments down below which one is your favorite, which one you're going to use for your auditions, and i'm not even going to try to take my hair out of this hairstyle, because after hairspraying it and doing it five separate times.
