Sam said this was the best haircut he'd ever had. He was pretty open to suggestions to Dan, other than that he wanted a short back and sides, so Dan gave him a versatile short haircut that could be worn in 3 different ways. This haircut could be worn swept to the side, down with a fringe, or up with a quiff at the front. Sam chose the option with the quiff at the front to end with.

#MensHaircut #Haircut #ShortHaircut

Hey guys welcome back to the regal gentleman youtube channel at the hunter collective. Today, we've got sam in the chair. How are you doing mate, yeah, dude you're, all right, so what we're doing what's the plan so we're going for a short back and sides yeah? How were you wearing the top? What were you doing at the top uh? This is to the side like that yeah. Nothing too, nothing. Special! Okay, no worries are you? Are you open to suggestion? Are you yeah yeah? Okay, okay, cool? Okay? First of all, what do you do for a living? Do you have to wear anything smart, clothing-wise, uh, sometimes some days but surely quite sure, but some days you have to we're smart right? Okay, okay, all right only ask you that, because the hairstyle i've just be you know when you look at when i'm when you give me a bit of freedom, i start thinking about what we could do with it yeah and i think i'm sure check your hairline At the front, all right, i just want to see what it's like, because it looks like it'll be low. Yeah you've got a very strong hairline at the front there. I think you again. Obviously, i know you've got nothing in it right now it's falling down, but you sweep it over to one side right. I find with your your texture of hair, okay, because you've got a little bit of kale to that a little bit of bend in there right. A little bit finer there's a lot of hair, though right, but it's just a fine texture when you feel it okay. Now i think it's a bit of a waste just pop it over to one side. I think if we give you something that you could have a few options with so again, quite a nice heavily textured finish, but you could wear it over. You wear it down. You wear it up. I just think something like that would be. I think it'd just suit your look as well. I thought something along the lines of that kind of haircut was like against your back. I was hoping you'd, say short back and sides yeah yeah. Definitely i i just think you could not. You know, if you put a suit on you, can wear your hair, smarter. You can wear it a bit messy, you can wear it up, you can wear it down. I just need to be a waste just wearing it one way. Personally, so would you be okay? Going down to like a two or three yeah, yeah, sorry, yeah you're people, okay, cool! What i want to do at the top for you is. I want to give you an option to wear it again up off your face. I think when you've got a strong hairline, it's a shame to leave it to kind of hide it or not. Use it. Okay, because you know the strength in hairline is a good thing right. Of course, i've got it, but well yeah. Well, that's exactly it, but it's true yeah one day we may all lose it. So while we, while we've got it, we might as well flaunt it right. So i'm thinking if we could do something, that'd be quite nice. I just think. Could you just lower your mask down for me a second, if that's all right, just bring it right down to your jaw. Okay, yeah! I mean solid, solid jawline, so you happy just to leave it to me: go for it very cool, um, so yeah i'll. Just briefly talk you through it, so two back in size, i'm thinking nice and low, maintain a bit of weight just through here just to match up to the jawline very wide jaw very, very square shape through the top. I'M thinking of taking off say not an awful lot to be honest, but more so towards the back. So essentially i want you. I want your fringe to be the longest point here. Just that allows you to do a few things. It allows you to sweep it over wear it down, wear it up, but i'm not going to over texturize it okay, because you've got that texture of hair that almost moves around itself. So i think just a bit of product will enhance what we're doing. I think this is more about what we talk about. Primary shape, which is the cut secondary shape, is the texture, and this is more about our primary shape, haircut, more than add loads texture. So, let's give it a shampoo and condition and then we'll get started, but guys so i have just shampooed and conditioned sam's hair just trying to off a little bit more than i normally do, because i want to see how it feels when it's just tolerated. So yeah, if you can see that when you start to scrunch it up a little bit so when it's wet it moves around a lot more than when it's dry. So if you see that when i scrunch it, it kills a really an awful lot. Actually, more than i thought it was to be fair, the front doesn't as much because it's longer, but everywhere else, curls up a little bit. So with that in mind, this haircut that i'm going to do. I just leave it a little bit longer. On top, it's going to give you so many options, but now i'm wetting it down and i'm working on the horseshoe section right so because we are working with the clippers on the back and size and we're using grades. I'M going to start to dry this off, because i'm doing this, i've been drying this off, i'm just feeling for the ox of the bone at the back and just seeing how prominent it is. It'S quite prominent, so i'm gon na probably have to work with that. A little bit as well, there we go that is resting on the opposite of the bone, so you can see how much that comes out from the top okay push a bit harder, bring it off from the top. Here, that's balancing onto the axle tone as well! So what i'm going to do is i'm going to work up to the bone and then work up and off with the blender. So three guard on closed guard see if i went higher with that that would have shown through the three because obviously it's coming out. So it almost like kind of spaces, the hair slightly. So i think you would look like there's a little patch at the back. I think it's about here. I wan na still keep a little bit of shape to the top there just to match up with the jawline moving on to our tuna leave it down two and a half moving down back to the lever down shoot with two and a half onto my two I'Ll work on my taper sideburns things like that as well in a sec, but i want to get this blending in done first, so i'm going to start, the back main focus is making sure we work with the oxygens about here straight up. I want this to come and blend down to this point here: okay, pick it up and off so so. We'Ve got my one half guard on: leave it down and start to just taper the side band a bit tighter, i'm just working through the lever, just gon na taper it down into the side bin, so i'll blend it down into the side bit. This has to change his color here, just putting one half guard on just so he just takes away a darker color, so using a size, one comb now i'm gon na start just to detail on the temple. I'M i'm just gon na strengthen this up a little bit as well, so i might have to cut into it slightly a lot of light baby hairs around the side bit around the sides here in the temple, so just by taking them away, it will sharpen up Anyway - and you can see a lot of lighter hairs here, so i'm just going to create the sidebar forms just coming straight down from there just going to work up a match kind of nice. Would you like me to take the side bends a bit shorter for you, yeah that'd, be good yeah, stick them up a little bit, yeah yeah, alright cool! I would say about. There would be nice for you, so just about there. Okay, so you're still keeping side bending and you're still keeping shape down the side of the face, but it's just not too long yeah. They just sneaked off from your shirt yeah. They did yeah they'd. Take your course man. That'S it yeah you're, happy with that lens is that okay, yeah cool, so a good thing about side, bends, keeping side bends into the haircut like this. What does it helps when you're working on framing the face by keeping that shadow just around there? It just creates a nice lean finish: the sideburns are too high and it cuts off quite high. It shows with more face, so it just doesn't look right. Sometimes, when you look straight on just keeping that sideburn and just a little bit of play there, just that shadow, continuous shadow coming from corner down and then take the mask off, and then you see it hit the jawline. It just gives that little bit of a sharper finish just taper on that one. Just to expose the hairline fully one half guard on lever open working up and up i'm not going to do too high. So don't go too high up into your subtle bone at the back there, i'm just going to work a nice low, natural taper looking down through the guard through this lever. I'M popping on my number one gardener leave it down, so it turns into a one and a half, but it's just a little bit shorter than the guard, the one and a half guard, i'm just working up a little bit into where that one half was i'm Just working down through the lever until it reaches closed and then open blade, lever, open, move back and move them up and off i'm just working down through the guard until it gets closed back onto our finis gon. Na finish this line out using my one chrome. Just to blend in there removing all the head on the bottom awesome now, what we'll do is we'll work through the top, so i will scissor over comb everything on the back inside in a sec once i've connected in the top so sweating, the top. Just let the clips out right, so what i'm gon na do now is i'm gon na work from the front back so again. This is where i want to the longest point, and all i want to do is just graduate it. So again, if you look at the head shape, it goes down, comes up and then comes back. I just want to go up nice and straight so you can imagine, what's going to happen there going to keep length in the crown it's going to be the true length of the apex. Let'S get longer towards the front, i'm gon na take off about that, so that way, you've got enough for it to lie down and go over, and you can also go up as well so roughly about, i don't know what you say: that is about half an Inch, i'm sure the point cuts into that as well. There'S my guide, i'm just keeping this all the way to just before the crown same angle. Now the crown is about three sections away, so one two and then three or just before the crown yeah, that's right. There we go as you pick it up there. It just gets longer as it gets towards the front, see and follow my guy from left that straight up, we're doing very, very small sections. Now now shaving my finger, i'm completely parallel to the other side. So that's doing is keeping that squareness in there as well. That'S what we're looking for it's going right into the clip away. I'M just gon na wait down just through the back bit of here just a little bit, i'm not near the crown! It'S okay! The crown is over here there we go, should do a bit of comb now just to blend that in make sure and cross check, because i stick around so i'm gon na. Do i'm gon na lay the syringe in so bring it out a little bit of that put a nice straight and that bit there is what's gon na fall, it'll be the length that i want. What'S doing is layering it i'm short or long. I'M just allowing this to fall forward if you wanted to as well so just layering it in not having too much with this connection we're looking for different ways. Someone can wear us here today, not just in that one way either being up or over. I want to give them options just breaking up a little bit now, just following the hairline round, i'm just going to slide just from this bit here slide through and we pull away as we get to the front. So if you want to wear it down, show the texture breaks it up as well. I'M just gon na point cut into this just straight down just to break it up a little bit, i'm just gon na break up the fringe a little bit as well. Let me dry it off now add a little bit of salt spray. Actually, to this just add a little bit more bulk to the hair. Just add a little bit more dry, a bit more thickness to the hair, so high speed, high heat. So the last thing we need to do now is the crown so dry that all off now, what i'm going to do is i'm going to freehand cut the crown so i'll just cut into that like a little bit, it all blends in nicely change over there At the top of the crown look at that there you go there, we go that crown's, all blended in so to style, i'm going to use the regular gentleman, my clay, all right. Just so you can see the different looks. We can create. Okay, i'm going to use a tiny amount; okay, literally a pea size; okay, just that, okay, that's all we're going to need make sure you rub it in through your fingers inside your fingers as well all the way through the polymer hands. So this pretty much goes pretty clear, okay, so we're looking for now. I want you to just start the crown get a circle like that, just to coat the crown and then just rub it in like a shampoo, okay, all the way through the hair and through the side through the blend, then through the bottom as well. Okay, now one look is that so up at the front a little bit messy a little bit textured. That'S one look you could wear that shows off the hairline. Let me see that mask off jawline as well. See that really popping out that's one look! You can create with this kind of length. Okay, just like that, so i'm just gon na change the camera there you go unlock with a pea-sized amount. Okay, nothing looks wicked suture loads, especially what i've just seen in the mirror. That kind of profile like that, i love the way that kind of flicks up at the front. All that texture through the back looks very thick as well. There we go. There'S one look right! Next, look i'll! Do your sweep! Okay, find it all down like that. Let'S do what you're originally having a little sweep over right, bringing it in a part and bringing it over like that. Okay, personally, it looks nice again. I think it's a bit of a waste of what you could do with your hair, just wearing it flat and just over to one side, okay, that it's doable a little more conservative a little bit flatter all right. You can do that as well. Another look! You could do is weigh in your fringe more down. Okay, so again we go from the back looking forward and then your hair a little bit more, looser more down and having that texture come off through the back like that. So a bit more like a slightly closer crop fringe element to it in the texture just twist it your fingers, create that bend and we create a whole different look see there. We create that. Look as well. So again, just a very simple uniform cut a little bit of texture through there using the natural texture, sam's got yeah, which one would you prefer to wear today. I think that one was pretty good yeah, didn't you yeah, so up at the front, yeah yeah. So not just not only that look how pliable the clay is as well. I'M just literally one of my fingers too. It'S not changing the hold whatsoever, so imagine that you just like in the day you know working away. You'Ve got something to be in the nighttime. You have to put more product, then swing your fingers through here, you're, fine. I think that looks wicked personally now, would you just do me a favor? Could you just take your mask off for me? So just pull it down, don't you see we're keeping that way through there? It'S really sharp enough. The jawline. I think that looks cool change it completely. There we go and that's it don't mate awesome. Thank you. Man very much. You'Re! Welcome i'll! Show you the back. That'S two into a nice little taper on the neck and then just working through there. That'S amazing looks nice to me. Yeah thanks man. No, that's! I see him happy yeah. The other guy was going about yeah. He was bigging me up quite a lot yeah. It'S pretty right thanks man. Thank you very much, that's very kind! Thank you. You

Regal Gentleman: We loved Sam's reaction to this cut! What was your favourite style? 1) Up at the front (the finished style) 2) Over to the side (smarter look) 3) Worn down as a fringe

Tom: So refreshing to hear a barber that has a real interest in his customer, I’ve asked for ideas from barbers before now and they look at me like I’m an idiot.

Webb: If I had a barber like him I’d come everyday.

PJ: The amount of time he spent communicating with him is the time my barbar spends for my entire haircut.

Lucas Ecclestone: Everyone needs a barber like this man here.

Erik Widlund: I love how a haircut can make a guy look so much better. No make up, just a good haircut.

Risheek Priyadarshi: I've been doing DIY haircuts all of quarantine and always noticed a patch at my occipital bone despite cutting the hair evenly around it but with what Dan said it all makes so much sense now!!

FR4CTUR3: Whoa. It's amazing how he focuses on every little detail to make the cut even better than expected. The face shape, head shape, hairline, jawline, etc. I want a cut from this man

Adriel Tan: Is it me or his the Gordon Ramsey of the barber world, the way he explains, the sound of the scissors is just so satisfying

Steve-in-Cornwall: Sam has amazing hair and you’ve made his day by giving him his best haircut ever. Well done Dan

João Pereira: That’s the kind of barber we all need! What a professional gentleman, really world class

Tim Endew: by far the easiest and most versatile cut, easy to (change) styling, nice and light but still holds great volume when styled. im going to ask my barber to do a cut like this. its cool! on top of that, my hair naturally falls like a lego hairstyle too. youre not alone brother haha

Jesse Kyro: I follow a lot of barbers on YouTube but this guy is hands down my favorite. Great instructor, great consultations, and great cuts every time. Cheers buddy.

icemandef: After I've had my hair transplant I can't wait to get a haircut with Dan. Years of seeing great cuts on immense heads of hair whilst I sit with this receding monstrosity that suits nothing. One day!

Kourtni Wood: I've been a barber for the last 9 years and this is one of the best videos i have ever seen. Terrific job! Your scissor work is truly amazing!

Mk3: I love how Dan analyzes the person in every detail, my occipital bone is also very prominent and I always have to ask stylists to be careful with it so it doesn’t show that big hump on the back, and sometimes they still cut too short. And also I love and always ask for versatility to wear my hair in more formal occasions and just casual party like styles. His hair looks great!!!! Well done!

annie fredrickson: I definitely watch this guy for his consultations. I love how special he makes every cut sound!

Natalie: I have cut my little boys’ hair for 18 years (I have a 19 year old, a 7 year old, and a 4 year old), but it wasn’t until Covid that my husband was brave enough to let me try cutting his. I’ve been watching tons of videos to work on techniques and your channel is by far the best! This is a great cut and you do such a wonderful job of doing cuts that suit the face, texture, and style of the individual. Thanks for doing these videos and sharing your gift! My husband is grateful too ;)

Alan G: I learn so much about how Dan factors in recession point, face shape, hair line, scalp exposure, cow lick, whatever that bone is called, etc. There is no one size fits all and I've learned to work around my head and hair's quirks when cutting my own hair- though my results are nowhere near Dan's...

AHMED SA: This is amazing , I have only one year as a barber , I just wonder how long I need of practice to get to this level ,great job man , always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Magoo: I have this almost exact same haircut and I got it like a year or two ago and I completely feel like a new person, its awesome.

Harris Lam: That's awesome. Great communication from the stylist. It gives the customer confidence to give him the trust needed to build a relationship.

rifle: I would love to get a haircut from you, I have never been for a haircut where they discuss options like you and give suggestions. Brilliant work

Sheldon Cooper: I am binge watching your videos. Love that you give your suggestions to customers. Most people don’t really know what is good for them.

Seth Moore: I'm in desperate need of a barber like yourself! I'm located in the US and am picky when it comes to my hair but very few barbers/stylist have ever gotten it the way I know it has the potential to look. Your work is simply TOP NOTCH! Keep up the great work and sharing your vids.

timmy wimmy: Bro I swear barbers can just move their hands through your hair and it will look beyond good and then I try going home and doing the same thing and I look like I have a bedhead... like WTF

Notchyouraveragesewist: I’ve been giving my fiancé cuts for a few years and decided to step my game up. Your video is soooo helpful. Do you have any tips for straight coarse hair? His doesn’t really style so when I have him this cut it just doesn’t work as well

jordanjames: Dan is a miracle worker! Love all three looks Sam looks younger and fresher!

Manu Gomez: I’m more into longer hairstyles but this guy is looking great!

Nero: This guy is amazing. His breakdown and confidence are both great, and the first 2 minutes was him just complimenting the fuck out of the client.

Michael Ross: This guy makes cutting hair look like an art. He's amazing!

Remu: This is exactly the cut I need. So versatile.

Making it Home: This is an awesome barber! Great teaching and communication. The cut is so well tailored for the client.

bag ofhammers: Brilliant haircut. The cut makes the most of the guys features as well, it so cool how everything is taken into account

Ronaldo Sanchez: This barber explains every step he takes. so helpful. learnt some valuable tricks of the trade.

Anthony Ellison: As strange as it may sound, I get pleasure tingles from watching haircut stuff, I find them so relaxing and soothing it's palpable. I used to love having my hair cut and how it felt, the sounds of the scissors the smells, my head being touched (lol)........the cruel irony is that I started shaving my head at 19 due to it thining/disappearing, so maybe it's just find memories. Strangely though I get the sweats when I watch people eat hot food, which I also love. Anyhow great work Sir, love your content.

D H: This haircut is on point, very well done. This is the look many think of when trying to achieve this style.

Waleed: Your dedication and mastery of your craft shows in your work.

Tommy Fleming: Dan is an absolute professional! Dropping nugget after nugget of tips.. wish his videos were around when I was first in training. I just can’t quite decide if the crown at the back just above o-bone needed a slight touch more scissor/clipper over comb just to neaten up the transition (probably just me being picky)‍♂️ Cracking shape and great techniques 10/10

Bills Fan aka Gary T: I think Sam would look good in any haircut. Dan certainly know his stuff.

Ciclopea2: Beyond fantastic, so versatile, loved his reaction.

Diana Trudell: First look was my favourite. So nice to have options. This stylist knows his craft .

Decipher Code: He is a great stylist, I wish I had this kind of hairstyle. Very skilled!

vincent van bolhuis: Thought perfection didn’t exist.... This man is a hairmagician

DudeisAwesome: this is my dream cut, my hair is just like this dude, except it is dark brown, almost black. I have same texture and same thickness as his, just little more wavy/curly but at this length it will be the same. I wish I could fly over to you Dan!!! Great cut as always!!!

Blank Blanker: This is the exact cut I try to explain to the barber that I want. God, what I'd give for this guy to cut my hair!

OP_10112: I live in Chicago and most of my barbers out here are great at fades but got almost zero scissor skills. They cannot understand face shapes or how to texturize hair if thick. So robotic, but Dan is a damn artist when it comes to scissors, very impressive

Mike Stevens: Your amazing man spent hours watching your vids I’d love to see you do a hair cut with someone with a hair system you would probably make it looks super real

Scott: This kid has a fine hair texture like I do, but MUCH higher density and I would kill for that nearly perfectly squared hairline. This cut suits him so well!

Lynnie Springer: I enjoyed this video. For me this is the best I have seen. Just seeing this makes me want to cut hair. When I found out I would have to do women's hair I changed my mind. I think doing men's hair would be more fun. The young man whose hair you did looks very good in all three styles. He needs to be a model. He has nice high cheek bones.

Shelby Fewell: Thank you it's been a while since I was in cosmetology school and I never got to finish. You've helped me give my boyfriend and his friend nice haircuts that they love!

Jessica Bauer: My brother is persistent on making me cut his hair, I feel like this gave some really good tips haha he has the same hair and face structure! Thanks for such an informative video, can't wait to try this on my bro

MrPixof: You're so talented, i need to come to London asap to see you, never could've find the haircut that really fits me for now but I'm sure you would! Straight and thick auburn hairs are so hard to style

Renkun Vlogs: Will try this on my friend! For someone learning to be a barber learning a lot from your videos! Keep it up!

Suraj: This guy is so lucky that he got a barber like you ❤️❤️

Reza Vergara: What a true master at his craft, pays attention to every detail down to what suits the style of the customer's face to what hairstyle is suitable to his line of work. I had a very bad haircut last week from a Korean Barber who seem to ignore everything I wanted in a haircut and proceeded to tell me that my hair was very difficult to cut. I wish i had a barber like yourself, great work

Joyce Kellner: Another beautiful young man with wonderful hair. I would love to see some "fixes" on middle aged men who don't have such great hair to work with.

James Bell: Wow this guy is so good. I have kinda similar hair to this customer, but the difference is I am yet to find a barber like this. I have asked all the one’s near me for some ideas/experiments/their expert opinion on what would look good with my hair, only to be met with absolutely no feedback, and just “I dunno mate I’ll do whatever u want”. Would love to find a barber like this guy who shows more interest in his clients and is willing to experiment with their hair more, but unfortunately London seems to be totally void of these types of barbers ‍♂️‍♂️ Edit: hi mate if u see this, are u based in London cuz if so ima definitely check u out, If normal service u give is anything close to this vid it will be a million times better than what I’ve ever experienced
