Hi guys, so how are you i'm robin welcome back or welcome to my youtube channel this little world right here is man from self? If you like men's hair, product reviews, grooming, skincare, fragrance and videos like this, then this channel is for you. Please do press subscribe right now. Okay, we are all constantly constantly, maybe a bit a bit extreme and we are all looking for the best hairstyle for us, something which is like on trend, something which suits us. Something which makes us feel good, and there are things that we can do in order to make this sort of process easier, and one of those is kind of knowing our face shape and what will suit that now. I did a video like just the other week. Really, on the different face, shapes kind of going through round oval, keep on going robin square triangle, rectangle and kind of gave you a list of the different hair cells that would suit you, and this was in response to the new functionality on man from self.com. On the men's, hairstyle directory of different filters against face shapes to give you guys, inspiration for the hairstyles that you can do and off the back of that. Actually, i know so many of you went across to check out the oval face, shape filter. So i thought for the majority. Sorry, if you're not in this, i thought i'm just going to show you some more sort of hairstyles and haircuts, i'm going to talk you through them and what might suit you. So if you are a guy with an oval face shape, then you will have a slightly rounded cheeks. You can have high cheekbones, you can have a narrower chin than it is a forehead and so like when a round one is round all the way around the oval one is slightly stretched. Now this is the most common face shape. I don't know who comes up with this: does a baby come out and they say um, you are an oval take that box and it goes through the national statistics and senses. I don't know um, but really it is. It'S also the most versatile really because your proportions are stereotypically attractive. I don't know i've got a slightly more sort of triangular face i've kind of got a bit more of an impish sort of vibe, but i'm trying to work with it with this one strand. But you can do lots of different things with this and i'm not a big believer in the do and the don't. I'M i'm more about making the most of what you have so looking at the oval face, shapes of man from self.com all linked up there and down there. There are 17 different hairstyles on here, so there is something for everyone. I'Ve picked some of my favorites in this and i'll tell you why they work, starting with like really one of the shortest on here. This is perfect for guys that have slightly curly hair. Now this is a faded french crop. Now a french crop has a sort of smaller fringe, it's a short hairstyle, but with working with the fade here. You'Ve got this really great, i'm sort of juxtaposition of the close to the skin, with all that hair on top and all that curl. What we're actually doing here is squaring off the face shape. Sorry, the head shape really face shape more than it being around. You can see that by cutting it very square on top in the hair, it's just really making that sort of silhouette slightly more square and slightly more bold, also having the fade just keeps everything super sharp, and this is a cut by timothy gom. We'Ve got loads of different barbers on the hairstyle directory. So if you are looking for someone, maybe in your area that could be a new filter, then you can check that out and this model here is mart. I also think it really works well with the facial hair there, keeping it short and keeping it neat means again. You'Ve got the shortest on the fade on the back and sides slightly longer here and then all that great texture and weight on top. If you've got curly hair embrace it and enjoy it, i wish i could do stuff like this. I think it looks really really good. I think it looks really neat, and i think it just shows that someone is kind of working with what they have in terms of styling products. For this you are going to use something like a sea salt spray or maybe even like a curl, defining lotion. Get it into damp here either work with your hands scrunch it you could, let it dry naturally or you could use a hair dryer and a diffuser. Just to really get that air across and really work in that curls and you'll also see on this page that and i'll link each of these pages. It tells you what to ask your barbie, so just really ask them for a french crop. If your barber doesn't know what their french crop is get out of, there seriously do not be going to them. If they don't know what french crop is. Okay, i want to stick with the sort of um the hero, texture and the hair of movement, and this is more like a medium-length wavy hairstyle. This is one of the ones that we created man from self-hq and with toasty, danny and danny, created this style on robert, and i think this really works well for robert now, robert looking at his face here. It doesn't look like he's an oval face shape, but he does but adding that beard has really squared off his jawline, making it look more stereotypically masculine. I hate myself saying that, and i always go on about this, but it kind of squares everything off and just gives them a slightly stronger jaw, then, with the hair working in a high side part and keeping that movement down across the face. But actually quite neat and quite smart on the sides. I think really works well and also this really suits robert's own personal style. Don'T just go for a haircut because you think it's in or because you see some someone else having it and get a haircut and a hairstyle because it suits you and your personality. That'S why i think it's so important that you sort of build a relationship with the barber or the hairdresser. You go to they're going to see, even by the way you walk in how you hold yourself, your sort of clothing and your sort of own sort of style and fashion sense kind of what's going to suit you, you don't want it to be like wearing an Over-The-Top pair of shoes, you don't want the shoes to be wearing you, you want to be wearing that and you want to be wearing that hairstyle, let's go to john boyega. Okay, so john boyega has tried, like literally everything john burger, looks amazing, he's obviously in the star wars film. So it's a star trek. You guys would kill me star wars, films, not seen many star wars, police, but he's also done fashion campaigns. He looks cool and he's someone that can really wear anything and it doesn't wear him. The hair looks great, it's obviously keeping it neat, but it just works really well. You can see here, especially in this picture. He really does have a rounded face really into the cheeks. It'S got great high cheekbones and a sort of more rounded um, more rounded, into the chin there, but this sort of style works perfectly for him with the cornrows and the braiding, i would say, go to a barber who specializes in afro-caribbean hair. If that's what you have go to someone that knows their stuff, i say the same thing about if you have curly hair and if you've seen someone with really great well-cut, curly hair or you see a guy with great cornrows or braids, ask them where they got Their hair done, you know, that's going to ensure that you go to someone that knows their trade and knows what to do. But again you might think that actually, with with his sort of rounded face, having something slightly more square, it does tend to work, but because it's so close to the head. I think this is more on him really than on the hair. But it's it's a great option. If you can do this right, let's go to this one, the modern professional. Now it's called the modern professional because it looks so neat, but it also looks so neat because rory the model here just looks like a well turned out. Young man, he looks great rory came into man from self-hq. He was looking for a kind of a bit of a hairstyle and style overhaul, and - and we had alan beak - who came in and did this rory's hair started slightly messier. He'S got a great face. So alan just really worked with what he had this oval face and gave him slightly more structure. Now you can see with the hair having this really tall sort of quiff almost pump, it's kind of pumped on the sides. He actually is elongating the face. So you might think, maybe not to do that, but this works so well and it just suits rory like perfectly also with that side part and the hair just swept straight back. It just looks absolutely fantastic. So again, i want this video to show that you might think that it's about the proportions of maybe making the face, look wider with the hair, but as it shows on this one with rory, you can actually elongate it again. It just comes down to that style and if you can get your styling perfectly from the haircut you're going to be able to pull anything off products, i would say to sort of style with this something like a cream pomade, something with a sort of mid shine. Something that's going to give you a good, not solid hold, but a kind of flexible hold. You don't want your hair falling down during the day, you'll see on the products pages on manfromself.com. We have um another new filter. We'Ve got a matte finish. We go all the way up to a shine and then we've kind of got this sort of natural look. So if you're looking for a product with a different sort of finish, it is there okay right, the very final one - and this has been like literally um. My hairstyle inspiration, i love this hairstyle. I'Ve spoken about it a few times on this channel. This is jake gyllenhaal, jake gyllenhaal looks great, but jake gyllenhaal's hair looks even better this long hairstyle it all pushed back and sitting really neatly behind the ears. Jake gyllenhaal has tried loads of different hairstyles, but you can see from his face shape. It is oval um. He has a perfect face and if i can have that face then i would love it. But again, this just shows that working with different hair lengths - you don't just have to have a certain face, shape in order to have a length. This works perfectly. If you've been growing your hair right, then this could be something that you're sort of aiming for. Don'T think that, just because you're growing your hair, you can just leave it, you still need to have regular trims just to keep it well conditioned, get any split ends that you might have since having longer hair. I have felt sort of more split ends and not many but enough to know about it. When i had shorter hair, never felt that i'm also i'm getting more tugs, i'm getting more sort of knots, so just keep it well conditioned, go and see your barber hairdresser. Maybe once every four to six weeks, six weeks, you're - probably fine with this and then in terms of styling, it's all about the pre-styler, so you want to spritz your hair when it's either towel dried or slightly damp. You can still do it when it's dry put a pre-styler in, i would say something like um evade a thickening tonic. If you need a boost, you could maybe mix um something like bumble and bumble. Primer, tonic, bumble and bumble. Thickening go big and you can maybe put a bit of sea salt spraying loads of sea salt sprays, um on manfrotto.com, just to really build that in styling products. You might not actually use anything at all because you might have had a really great foundation. That'S been put in with a freestyle, so you can leave it with hair. That'S slightly longer allow it to do its own thing. It'S going to have more weight and it's gon na be able to sit better more. Naturally, i found that with mine i mean this curl right now, it's killing me. I wish i hadn't done this, but it is sitting as it should do, but again, like the other ones, got everything on here about what to ask your barber, how to ask it. Sometimes it is that communication thing um and that's what i want the man from self hair directory to be just really a bit of a. I keep on calling a bit of a hair bible, i'm not the messiah, but i'm here to help you. You can take your phone in. You can show your barbie bob. We can have a quick look, use those sort of pictures and inspiration and also see what products work. So there you go, the oval face, shape longer little narrow, chin, gorgeous chin, wider forehead, the most versatile, the one that lots of people have. If you are just trying to work for proportions, you might try and add a bit more hair on the sides, but, as i've shown, loads of different hairstyles will work for this. It all comes down to you, your own sort of style, your own hair destiny. There. You go, but thank you very much for watching check out the hairstyle directory with all those different filters for different face, shapes you'll, be able to see kind of what works for you. Also, if you're still new to this you've still not pressed subscribe, then come on hit subscribe right now the button is just there. So it's more video suggestions there, i'll link to that directory there, my instagram and the new instagram man for here is up there, but until up there here, but to my next new video, bye-bye

Robin James: There are now 19 hairstyles for the oval face shape! Austin Butler’s is my favourite: https://manforhimself.com/hairstyle-tag/oval/

u.v. ray: I've never been a pretty boy. Broken nose, me. Few scars. Popularly known as the rugged look. But the truth is I'm an ugly bastard. I don't think it makes much difference what hairstyle I have. However, my hair is shoulder length at the moment and I happen to know I look better with a bit of a rock-a-billy quiff style - but I just like long hair even though it also puts a few years on me. I frequently get told I have "beautiful hair" but it's a case of nice hair, shame about the face. Anyway, you do some good vids, Robbo.

丹bdulrahman 乃arzani: Most hairstyles for oval shaped faces are high as hell, I don’t want my hair to go upwards, I really need one that is a bit different than the overrated ones we have today.

Yan Sfor: Thank you for your videos! I'm going to be watching all of them since I have brothers and guy friends asking me how they should cut their hair or what would compliment them and I honestly have no idea. I'm not a stylist or anything so I have no idea why they ask me, but they must trust me than whoever they go to to get their haircut. I'll be sending your videos to them as well.

Far: You explained it all quite well. Thanks

Amit Patnaik: Thanks Robin! Please consider offering some hairstyle advice for guys with beards (which has a big impact on their face shape)
