I like my Styles Messier and a little less sleek, and so I wanted it to fit me hi Melissa. We have two Melissa Turners, I know so I don't know which one I'm talking to her. Oh, I did sorry y'all hi Mimi, it's still showing a little. I don't. I don't know what you're talking about well I'll move the phone over, so you could be in the shot and then it went in front of the other camera. There'S three cameras. She says the real Melissa Turner. Oh yeah, it's funny because we had another one. They came in and got a jet and chocolate smoke and Marsha's like I've, never known Melissa, to wear chocolate smoke or anything, or is that short yeah? Oh Carla's, on the golf course mannequin wait ing? Okay, we have the same exact wig on um. I just curled mine: this is a heat defined fiber. This is own the room by Gabor part of their latest designer collection, which we love. We love it um, but it's heat defined, so we're kind of testing these out to see how they wear, because we've never had he defined by Gabor. So I wanted to curl it see how it responded to heat. I have worn mine. This is my fourth or fifth straight day, all day on a sweater most days and I'm not having any issues with tangling or anything. The normal heat to fight comes with, I think Kim said. Hers is getting a little mine's getting a little rough, but I'm so hard on stuff I mean I'm the person that tears up their shoes too yeah Holly you're not going to want to cut this um. You know it's heat defiant now, let's see I mean I mean I'm gon na go over here, Michigan Michigan, for watching on Tick Tock. I want to give you a little attention. Dana says she loves Kim's wig, it's my wig too yeah. We have the same thing on all right, thanks for joining us on Tick Tock. We do this every Wednesday just a little introduction, because you guys you guys know, but these guys don't know we do this. Every Wednesday live at noon. Um and sometimes we show new stuff, sometimes we just talk sometimes, and sometimes we make sense, and sometimes we don't most of the time. We don't make sense, but we have very smart followers who love us and can muddle through the mess and understand what we're trying to say all right. Just to know these wigs are not available online. You they're in the store only they won't be available online until January, so just to get that straight all right. What do you want to talk about today? Well, someone sent a request in and said: can you please they started following us on YouTube. She hasn't got a wig, yet she's kind of overwhelmed, which it can be so she said. Would you please do um an episode where you talk about how to pick a wig and getting a wig and how to do it and all that, and I said well sure, that's that's easy stuff yeah. I mean one of the things that we talk about in the store is, if you are suffering from hair loss the whole your whole life, you've done you've dealt with what God gave you and so you've you've never thought about. You can pick out your hair and it opens up a whole new world for you when it's like. Oh, I can pick out what color I want. I can pick out what style I want, but getting to the point of finding. What'S right for you there's some things that you have to consider, and so we get people in the store all the time. That say I'll say what kind of hair do you want to have? Well, I don't know um. Do you want to hear like what you have now? No, I hate my hair. Well, you got to think about what you want, so you have to think about things of you know if you want to have hair like what you've had. Do you want volume? Do you like it sleeker, like what I have on? Do you want to bang? Do you not want to bang um what else? Well I mean like Kim said: that's the first thing you want to narrow down is okay. You know some people are really open with their hair loss issue and they'll just say: okay, you know what I've never had red hair. I want to have red hair. Some people are very private about it and they want to look as close to them. As you can my first advice - and I know it would be Kim's too, if you have a local wig shop, a good wig shop - it's always a good idea to go in there. First, if you don't, which many many people don't I mean that's over half of our business are people who don't live here, because they don't have access to a wig Salon like ours, right um. But if, if you can go, try someone that would help um and just another thought you don't get too caught up in some things like size. Most people are average, don't start measuring your head and freaking out. If you don't fall into a certain category, it's like blue jeans. Every brain fits different, even if it has the same size number on it so and don't get hung up on more expensive is better, so they make different cap constructions and prices go up based on how they're constructed, and so, if they have hand-tied features like what I have on and what Misty has on is a lace front with a monofilament part, so it looks like our scalp is apart. It looks like our hairline right and they do those things for people that don't want to bang. Well, if you want to bang or if you want volume, that's getting a hand. Type feature is a waste of your money, because you're going to fight that trying to get volume um and you don't need to um. I just want to say hi to Dana and on Tick Tock she's, just following a comment and she says she loves us and she wants her wig girl. We love you too. Thank you. Maxine has never tried a wig on your wig store. I know I live on the age. Oh you got, ta come see us Maxine, yeah Maxine is a pro yeah. I mean be open with it. Don'T like that's the first thing that we said you know don't box yourself into certain things. So if you, if you want to look more like yourself, then you know if you're a bob person I mean I've. I don't know how many times this happens in a month. You know somebody comes in they're, a bob person and they they just try so hard to get over and try something totally different. But I say this all the time when you're a ball person, you're a ball person. Now there are a lot of variations of Bobs. So you know but start looking at Bob's if you're, if you know you like your hair above your shoulders, don't start looking at things that are you know 20 inches long or if you know you like a short pixie cut, you know don't look at longer. Bobs! You just kind of go what you gravitate to. I do that. I mean every time a new Collection comes out and I'm looking at it, I'm all I'm on a honed in on the one that I like the best, because your first instinct is usually you know what you need to go with right and if you're looking at A style - and you have all these ideas of well I'd cut this, and I do this and I do that they make so many different styles, you're, better off finding a style, that's pretty close to what you want, and maybe it needs a little tweaking, but don't Go into it, oh I'll, just give it a whole big haircut, because there's there's no reason for that. The way they make these wigs and we're all talking, if you're, just tuning in all of our ways are synthetic, we don't have any advice for human hair. This is synthetic um they're made to be what they are right. You know they've come out with a heat defined fibers, where you can kind of change the style this and that, but when it comes to cut um Deb there, I don't know she posted in the group the other day about you know, adding bangs and how I Would say? No, don't don't do that, but she because the wigs are made to be what they are. It'S like it's like a child and you don't want they're who they are. You know so. Yes, there are some um tweaks that can be done. If a wig already has a bang, we can shorten that we can texturize, you can't just go thinning out a whole wig. It doesn't really help. I mean thinning out. A wig is not like thinning your natural hair, sometimes thinning out can make it look poofier because it's got permatease and it pushes those hairs out um, but try to find something closer to what you want right. I mean for sure there's a lot of things that will say you shouldn't do and people do and it works for them. We'Re just telling you based on our experience. We don't recommend that, but when it's your wig, you can do whatever you want to it. You can yeah there's no rules yeah and keep in mind, though, that if you're doing that and you buy a wig, that's curly and you want to cut it off if the curl like mine, I rolled it to where the curl doesn't start down here. So if I start trimming this down here, I'm cutting the curl off and it doesn't reform. So you know keep in mind that style is baked in that's what keeps it permanent. That'S what means it comes back. Every time you get it wet wash it get out in the rain, so don't cut off the style, yeah and someone else where we're located we're located in Dallas Texas. We have one store, one store only and it's in Dallas Dallas. If you can't tell from my accent Kim, sounds pretty normal, but I'm pretty much sound like a belong. Oh there's, nothing on a farm! Take me back to the farm, yeah um! You know if you're a new wig wearer, we typically don't recommend that you get anything heat friendly. The heat friendly fiber takes some maintenance and, if you're new to wigs, it's probably not a good idea, because you're you're, new and you're not used to doing the maintenance. If you find a style that you absolutely love and it's heat defiant you got to have it then talk to your local wig Salon or if you're here talk to us and we'll tell you what you need to do to maintain it and what products and tools You need so yeah yeah, I mean, and I I don't ever. I just say this whole time to you. I don't want to talk somebody out of buying something, but we're really honest about some things. Huh y'all mean sorry yeah I mean just there's a. I don't know I always say I have this love-hate relationship with lipsense. I have the same thing with these heat defined wigs out of the box, they're, absolutely gorgeous you know, and then we have some clients who are willing to say. Okay, I know I'm gon na have to buy this every three months. I don't care, I love the style, I do it but, like she said, don't go out and you know just go crazy on your first time because you may hate it and heat defiant does not mean that you can now open the oven because on heat defined You'Re not going to go above 280 to 300 degrees on any tool that you put into it, and normally you don't cook at 300 degrees, normally it's 350 or higher, and that blast to heat. It'S going to melt the fiber on a heat defiant, just like it does on regular fiber yeah, and someone asked I think, on YouTube just a minute ago. What tool I use to Chrome on. I used a plain curling iron, so I mean I just set it on low I'm about medium curled. My section leave your end out, because that gives it that really uncamped look but I'll do a demonstration video one day, yeah yeah super easy. Oh yeah knee surgery, I'm sorry, I hope you're doing well all right what else um you know and go online. Look at reviews see what other people have said. I mean if you're, not in our wig chicks, VIP group, join it it's on Facebook. It'S a private group and it's about 7 000 people and all they do is talk about their wigs and what they've done and how they've styled them uh. But you know look at the reviews that are online for wigs before you really dive too deep, because there's a lot of people out there that have worn wigs a long time that are doing reviews. And sometimes, if you don't read the reviews and see what people think you may get something that you know isn't going to work for you right and like she said there are a lot of people who do reviews. So don't I mean I would love for you to only watch us. You know because I mean I mean, but We Are Who We Are. You know so go watch someone else with a different coloration. You know with a different face, shape with a different everything, and you know I mean you just get it. I watch wig reviews of other people yeah. I we do too. You know, because I want to see what it's going to like, especially something new. That'S coming out, you know if I we want to see on other people and hear their feedback too, so um Angela, just came in we're wearing on own the room by Gabor. The colors are Blended a little differently, they're beautiful it doesn't matter. If you get the Raquel or the like of where the colors are gorgeous, I mean even ours look different and that's the thing about you know if you, if you have a friend who has a wig that you that you like just you know, you know yeah, Because we look totally different. Thank you. All right Sandy brought up a good thing that I think was on your list too yeah about color. How do you know if you're cool or warm um - and we did this whole thing a long time ago? It'S like this vein test, you, you know, you look at your veins and you see you know. What do you see in your veins? Is it? Are they more green? Are they more purple? Um blue? So it's just and then your eye color, I mean automatically. I feel like someone with brown eyes or hazel eyes can pretty well wear any color. They want. You know if you're more blue-eyed and cool. Like me, I mean I really like the cool tone colors. So it there's no rule. You know it's. 20. 22. Almost 20. 23., wear whatever you want yeah I mean there's there's certain things like I'm. I have hazel eyes. I don't like myself in Gold. I only like myself in cool colors uh that when I wear warm colors, I get compliments. So you know I think, you're right. I think I probably can, but I don't like myself in that color yeah. Is I don't like myself in certain things either I mean it just is what it is, but you know what it just. I bought that red wig. Okay, I bought that bright red wig. I'Ve had one red wig, the whole time I've been here and I've been here almost 14 years. I put that bright, red, bright red wig. On the other day I was like, I got ta, have it yeah, you know it's not something I would normally do. I don't think it's all that flattering on my skin tone. I thought it was until I saw myself in a picture. So if you like it, it's okay, just wear it yeah. It'S like it's like the rules of how to dress Everything's changed it's about. Looking your best and what looks best on you and I mean I don't even care if it's out of style, if it's a something that I think looks good on me, I still wear it. Oh yeah me too. I just I don't like to wear clothes that make me look old. Well, I am old though I didn't yes, but Tina. You said what veins look at the veins here. You know on the inside of your wrist because that's where your skin is nice and thin, you can see your vein color a little bit more um I'll link that video that we did it'll be in the description box. What do you have any questions about getting a first wig yeah? That'S a good question. I mean I definitely okay and I'm gon na just say it. I don't say this very often don't get a human hair wig for your first wig. Oh yeah, I've got three because I want it. We don't sell them. I wanted to know what it was about and I can have my wig styled for me anytime. I want and whenever they've styled my wigs they're beautiful, but they do what my hair does by the end of the day, it's all stringy looking and they are they're. They'Re, denser um, you know, unless you are going to really slap down a lot of money when you wash them they're a big hot mess and they take a lot of work to get them smoothed out. And, and so you know, if you're going to get a human hair and you're going to get a good one, you're going to start at four or five thousand dollars and yeah you can you can keep them and you can get them cheaper, but they're either. The cuticle is not going to be running the same direction or they're, going to supplement it with Yak hair or in the West can be. There are wider. I mean I had a lady come in one time and she's wearing a human hair. She turned around. I could literally see every weft in there because there was not any hair, and that was that's the way they save money. You know, is they don't put as much hair and then, if you get one, that's really good. That has a lot of hair. It'S kind of they're heavy, I mean I we I've done Kim's and you know I wouldn't I wouldn't have them for myself, but for your first wig. Don'T do anything like that, because you're gon na have to put so much effort into it. Like Kim said, you know get a synthetic that you can throw on and go yeah because for new wig wearers, if there's too much maintenance involved or it's you know too hard to style our experiences. Those people will not ever wear their wigs because it's too hard for them because it's a new product and it's not working for them. So you really want a throw and go for your first week, something you're comfortable in something that you can style easily and typically you know if you can just do it with your fingers. Her eyes are gorgeous without makeup. It'S just not anything doesn't matter. I I just think that you know Alexa a little girl with us now she's working she's in school to be a makeup artist. If she were to see me put my makeup on, she would probably die. She sat back there with me when I've done it and I it just makes me nervous, because I think I know I'm doing everything wrong and she always laughs and goes you're fine. I'M like I just made a big mess on my face. You know I start with this and I go to that. Then I come back to this. I it's it's there's no wrong reason, but you know who has really good makeup. She does wigs as well, but she has really good ideas for people who are, you know, number 20. yeah they're. She does a lot, for you know 50, and up yeah and they're really really good. I heard before and afters when before she when she shows her face without any makeup and without her wig on and then she shows it's amazing, she's so good at what she does and creating this really natural look yeah. She is I'm not natural. I mean I never am if I'm gon na, do it I'm gon na, do it I'm anything but yeah, but anyway anyway, enough about that. For some reason we don't have Jones, but we do have these well. I'M almost does you. You looked at the invoice. We never got it because I'm trying to think, because I thought I said just send us some of each but anyway this is not what I'm supposed to have on. What are you supposed to have on yeah? It is all right, love the sunlight, blonde color, so creamy. This is the prettiest blonde creamiest blonde yeah; okay, they are asking Jill j-i-l-l next word: Len l-y-n-n Beauty therapy. I know Jillian. I just run it over here. You know for a while they didn't make Ellen in a rooted color, and this wig is so pretty it's a pretty wicked. Anyway, it's a classic Bob. It'S a machine made wig. So it's got a little bit of lift and volume. Here, it's got It's back and we're sitting so close together, and this is Dina Dina love, Dina. It has a lace front, so you get that you can sweep it off your face, but it doesn't have a hand tied top. So the price point on this is amazing: has a cute little stack? I love Dina. I love it now. It'S coming and that's a go-to for us for people that don't want to have a bang and it doesn't have a whole lot of hair. No, it doesn't have a lot of hair, it's very lightweight. Oh wow. This one has a lot of stretch. Oh, I think aesthetically caps are so comfortable. Some of my favorite wigs have been a stanica yeah, Estetica and Tony of Beverly. I think have the most comfortable caps nice, all across bang. It can be trimmed. I have a short forehead, so I'm having to Sandy Ellen does come in red um. There'S a color called 32f, which is a deep red and then there's another color called 28. 30. 26, 30, 28, 26, okay, 30, 28, 26, and that's more of a natural redhead color lighter red, lighter red yeah. All the colors are on the website because I think Ellen comes in a lot, but anyway this is cute. It'S cute! If you took it, look at that look at that so cute when you drink it well in this one! Well - and you would I mean you'd - have to cover your yeah, but even with Dina, you can tuck one side and kind of get it to look asymmetrical. So cute, okay yeah, you can someone's asking about trimming a bang and Dina you can it's got just a little bit of a side, swept thing cut into it and what's really nice about them doing that is it's not what they call a face: swapper um. Someone said that Ellen is super cute, but aesthetic is too large. They make a style called petite charm. That is basically this style only shorter. Now it won't come in this color, but it does come in a good color range, so check out. Petite charm charm um browser value you can't buy on own the room until January online. If you come in the store, you can purchase it in the store, all right, all right, okay, goodness Blaze. Now this is a super super long one I mean. I don't know if I can get this thing on in here. Look at those long, curls a very pretty wig. We don't talk about this at all. Hardly I don't know if we've ever really talked about Blaze, and this is Lachlan blazes lace front with a monofilament part. You know Linda's asking if this is a cool, or this is just what I would call more neutral yeah. It doesn't have any gold. I mean it's like. I only know how to describe it. Like I said it's just so creamy so Lachlan has a lace front and a full mono top um. I can see my liner that doesn't look good. This is kind of hard for me because I have a short forehead. This style needs to be here. We need some mirrors in here for me to wear this. I'D probably have to get it steamed a little here to get a little lift to get it off. My face yeah same with this one, no uh, Sarah yeah, it is similar to element. It'S got a little bit more of a stack, but Meadow does have a smaller cap and it comes in seashell blonde, which is very similar to this. This is pretty yeah. I don't ever think about this wig. When someone comes in and wanting lawn and curls, I don't. I do not rely just needs a little bit of direction off the face, but nice I'm digging the blondes lately. Look like we're. 17.. Oh shoot. I wish yeah. I wish to too no, I did not have good hair well, I did it was just permed. I found this Tick Tock, video, the other day yeah and it's a girl who is like recreating her hair from like 19 90, something 1990 or something and I sent it to carry I'm like. I want to cut my bangs just so I can do this all right. This cap feels a little smaller to me than the others. Lachlan is so pretty it's been really hard to get, but yeah 17 is all acting and angst. I had plenty of The Angst. I didn't have acne until I was an adult though, and I still have acne Jan's asking. If we would do a video with cool color brunettes, we absolutely will yeah. I think we've done that before, but it's good to do it again, because new colors come out and especially uh in the last past year. You know noriko's done some new colors that were cooler and brown. Our Blaze is pretty, but he's just real pretty and that Lachlan looks better on you. Well, it still needs yeah. It does need to lift all right all right. It was like a year before they had a picture for Starley. I know they still don't even have Penny on the website. I know, but this time she sent me pictures and the specs and all the colors that comes in I'm all about it, I'm all about it, yeah, I'm about to put it on the website. It'S so you haven't seen it have you? No, it is so cute. It'S gon na be your new favorite. I don't know. I got too many favorites last one fashion forward. I mean it's. It'S cute, oh okay. Shelly is asking about how we keep wig grips from sliding back off your head. So a couple things, the wig grip is manufactured a very certain way. It will only work one way. One way. Only if you put it on wrong, it will slide the wig off your head. If you over stretch them again it it's gon na once you over stretch it it's not going to hold, it works with the nap of the fabric. So when you over stretch it and you separate that nap, it loses its ability to work. So, in fact, I had a customer in this morning and you know she put her wig grip on. I was like oh, we need to talk about that because she had it on wrong. I thought I'd just show what, if you have hair just make sure you have it up. We use these crazy, old-fashioned, barrettes, just get them nice and flat, but yeah. It'S it's this! It'S all about this you're gon na have this on the right. We just don't throw in the back. We tell everybody, two checkpoints white right, velcro in the back. You do those two things and you've got it on yeah. You see how many wigs I've taken on and off and literally that is you see my forehead moving? It'S not going anywhere yeah um, but we only like this brand. We only like Milano. We we have companies, send us products for free a lot so that you know for they're wanting us to buy them. We have never ever found another product that works like the wig grip by Milano. So that's all we sell. That'S all we recommend. Oh Marita wants to know how to put it on, get that off. So what Missy? This is the way Misty says to put it on. I think it's really smart. She literally holds her tag, puts her index finger on the white tag so that she knows it's on the right puts it here goes back behind your ears and then you're picking a velcro very low at the base of your neck. It doesn't have to be tight to work it just has to be on. If you have it down on your ears and there's a wrinkle, you can just lift it slightly. You saw in that uh one of the wigs I put on you could see the liner, and so, if you can for some reason, this white label showing just reach up there and push it back, so you can't see it yeah um. Someone said that the wig, where it gives them a headache you just don't want to put it tight, it really doesn't add any bulk um, but just yeah, don't put it tight and it if you have hair, I had a lady. Yesterday she came in and she's like. I can't keep this from sliding up in the back, she had shorter hair and she was putting away group on top of her hair. It needs your hairline, so you want to put all your hair up and then let it grip to your hair. I promise you, if you haven't seen our Tick Tock video, where Carrie's daughter is doing her dance moves and she's like slinging her head doing all that or you haven't seen Carrie on the back of a jet ski going 60 miles an hour. Try trust me: this thing works once you get it on right and get in the habit of doing that. You ain't losing your wig okay, I'm getting out of here. I got stuff to do. So, for example, the blonde wig that's rooted has a dark cap, so we recommend chocolate brown, but sometimes for some people the tan works better. So I have never had a tan with grub.
