Thanks to everyone that came down with 3-6+ months worth of hair growth for us to transform.

#MensHaircut #Haircut #SlickBack

All right guys welcome back to the legal gentleman youtube channel. We are doing our transformation series and we have jack in the chair. How are you mate, you're good? So what's the plan? What are you thinking of doing? Well, i wanted to keep quite a lot of the length okay yeah through the sides yeah it's just this mullet sort yeah where my hair's so thick. It doesn't really yeah, sits and clamps together, yeah, but well, i think that's charlie hunan's character, isn't it yeah yeah? So he's i, i met him once and i know i've never done this. I just met him outside the hotel once i was doing a job and he had. I think he was doing of anarchy at the time it was years ago, and his hair was basically the same thing, but his hair looks as though it's because i obviously i was looking straight today. I didn't say i didn't really speak to him. That much. I was looking at his hair and he's got that kind of like blonde finer. Texture he's got a lot of hair, but it's like a fire section that will slick back a lot easier than what say your thickness. Will you know and have that kind of flick at the bottom? I think they're just working with this natural hairline, which yours, if you if your hairline grew more out, because your hairline goes inwards and then has to kind of wave over. So it's quite a common neckline to be fair, like you've got a bit of a bit of a night wheel in there as well, which is basically swirl at the bottom, to get that to flick out like this. What is it? Wouldn'T? It wouldn't really happen. So i think you're best going what you've got, but what are you looking to have it kind of coming all the way back, because i know you've got this like natural part going on, but you're looking to bring it all the way back together. Rather than always great yeah, yeah, okay, that's cool yeah yeah! That'S fine yeah and leave as much length in there as you possibly can just to make it kind of work. Yeah like a little tapered, maybe through the side, sort of thing or yeah yeah, just keeping not like that. It'S quite heavy yeah there's a lot of hair length in the back yeah yeah yeah and i just want to sort of take the bulk off. But yeah still keeping that all pushed yeah sweet; okay, not a problem yeah. What was the haircut like before you grew? It see it's quite it's longer on this side because i used to have so it would have been the side part. Okay, yeah we've not like a quite a harsh part here yeah. It was still quite longer here: okay, yeah yeah. Keep that push back yeah yeah yeah, okay, cool yeah - it was it was. It must have been skin flavor as well. Oh was it right? Okay, yeah! So, that's why what it's probably just left a little length through the back here, the crown obviously one side longer this side is obviously a longer. You can see the way it falls flatter to this side as well, where your partner, though it looks as though you might have been partnering the wrong way, see that's why you might think that when i was younger, so my hair's always gone this side, yeah yeah And then like, where it's got longer, it's sort of it can sit now, but yeah very shortly, just ping up, yeah, yeah yeah, that's right! It felt natural to go that way. Yeah definitely i mean the thing. Is you always want to try and go with the way your hair parts? Obviously you can i mean, look, there's no rules right, you can wear. However, you want, you can part it wherever you want. It'S all about ease the same. Look you want to go for just easy yeah. Essentially, i think the best thing to do, i think, won't be quite nice, though, as well, because you haven't got that much length on top the side. The very bottom of the sides are quite easy to grow out because as soon as it's over the ears, it looks long, okay, the neckline's the same so i was thinking, maybe if we focus on keeping as much of the length as we possibly can from sort Of this point onwards around the bottom here, if we cut this, would just kind of sat, maybe we taped the side bends a bit tighter. Maybe we do want to keep a better length through the ear, but if we maybe really sharpen the neckline a lot, you know really taper that right in, i think that'll look really nice to be honest, yeah. Obviously, if still keep some length in this with balances - but i think that'll be that way quite well, yeah all right, let's get a better! Let'S get a better look at this. Let'S give it a wash and the condition and we'll have a little look all right. Well, all right guys, so we've just um shampooed and conditioned jack's hair now taking everything that we said in the conversation to account. So you want to keep it longer he's trying to grow it out. He'S got an idea of a style that he wants based on. Obviously, um charlie hunnam's character from sons of anarchy that was kind of the idea. The back doesn't really work the same way, so obviously we're going to try and work with jack's neckline um, i think definitely a shorter, would be nice. I'M not gon na go too sure because again, the way it grows. If you come around here liam, if you just if you just take your headphone jack, if you look at that, it's got quite a lot of growth patterns in there at the bottom. So i think we are too short. It might look a bit too untidy. They might look a bit sort of parse and sparse and patchy and stuff just because it's quite weak and there's a nape wheel there. So i want to try and maintain some weight and length through the back just not as much as it's gone now, so you see a bit of a noticeable difference as he brings this all back, i'm going to start by putting in my horseshoe section now what This does is helps to separate the top to the back and sides. Lets me focus on face shape as well. Now the crown is very, very strong, so the crown is just here. Okay, as you can see, that's already popping out there already, even just by section off, so it's very, very strong growth, so i want to make sure that we're leaving that crown with a bit more length in it. So again, by doing this, horseshoe section we're taking out the crown we're not folk we're not going to cut the crown too sure we know we're near the crown really. Even just a few sections away won't make a difference, we're leaving it long. It'S quite short compared to where the ear is so. I want to use that as my length. I need to make sure that will slip back all this can go probably a little bit tiny bit shorter to balance the sides here, but essentially this the size needs to be the longest point of the back and sides for the circle. Okay, i'm going to bring this temple area back so essentially i'm not cutting any of that. I just want to put a little tiny bit just to break it up. Okay, just a little bit, i'm gon na say this bit shorter here bottom bits long and we'll just end up breaking up the back inside. So look how wide my sections are guys really really wide. I'M gon na over direct everything into the middle, taking a bit length off from a guy from the previous, but either side. This middle section is the original length and that will just help break up the back and sides layer it slightly thin it out slightly and just make it fall back a bit easier as well. The longer hair will collapse a bit more as well, because there's a shorter element and there's one star will sit back nicely as well, pull it out as our guide now there's all that i was talking about before just repeating again now that length comes off, but That'S right: we're following our guide: do not worry, bringing that out again nice and straight going to leave the bottom till the end is our guide as we come through there. There we go as you can see. They'Re short anyway, not much comes off, but that's fine, but look that weight is helping that sit nice and flat again, not much just coming off this bit out. There'S my guide put that in and we're pulling this temple back into that section. You want to maintain that length, bring it out with my guide, i'm just going to take away the side bends for now, i'm going to trim them down. So what that will do it'll just give that really really clean finish to this haircut and it'll also help jack grow it as well by one half guard open to start with way to that natural section and just work up and off. Give a nice tidy finish to the ear and that way create a nice longer finish to the sides. Bring this down like this me see. You'Ve got that real graduation from this side being short there. So let me just take this up a tiny, tiny bit as well just to try and balance as much. We can. We can't go short of the side bend or just the temple area, because it will really really lose a lot of length, but i think we can try and maybe take about that much off. That'Ll be nice. Okay, a little point at the top a little point at the bottom. I'M gon na cut this in as well. I'M gon na use a bit of freehand, i'm gon na lay it down and just pull away just so that matches as it sits around the ear, because it's going to go a bit short on the neck anyway. Here we i'm going go that length there. It'S just the same as the other side, so i've got my short element there from the ears just point cut into that as well, took it behind the ear and it's a bit of free hand, and here just work nice and wide just to remove any of That length, so it sits back nicely itself and now i'm gon na work on this neckline. So so, once you get fairly high because again we want to sit quite nice and tidy for them move it keep that weight in here. So it sits nice and flat say it across like that now i'm going to use a razor just to freehand a bit of thinning in this as well just feel a little bit there so break it up free hand over - let's be here like that. Just so we're maintaining the weight here, i'm not compromising that, but we're still shortening the edges as well working over just a bit of freehand through here as well. There we go so we cut that neckline in, but it's a lot shorter. It'S a lot more balanced and it won't stick out either as well. What i'm gon na do now is i'm gon na use scissors. I'M just gon na take away the thickness of the back and sides here. So i want to keep this. This t is a lot thinner than this bit here. It'S much much thicker through here. So i'm going to leave that for now and using the scissors, i'm going to say some horizontal sections and i'm just going to point cut into this as well, because it's so thick that this weight will no matter what you do to it. It'Ll keep it weight down, so i could use the razer ball. Did a bit harsher things, see i'm really cutting into that now, with the top i'm trying to maintain as much length as we possibly can to making sure that it is the same length all over as well, though, bring that out slight angle of my fingers and Just start to blend the top in a bit more see, there's still considering we haven't built it to any other side, it's still quite overhang on the top, just from obviously classic side par. For example. There we go. That'S a balance, that's starting to sit back. Actually, there again just off the center now take that corner through a little bit, but i'm doing very, very again wide sections keeping the majority of the length just trying to balance it up a little bit more. Take that off, as you have dropped it down to the sides now again, just one off center. We'Ve got that point just break that up a little bit as well. Remember the other side again, trying to over direct this fringe. Take that off so angle of my fingers again put this in there's that overhang we were talking about there. We go same again a bit higher up now overhang again, you can see i'm still over directing that back, though one more just before the center part there. I'M still counting my steps, four, i'm at the crown. That'S what i've been looking for. Well, nothing i need to do but we'll break into anyway. Now the last one just past the center. Now, hopefully, this is making sense, because all i'm trying to do here is break up. Obviously, i'm trying to balance the top one alongside the other, i'm also just trying to balance both sides cut evenly as well, so it doesn't fall too heavy to one side. That'S what i'm trying to do? That'S the aim of the game. You know around goodbye now. Finally, what we'll do we'll take a second right down the middle and see how that's looking to see if that's balanced, yeah nice and balanced yeah, the crown's gon na, be really long yeah, that's obvious, because we've left the crown out. So what i'm gon na do? I'M gon na add a bit of rage section to the top now, so we try to force this to stay as it is now, then, once we dry off i'll cut the crown after that, because i just know: that's gon na be a problem area, so i'm Trying to work reason just through from just on the halfway to the very top like that, just before the fringe do the same thing again, then, with the fringe, just very very small amount, just quite high up just to thin out a little bit as well. That will fall either way now, okay, so i'm going to do dry. It off put the crown in and then hopefully start out and show you how it falls all right. So a little bit of salt spray for this just for base for a grip. You might need a bit more grip for this to kind of keep it in the look he's trying to aim for, but if i can try and make it work today or as close to today, then we know he's on the right track for that style. All right and now so you can see that's starting to slip. It nice and i'll make yeah nice balance through the size, there's a really heavy kind of grown outside part. Now all right, so i'm going to cut that crown in now. Let me see that point off through there little points higher up now, i think, for the time being, i don't think it's worth an hour too much more. I think we need a bit of weight in there. So that's a fallback. So what i think is product choice now is key yeah. So what are you thinking? What look would you like to go for? Do you want to be like proper slick? Do you want to be more yeah i'd like to slick but because, where my hair's so thick - and i don't know if this products i use it just - i need to have it greasy for it to well unwashed sort of yeah, yeah yeah, of course yeah. It'S for her to sit back second day old hair, though, is the best to style most of the time. Okay, see what i do for yours. I wouldn't necessarily go straight in with the pomade. I think you could, but i don't know whether it might be a bit too slick you know. So i think what i'd probably do is put like um i'd use, maybe like a a cream on it, and then that way you can work it through and then just pop a bit of hairspray on top to give that wetter look all right. Let'S give it a go all right so now rub it through my hand through my fingers and work it through from the front to the back now, normally i'd say, apply the crown and whatnot, but we need this to sit back. Okay, like that, that's what we, when we need, okay, make it through here through the back as well, so again we're working through the hair, we're not styling it just yet we're just working this through the hair. Okay, like that right into the neckline as well. Now again start to layer this, in the rest, on the back of your hand, okay, because this will give that grease a look. You know it's got a little bit of like shine to it as well start to work this in to the hair as well like this, so we're getting it underneath the hair that way, it'll collapse, a lot better for you. Okay, it's just easier way through, sometimes than to like say most of the pomades are as well. Probably it's good, but i think with the way the clothes you wear and stuff, i think it might just look a bit too out of place with it being really greasy. I think this kind of finish is probably more more. I think it works better with what you're wearing, especially because this is your kind of attire all the time. You know i've got a nice round here, get that coming back through there and just work it in to your hair, like i'm gon na scrunch it into the back of here to make it way down. You know! So if you want to sit flat, if it's too thin, it will just fly away. You know what i mean: hairspray vent brush, yeah, probably even push it it'll sit better. For you be easy, you can get these more common as well. We can do spray onto your hair and comb it through. Okay, lay it on comb it through spray it on pull it through. Okay, what i'll do that'll add that pomade shine and hold it in place as well, so just that little bit of extra care. For that to sit back, but i think something like that works a little bit better than it being too greased anyway, you know there we go john's buddy, it's very christian bale in there batman this way. This is all this is like you look like. You'Ve probably got what his hair would be like as well to be fair and just kind of maybe just move a little bit over a little bit just to make it a little bit more less kind of pass it down. There we go how's. That looks looks longer than it on top now really dust on it, yeah see when you balance it out to the eye. It looks a lot shorter and places, but actually, when you start to balance it, it's actually quite long. I see the backers on me perfectly. No, it just sits a bit flatter for you. Now it's cool yeah it is. It really is right. So it's a recap: uh. What we did jack came in and he wanted to grab it out and he had a is it kind of a loosely based on um, the uh charlie hunnam character on sons of anarchy. That was the kind of idea. That was the kind of look that he was trying to achieve. Obviously we have to be realistic about hair texture and hair type and stuff, but on a whole, i think something like this works well for them. I think this look now without it being too greased back, actually works, really well uh. We maintained as much length by the temple as we cook. So that's the bit that needs to come back. That'S what gives a longer element, especially when jack looked straight on his own hair as well. We tied the sideburns up, so we went down to one and a half on the sideburns, just graduated them up and just shaped it a little bit to give a really nice smart finish a clean finish to longer hair left a bit of length down the bottom. Just to cover up the nape well and stuff, so a little bit more weight through here, but just took away the thickness, like real heavy things, point cut quite a lot into it as well. Take away that thickness! This side was longer than the right hand side. So weight and now angles up there and then straight on, so we almost followed the round of his head because he had a lot of length in there. It would have squared it up anyway and then yeah blow dried, a bit of salt spray in there finish with a bit of cream styling cream to give it like a low shine, but use a bit more of it to give it a bit more of a Higher shine and then just finish with some hairspray just to get that gloss of like what a pomade would give and without obviously with it being easier to work through the hair, and that is that's, it happier sweet man. Thank you very much. You

Ravand Ibrahim: Dan made me a better barber. Anytime I do a good haircut, it's because of his guidance and expertise

Yan Kai Tan: personally, ending of with the cream looks really good. semi slick and shine yet natural. if slick back is what he really wants then hairspray will come in better. hats off to you for cutting it so well. please come singapore one day so that i can get a cut from u

Frostbyt3z Gaming: How important is creating the horseshoe? I find it a bit difficult when I am cutting my hair at home. Also, are there certain head shapes where you wouldn't create the horseshoe and just fade straight up?

AugustLord: The sound of scissor cutting through hairs is so satisfying man.

memomorph: Skillful haircut! Thanks for explaining what’s going through your mind

Alec Collins: The products are interesting to me here because I've been using spray more and more because its quick and your hair doesnt fall so much as it does for me when I use a matte paste. What cream did you use?

Steve-in-Cornwall: Client Jack has amazing hair. I envy him. Awesome haircut and final style. He looks fantastic

Rakesh Bellary: This is what I call as a talented hairstylist.

Katrin Sanchez: My son has this exact same hair texture and thickness. Going to try this as a diy because they never do the style I ask for, and he has the same issue with the crown of his head and also has a cow lick in the front they always cut too short and it sticks out, even when I ask them to leave it longer . Even though I have no experience cutting hair, I just try my best to follow your steps and my son and hubby have received compliments on their hair every single time. I’ve done many of your medium length cuts on them, thank you!!

JelloG: Dan with the face shield is the funniest look

Alexis Arteaga: absolutely beautiful well done

hezi josef: I’m amazed by how talented you are, how passionate you are and what a good eye do you have. I’m cutting my own hair for years just because I don’t trust any hairdresser anymore. But dammmm I wish I could have my haircut done by you. Respect

Francie Gibbs: love the haircut. i actually liked his hair style even before the cut, he has such great hair. And the client has such beautiful eyes. is that a requirement to get on the chair? lol..

Radu: Around ears and lower sides can be gradually a bit shorter. Front and temples look good, also on back is well cut

G2J: Great cut! I think it would look even better with a few more inches longer on the top.

IRON SQUAD: That is a pure cut pal very impressive

JM Climacosa: I'm always excited to watch this series even its monday at 1 am on my country and i have online classes tomorrow at 8 am lol

Christian Arrieta: I just got a haircut yesterday, and this video makes me want to cry. They weren't anywhere near the skill of this guy...lost some covid gainz. If anyone knows a similarly talented barber in Los Angeles, please let me know.

Blayne: Nice cut , as always! I do think shorter would have suited the client better, perhaps. But it's his hair :)

Danny Dogeyes: Since I can't fly to the UK from the US, I wish I could send Dan a photo and he gives me a few suggestions for hairstyles. All these barbers out here lackin this man's expertise.

Mgd Mubark: Nice job ... I still learn a lot from you⁦⁩

Mia Fallon: Love this cut !! Haven’t seen a vid from u in ages

Suzie G: Edward scissor hands got nothing on you! Easy to run out of words in the comments, you don’t need telling how brilliant you are every time but hell..... you are!! ❤️

Mark Hoffmann: When you look as good as Jack, and hairstyle looks great...

the chief: I have a similar hair type as this kid and the reason I dont blowdry anymore cuz it gets puffy even with a pomade or clay cream. I also look for a more slimmer hairstyle so i towel dry a bit and let it air dry a bit more then apply my products when my hair is slightly damped. Thats what creates my hair to look more slimmer than it really is and also a nice hold

M E: Incredible brother great job.

ACL X: Not sure if that what Jack had in mind, but that cut is clean and smart looking job done.

liliana obando: Great job!! Love it!! Just one tip for the next time: use a white t shirt so we could apreciate your work better!! Thanks!!

Mikey: Absolutely masterful cut as always from Dan…but man do I hate when guys with great, thick hair but crazy ass hairlines go for slicked back. The non-straight hair line and cowlicks look weird on him. Hair that great I wish he would go for more of a side part or wearing it forward. Cheers

Ian pande: my dream hairstyle man:)

4everblue72: So do you ever get anyone change their mind and want the hair shorter just when you've almost finished the cut.

]BabyBlue[: What a beautiful eyes!!!!! Wish i have those

Ciclopea2: Jack does look Christian Balesque lol, Dan has such a great eye.

Phi Nguyen: I want to visit this barbershop so bad :(

Lee Brown: Your client has a great head of hair. Really nice cut RG but I wish he wanted to cut it shorter.

Ryan Belcher: The front forehead needed shaping on the sides and the lower back needed cutting more. He left needing another haircut

Rolando Rimarim: Hoping for a model looking for an extreme transformation. That would be awesome.

Carlos Ofarrill: You are the boss , y love you men !! Hugs from México city

Martyn Harvey: i shouldnt watch video like this, its making me miss work so badly! is that wrong. does anyone else get the buzz doing a haircut when you see such a good change

Dharmesh Patel: i think he need longer hair for what he wanted.

DUDLEYBARBERING: Love your videos

Saal Husain: really good barber! Dan where is your accent from?

Kiran M: Super lite cut

Rodman Walker: Really nice ❤️

Eduardo Tapia: This is a tough cut

Don Corleone: Please sir do a self hair cut tutorial , i am stuck in my apartment during lockdown.

Zakaria: I found myself staring at his eyes and forgot about the haircut

Joseph Enfieldrider: For a moment I thought he is cutting hair for a mannequin

Cleng: Why can’t I live near this guy smh

Alec Collins: I know it's all subjective, but do people do second day hair if you put two or three products in it on the first day?

Joseph Khan: Please sir please make a tutorial of g dragon mullet haircut

Dovlet Dovletov: Perfect will done

Mohamed Salah: ❤

Alec Collins: What cream was that?

Herald Shalom: Haircut Harry should visit this shop

Rifl3mAn: for a second there i thought guy was a manikin he barely blinked

Vignesh Balaji: What's name of that hair spray?

GG Sinl: Can you do a low taper or sum next video please

Dovlet Dovletov:
